* AccidentalInnuendo:
** After mentioning that he and [[WebVideo/MLPAnalysis Ink Rose]] stumbled across some Rule 34 of them, he then mentions in the same sentence that "On the plus side, (Ink Rose) gave me a really awesome birthday present."
** [[http://joshscorcher.tumblr.com/post/121459233412/imabeast78-the-nintengers-thats-my-secret This tumblr post]]. Especially the [[DoubleEntendre "My body is ready"]] line. If this were ''[[ChasteHero anyone]]'' [[IncorruptiblePurePureness besides]] [[{{Adorkable}} Josh]], we'd think this was on purpose.
* AccidentalNightmareFuel: Firebrand casually destroying his clone right after it became self aware and ''begged him to stop.'' It was intended to be a joke, but veered too far into uncomfortable territory for some people to find funny.
* {{Anvilicious}}:
** As a former Marine, Josh has fervently criticized the ever-present ArtisticLicenseMilitary in media multiple times, noting that it has resulted in misconceptions of the military and its members. Eventually [[https://youtu.be/hdBvpYAwsfo taken to the point of parody]]:
--->'''Josh:''' And that, for the 374th time, is why in great detail, the Equestrian military ''sucks''.
** A recurring moral in his fails countdowns: Mistreating those who work for and support you will destroy your reputation, and lead those who once looked up to you [[BrokenPedestal to view you with scorn and resentment]]. Josh vocalizes as clear as possible his resentment for companies known for taking advantage of and abusing their employees than those with respectable working conditions that otherwise make dumb decisions, and they tend to take top spots of the Company Fails list series (it would be at #2 ''at minimum''). Long story short, AbusiveWorkplace is a ''big red flag''.
** The moral is expanded in the 2021 Fails video: While it's true that companies are the ones largely screwing up in destroying their reputation and the industry's... the fandom/gamers or the news media are not exempt from this, this wasn't just a fault only found in video game companies. It's telling that Josh puts up the doxxing of Scott Cawthon of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' high enough at #4, barely missing the Top 3, because he supported a certain political party. By the end of the video, he ends up having a breakdown that all he wanted was just to play games without feeling guilty or gets called out for not adhering to certain philosophies by merely playing those games he likes. In times like these, it's important to acknowledge that there's no pure good and evil side, both corporates and fandom have their own capabilities to wreak havoc and ruin the industry so at least the fandom (or whoever had more control on their actions) should try to keep their impulses in check.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4VSvMkcf8g "Trickster's Ambition"]] is his main theme and it never gets old. Now with lyrics!
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npIMqBPBP4Y&t=57s "Games Fill Us All With Ire"]], an AffectionateParody of [[Music/BillyJoel "We Didn't Start the Fire"]] while highlighting all the fails of 2020.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhkHF3PmTgc "Welcome to the Industry"]], another AffectionateParody, this time of [[Creator/BoBurnham "Welcome to the Internet"]], highlighting the kind of fails of 2021, some caused by companies, some by the rabid fandom and the activists hounding the news media.
** For the fails list of 2022 we get [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MargkbOpoLY "The Little List of Fails"]], yet ''another'' AffectionateParody, this time of "[[Theatre/TheMikado I've Got a Little List]]", and it's arguably ''even more'' {{Take That}}-ty than the one in ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy!''
** The 2023 fails list brings us "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WnJl4Kd-Ek Ultimate Fails of 2023]]", a Music/TheUltimateShowdownOfUltimateDestiny parody with a solid beat while still ripping apart all the fails of the year.
* BrokenBase: "Newbie Dash" opened up a question of how objective Josh can be on things. Josh later addressed this, explaining that he had based his opinion off his own personal experience, and apologized for not considering others' different experiences and for upsetting anyone.
* FanPreferredCouple: Quite a few people ship [[PortmanteauCoupleName FireRose]], or the personas of Josh and [[WebVideo/MLPAnalysis Ink Rose]]. ''Even [[http://joshscorcher.tumblr.com/post/91058840782/alot-of-people-seem-to-ship-you-with-josh-besides Ink]] [[http://ink-rose-the-hylian.tumblr.com/post/92291194052/joshscorcher-ink-what-r-u-doin-ink-stahp herself.]]'' (Although Ink's acts seem to be more ShipTease and [[{{Troll}} making Josh squirm]] than anything else.)
** After Josh got married however, [[AbandonShipping the shipping has since almost stopped completely.]]
* FandomRivalry: After their friendship ended poorly, Josh Scorcher fans do '''not''' get along with Lily Orchard fans.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** His scripted reaction that his next collab partner will be [=BhaalSpawn=] aka Creator/LilyOrchard in the end of his "Bridle Gossip" review. It is as if the universe is secretly telling him to never work with that person. That, and pretty much everything involving them now that the two are no longer friends.
*** Ditto with what happened between him and his editor Xain Russell, who after the "Response to Lily Peet" video began to talk badly about Josh's decision on making the video, becoming more vocal about his friendship with Peet and then finally cutting ties with Josh and has continued talking poorly about Josh.
** Similarly, everything involving him and [=ToonKritic=] after the latter was exposed for pedophilic crimes.
** One acknowledged by him; when talking about ''VideoGame/MassEffect3'' in his Top Ten Overhated Games. He says a bad ending shouldn’t ruin a game if you had a good time until the end. [[spoiler:When talking about ''VideoGame/AsgardsWrath'' the number 1 entry in his Top Ten Worst Endings video: he has much praise for the game up until the ending. He says the plot twist for the entire game with everyone you met and got to know with the world you have yourself immersed in were nothing more than an illusion by Loki to manipulate the main character, ruins the game for him.]]
** The "Creator/{{Ubisoft}} Fails" video started with the statement that Ubisoft was more stupid than evil. The very next year, Ubisoft got hit with several abuse and harassment allegations with several of the accused stepping down from their positions. Josh notes this when counting down the Top 10 Fails of 2020.
*** Likewise, the "Blizzard Fails", while he put it on just #2 and only below the merger with Activision, and the ''Warcraft III Reforged'' debacle made it to the 2020 Fails video, in 2021, Blizzard got caught in lawsuit-inducing controversy involving a horrific work environment, along with a "frat boy" culture that ended with a female employee committing suicide due to horrific sexual harassment on the part of her boss. This controversy in particular made the #1 spot on the 2021 Fails list, and this time, Josh states that he can't even blame and scapegoat Activision like usual. This time, it was all on Blizzard, and he ended up once again "having to eat his words" back when he said Blizzard didn't deserve all the misfortune stemming from Activision's antics.
** When he started as a brony analyst, he made a declaration that one way or another, he (jokingly) is going to review ''every'' episode of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic''. Back when he was doing the more faster "In 10 words or less" or less format to cope with the huge number of episodes, it appears that he is actually to fulfill it. However, he only reached until the end of Season 7 before stopping, only doing sporadic normal reviews of Season 8's episodes. It was only until the release of G5 that he made another review for it and he reveals that the movie was the franchise's last chance to convince him that it is worth his time, as he was suffering from burnout from the franchise and he basically washed his hands of G5 due to his poor reception and by extension, the remaining unreviewed episodes of FIM.
* HePannedItNowHeSucks:
** He got a LOT of flak for hating on ''VideoGame/{{Okami}}''.
** In general Josh gets called out for hating on games for reasons that relate more to him being bad at them. This includes the aforementioned ''Okami''.
** Josh got a lot of hate for his comments about "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E13DoPrincessesDreamOfMagicSheep Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?]]" and bluntly stating he thinks [[EnsembleDarkhorse Princess Luna]] is the worst of the four princesses. His problems with the episode also don't help since he states that Luna hasn't learned anything after [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E4LunaEclipsed learning to understand others]]. Fortunately, this was alleviated to an extent in his full review of the episode where he expressed that he wants to like the episode but is very put off by the fact that Luna intentionally created the Tantabus to torture herself.
%%** Pretty much the entirety of his second Top Ten Overrated Games list, especially in regard to VideoGame/{{Halo 2}} and VideoGame/CallOfDutyBlackOps.
%%** WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra, Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica (though to a lesser extent, as he never said he hated that show), the list goes on...
* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct:
** Josh, ordinarily, is better known for his comedic talents and his knack for reviewing than for anything else. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWIw2xNvCrA When he voices Kefka, on the other hand, he can be freaking terrifying!]]
** His performances as various [=NPC=]'s in WebVideo/BronyDandD show an incredible emotional range. What makes it even more impressive is that it's completely unscripted.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** In his review of "The Crystal Empire", Josh guesses that the next level of Twilight's studies is her becoming an Alicorn, which he then dismisses with a "nah". Cue the Season 3 finale, where that's exactly what happens, and he reacts to it with a GLORIOUS FreakOut.
** Back in his and [[Creator/TheAutarch The Autarch's]] top 10 hated characters list in 2010, he used the My Little Pony theme to make fun of [[VideoGame/TonyHawksUnderGround Eric Sparrow]]. [[ConvertedFanboy Fast forward a few years...]]
** In his Top Ten Stupid Awesome Games, when on the subject of ''VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}}'', he briefly shows a picture of her summoning a Demon accompanied by the text [[SarcasmMode "Yup, should definitely be in Smash Bros."]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Tv3w1V5_Mg Uh, right, about that...]]
** In his ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' rant he mentions how Creator/{{Nintendo}} would benefit from including DLC in the next game using ''Franchise/MegaMan'' as an example. Come ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU'', not only would Nintendo offer DLC for the game, but Mega Man ended up being a playable character.
*** From the same video, he stated that he actually wants [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Cloud Strife]] in the game, despite the amount of jokes regarding such, because it would attract fans of his game and also, in his own words, "help that emo cut himself". Guess who shows up as DLC?
----> '''2015 Josh:''' "Somebody pick up that phone, because I freaking called that years ago!"
*** Also in that same video, he mentions liking [[MovesetClone clones]] within Smash, which was very much an unpopular line of thinking back then. After Ultimate’s reveal, clones, or as they’re now officially known, Echo Fighters, became rather popular within the community, thanks to them being officially acknowledged as not being fully new characters.
** In his Top Ten Potential Warriors Games list, he cited that the ''Franchise/{{Persona}}'' series would translate well into the ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' style. A couple years later after the countdown, and we now have ''VideoGame/Persona5Strikers''.
*** From the same list, the ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' series also took a spot on it. Fast forward a few years and an interview revealed that [[https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/05/koei_tecmo_is_interested_in_working_with_mario Koei Tecmo is very interested in doing a Mario Warriors game]].
** In his ''Top Ten Forgotten Games'' video, he laments the fact that ''VideoGame/ScottPilgrimVSTheWorldTheGame'' will probably never be re-released because nobody really cares about it anymore. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGMhTsK-hh4 Welp...]]
** After The ''Top Ten Nintendo Fails'' mentioned an entry on forgotten and neglected Nintendo franchises, one such title mentioned was ''Advanced Wars''. Nintendo would announce a revival of Advance Wars with a remake of the first two games.
** During ''Top Ten Trio Bosses'', Josh cracks a joke about how ''VideoGame/BugFables'' is pretty much a fan's response to Nintendo continuing to make games like the hated ''VideoGame/PaperMarioStickerStar''. Cue the September 2023 direct, which revealed that the beloved ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor'' was getting remade. Seems like Nintendo is finally acknowledging the fans' views on the series.
* MemeticMutation: Censoring inappropriate language with [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E16SonicRainboom Fluttershy's yay]] seems to be catching on.
* NeverLiveItDown:
** Fans will ''never'' let Josh forget that he neglected to save Santa in his Let’s Play of ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII Final Mix'', as they were quick to bring it up in the chat during [[https://youtu.be/yzJgaY18yrM?t=4737 his and Ari’s livestream Let’s Play]] of the game.
-->'''Josh:''' [[PunctuatedForEmphasis SHUT. UP.]] Shut the F up, okay? I am never going to live that down!
* NightmareFuel: In "Taking ''Stranger than Fan Fiction'' Too Seriously", when [=EmeraldComet=] delivers a barbed zinger about Josh not having a brain, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9tr90r05Mw&t=72s we zoom in on an unamused Aramau as creepy music plays and the background goes away]].
* OldShame: Josh isn't particularly amused by some of his old techniques and habits for putting what's on his lists. Especially the practice of putting [[VideoGame/NoMoreHeroes2DesperateStruggle Jasper Batt Jr.]] in lists revolving around 'hated characters', 'bad/disappointing villains', or 'annoying boss fights', as within his community, it became so overdone and missed the point that he was really designed to be that way to deliver the message of 'revenge is not that satisfying'. At the very least, Josh still acknowledges the intended annoyance; [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqFlLktseQc Jasper Batt Jr. only made it to the Dishonorable Mentions of the Top Ten Worst Video Game Villains in 2023.]]
