* BrokenBase:
** Long term ''Power Rangers'' fans aren't always happy when a person is brought into the franchise via ''HOPR'' over actually watching the show, due to said fans having a tendency to spout Linkara's opinions (something he's spoken out against). This ranges from ''Ninja Storm'' going from a well-liked season to being OK, Carter Grayson suddenly being a badass on par with Tommy Oliver, and ''Mystic Force'' also dropping in popularity.
** Linkara's decision not to immediately change his ''Operation Overdrive'' video to remove his statements in regards to Samuell Benta being a thief. Over a decade after the accusation that Benta stole a banner meant to be auctioned off for charity, he finally came forward to assert his innocence, stating the banner in question was either lost by staff (the convention was notorious for not being well run) or that it was stolen by one of the fans and not him. Linkara, for his part, has acknowledged he has been made aware of the video but that before he takes any action he wants to research the facts himself since in spite of Benta's claim it's still a 'he said/he said' scenario on who is telling the truth. He has not said outright he thinks Benta is lying, but that it was not handled well (Benta should not have waited 13 years to finally make a statement, for instance), but has said in general he probably should remove the statement since ''History of Power Rangers'' really should be more focused on the actual show and not its actors, unless their actions have a direct effect on the season in question[[note]]As an example, Linkara has said he would not mention the Ricardo Medina Jr. court case in his videos since the actor's actions had no impact on ''Wild Force'' or ''Samurai'', though he did bring it up in the revision[[/note]]. Some fans support Linkara doing his due diligence in finding the facts, while others have accused him outright of slander when there were so few facts in the first place to criminalize Benta. Ultimately, in the opening to his reuploaded review of ''Wild Force'', he both mentioned the case (in a brief and non-sensationalized way) to start with, before stating that he doesn't otherwise want to bring it up for the reasons stated above, and [[AuthorsSavingThrow included a quick cut-in in which he acknowledges that Benta's claim is disputed and that he regrets bringing it up, while still not quite apologizing since he feels Benta is at the very least guilty of negligence.]]
* GrowingTheBeard:
** While fans generally disagree as to when ''HOPR'' officially hit its stride, most can agree that the first episode, covering ''Mighty Morphin'' Season 1, really wasn't that good, since it skipped CharacterDevelopment for anyone who wasn't Tommy, Bulk, or Skull (not even giving analysis for the villains), skipped the season's originally intended finale ("Doomsday") barring a passing mention, and didn't even bring up characters like Titanus or Scorpina. He eventually did release a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6d0wh8g70Y re-edited version of season 1]] over a month after his video on ''Megaforce'', and [[AuthorsSavingThrow addressed many of these criticisms]].
** It's possible that his videos began to get really funny with his ''Turbo'' review, but he only really cut loose in his analysis and background research during ''In Space'', and only kept growing it from there.
** Other fans claim HOPR really came into its own at ''Lost Galaxy'', as Linkara's NostalgiaFilter was finally officially off the table, and with the lack of Bulk and Skull, Linkara instead focused more time to individual Ranger analysis, which many fans thought was sorely lacking in his previous reviews.
* HarsherInHindsight:
** When he got to Billy leaving ''Zeo'', he said he hasn't been able to find much information on why it happened, but he had heard it was because David Yost was hard to work with. Shortly afterwards, Yost finally did reveal why he left: he was constantly subjected to shocking verbal abuse over his homosexuality. In the next video to go up, Lewis confirmed that he'd seen the interview and will add it into the ''Zeo'' review in the future (which he did when he redid the video for [=YouTube=], saying that he believes Yost).
** In the wrap-up for RPM he makes a meta joke about Ziggy and Dr. K's actors getting married. They broke up in early 2016.
** In his ''Dino Thunder'' review, Linkara made a joke about how the Rangers got their powers from genocide and extinction. [[Series/PowerRangersDinoCharge Another Dino-based Ranger team]] ended up accidentally destroying the planet in their finale and [[NeverLiveItDown have received no end of flack from it the fanbase]].
** Assuming you believe Samuell Benta's response video claiming his innocence; Linkara's accusations of Benta stealing a banner meant for a Make-A-Wish auction and then purportedly gloating about it after. While rumors of Benta taking the banner have existed for years, it was not until Linkara's massively public forum that the HateSink for Benta ramped up and forced the actor to come forward.
** In the video for "Dino Fury", Lewis makes an offhand joke about a recap for whatever Power Rangers series comes out in 2025 (the year SPD is supposed to be set). The next video in the series, "Cosmic Fury," has Lewis admit that he's not sure if he'll continue History of Power Rangers after Cosmic Fury becomes the GrandFinale of the old continuity.
* HePannedItNowHeSucks:
** Every video is met with some comments calling him an idiot because his opinion is different from theirs, or because he has zero interest in ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' other than for background information relevant to the adaptation (like the weirder parts of ''Turbo'' spawning from ''[[Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger Carranger]]'' being a parody) or if people bug him enough about a certain part [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger The Legend War]] (he eventually watched the Legend War movie and agreed that it was awesome).
** He took steps to avoid it while reviewing ''Operation Overdrive'', stating several times that he doesn't think less of anyone who likes the series and everything he's saying is just his own opinion.
** While discussing ''WebVideo/PowerRangersBootlegUniverse'' in ''RPM'', he makes sure to clearly say twice that it's perfectly fine if you liked it more than him.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** In his review of ''Series/PowerRangersZeo'' Linkara dismissively states that Tommy and Kat’s romance never goes anywhere. ''Series/PowerRangersNinjaSteel'' would reveal that the two got married and had a son together, so much for “goes nowhere”. He's pretty miffed about it in ''Once and Always''.
** In the ''Series/PowerRangersInSpace'' review, Linkara notes that the promotional materials Saban had been given for ''Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger'' showed a space-themed series... but the what they actually got was a video game- and device-themed show. If Saban had just waited 20 years, they would have gotten [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger a series]] that ''was'' actually space themed.
** In his review of ''Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder'', Linkara compares Kira, who is an aspiring singer, to ComicBook/BlackCanary, due to both of them having a SuperScream. In 2015, Black Canary starred in a comic where she was part of a rock band.
** He has a RunningGag of discussing the various Ranger {{Super Mode}}s and concluding that "At least it isn't glitter" because of Season 3's Metallic Armor that was just the regular suits with a thick layer of color-appropriate glitter on them (which were not only underwhelming, but the suits are so brightly colored anyway you often couldn't tell it was different). The reboot movie featured close-ups of the new suits and helmets and comparisons to glittery rock candy came up.
** Any time he complains about the Megaforce Rangers getting too many Zords is this if you've seen ''Goseiger'' and know that there were mecha that weren't adapted - the Exotic Brothers, Mystic Brothers, and Datas Hyper[[note]]Exotic Brothers was only used once, and Datas Hyper wasn't used, since Tensou looks different from Datas; although it's never been revealed why Mystic Brothers wasn't used[[/note]], as well as a Ranger that wasn't adapted[[note]]although said Ranger would have required all-original footage, since Gosei Green, the Ranger in question, only appeared in flashbacks, and even then, his costume was not usable, as it had been damaged during ''Goseiger'''s production[[/note]].
** During one bit of his ''Megaforce'' review, Linkara goes into a rant about how an episode regarding trains is stupid, bringing up how America does not rely on trains as much as Japan does. Funny enough, ''Series/ResshaSentaiToQger'', a Sentai show all ''about'' trains, is considered unadaptable to the point where [[RoguesGalleryTransplant the showrunners had the villains be in different seasons altogether]].
** In the ''Jungle Fury'' episode, Linkara complained that the Rhino Ranger didn't use the horn on his helmet as a weapon. Come ''Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger'', and the yellow ranger used his pointy visor as a weapon in the first episode.
** In his ''Wild Force'' review, he jokes that it would be odd if Zordon had Alpha beat up the Rangers until they agreed to do the job. In the 2017 movie, Alpha actually ''does'' toss the Rangers around a bit until they agree to follow him to meet Zordon.
** In the ''Dino Charge'' review, he mentions that adapting ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGoBusters'' might have been difficult as the suits were not spandex. Fast forward to 2018 as ''Series/PowerRangersBeastMorphers'' was announced at 2018 Toy Fair. Linkara himself points this out come his review of ''Ninja Steel'', pointing to that line in particular when briefly discussing ''Beast Morphers''.
** In the ''Beast Morphers'' review, he mentions wishing there was a crossover between Power Rangers and ''Series/SuperhumanSamuraiSyberSquad''. While it has no ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' representatives, ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars30'' does have ''Anime/{{SSSS GRIDMAN}}'' teaming up with CombiningMecha series like ''Anime/CombattlerV''
** In the video for [=MMPR=] Season 1, Linkara comments on how stupid, yet awesome the Radbug is and complains about how they never brought it back after its only appearance in the show. For the 30th anniversary special, ''Film/MightyMorphinPowerRangersOnceAndAlways,'' they ''finally'' brought it back 30 years later with the Radbug 2.
** In his review of ''Series/PowerRangersCosmicFury'', he brings up some FridgeHorror in relation to the Rangers' plan to let the Zedd-Wave detonate in the Morphin' Grid itself: what if it corrupts the Grid and turns ''every'' Ranger evil? At the same time he released this video, the [[ComicBook/MightyMorphinPowerRangers2022 Boom! Studios comics]] had an ongoing story arc centered on just that -- the Grid is corrupted and every Ranger who morphs becomes a mindless drone under the control of Dark Specter.
* MemeticMutation:
** "When's the next ''History of Power Rangers'' coming out?"[[labelnote:Explanation]]Due to the series' lack of a schedule, it's a common question Linkara is asked by many friends and fellow reviewers in crossovers, and has since spread so that whenever anything TGWTG related is delayed or is taking its time coming out, Linkara's the one asked, even if he has no involvement in the project whatsoever.[[/labelnote]]
*** Lampshaded during [[WebVideo/WhatTheFuckIsWrongWithYou Nash's]] March Megastream, where every then TGWTG contributer ''aside'' from Linkara that showed up was asked this. Everyone gave snarky replies.
*** His rant about this question at the beginning of the original Wild Force episode has been singled out in particular.
** Linkara's review of ''Lightspeed Rescue'' created the [[MemeticBadass "Carter Grayson is a Badass"]] meme.
** It's debatable whether or not Linkara started it, but the clip of Zordon saying, "Too much pink energy is dangerous," has at least grown in popularity since Linkara started using the clip whenever applicable. Of course, said meme being acknowledged in ''Film/MightyMorphinPowerRangersOnceAndAlways'' did not go unnoticed by him, sending him into an [[Funny/HistoryOfPowerRangers existential crisis]].
* MorePopularSpinoff: For some, ''HOPR'' is in a lot more demand than Linkara's main video project, ''Atop the Fourth Wall''. Even so, Linkara has said ''[=AT4W=]'' almost always takes priority over ''HOPR'' (helped by the fact he can only make ''HOPR'' episodes when new seasons have been released with their official [=DVDs=]).
* ReviewsAreTheGospel: In contrast to the HePannedItNowHeSucks above, people who get introduced to ''Power Rangers'' through ''HOPR'' tend to treat Linkara's opinion as law, something that Linkara has spoken against.
