!! The game
* DuelingGames: With ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40000''. Both have TheLegionsOfHell screwing over humanity, massive battles, and crazy-awesome weapons. Warhammer 40,000 is, however, crispy-fried religious mumbo-jumbo SpaceOpera spanning light-eons whereas Mutant Chronicles is more secular about it (the [[ChurchMilitant Brotherhood]] and the Dark Legion nonwithstanding), with the backstory of various {{Mega Corp}}s taking over the solar system. 40k seems to have won, having several spinoffs and novels. MC has an InNameOnly movie and an [[VideoGame/DoomTroopers arcade run-'n'-gun game]] that, while well received in its day, has had nothing of the success of the various adaptations of 40k.
** Not to mention that Target Games went belly-up in the late nineties, and their IP was picked up by others, while GW has been going strong from the start.
* HilariousInHindsight: One can say that Imperial is the United Kingdom after Brexit.
* NightmareFuel: Enough to squick you out. Dark Legion basically RUNS on it, other factions also have squicky secrets.
* {{Squick}}: Basically, Dark Legion is squicky. Cybertronic can be too, at times.

!! The movie
* AssPull: The building the hero enter to find the location of the Machine [[spoiler: leads to the Machine itself.]] There is no foreshadowing of this.
* EsotericHappyEnding: [[spoiler: At the end of the movie, Mitch manages to launch the Machine into space thus saving the Earth. However, [[HomeworldEvacuation many of the survivor fled to off-world colonies]]. So, the Machine could easily land on one of the off-world colonies and [[HereWeGoAgain start all this over once again]]. This would be made worse by the fact that [[LockedOutOfTheLoop none of the colonists would know anything about the Machine]] let alone how to stop it, since [[SecretKeeper Mitch and the Brotherhood]] are the only people alive that know anything about the Machine.]]
