* BrokenBase: Depending on who you ask, anywhere starting between chapter 31-33 and onward, either the series introduced a great plot twist and took the story in an interesting new direction or completely ruined the story with a nonsensical plot twist and the story is now an incomprehensible mess. It doesn't help matters that the scanlation group dropped the translation for the latter reason. When the manga got licensed for official release by Yen Press in 2016, only the first five volumes of the series got published as physical books: the remaining half, Volumes 6-10, only received digital publications.
* CompleteMonster: Hanzo Hattori, a seemingly-polite member of the U.N. Providential Government Security Council, is revealed to be a willing accomplice of Gennai Hoshimiya's plan to cause the Second Great Destruction. Hattori kidnaps Sena Hoshimiya for their plans, with their failure causes entire cities to be obliterated. After Gennai dies and Sena lies about her intention of causing a new Great Destruction out of sadist misanthropy, Hanzo admires her apparent sadism and becomes her right-hand man. He helps her to overthrow the government and tries to prevent the protagonists from stopping God from swallowing the world, all of which is motivated because the idea of causing pain at a massive scale amuses him.
* FanNickname:
** "Loli philosopher" or "imouto philosopher" for Sena, mainly because of the book she was seen carrying around labeled "Nietzsche" in episode 2. Considering Eiji's intentions and powers, many viewers find this appropriate.
** Eiji is often called "Edgy" by fans, since his name is pronounced similarly.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: Rin escorting Eiji through a dungeon full of death traps in an attempt to kill him, only for her to fall for every single one of them. Every one of them. HilarityEnsues.
* MagnificentBastard:
** Gennai Hoshimiya, father of Eiji and Sena, performs terrible experiments to connect with the Spirit World and create a happier world. Desperate to save his ill daughter, Gennai betrays his organization and allows his children to ask for a wish, with them accidentally causing the Great Destruction and killing billions throughout the world. Years later, Gennai uses the U.N. as a cover for his real plan, sacrificing Sena to try to fulfill his Utopian goal with the possibility of causing a Second Great Destruction, betting the fate of the world. Kidnapping Sena, Gennai fools the media by presenting himself as a loving father before revealing to her the truth, using her guilt to make her accept her sacrifice and pitting her against Eiji. Managing to open the door to the Spirit World and risking the entire world, Gennai is fatally wounded in a confrontation with the Group of Ten. Admitting his own hypocrisies, Gennai apologizes to Eiji, saying that his only real goal was to atone for his actions and see a world where all wishes are fulfilled.
** Sena Hoshimiya, now aware of her role in the Great Destruction, starts a series of actions to ensure being killed to save her beloved brother from a life as a pariah and destroy all of the remains of her father's legacy. Reuniting multiple Order users and earning their loyalty for multiple reasons, Sena broadcasts her apparent plan to cause a new Great Destruction to the public, using their fear for her plans. Prevailing against the attempts of the Group of Ten to stop her, Senna eventually opens a gate to the Spirit World, taking control of an EldritchAbomination known as "God" and unleashing it on the world, threatening to absorb all of it. A girl considerably smarter than she looks, Sena tries to manipulate her brother into hating her until she forces him to shoot her. Telling him the truth, Sena's last action is to join forces with her brother and use their Orders to control the damage she has caused.
* NeverLiveItDown: Iyo trying to rape Eiji ruined her for many viewers. People will never forget about this, no matter what she does afterward, considering it a MoralEventHorizon crossing.
* SoBadItsGood: The anime adaptation has a reputation for this, due to all the cuts, deviations and extremely bizarre additions that have made the story a lot less coherent and logical. People have hailed it as one of the best nonsensical comedies of the spring 2016 anime season. Some viewers who have read the entire manga even consider the anime to have a better ending than its source material... which is saying a lot!
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids:
** From its S&M undertones to its extreme violence to its depictions of incest and rape, Big Order would make even the most laconic fans sit up and take notice.
