When he learns of the city failing to pay tribute, Kalin intends on massacring Kiev and orders his men to pile into a pyramide which he ascends on his horse to observe an ensuing battle, uncaring of both his men who suffocated inside and those his horse tramples. Then, a ballista arrow causes him to fall and roll down, to which he angrily orders to unleash the Zmey and burn all Kiev to ash. |

For example, in the original, Ilya and Vassilisa are said to have loved each other for years when she is abducted, but in the English translation, the relevant scenes are moved or dropped so that his passion for her when he rescues her seems to come out of nowhere. The musical numbers and a lot of the plot points involving Razumey the carpenter (who designs the ballistas that knock Zmey Gorynych out of the sky) are dropped, leaving a number of {{Dub Induced Plot Hole}}s. |
