----
* DemonicSpiders: Plenty. The [[GoddamnedBats bats]] in the third level, who swarm Lester and stay out of his attack range while draining his health.
* GoddamnedBats: The actual bat enemies blur the line with DemonicSpider territory (above). On a less lethal note we have the seagulls who don't do any damage, but annoyingly pick you up and carry you back through the level.
* HilariousInHindsight: ''VideoGame/FarCry3'' would later use the "everyman trapped on an island where he takes a [[TookALevelInBadass level in badass]]" plot, only it became a massive hit.
* MemeticLoser: The protagonist gets this for running in fear from ''sea turtles'' alone. While he does get better as the game progresses and fights off threats that would terrify normal people such as giant spiders and pirates, players usually never get that far and will always view him as a stereotypical, easily frightened nerd. Even some of those who did make it or at least know about his CharacterDevelopment view him this way too (it perhaps doesn't help that you're stuck playing as the ineffectual, cowardly nerd version of Lester for more than half the game).
* MemeticMutation: Ideas of how sequels would turn out. Started by WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd in his review of the game and going from there.
* NintendoHard: This game plays a lot like ''VideoGame/PrinceOfPersia'', but with stiffer controls.
* SlowPacedBeginning: It's the story of a nerd and his journey to discover his inner strength and self-confidence, which later manifests as outer strength and the ability to kick ass. Most people never figure this out, because you spend 12 of the game's 21 levels playing just as a nerd.
