* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The theme song, for the visuals almost as much as the music. Thank you, network, for keeping Music/BearMcCreary as the composer.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: In ''The Imperfections of Memory'', Joseph and Emmanuelle walk by a graffiti-covered wall. The camera lingers and eventually zooms to a specific graffiti: The image of a man that [[EpilepticTrees somewhat resembles]] [[Series/BattlestarGalactica2003 Gaius Baltar]]. Next to the image is written "This is not me, It's just my body vehicle". It obviously has a deeper meaning and may even be some {{Foreshadowing}} but it is never referred to and has no weight to the rest of the episode or the following episodes.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Tamara Adama, in spite of only featuring prominently in two episodes (though her father's mourning for her and his wife is a long-running theme), is one of the most popular characters in the series, almost solely thanks to her part in "There Is Another Sky," where she takes control of New Cap City single-handedly.
* FanonDiscontinuity: Let's just say that the last two episodes are divisive for ''Caprica'' watchers who kept on with the franchise even after BSG's controversial ending.
* GameBreaker: Being a "deadwalker" in New Cap City gives you {{immortality}} and RealityWarper powers.
* HarsherInHindsight: [[https://galactica.fandom.com/wiki/Racism:_An_Unacceptable_Aspect_of_Caprican_Life "Dirt eater".]]
* ItWasHisSled: It became pretty well-known, even outside the fandom, that the child William Adama who appears in this series dies and is '''not''' the Bill Adama who becomes a main character in ''Battlestar Galactica'', who is actually his younger half-brother who was named after him to memorialise him.
* MoralEventHorizon: [[spoiler: Sister Clarice's proposal to the Conclave]] at the start of season 1.5 / season 2.
* NarmCharm: Robot Zoe dancing with Philo.
* OneSceneWonder: William B Davis (The Cigarette Smoking Man) as the Minister of Defense in the pilot.
* ScifiGhetto: In reverse, people not liking the lack of spaceships and battles.
* {{Squick}}: The "Grace by Graystone" ad in 01x13 ("False Labor"). The entire ad just screams "''tacky''!"
* TearJerker: "False Labor"(1x13) Daniel interacts constantly with the avatar of his wife that he made. In one such occasion, he [[spoiler: confesses his crimes to her, and she says she forgives him. Daniel Greystone, who has shown bouts of anger scarcely before, proceeds to verbally abuse the avatar (who genuinely doesn't understand why he's doing any of this) and when asked what he wants, he grabs her by the throat, throws her onto the couch, screaming: "I want you to be REAL! I want you to be HER! My real wife would never forgive me like that - she would call me on all my crap, and walk straight out that door, and probably never come back!"]] Why this is such a hard moment is because [[spoiler: Daniel isn't only confessing what he did, he's also baring, essentially, that he ''knows'' Amanda is right in not coming back home]].
* TooBleakStoppedCaring: It can be hard to find anyone to root for among the main cast.
