1	* AdaptationDisplacement: Much like with ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003'', many fans didn't know that Krypto was originally a comic due to how obscure the character was and how DC would often use the cosmic rewrites over the years. Not helping that there are original characters that were never in the comics.
2	* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Dog Star Patrol rivals Ace and Krypto in what people remember from this series.
3	* JerkassWoobie:
4	** Snooky Wookums is a bratty, manipulative little backstabber but it's clear that Mechanikat barely treats him with any respect whatsoever. Even Supercat's fan club admitted they felt sorry for him in the episode "Join The Club".
5	** Ignatius. He's greedy and a massive narcissist but as a villain, [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain he's so utterly pathetic]] that it's hard not to feel even a little bad for him.
6	** Hot Dog. Sure, he's easily the rudest and most temperamental of the Dog Star Patrol but he just can't catch a break and he certainly didn't deserve to be drained of his power in "Bathound Meets The Dog Stars".
7	* HilariousInHindsight: With the release of 2022's ''WesternAnimation/DCLeagueOfSuperPets'', now we have two animated adaptations where Krypto the Superdog is friends with a Creator/{{Kevin\|Hart}}.
8	* {{Moe}}:
9	** The puppy versions of the characters are fondly remembered (especially Puppy Krypto).
10	** There's no denying that Stretch-O-Mutt is just pure adorable.
11	* NarmCharm: It's a cartoon about ComicBook/{{Superman}}'s dog that has Superman's powers fighting evil animal super villains. The premise is incredibly ridiculous; but the cartoon is very well aware how silly this premise is, and never takes itself too seriously because of it. Overall it manages to catch the fun of the [[UsefulNotes/TheSilverAgeOfComicBooks Silver Age]] while avoiding it's more ridiculous pitfalls.
12	* NauseaFuel: "The New Recruit". [[MeaningfulName Drooly's]] special ability is... the power to manipulate his own drool. He can lasso, blow spit bubbles, and salivate an entire river's worth, culminating in him swamping the Dog Stars' ship and everyone on board. At one point, he drools in Hot Dog's cup right before the latter takes a big sip of hot cocoa. Snooky Wookums surrenders out of repulsion.
13	* OlderThanTheyThink: ''WesternAnimation/LadyAndTheTrampIIScampsAdventure'' also had a group called the Junkyard Dogs.
14	* PopularWithFurries: The series stars a cast of cute animal characters, with only one major human character, so it has some popularity. Emphasis on ''some'', however. The series has been mostly forgotten with only a handful of merchandise items, no mention of it from official Warner Bros. media, and a nearly non-existent fanbase. It also doesn't help that while being alluded to be part of the DCAU, the series mixes in wacky humor with talking animals. That being said however, following the announcement of ''WesternAnimation/DCLeagueOfSuperPets'', people began to bring up the show much more.
15	* ToyShip: Snooky Wookums and Nikki, the female kitten in the Supercat Fan Club.
16	* UnintentionallySympathetic: Kevin is framed as unreasonable for being fed up with his flock of relatives in "Storybook Holiday", despite the fact that they've been pestering him all day and he's forced to put up with them crowding his house for a whole week. Many viewers (especially anyone who has been in his shoes before) could probably sympathize with him wanting some space.
17	* ViewerGenderConfusion: Snooky Wookums, despite his name and appearance, is a boy.
18	* ViewerSpeciesConfusion: Breed, rather than species. Due to his white colour, Krypto is not readily identifiable as a Labrador Retriever-like dog. Most viewers mistake him for a White Shepherd.
