* AluminumChristmasTrees: Gaffigan once made a joke about how there will one day be a bacon hamburger with two doughnuts instead of buns, and that someone in the audience will probably think it's a brilliant idea and make one. Meet the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luther_Burger Luther Burger]]
* GrowingTheBeard: ''Doing My Time'' marked a major step forward for Jim. Though most of the material was originally featured on previous albums, the presentation and performance have been sharpened and honed to a significant degree.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** Jim makes a few jokes about Jared Fogle during his Subway bit in ''Mr. Universe'', but he adds that Jared "seems like a nice guy." In 2015 Jared was arrested and found guilty for possessing child pornography and having sex with minors. Funny enough, he called Ronald [=McDonald=] a "pedophile clown" in the same show yet he's the relatively innocent one of the two fast food spokesmen.
** ''Cinco'' has a few jokes about tumors. Shortly before the album version was released, his wife Jeannie was discovered to have a large brain tumor, which was luckily benign and able to be completely removed.
** Possibly lampshaded in advance in ''Obsessed''. He jokes that his wife told him donuts aren't appropriate for use in a trail mix and says that he's just on a different trail...one that leads to the emergency room.
-->'''Jim''': That joke'll be even funnier when I die of cardiac arrest.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** His routine about {{UsefulNotes/McDonalds}} has two.
*** At one point, Jim mocks the mascot Ronald [=McDonald=], referring to him as a "[[MemeticMolester pedophile clown]] from the '70s." Jim would later go on to play Colonel Sanders in UsefulNotes/KentuckyFriedChicken commercials.
*** When listing off things that [=McDonald=]'s has taught people, he says that [=McDonald=]'s taught people that breakfast ends at 10:30. However, in 2015, [=McDonald=]'s launched an all-day breakfast menu, meaning breakfast no longer stops at 10:30.
** In ''Obsessed'', he makes a jab at Whole Foods for their food being too expensive. After he hypothetically runs out of money, he says he'll put the rest of his groceries on his Amazon wish list. Amazon would later purchase Whole Foods in June of 2017, possibly making Jim's joke a reality in the future.
** Throughout his specials, Jim will comment on how crazy having kids is. In ''Beyond the Pale'' and ''King Baby'', he mentions having two and three kids respectively. It gets funnier when you listen to ''Mr. Universe'' where he says having a fourth child is like "you're drowning and someone hands you a baby" and finally in ''Obsessed'' he announces he and his wife had a '''fifth''' child.
--->"I don't know what happened! Ten years ago I couldn't even get a date and now my apartment is literally crawling with babies!"
* MemeticMutation: HO~T POCKET!
* NightmareFuel: He does a good voice for {{Satan}}, complete with a {{Voice of the Legion}} when he calls his wife.
-->"I'll just call her up, she'll say 'Who is this?' and I'll just go ''''''THE DEVIL''''''"
-->"She'll always be like 'Why do you do that?' and I go 'BECAUSE I'M GONNA KILL YOU.'"
* SignatureSong: If you only know one Jim Gaffigan routine, it's probably "Hot Pockets".
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks:
** Unlike the previous four specials, ''Cinco'' was not released on DVD, Blu-ray, or digital; it was only streaming on Netflix (along with being able to purchase it on CD). Thankfully, ''Noble Ape'' reverted to the usual release methods.
