%%* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Dr. Gojo adopting Baby Godzilla is meant to be heartwarming, but on-screen she is also shown feeding him nothing but plants and junk food, making the infant monster's heavy-lidded expression come off as if he's just weak from malnutrition. This in mind, the moment where it sadly tugs at her coat at the end could be seen as him trying to ''eat'' her but being too weak. %%He made no effort to bite her, cried when she sent him away, and had the strength to swim across the ocean with Godzilla. Plus the film spelled out he's a herbivorous species. This could be put in as a joke interpretation, but Alt character interpretation can't ignore what the film does.
* DesignatedHero: The humans could've avoided the plot of the film if they didn't take Baby Godzilla which drives Godzilla and Rodan to go get him, so a lot of the destruction that happened was from their own doing. Not to mention they thought it was a good idea to use Baby Godzilla as bait to lure in Godzilla to kill him which caused Miki to be appalled and start caring about Godzilla later on.[[note]]To be fair, this is a big point of the film: the conflict is not black and white, but morally grey, and the plan to use Baby as bait is heavily criticized within the film by characters we sympathize with. Both Godzilla and G-Force's motives are sympathetic and reasonable. We're meant to be happy when Godzilla ends up the winner in the end, so G-Force isn't wholly depicted as righteous.[[/note]]
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** Ohrai Noriyoshi's [[CombiningMecha design]] for Mechagodzilla on one of the posters. So much so that it was made into a real toy. By extension, [[TankGoodness Naga, Gundalva]] & [[CoolPlane Garuda]] qualify as dark horses too. It was also the design used as the basis for Mechagodzilla in the film ''Film/ReadyPlayerOne''.
** Dr. Azusa Gojo is also one of the few Heisei continuity human characters fans tend to remember besides Miki. Dr. Nick Tatopoulos clearly echoing her for the animated series helped.
* FanNickname: ''The Airplane Toilet'' for Mechagodzilla, which was how one disgruntled fan described the Mecha after being disappointed that it [[SeriousBusiness won in an online monster tournament]].
* FridgeBrilliance: Azusa's speculation that a new dinosaur age will come actually makes a lot of sense in this universe. Professor Mazaki in ''Film/GodzillaVsKingGhidorah'' even theorizes that dinosaurs still live in the modern day in undiscovered pockets of the world. Two Godzillasaurus individuals have been found alive within 50 years, the Godzillasaurus in 1945 and Baby Godzilla in 1993, the latter being alongside a dead Pteranodon skeleton and Rodan, a mutated Pteranodon. Speculating that the dinosaurs could retake the world in a few million years seems like a real possibility, especially when they're turning into radioactive monsters.
* {{Narm}}: as is traditional for the Heisei films, the delivery for most of the English language dialogue in this movie is ''hilarious.'' Special mention must be made of Shelley Sweeney's very [[Creator/WilliamShatner Shatner-esque]] reading of the line "Yeah, LIFE against...artificial...''life''" during what's meant to be a very meaningful moment.
* SoBadItWasBetter: From this film on, the dubbing became boring as most of the hammier, overly enthusiastic dubbers from the older films disappeared, though Rik Thomas remained. Oddly, the existence of an older, unused traditional HK dub [[http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3cmdm4 has been proven]]
* SpecialEffectsFailure: While most of the effects in the film are quite good, the [=RadoGoji=] suit has some very odd proportions when viewed from any angle other than the front or the back.
* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: The film is often seen as a more engaging film story and character wise compared to ''Film/GodzillaAndMothraTheBattleForEarth''.
* UglyCute: [=BabyGodzilla=], though some might argue he's just plain cute.
