* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: The beginning of "The Cutie Map, Part 2" has the DM quitting because they've repeatedly had issues with the way the campaigns turn out (specifically, they want the story to go one way, the players go off the rails and the story goes in a whole other direction) that end with the DM doing something that results in drama that hurts their friendships, and as such they feel that they need to stop DM'ing and work through their issues. A lot of fans in the comments disagreed, saying that the problem is more that the DM and the players aren't a good match as a group, and the DM needs some players who are more willing to stick with their plot and not go off the rails.
* BaseBreakingCharacter: Hoo boy, the comments on the comic are divided on the guest DM playing Discord. Some assume he's acting within the bound of the game and is simply making a few mistakes due to not knowing the group as well and is genuinely trying to give them a fun time, while others assume he's an out and out villain out to punish the players and is a terrible DM. The most contentious curse is Applejack's, as a theoretical "punishment" for her metagaming.
** Similarly, the comments are very much divided on Sunset!DM from the Equestria Girls Guest Arc. One side emphasizes with them and thinks they're just an unexperienced new GM whose panic is fully understandable given the tense situation they're in. The other side thinks they're just a genuinely terrible person and hate their guts. There's also a third camp that's unsure what to think about them. Notably, this comes to a head in the comments for [[http://friendshipisdragons.thecomicseries.com/comics/1373 this comic]].
* HilariousInHindsight:
** [[http://friendshipisdragons.thecomicseries.com/comics/415 This comic]] came out on the same day as the episode "Maud Pie," in which Pinkie creates an obstacle course in which she tries combining everything her friends love into one activity. Note that new comics are uploaded around 8/9 a.m. (depending on Daylight Savings Time) and new episodes typically air around 10 a.m.
** Half of the Smarmony Six (Trixie, Ditzy Doo, Cheerilee) is identical to Fanfic/RainbowDoubleDashsLunaverse cast.
* NightmareFuel: The comic where [[http://www.friendshipisdragons.com/comics/345 Pinkie is having her fake party]] takes a turn from "kinda sad" to "genuinely disturbing" when Pinkie fails a Will save, forgets that the party is fake, and the DM starts speaking for the fake [=NPCs=] she made.
* SidetrackedByTheGoldSaucer: The comments usually include actual Dungeons and Dragons stories (Pony or otherwise) semi related to the current comic, and can prove to be just as interesting/funny as the comic, if not more so.
* TheWoobie:
** Fluttershy's player during the "Dragonshy" arc, when she comes to view herself as TheMillstone.
** Rarity's player during the "A Dog and Pony Show" arc when she realises Rarity and Twilight aren't as close friends in-universe as she'd thought, and again in the "Sweet and Elite" arc after [[spoiler:Rarity gets blacklisted from the Thieves Guild, leaving her unplayable]].
** Pinkie Pie's player when she realises that the GM manipulated her in the "Bridle Gossip" arc, and again when she thinks that the others hated the game she ran. Both scenes use stills from "Party of One".
** Rainbow Dash's player when she tells of a recent experience at a D&D camp, involving her character being conned out of her share of loot.
