* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsUWBNxc2Lo main theme]] certainly fits the epic tone of the movie. So does the song played to cure Ilya of his paralysis. Other themes, like those played during the CorpseLand scene and the battles are also a pretty good match for the mood.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment:
** Ilya's wife singing to the forest animals. However, the work she does at the time is quite important to the plot.
** The {{Fanservice}} dance at the enemy's camp fits better.
* CompleteMonster: The [[BigBad Tugar Khan Kalin]] is a savage warlord who leads his forces to RapePillageAndBurn through all Russia, massacring villages and killing countless innocent people. Tearing apart the lands until he comes to Kiev, Kalin intends on ruling the city by demanding tribute, while keeping his ferocious dragon, the Zmey, in reserve. When he learns of the city failing to pay tribute, Kalin intends on massacring Kiev and orders his men to pile into a pyramide which he ascends on his horse to observe an ensuing battle, uncaring of both his men who suffocated inside and those his horse tramples. Then, a ballista arrow causes him to fall and roll down, to which he angrily orders to unleash the Zmey and burn all Kiev to ash.
* {{Macekre}}: Many fans of the original Russian version of ''Ilya Muromets'' regard the {{Dub Induced Plotline Change}}s of Creator/RogerCorman's script as an act of butchery. For example, in the original, Ilya and Vassilisa are said to have loved each other for years when she is abducted, but in the English translation, the relevant scenes are moved or dropped so that his passion for her when he rescues her seems to come out of nowhere. The musical numbers and a lot of the plot points involving Razumey the carpenter (who designs the ballistas that knock Zmey Gorynych out of the sky) are dropped, leaving a number of {{Dub Induced Plot Hole}}s.
* {{Squick}}: "The falcons were witness to our love..." Ilya may mean that the falcons in their home village saw him and Vassilisa exchanging glances of affection before his paralysis was cured, but it sounds as though the falcons were voyeuristically spying on Ilya and Vassilisa conceiving their son.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Even today, the final battle with Zmey Gorynych looks impressive enough.
