* HoYay: PlayedForLaughs between El Santos and Corporal Valdivia, especially in the film.
* MemeticMutation: '''¡CHICHIS POWER!'''[[note]]Boobies Power![[/note]]
* MorePopularSpinoff: The strip first appeared as a small feature in the author's previous work ''La Croqueta''.
* NauseaFuel: Let's say it's not recommended reading the comic book and the film after eating, ''okay?''
* TooBleakStoppedCaring: This is one of the widely-held opinions that really hurt the movie as a whole: despite being a comedy, practically '''everyone''' is an asshole, a wacko, or a pervert in some degree and most of the ToiletHumor is used ''for the hell of it'' rather to have some sense in the plot of the film. The only sympathetic character is Corporal Valdivia and he's the designated ButtMonkey. Another fact that alienated the Mexican audience is [[spoiler:the not-so-implied message the ''[[DesignatedHero so-called heroes]]'' and the audience watching the film are not so different]]. This is somewhat intended by WordOfGod, as Trino was trying to show almost [[spoiler:every single negative stereotype the Mexicans have about themselves and raised up to eleven]].
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotPolitical:
** Despise the over-the-top tone of the comic book (and also the movie), both Trino and Jis always cram some kind of political and social criticism in their stories, while avoiding reaching ''Creator/{{Rius}}''-like [[AuthorTract level of criticism]] and always doing that with a sense of humor, no matter how crass it can be.
** In fact, barring a very few exceptions, the whole comic book '''avoids the whole [[{{Eagleland}} Blame-anything-on-the-U.S.]] cliche really hard'' (which is prevalent in both Mexican culture as well as media), since many of the few American characters that appear in the comic are just as moronic, crude and jerkass-like as their Mexican peers.
** The whole movie can be interpreted as a giant [[spoiler:[[TakeThatAudience Take That against the entire country of Mexico]]]].
