* AmericansHateTingle: Hulk Hogan was never able to really appeal to the core audience of Wrestling/{{WCW}}. They brought him in doing the exact same face routine that he did in WWF, and the reaction went from mildly positive to flat out booing him. This is partly because Wrestling/{{Sting}}, in WCW, was the guy that the fans refused to boo and expected to be the invincible hero, partly because they preferred the southern "wrasslin'" style to the northern "sports entertainment" style, and partly because Hogan was seen as an upstart.
* AwesomeEgo:
** Whenever Hogan shoots on people who write his checks, you really have to clean out your ears and listen again to make sure you heard him right.
--->"I swore I would never talk about the money again with Vince because that's what we always argue about. But when I saw the amount I was like, 'That's like one of my driver's paychecks', so I had to say something. He replied, 'Well you're not the only big guy any more, there are now 12 big guys'. I said, 'Well if that's the case let me explain something to you, I heard the first three matches and nothing. ''I'' wrestled and I heard what happened. And then I heard ''your'' match, Vince, and nothing. And I saw [[Wrestling/JohnCena Cena]], and people were leaving. I had a hard time getting out the building because of all the people marching through. So who are the other 11 big guys you're splitting '''my''' money with?' [our emphasis]
** During his initial heel run in the WWF, by late 1980 and early 1981, Hogan -- in television interviews -- began bragging that he was going to become a big Hollywood star and had connections with his "friend," Creator/SylvesterStallone, who was then working on ''Film/RockyIII'', and that Hogan was going to be the star of the film. Everyone thought he was full of it and it was just another muscle-bound, arrogant wannabe blowing hot air … but it would be averted, big time, when ''Rocky III'' became a huge box office success and made Hogan (proving himself right) a national icon.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Nothing screams "[[AllAmericanFace American Badass]]" like ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efQlv3wPS4o Hulk Hogan's Theme]]."
** Except [[https://youtu.be/fKJDAVvs_JA his more famous theme]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi51kkMepn0 his WCW theme was no slouch either]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWTPf1GsDQ0 Or his NWO Theme]]
* BaseBreakingCharacter: There's still a large old school legion of Hulkamaniacs out there, but for decades some Internet Wrestling Community fans have developed a DoubleStandard for Hogan not minding ''several'' of his most revered peers throughout history have been doing the same things they accused him for or even worse. This in no way justifies his most questionable actions, it was a trope that was FairForItsDay but now lets take some aspects into consideration:
** Hogan has been unrelentlessly written as a pro wrestler whose only justification for reaching the lengths he did were his physique and a little device known as "Creative Control Clause". Thus said, Wrestling/BruiserBrody didn't needed one, in fact he '''ate it!''' Stinking events and abandoning promotions without further notice if things weren't going the way he liked.
** He's also been judged as an over-bloated performer who never should have been champion nor carried the biggest promotions on the States over his shoulders for so long. Now lets look at people like [[Wrestling/EdFarhat The (Original) Sheik]], who owned his own promotion and placed himself front-and-center of the spotlight week in-week out. Or even [[Wrestling/JerryLawler Jerry "The King" Lawler]], possibly the pro wrestler with more titles in recorded history.
** Some call him out character-wise for reaching ridiculous levels of NoSell. Forgetting this is an old established narrative resource in pro Wrestling that former {{Monster Hee|l}}ls like himself have always used (...namely Wrestling/TheUndertaker, Wrestling/BigVanVader, Wrestling/LegionOfDoom, Wrestling/UltimateWarrior and even Wrestling/{{Sting}}).
** And also lets not forget how he's been painted as the shrewdest political creature in business' history, one who never minded to bury into oblivion whomever he liked, possibly forgetting Wrestling/AndreTheGiant would even ''hurt people for real'' if he feared they were stealing his spot or did him any wrong, or Wrestling/TheKliq's backstage "Reign of Terror" back in the mid-90s. [[{{Irony}} Ironically]], the same time when "Terrible Terry" started to become the most unpopular wrestler on the internet.
* BrokenBase: Hulk getting removed from the WWE Website and essentially being made an Unperson after a racist rant of his from a decade prior was leaked in the summer of 2015. Most fans agree that it's a bit of an overreaction on the WWE's part, with some pointing out that this is hardly the worst thing Hogan has done and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzZcMoUxSFQ that the WWE's own history with racial equality hasn't been flawless]]. Others have pointed out the ''very'' suspicious timing in that it was leaked right before Hogan was taking Gawker to court over his sex tape that Gawker has exclusive access to. Hogan took them to court for a hundred million dollars, while Gawker only made around forty five million in traffic in 2014. The court ruled in favour of Hogan, and he was awarded $115 million, plus punitive damages could increase that reward to nearly ''half a billion dollars''.
* CommonKnowledge:
** Smarks will often claim that Hogan can't wrestle and only became successful through his charisma and backstage manipulation. While never on the level of a Wrestling/KurtAngle, Hogan was capable of working a technical style, as evidenced by his matches in Japan, where he famously busted out an ''enzugiri'' on Wrestling/TheGreatMuta. Hogan just never wrestled that way in the states because A) Promoters wanted him to be a [[WrestlingMonster monster heel]] in his early days and B) By the time he became a megastar in the WWF, he didn't need to. Not to mention that age and injuries had already taken a toll on him by that point.
** Many fans remember Hogan as a squeaky clean babyface. In actuality, Hogan retained many heel traits even during his face runs. He was fond of using back rakes, eye rakes and face stomps, all of which are heel tactics. He wasn't above using foreign objects as payback against his cheating opponents. He also had some negative traits, such as being a SoreLoser (He refused to leave ringside after being eliminated in the 1987 Survivor Series until referees threatened to strip him of the title. He [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kYNNs2nYLA#t=11m15s went into histrionics]] after losing the WWF Championship in 1988, and he illegally eliminated the men who threw him out of the 1989 and 1992 Royal Rumbles, including his then-best friend [[Wrestling/SidEudy Sid Justice]]. In Wrestling/{{WCW}}, he spoiled [[Wrestling/RandySavage Randy Savage's]] 1995 World War 3 victory celebration.)
* CreatorsPet:
** Originally as far from it as one could get but every return of Hogan's had increasingly diminishing returns from the fans, especially as Hogan's age and injuries began to catch up with him. While it took a while to reach this status in WWE, Hogan was this right from the start in WCW and TNA.
** From hanging out with Website/{{WrestleCrap}} inductee wrestlers, to celebrity guests like Dennis Rodman or Creator/DonaldTrump. Pretty much everyone the writers have desperately wanted to put attention on has been Hogan's "old friend".
* CriticalDissonance: {{Smar|tMark}}ks tend to hate him, but a myriad of old school fans still adore the guy.
* DesignatedHero: In 2010, Hogan interrupted a heartfelt speech from Jeff Jarrett, accusing him of being a glory hog who kept younger talent down in order to keep the spotlight on himself. This would be an accurate and legitimate criticism of Jarrett's career...if it hadn't come from ''Hulk Hogan'', the '''biggest''' prima donna in the history of professional wrestling. The audience of the Impact Zone was perfectly aware of this and didn't hesitate to boo Hogan out of the building.
* FanNickname:
** His Japanese fans call him "Ichiban" ("Number One" or "The Best").
** Hogan's detractors often refer to him as "Terrible Terry", the "Orange Hobgoblin" and more recently [[Characters/WoodyWoodpecker "Wally Walrus"]]. Related to this, there were jokes that "the tanning bed was the only thing to pin Hulk cleanly."
** His finisher is commonly referred to as the "[[DoomyDoomsOfDoom Legdrop of Doom]]".
* FirstInstallmentWins:
** Smarks are generally not crazy about Hogan himself, but [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VBAHdeyn9s#t=265s even they cannot deny]] he still leaves a crowd spellbound. Those who remember when he first joined the nWo will attest: he generated real heat. So here we have a performer who's lasted roughly forty years across five major companies, able to shift seamlessly between face and heel (at least until TNA, when the Impact Zone made it clear that they wanted the old Hulkster back -- which further proves the point). His replacements? Not so much. In fact, WWE struggled in his absence until Steve Austin came along.
** His role as Thunderlips in ''Film/RockyIII'' is considered his only decent acting role, and this role is what got him the publicity he needed to become the megastar he was.
--->'''[[WebVideo/OSWReview V1]]''' The only time the crowd even '''rustled''' during this match was chanting for Hogan after [[Wrestling/AndreTheGiant Andre]] tripped up [[Wrestling/RandySavage Macho Man]].\
'''Jay''': God, that makes me really sad. That means that Hogan's ''[[JerkassHasAPoint right]]!'' [[ReplacementScrappy He's right to steal the spotlight.]]\
'''V1''': In a way, yeah.
* FranchiseOriginalSin: The WWE blacklisted Hogan for years after leaked audio of him using racial slurs found its way onto the internet. Thing is, they broadcast him unironically calling Wrestling/{{Yokozuna}} "The Jap" at ''Wrestlemania IX'', so it's not as though his casual use of racial slurs was anything new. The difference being that in the earlier instance, it could be chalked up to ValuesDissonance as part of a work, whereas the leaked audio was a shoot in 2015, long after such remarks were considered acceptable.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff:
** Is INCREDIBLY popular over in Japan, or at least used to be.
** He's still ''HUGE'' in Europe, despite of the fact he only had a handful of matches there!
** He's also inexplicably popular in Canada, despite their general disposition towards technical mat wrestlers and the Hart Foundation 97 angle making the AllAmericanFace a bad guy in Commonwealth nations. Hogan's two battles with Rock in Canada probably began the process of rebuilding bridges burnt by the Wrestling/MontrealScrewjob. This was especially apparent at ''[=WrestleMania X8=]'' in Toronto, Canada.
* HarsherInHindsight: Hogan and Randy Savage, The [=MegaPowers=], feuded heavily with the heels Akeem and the Big Bossman. What was the heel team name? The Twin Towers. This may have been the origin of the "HULK HOGAN DID WTC" meme described below.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** When Hogan wrestled in Japan in the early 80's, he did so wearing black or white trunks, red knee pads and silver boots as a Face, a full decade before the nWo.
** He also briefly switched to a black and white outfit that was eerily similar to his nWo garb in late '95 during his feud with the Alliance to end Hulkamania. Even funnier is that after he (temporarily) went back to the red and yellow garb, he talks about how Sting is one of his best friends and always would be, and that the black was gone for good. Yeah...
* HoYay: "Ya know what really turned me on Mean Gene? The whole time I've been training with a dude..."
** "We've been hangin' and bangin'!"
** "If you THINK for one second, [=McMahon=], that I was the right [[strike:GAY]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eA2BQXwlOOE GUY...]]"
** Courtesy of the infamous Yapapi Strap Promo: "And as I see the raw pink meat on your back brother, I will take it to another level. I will transform from Hulk to Hollywood. I will double strap you with both fists, and you will scream to the heavens."
* HypeBacklash: Probably the most common target in professional wrestling, which is to be expected considering that he's the most well-known and celebrated wrestler in the world. He never was the best in-ring performer (although he could be technically sound if he wanted, just look at his Japanese matches for evidence) and relied on massive amounts of charisma and cheesey promos that would never get over today.
* JustHereForGodzilla: Hogan's "limited" repertoire took him quite far: Hulking up, posing, no-selling punches and pointing. There was a reason why his matches often went on last even when he wasn't champion, many fans would leave the arena after a Hogan match if it were in the middle of a show. Nobody asked to see Hulk Hogan as a heel boss on TNA -- something he made careful note of, as seen in his recent WWE cameos.
* MemeticMutation:
** Brother.
*** Dude.
*** Jack.
** WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN (fill in the blank)-MANIA, RUNS WILD ON YOU?
** 24-INCH PYTHONS
** The Apple Pie Indian Strap Match, thanks to an infamous bit where Hogan mispronounced "Yapapi Indian".
** [[OutOfFocus YOU'RE NOT READY, BROTHER.]]
** "HULK HOGAN DID WTC" There were several pictures of Hulk Hogan photoshopped during the September 11 attacks, including one of him doing the Atomic Leg Drop to one of the towers as it collapsed. This may stem from the [=MegaPowers=] vs. Twin Towers feud in the 80's.
** [[SpotlightStealingSquad THOSE CRUISERWEIGHTS CAN CRUISER-WAIT, BROTHER]]
** "That's the reason why this company's in the damn shape it's in, because of BULLSHIT like this!"
** [[WagTheDirector "That doesn't work for me, brother."]]
** JAM THAT JAM.[[note]]Hogan has [[https://bodyartguru.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Hulk_Hogan_quote_tattoo.jpg an extremely pretentious tattoo on his arm]] that says "I AM THAT I AM", which is how God introduced Himself to Moses from the burning bush in the Literature/BookOfExodus. Unfortunately the ornately stylised font and the Is being a bit too close to the As has led some people to insist it says "JAM THAT JAM" instead. Wrestling [=YouTube=] channel [=WrestleTalk=] and their sister channel [=partsFUNknown=] have taken this joke and absolutely run with it, using "Jam that jam" as their CatchPhrase, competing for a "Jampionship" belt in prediction contests, and even writing and performing their own theme song largely based around Hogan quotes with "Jam that jam" as the chorus.[[/note]]
** "Don't work yourself into a shoot brother." [[note]]Paraphrased from [[https://twitter.com/hulkhogan/status/125437560418865152?lang=en an infamous Tweet]] made by Hogan in 2011.[[/note]]
* MisBlamed:
** For the infamous Starrcade '97 finish. A lot of people have accused him of refusing to do the job cleanly, and conspiring with Nick Patrick over the "quick count" timing to make Sting look bad. Wrestling/EricBischoff said that he booked the finish and it was a bad idea all around. He insisted that Hogan had wanted to put Sting over cleanly because he knew how important it was to have such an anticipated rivalry end the right way. But when Sting showed up to the event he was pale, out of shape, and lacked any enthusiasm when discussing the match. Apparently, Sting was going through some personal problems at that time in his life, including substance abuse and marital trouble, which affected his work ethic. When Hogan and Bischoff saw the state of Sting, they both began having doubts and Bischoff changed the finish of the match. As for the fast count, Nick Patrick said he was initially told by Bischoff and Hogan to do a regular count, but was later told by Sting that it had been changed to a fast count. Unsure of what to do, he panicked and did a regular count.
** Bischoff has also said that Hogan rarely played his "creative control" card during his tenure in WCW. Hogan's detractors would have you believe he was practically booking the promotion, however Bischoff said he could "count on his hands" the times Hogan refused to do something. This was countered by Kevin Nash who said (albeit Tongue-in-Cheek) that Hogan waved his "That don't work for me brother" clause whenever he had a chance, which he found amusing as a fellow wrestler but aggravating as a booker. That being said, Hogan's creative control clause only applied to his own angles and matches, meaning that he had no hand in burying talent that he never actually worked with. Even among those he ''did'' work with, he wasn't responsible for how they were treated after they moved away from Hogan. Hogan was unquestionably a contributing factor in the downfall of WCW, but his detractors would have you believe that he destroyed it single-handedly.
* {{Narm}}: Some of his promos. The end of his four year title reign to Andre (with help from debuting EvilTwin referee Earl Hebner) is a pretty good example. Hogan has tears running down his face as he babbles incoherence like "HOW MUCH FOR THE PLASTIC SURGERY, MEAN GENE" and "WHEN I TURNED AROUND THEY WERE IDENTICAL!"
** Another example: His acting during the ''Main Event'' in 1989 (one year after his loss to Andre), which culminated in Wrestling/RandySavage's heel turn over accusations of lusting after Elizabeth. During the Mega Powers' matchup with the nefarious Twin Towers (Wrestling/BigBossMan and [[Wrestling/TheOneManGang Akeem]]), Savage was thrown out of the ring and onto Elizabeth, knocking her out cold. A distraught Hogan, sure that he was going to be helping to plan Liz's funeral, carried her limp body back to the dressing room and begged the doctors to do more than they could to save her life, all the while showing complete disregard for Savage as Boss Man and Akeem were beating him from pillar to post.
** Also, a surreal ''[=WrestleMania IV=]'' promo (Which probably crosses over into NarmCharm for sheer entertainment value) where Hogan promised to sink the east coast into the ocean when he body slams Andre all the way down into the fault lines. But it's okay, because [[ArtisticLicensePhysics everyone who can't swim can hold onto him while he heads for the new shore]] - Specifically, they can hold onto 'The largest back in the world', while he backstrokes and doggy-paddles them to safety. In which case they would probably drown. And we haven't touched the part where Donald Trump gives up all material possessions. He then did his usual pose, and pantomimed a swimming a backstroke for some reason.
** The night after ''Bound for Glory'' and Hogan's heel turn, Bischoff and Hogan come down to the ring with Hogan reusing his "Hollywood" gimmick complete with smug air-guitar. The big difference now, however, is instead of playing on the World Title like he would back in WCW, he's now playing on ''crutches'' and is mugging the camera with it at every chance he can. If ever the smarks needed an image that encapsulated their feelings on Hogan in TNA, there you go. Made worse in hindsight considering he could've used the Immortal world title he was to present Jeff Hardy with in that very same segment.
** From the 1985 ''WWF The Wrestling Classic'': "Ya wanna get in there for some ring-a-ding-ding, Piper?!"
** [[http://37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lj1d2bdh9p1qzx70zo1_500.jpg The fist helmet]].
** From 1995: For most people, cutting a vicious promo and promoting your new restaurant business would be two entirely different things. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MqesGatCgg Not if you're the Hulkster.]]
** The infamous "Hulkster in Heaven," where Hogan somehow manages to make a song allegedly [[note]] Hogan has claimed the song is about a fan from the UK who died before he could attend a Wembley show Hogan was wrestling on, but Hogan has never wrestled at Wembley and wasn't even in the country when the WWF did a single show there in 1992. [[/note]]about a dead fan all about himself. It's not helped by his terrible singing voice and some questionable production choices.
* NarmCharm: If any other wrestler used a basic leg drop as their finisher, they'd be laughed out of the ring. Hogan made it work however, [[PopularityPower solely cause he was Hogan]].
* NeverLiveItDown:
** Hulkster will always be remembered as a selfish, senile old man who kept down the young talents at any cost. While he has admitted he wants to maintain a higher profile than everyone else, he also jobbed to stars that had great potential like Warrior and Goldberg. Every rumor is automatically believed, [[TheTysonZone no matter how wild or fallacious]], while the good deeds go unacknowledged.
** When he confused the Silverdome for the Superdome at [=WrestleMania=] XXX.
*** He attempted to poke fun at this blunder at [=Wrestlemania=] 35. And then proceeded to confuse [=MetLife=] Center with [=MetLife=] Stadium.
** Lying about not using steroids, only to admit (under oath) that he had been using them for 16 years. It was actually MetaphoricallyTrue, since Hogan was not on steroids at the time he denied it, as evidenced by his smaller physique.
** It's highly unlikely that his detractors (and black people) will ever let him live down saying the N-word.
** Lying to Wrestling/TheUndertaker about 'Taker's tombstone at ''Survivor Series 1991'' giving him a severe neck injury when it was clear from the footage that his neck never touched the mat. Hogan's tendency to lie a lot gets a lot of backlash from his detractors.
** Stating that flying across the time zones to Japan made it possible for him to work 400 days a year somehow.
*** In fact, there's a long list of Hulk Hogan's absurd lies that Wrestling/JimCornette [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7WTm-6JSds spends nearly 30 minutes breaking down.]]
* OlderThanTheyThink:
** His ''Atomic Leg Drop'' was his finisher since his days in the old Alabama/Tennessee territory.
** He started his stint as AllAmericanFace ironically in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
** ''Hulkamania'' was a term coined in AWA in 1981.
** People tend to forget that during his career he played some of the most famed angles in wrestling's history. Nevertheless, is [[AlwaysSecondBest always other wrestler's face the one that comes to mind when mentioned]]. A few examples:
*** Back in the late part of TheSeventies a [[GimmickMatches handicap match]] was not booked as punishment, but as a way to show a particular wrestler's power and dominance. AWA had Wrestling/AndreTheGiant, WWWF had Wrestling/BigJohnStudd... two out of three guesses who had that roll in the old Florida and Georgia territories. Considering he was at that early stage still a MonsterHeel, and he's not even the most famous one on that matter!
*** Being unfairly fired from your promotion but keep on working there in a different masked gimmick until your name can be cleared is one of the oldest angles in wrestling. Twenty-so years before Mr. America's arrival, we heard about one "[[Wrestling/JunkyardDog Stagger Lee]]" in Mid-South, a "[[Wrestling/BruiserBrody Red River Jack]]" in WCCW and even Jim Crockett's own CharlieBrownFromOuttaTown.
*** Wrestling/{{Sting}} is undisputed when "fall victim of treason" comes to the subject. In Hogan's case, he had the rotten luck of being double-crossed by his official TagTeam partner more often than not and for varied reasons.[[note]]André, Wrestling/PaulOrndorff, Wrestling/RandySavage and [[Wrestling/EdLeslie Brother Bruti]] to name a few[[/note]] Creator/MrT is probably the most honorable exception.
*** Fifteen years before the Wrestling/MontrealScrewjob Hogan fell not once, but TWICE in a similar plot against Nick Bockwinkel in AWA over the belt. He even was called "[[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson The People's Champ]]" by his increasingly growing fandom.
*** ''[[StandardBleedingSpots "Gettin' color" aka "Wearing a Red Mask"]]'' is synonimous with Main Event and Hulkster couldn't be an exception, he's being there more times anyone could count. Let aside Wrestling/RicFlair, Wrestling/SgtSlaughter and more prominently Wrestling/AbdullahTheButcher and Wrestling/BruiserBrody were the most recognized practitioners of this art.
* PopularityPolynomial: More like popularity rollercoaster. Hogan was the most famous and well-liked pro wrestler in the 1980s during WWF's first boom period. A steroid trial in the early nineties and a few shitty movies later, not so much. He tried to make a comeback by going to WCW in 1994 and while welcomed at first, he ultimately failed to get over with the WCW fans. Then he makes a FaceHeelTurn in 1996, and eventually became LoveToHate as the leader of the nWo, only for him to be outright hated again when the novelty wore off. Then Hogan made a return to WWF/E in 2002 in which his popularity resurfaced. However, it once again took a nosedive at the end of the decade due to his divorce, catastrophic personal life, failed reality shows, a sex tape, and his disastrous run in TNA. He made one last comeback attempt by returning to WWE in 2014, and while that was mildly successful, he was caught using racial slurs in his sex tape and was fired and blacklisted in 2015. However, his victory over Gawker in 2016 was met with massive approval across the internet, and he's rebounded back once again, and WWE let him back into the fold in 2018.
* ProtectionFromEditors: Wrestling/KurtAngle may have the 3 I's, but Hulk's got the 3 C's: '''C'''reative '''C'''ontrol '''C'''lause, it's true, it's true. ''Nitro'' became what it was through the wallet of Ted Turner, who bought World Championship Wrestling in the early 90s. With this much money to play with, WCW management i.e. Eric Bischoff could pretty much write a blank check to any talent he wanted to sign. This meant attracting huge names like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Razor Ramon, Diesel, and a slew of others to come join WCW. However, for some of these stars--Hogan in particular--a blank check wasn't enough. They wanted creative control of their on air characters. This meant they would have a hand in dictating what storylines they took part in, and even wins and losses. This creative control became a cancer that would eat away at WCW for years, and eventually led to Wrestling/VinceRusso's infamous [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Cps9Xd7wmw rant at "Bash at the Beach"]] in 2000, and a subsequent lawsuit because said rant went further than Hogan thought it was going to.
* RootingForTheEmpire: His nWo run in the WWE was in trouble from the start when the fans refused to boo him no matter what he did. To paint a picture, he and the rest of the nWo beat up The Rock so badly he needed to be taken to a hospital, then Hogan himself T-boned the ambulance The Rock was in with a semi-truck. The fans booed The Rock anytime he got any offense in their Wrestlemania match. When it became apparent that Hogan could've eaten a live baby in the ring and still got cheered, he was quickly moved out of the nWo.
* SoBadItsGood:
** Have you ever seen Hulk's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rLWdOTplVw acting?]] He's okay when he isn't trying to act angry, but when he does...
** [[http://www.i-mockery.com/bad-albums/hogan/ His music can qualify as well]]. One of his songs has him singing about a dead fan, complete with ''a gospel choir''.
-->"[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQmoIcyOWW0 The world just lost...another hulkamaniac]]."
* SpiritualSuccessor: [[AvertedTrope Absolutely NO ONE!!!]] Decades have came and went searching for "The Next Hulk Hogan" and every promotion, training camp and stable had failed into this quest. Wrestling/UltimateWarrior, Wrestling/{{Sting}}, Wrestling/LexLuger, Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin, Wrestling/JohnCena, Wrestling/DwayneJohnson, Wrestling/BrockLesnar... the list is unammountable and goes on to this very day. The ClosestThingWeGot EVER considering his push and drawing power back in the day? Only "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Jake "The Snake" Roberts!
* VindicatedByHistory: This may be the last and most painful burn to every "smark" who had invested a lifetime into hating him with passion. Of course he's in no possible way greater than wrestling itself, but you know what? He proved time and again he's even greater than Vinny Mack, legitimately the most powerful draw in business' history, reaching heights not even his idol Wrestling/DustyRhodes rose to, writing up his name in gold lettering just like [[Wrestling/BrunoSammartino Sammartino]], [[Wrestling/HarleyRace Race]], Flair, Andre or Backlund before him, and that... '''that''' is something not even they can deny.
* XPacHeat: While most fans clearly love the Hogan character, Bollea himself tends to get this trope due to his ItsAllAboutMe and {{Jerkass}} moments in RealLife. "Hogan Sucks" chants were common in WCW.
