* AssPull:
** Two in the same chapter. In chapter 33, the following happens:
*** [[spoiler: Sayama reveals a new power up with Regula, while also revealing she is Dunstan's daughter from the future. There was no foreshadowing for this, and the revelation comes out of left field.]]
*** [[spoiler:Chichibu Jun, a kid that is absolutely naked except for his underwear, brings a crossbow and arrow ''out of nowhere'' in order to kill Pardoner' due to being an enemy of Vice. This is repeated ''again'' in chapter 37 against Jun, with K getting the crossbow from out of nowhere.]]
** In chapter 40, [[spoiler: Musashi revealing himself to be a cyborg to catch Vice's offguard came with no foreshadowing whatsoever.]]
* BaseBreakingCharacter: Fans either adore Musashi for trying to prevent a bad future while looking awful pretty doing so or can't stand him due to how obnoxious he can be, especially to Yamato.
* BrokenBase: The amount of HoYay in the series, specifically between Rune and Yamato. Some find it to be a great amount of {{Squick}} and unnecessary, and other see it as crucial to the storyline.
* DesignatedHero: The main character has a bipolar outlook on the good of the world. The "good" characters are very enigmatic and don't seem all that attached to even each other. They also happen to be the world's last hope in being saved from an amoral scientist's products of destruction. Yep, Stan Lee's bringing in the Marvel touch here.
* FashionVictimVillain: Desir's doji form. Glass bunny ears and a pink cottentail almost the size as he is? You gotta wonder what Dunstan was thinking when he came up with that design.
* FetishRetardant: A lot of the FemaleGaze given to the Doji easily falls into this since they ''look'' and ''act'' like prepubescent kids. Same applies to the {{fanservice}} given by Sayama and Oume, both of whom are high schoolers but ''look'' like elementary school kids.
* HarsherInHindsight: Many first time readers easily mistook Rune Kodaira for a girl, and had no issue [[HoYay pairing him with Yamato]] thanks to how close they seemed. [[spoiler:Then it took a turn for the tragic when it was revealed Rune was the reincarnation of Gekkou-hime, the ''wife'' of Yamato's past life that Ultimo killed, and becomes a {{yandere}} after becoming Jealous' master out of a desire to be with Yamato again despite their now IncompatibleOrientation, by ''[[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil any]]'' means necessary.]]
* JerkassWoobie: Murayama Musashi. While his whole ''world'' was destroyed, his rude quips to Yamato and tendency to rather recklessly do things himself places him in this territory.
* {{Narm}}:
** K is hardly the most imposing villain, being a wimpy coward with noticebly buck teeth. Probably intentional, considering that Vice chose him solely because he was such a pathetic push-over.
** Akira Hidaka, a master of an evil doji, is a pro golfer. Either it's reflective of the [[{{VillainWithGoodPublicity}} celebrities these days]], or it made you burst out laughing. Hell, his FanNickname seems to be the [[{{MemeticMutation}} EVIL PRO GOLFER]].
** Yamato's expressions and reactions to 99% of the stuff that happen in the manga are so over the top, it seems more at home in something like ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''.
* TearJerker: Though the presentation might be a little overblown, [[spoiler:Eko's funeral in chapter 34]] is still very touching.
* ViewerGenderConfusion: Rune is very easily mistaken for a girl by first time readers. [[spoiler:Ends up being HarsherInHindsight too since Rune ''was'' a girl in his past life, Yamato's ''wife'' at that, and has become a {{yandere}} now thanks to his killer being Ultimo and desiring Yamato but knowing he has no chance thanks to IncompatibleOrientation.]]
