Stephanie [=McMahon=] Levesque (born Stephanie Marie [=McMahon=], September 24, 1976), Chairwoman and CEO of Wrestling/{{WWE}}, is certified American pro-wrestling royalty. The daughter of promoter Wrestling/VinceMcMahon and granddaughter of WWF/WWE founder Vince [=McMahon=] Sr., Stephanie has worked in the wrestling business since she was a teenager answering phones at Titan Tower.

She has worked both in front of and behind the cameras, as a wrestler, a {{heel}} manager for her storyline-husband (and eventual RealLife husband) Wrestling/TripleH, a General Manager for the ''[[Wrestling/WWESmackDown Smackdown]]'' brand, and her 2014 (and ongoing) role as Executive Vice President of Creative Development and Operations (i.e. [[SoYouWantTo/BeABooker head writer]]), as well as a position as WWE's Chief Brand Officer. She took a leave of absence in 2022 to spend time with her family, only to be installed as interim CEO and Chairman of WWE after her father Vince elected to temporarily step down in the wake of an investigation into a pending internal misconduct allegation, before becoming Co-CEO outright with WWE's President Nick Khan after Vince's retirement. She would resign from this position on the 10th of January 2023 after Vince forced his way back into the company again, leaving Khan as the sole CEO.

She is a 1x [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/wwe/wwf-wm.html WWE Women's Champion]], winning the title in her ''debut match'' after [[Wrestling/TerriPoch Tori (Terri Poch)]] DDT'd Wrestling/{{Jacqueline}} and she had to be ''told'' to pin her, something that hadn't happened on WWE TV since Wrestling/{{Kamala}} in 1993, and for completely different reasons. She has one brother, Wrestling/ShaneMcMahon. As mentioned above, she married Paul "Wrestling/TripleH" Levesque in 2003 and they have three daughters.

!! "Billion Dollar Tropes":

* AbortedArc: Her on-camera appearances are so few and far-between that there wasn't really an arc to abort, but they did try to uphold the illusion of Triple H and Stephanie's storyline divorce, mostly because - since everybody and their goldfish knew they were married in real life - it made for some hilarious in-jokes (see the night Stephanie gave birth to her first daughter; Triple H was in the ring congratulating her and [[ButHeSoundsHandsome "That guy who knocked her up"]]). However, at some point, they seemed to simply throw their hands up and say "Forget it," simply claim in kayfabe that they re-married.
%%* AbusiveParents: In-character only, but pretty thoroughly in-character. Vince has actually ''wrestled'' Stephanie in a ''pay-per-view "I Quit" match'' (that took place only a few days before her wedding).
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Subverted, since she has a huge ego and a loud mouth and no problem telling whoever she is talking to at the time how he or she has let her down.
* AlphaBitch: Could slide into this when she was with [[Wrestling/DGenerationX DX]] in the early [=McMahon=]-Helmsley Regime days. Over a decade later, Wrestling/TheAuthority saw her play this role to perfection.
%%* ArchEnemy: Wrestling/ChrisJericho, oh so much during the Attitude Era.
%%** [[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson The Rock]], Wrestling/TrishStratus, Wrestling/PaulHeyman, Wrestling/{{Sable}} and her father have all filled this role as well, sometimes at the same time.
%%** Most recently, Wrestling/DanielBryan and Brie Bella seem to have fit this role for her.
%%** Creator/RondaRousey, a feud which started at [=WrestleMania=] XXXI and continues after Ronda's debut to the company at 2018 which culminated in a match between the two alongside Kurt Angle for Ronda and Triple H for Stephanie at [=WrestleMania=] XXXIV.
%%** In RealLife, it would have to be Wrestling/{{Chyna}}. If Chyna is to be believed, Stephanie was responsible for the lackluster end of her run in the WWE, done as petty maneuvering in regards to her having dated Triple H.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: As she put it on March 2, 2015:
-->'''[=McMahon=]:''' Where would John Cena be without WWE!?
* AssholeVictim: Wrestling/RondaRousey tried to break Stephanie's arm after by putting her already-injured arm in an [[FinishingMove armbar]]. Given Steph's KarmaHoudini status, it was hard to feel sorry for her.
* BaitAndSwitch: She announced that a ''Smackdown'' Diva had been chosen to pose in Playboy and said "congratulations to me!" (and gathered an Earth-shattering pop from the crowd) before elaborating that she meant congratulations to herself for sealing the deal and that Wrestling/TorrieWilson would be in Playboy instead.
* TheBaroness: Her new Red Baron and a rare version who is both the Sexpot (in appearance, moreso in personality before her GM days) ''and'' the Rosa Klebb (in personality since the Authority's formation).
* BattleCouple: With Hunter, occasionally.
* BecomingTheMask: She and Triple H fell in love with each other during their storyline.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Wrestling/ChrisJericho, so much so that [[FanPreferredCouple the fanfic writers]] went bonkers. Every fangirl who ever wrote wrestling fic has a [[IdiosyncraticShipNaming Smoochy Dreamer]] fic in her past.
** The ''Wrestling/{{WrestleMania}} 18'' feud between Jericho and Triple H was [[WhatCouldHaveBeen originally planned to involve]] Jericho and Stephanie having an affair to spite Hunter. Unfortunately, that idea got nixed.
** There was also the love triangle between her, Wrestling/TripleH and Wrestling/KurtAngle in the early 2000's that wound up going nowhere because HHH said there was [[SmallNameBigEgo no way a woman would leave him for Kurt]].
* BerserkButton: Like any [=McMahon=], it's a bad idea to question her power or decisions.
** After she successfully goads him into booking a match with Triple H against Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman goes into a [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech livid rant]], labelling her an underhanded SpoiledBrat. Her reaction to all of this is rather nonchalant, if not outright smug, until he remarks [[MamaBear she'll probably raise her kids to be the same]], [[UnstoppableRage then the gloves are off...]] She was [[KnowWhenToFoldEm a bit more self preserving when]] [[Wrestling/BrockLesnar his client]] [[OhCrap came in to even the odds however]].
* TheBigDamnKiss: With Triple H on Raw's 15th Anniversary, finally acknowledging their relationship onscreen. Also shared one with Eric Bischoff at a Halloween party in 2002.
* BigScrewedUpFamily: What they tend toward in-character.
* BlackComedyRape: When Triple H kidnapped, drugged and married Stephanie in Vegas. She also fell in love with him after that. Of course, it's entirely possible he was lying to mess with Vince's head.
-->'''Triple H:''' The question, [[Wrestling/VinceMcMahon Vince]], isn't ''if'', but ''how many times'' we "consummated the marriage!" ''[thrusting his hips]''
* BrainyBrunette: Has become quite the corporate executive, speaking in front of Forbes and CNN in her new role as Chief Brand Officer.
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Played it in her 20's, but otherwise played it straight.
* BringMyBrownPants: (Like father, like daughter, huh?) When [[Wrestling/BellaTwins Brie Bella]] slapped her at ''Payback'', the camera caught a shot of a dark streak running down the back of Stephanie's dress as she fled the arena, causing some speculation that she had [[BeautyIsNeverTarnished peed herself]] from the unexpectedly-hard smack. Other fans have argued that the so-called stain was part of the dress' design, with the strip of fabric underneath hitting the light at an unfortunate angle. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmD-LdZs2pc&feature=youtu.be&t=13m40s Decide for yourself]].
* BrotherSisterTeam: With her brother, [[Wrestling/ShaneMcMahon Shane]], as owner of Wrestling/{{ECW}} during the Alliance storyline.
** They did team on the July 24, 2000 ''Raw.'' Wrestling/{{Lita}} and Wrestling/TheBigShow defeated them by DQ when Wrestling/TrishStratus interfered and pushed Lita off of the top turnbuckle.
* BullyingTheDragon: While it's pretty much a trademark facet of the [=McMahon=] family, Stephanie has been a particularly suicidal case as of recently. While Vince is usually smart enough to know to keep tormented employees in his power, Stephanie will abuse superstars with the utmost sadism, and then fire them on the spot anyway, giving them nothing to lose, and thus no reason not to bite back.
* ButtMonkey: Much like her Dad, Stephanie was on the receiving end of hilarious abuse during the Attitude Era, typically from Wrestling/ChrisJericho or [[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson The Rock]].
** IronButtMonkey: Again like her father, she is pretty commendable for some of the abuse she takes for a non wrestler. It's always been said that Vince [=McMahon=] would never force any of his wrestlers to do anything he wouldn't do himself (leading to his legendary ButtMonkey status.) Stephanie apparently inherited this from him, as she's definitely come in for her fair share of comedic abuse. A stinkface from Rikishi, becoming a "[[Wrestling/JimRoss Dairy Queen]]" thanks to Kurt Angle, Pedigreed by Wrestling/TripleH at their Kayfabe wedding, tossed in a mud-pit by Vickie Guerrero, the list goes on.
* TheCaligula: During the first few months of the [=McMahon=]-Helmsley Era, the Invasion angle and the Authority stint, she would show how ''horrible'' of a boss she is.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Towards Triple H during her Heel run in the early 2000s. This is pretty much completely nonexistent now.
* ComplexityAddiction:
** One immaterial thing she's [[ItRunsInTheFamily inherited from her daddy]] is his pathological vindictive need to torment top-level employees that cause the family trouble rather than fire them on the spot. Clearly demonstrated in this exchange with Wrestling/RandyOrton in 2009, right before bringing out her brother Shane to attack him for punting Vince in the head:
--->'''Randy Orton:''' FIRE. ME. NOW.\
'''Stephanie:''' Firing you... would be too easy. We have ''bigger'' plans.
** From one of her many confrontations with Austin on the January 1, 2001, ''Raw'':
--->'''Stephanie:''' So [[TonightInThisVeryRing tonight...In This Very Ring]]...you will face William Regal. And the winner of your match will face the winner of the Rock/Kane match, who will face the Undertaker, in a Triple Threat match for the #1 Contendership to the World Wrestling Federation championship on ''[=SmackDown!=]''
* ControlFreak: Also seems to be inherited from her father (during her heel runs, anyway). And much like her father, this often came to bite her back, due to overestimating just how much crap particular employees would take from her. It was her [[BullyingADragon berating of Randy Orton]] that kicked off the horrific feud mentioned above, for example.
-->'''Stephanie:''' This is MY show!
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Most definitely when she's in-character. Some of the rumor mills have painted her as this in real life, due to her yes-man status for her father and the high turnover in the writer's room.
** Reportedly kicked Wrestling/TommyDreamer off of the "creative" team for "making too much sense."
** It's suggested that she and Michael Hayes both blocked Wrestling/PaulHeyman from the writing team.
* CoveredInGunge: Err, it was actually implied to be something a little grosser than that[[note]]to be more exact, it was implied to be a pool of poop, which would probably have to be diarrhea to have the kind of viscosity Steph's pool did[[/note]], but yes, courtesy of Wrestling/VickieGuerrero, Stephanie ended up soaked from head to toe in, um, "gunge." All the faces (and more than a few of the fans) were quite pleased to see the Billion-Dollar Princess all washed up in something befitting of her personality.
* DaddysLittleVillain: Almost as good a heel as her father. It's just hard to top the guy frequently called "{{Satan}}" by commentators.
* DamselInDistress: During the Wrestling/MinistryOfDarkness storyline in which she was kidnapped by Wrestling/TheUndertaker, and later, in the "Love Her or Leave Her" storyline between her brother Shane and Wrestling/{{Test}}.
* DistractedByTheSexy: [[Wrestling/ChrisJericho She's the breast- I mean best.]]
%% * TheDragon/TheDarkChick: Usually serves as one or both.
* DressedLikeADominatrix: She inexplicably dressed like a dominatrix for her "[[AntiClimax climactic]]" match against [[Wrestling/BellaTwins Brie Bella]].
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Her [[FaceHeelTurn Heel Turn]] on [=Vince=] and siding with Triple H at the ''[=Armageddon=] 99'' [=PPV=] effectively set her heel persona in stone.
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** Stephanie was horrified when Kane started to viciously attack Daniel Bryan on the 4/21 Raw, even telling [[Wrestling/BellaTwins Brie Bella]] to run. She also apologized to Daniel on Raw the week after. This is still being invoked with her storyline with Daniel and Brie, seeming to be concerned, though it's starting to appear more like crocodile tears to lead them on while waiting for the other shoe to drop (of course, [[GenreSavvy Daniel and Brie don't believe a word she says.]])
** Stephanie had a similar reaction on the post-''Wrestling/WrestleMania 31'' episode of ''RAW'' when Wrestling/BrockLesnar went on a rampage after Seth Rollins refused to give him a rematch for the title, attacking various people at ringside and putting an F5 on both Wrestling/MichaelCole and a ''cameraman''. Stephanie tried to talk him down, and when that didn't work, didn't hesitate to suspend him despite being a ''huge'' draw. Neither she nor management would let him back on the show until he promised to apologize to those he attacked on live television.
** The way Charlotte Flair treated her father on Raw May 23 2016 was so cruel and self-indulgent it actually made Stephanie read her the riot act in person, calling her an embarrassment to the championship.
* EvilIsPetty: Perhaps her most-needlessly-cruel example -- after already firing then-General-Manager Wrestling/MickFoley for finally invoking TheDogBitesBack against her, she then decided to screw over any Superstar or Diva whom showed him respect on his way out (regardless of whether or not they even did anything to her).
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: The night after she turned on Vince, Stephanie traded the innocent straight hair she had as TheCutie into the sexy crimp and curls that signal her transition into the dark chick.
* FaceHeelTurn: When she first appeared, she was the innocent little girl who somehow remained as such despite having a horrible father. Then she turned on him and got with Triple H as revenge for the Ministry Of Darkness BreakTheCutie plot, causing Vince to leave the company for months in a DespairEventHorizon, leaving her and Triple H as the head of the WWF. She turned out to be ''much'' more capable a heel than she ever was as a face.
* FakePregnancy: The end of the [=McMahon=]-Helmsey Faction was caused by this. She lied to Wrestling/TripleH that she was pregnant to keep their on-the-rocks marriage afloat. When Triple H found out, he was ''not'' happy at all.
* FamilyBusiness: The WWF/WWE, Stephanie being a fourth-generation talent.
* FauxActionGirl: Was technically ''capable'' of wrestling (as in, could take bumps, had a few offensive moves, could even go 1v1 against the likes of Creator/RondaRousey), but mainly stuck to taunting opponents, bitch-slapping, and hiding behind Dad or Hunter or Shane when things got bad.
* FoeRomanceSubtext: With Wrestling/ChrisJericho. Oh so much with Jericho. Everyone and their mother knew that as much as he insulted her, he had a thing for her, and it was implied more than once that ''she'' had a thing for ''him''.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Technically, Stephanie's first WWE appearance was to model hats and other merchandise when she was a kid. From there, she got a job as a receptionist at Titan Tower, the WWE's corporate headquarters. Even when she first appeared on TV, she was TheIngenue in a {{Kayfabe}} romance with Wrestling/{{Test}} dealing with Shane's MySisterIsOffLimits overprotectiveness. Nowadays, she's one of the most famous heels in professional wrestling.
* GenreSavvy: On the September 22, 2014 episode of Monday Night Raw, she overruled [[Wrestling/TripleH her husband's]] orders to have Wrestling/DeanAmbrose thrown out of the building, and instead ordered him to be locked in a closet guarded by multiple security guards, on the grounds that that when a wrestler gets ejected from the arena, they always return. Trouble is, you just can't out-GenreSavvy someone who's so crazy he comes back full circle to being the most realistic guy in the room, meaning Ambrose somehow made it out of one Authority trap and disguised himself in place of another anyway.
* GlamorousSingleMother: Was this in storyline for some time, having given birth to both her RealLife children while, in kayfabe, she was single and the identity of the father(s?) was unknown. Of course, in reality, she was married to Triple H the whole time.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: The boss' daughter is perpetually a heel, and a terrible boss that abuses her employees to boot.
* GoshDangItToHeck:
** After receiving Wrestling/{{Rikishi}}'s [[AssKicksYou Stinkface]] on the May 7, 2001 ''Raw'', she cut a promo on ''[=SmackDown=]'' about having Rikishi's disgusting "bottom" in her face.
** Similarly, during her feud with her father and Wrestling/{{Sable}} in 2003, she accused Vince of siding with Sable after she presumably shook her "fanny" in Vince's face.
* GoThroughMe: On the June 3, 2013 episode of Monday Night Raw, Triple H was determined to wrestle Curtis Axel, despite the fact that Hunter himself was barely in the condition to do so (having collapsed at ringside two weeks before). Backstage, Triple H defiantly told Vince "I'm wrestling Curtis Axel." Vince told him otherwise. Triple H's response: "Who's gonna stop me?" Vince took a step towards Triple H, and Stephanie stepped between Vince and Triple H, [[GenreSavvy knowing]] that [[WouldNotHitAGirl neither of them would harm her to get to the other]].
* GroinAttack:
** She gave Wrestling/ChrisJericho a devastating kick in the family jewels during the June 26, 2000 episode of ''Raw''.
** She held nothing back in giving both Wrestling/BrockLesnar and her own father [[Wrestling/VinceMcMahon Vince]] two devastating kicks to the family jewels during the September 11, 2003 episode of ''Smackdown''.
** She also gave one (this time, a punch) to Wrestling/MickFoley during the March 13, 2017 episode of Raw, after Foley put the Mandible Claw on Triple H.
* HammyHerald: Occasionally serves as this to Triple H, particularly during his Wrestlemania 32 entrance.
->...ThereCanBeOnlyOne who stands in this, the colosseum of the immortals, as the undisputed champion! Only one who takes the breath of his opponents with barbaric fortitude! Only one who wears the sharpened crown! Now ''bow down'', and ''grooovel'' at his feet! He is the King! The King of Kings! The Cerebral Assassin, the Game, '''''TRIIIIIPLE AAAAITCH!!!'''''
* HappilyMarried: Horribly subverted with Wrestling/TripleH in the [=McMahon=]-Helmsley Faction storyline during the Wrestling/AttitudeEra, but RomanceOnTheSet happened and it was played straight in real life, thus becoming a double subversion when WWE acknowledged their real-life marriage onscreen during [[Wrestling/TheAuthority The Authority's]] run in the PG Era.
* HeelFaceTurn: Made a genuine turn as GM of Smackdown. Sadly, see under ReallyGetsAround for how that ended.
* [[HoistByHisOwnPetard Hoist By Her Own Petard]]: A recurring problem of hers is her tendency to forget that after she fires somebody after kicking them around for months, they're under no obligation to play nice anymore. See Vickie Guerrero and the mud pit, Brie Bella and the colossal slap after she kayfabe quit, or Becky Lynch's brief NoHoldsBarredBeatdown on Stephanie, who implored her to be evaluated by a doctor due to her knee injury (and Becky was just suspended, not fired).
* [[BadassInANiceSuit Hot Chick In A Badass Suit]]: In her GM role.
* HotWitch: Dressed as a witch for Halloween in 2002, clearly evoking this, though it was seen as a case of ForHalloweenIAmGoingAsMyself.
* {{Hypocrite}}: It's all well and good that she called out Charlotte on the May 30th, 2016 ''RAW'' for her belittling and practically disowning her father Wrestling/RicFlair, but given that Stephanie slapped the taste out of his mouth a couple weeks before and is a ''beyond''-certified DaddysLittleVillain herself, calling Charlotte a "selfish, self-important brat" rings pretty hollow coming from Steph.
* InvincibleVillain: Runs the company, nuclear heat, can not be dethroned, she's the most powerful Heel (besides Vince), and everyone cowers before her and, unlike Vince, [[WouldntHitAGirl few are willing to give her the asskicking she asks for]]. She's WWE's ComicBook/{{Galactus}}.
* InsultToRocks: On the May 8, 2000 episode of ''[[Wrestling/{{WWERaw}} Raw]]'', Wrestling/ChrisJericho called Stephanie a [[ReallyGetsAround "filthy, dirty, disgusting, nasty, skanky, brutal, bottom-feeding, trash-bag ho!"]] When he was forced to apologize, he did...to all the "filthy, dirty, disgusting, brutal, skanky, bottom-feeding, trash-bag hoes" for even comparing them to Stephanie. He decided that "bargain basement slut" and "miserable slimeball pig" were more appropriate.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: Paul Heyman, in a 2008 interview, referred to Stephanie as "The Vincess". Interestingly enough, she claims [[Wrestling/ShaneMcMahon Shane]] started the term.
* {{Jerkass}}: Consider her family and who her husband is. If she didn't start out this way, she grew into it.
* KarmaHoudini: To varying degrees, but most times she is a Heel antagonizing a male Face, there are naturally limitations how far [[WouldntHitAGirl attacking a female non wrestler]] can be seen as a righteous resolve compared to with Vince. This is evident with the recent feud with the Big Show, while Steph was often most vigorous in tormenting and enslaving him for her gains ([[ForTheEvulz or just for the sheer fun of it]]), most of his retribution seems to be directed to Triple H. As shown above however, some opponents can get creative, so a KarmaHoudiniWarranty will usually come into play.
* LargeHam: Pretty much invented the screechy-heel character that Vickie Guerrero now plays to the hilt. But when she fires somebody (see: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YstQ9Bn206s Chris Jericho]] in 2009, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYvfy0mPxbY Vickie Guerrero]] in 2013), she can be every bit as intense as her dad.
* LaserGuidedKarma: A little bit of justice for all of Stephanie's incessant bullying of her employees came in the form of ''Wrestling/VickieGuerrero'' of all people, who bodily grabbed the Queen of WWE and [[TheDogBitesBack dragged her into a pool of noxious brown slop]] after Stephanie had ''her'' thrown in to make Vickie lose the match and get fired. She would have been able to avoid it by being nicer, or hell, just not setting up such a humiliating match and then standing directly between Vickie and the aforementioned pool ''[[VillainBall while taunting her about getting fired]]''. Just to make Stephanie suffer more, she couldn't even climb out of the pool at first, [[HumiliationConga having to struggle and fall back in for awhile before finally managing to crawl out]].
* LastGirlWins: She was the last woman Triple H dated and had as a love interest on-screen. She has been his partner of 20 years, and married to him for 17.
* [[LikeFatherLikeSon Like Father, Like Daughter]]: From her ControlFreak tendencies to her LoveToHate heel persona to her being willing to personally take vicious physical risks, Stephanie truly is Vince [=McMahon=]'s daughter.
* TheMaidenNameDebate: Kayfabe forced her to dance all around this. She went by Stephanie [=McMahon=]-Helmsley while she and Triple H were Kayfabe married and goes by Stephanie [=McMahon=]-Levesque in real life[[note]]She is even credited under that name in the liner notes for WWE's entrance music albums[[/note]], but since Hunter doesn't [[DoNotCallMePaul go by his real name]], she just goes by Stephanie [=McMahon=] any time she appears in-character.
* MamaBear: As Paul Heyman learned; all he did was ''mention'' her children, and she knocked him to the ground and started whaling on him. Of course, Hunter had warned him at least twice already, so frankly, he kinda had it coming.
** Granted she also threatened Heyman because 1. To infuriate him into placing Hunter against Lesnar in a match and 2. He then labeled her a [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative]] "[[DaddysLittleVillain Daddy's Little Girl]]" [[GenreSavvy out of awareness of this]].
* MsFanservice: While she only showed off her body once (when her shirt was ripped off), there is still an aura about her that makes her more appealing than some of the Divas.
* MoralityPet: Zach Gowen; Vince's degrading treatment of him caused her to snap and level Vince with a TheReasonYouSuck speech that seemed more like her repressed anger at him coming to the forefront.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: A firing variant. What Wrestling/{{Chyna}} claimed that Stephanie did to her in 2001, if she's to be believed.
* {{Nepotism}}: She ''is'' the boss's daughter.
* NeverASelfMadeWoman: Her earliest WWF appearances were modeling hats and other merchandise at the age of 13, and she's never worked anywhere else.
* NeverMyFault:
** After the Alliance lost at ''Wrestling/SurvivorSeries'' in 2001, Stephanie attempts to pin her betrayal entirely on Shane and [[AintTooProudToBeg pleads Vince to forgive her]]. Vince doesn't buy it and orders security to remove her.
** She slapped Brie Bella in the mouth when she was a paying customer and a civilian and was arrested as a result. She spent most of her time after complaining about how bad that was for ''her'' and that she 'didn't deserve it'.
* NonIdleRich: Much like her father and brother, Stephanie doesn't actually need to appear on WWE television, much less take the physical risks she does.
* {{Oireland}}: Her "Irish temper" was mentioned during her match with Wrestling/TrishStratus at the ''No Way Out 2001'' [=PPV=].
* NotMeThisTime: She was claiming this over [[spoiler:Triple H screwing Seth Rollins (and Roman Reigns but almost everyone was indifferent) in the Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Universal Championship, which was given to Kevin Owens.]] Considering she has a hand in many previous screwjobs, she's not easily believed.
* OhCrap: Happens when she fires Wrestling/VickieGuerrero and starts singing mockingly at her…then realizes Vickie (who she now has absolutely no power over) is now ''very'' angry at her, and the pool of muck the match revolved around is now directly behind her.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Seriously, would you believe it's been nearly 15 years since she was appointed the first General Manager of Wrestling/WWESmackDown? Because she doesn't look like she's aged anymore than ''two'' years since then. Between this and the drastic smoothing of her vocal pitch in 2002, we have a woman who looks 30, and [[VocalDissonance sounds 50]], yet is actually 40.
* OutGambitted: On the March 19, 2001 ''Raw''. Commissioner Wrestling/WilliamRegal issued a restraining order to Wrestling/TheUndertaker in her name. However, [[LoopholeAbuse it didn't say anything about]] Wrestling/{{Kane}}, so Taker sent Kane after her. Kane was shown pressing Stephanie[[note]]Well, most likely a stunt woman made up to look like her[[/note]] above his head. Taker told Regal to give Kane what he wanted, which was a match with Wrestling/BigShow at ''Wrestling/{{WrestleMania}} X-7'', and that he, Taker, wanted a match with HHH. Regal agreed.
* PowerStable:
** [[Wrestling/{{DGenerationX}} [=DeGeneration=] X]] (w[=/=]Triple H, [[Wrestling/SeanWaltman X-Pac]], the New Age Outlaws and Tori [Terri Poch]).
** The [=McMahon=]-Helmsley Regime, w/her father, her brother, all of the above, and the Stooges (Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco.)
** The Alliance.
** Became a co-leader of Wrestling/TheAuthority, alongside her husband Triple H.
* PsychoticSmirk: The Awesome tab describes how she gave Triple H a hammer during his match against Sting, saying that she [[https://33.media.tumblr.com/8b82ebba418b0784590108f5ef2e3910/tumblr_nlowxqTEFh1rnjfjfo1_r1_400.gif looks like the embodiment of evil.]] The malevolent smile that crosses her lips as she slowly stands up is what really sells it.
* RapeAsDrama: Implied when Wrestling/TheUndertaker kidnapped her and held her in a seedy motel. This was later implied as one of the two catalysts that led to her aligning with Triple H, the other being the reveal of her as a pawn in Vince's overall scheme to screw over Steve Austin.
** Happened again in LighterAndSofter form when Wrestling/RandyOrton cuffed Hunter to the ring ropes and kissed an unconscious Stephanie.
* ReallyGetsAround:
** A basic tenant of her heel character, to the point that when she appeared pregnant for the first time, it was implied that she was sleeping around and managed to bed Triple H, who knocked her up and thus sparked their character's reconciliation. Even to this day, it's still implied that she will sleep with a potential minion as incentive to do her dirty work.
** Subverted during her Smackdown GM run, as it was implied that she was trying to turn over a new leaf, putting her promiscuity and sycophant traits aside and generally being a decent boss and person. Sadly, she forgot that Vince loves sycophants, leading to her being forced into matches with Big Show, Brock Lesnar, and ultimately Vince himself (a street fight no less), finally being forced to quit. The trauma of her father assaulting her coupled with her losing her job seemed to cause her repressed traits to reemerge, leading to her character's current iteration.
%%* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Later into her stint as Smackdown GM and her appearances on Raw circa 2009.
* RecognitionFailure: Why former WWE Diva Amy Zidian was fired -- she not only did not recognize Vickie Guerrero, she didn't recognize ''Stephanie'' and was incredibly rude to both. Even when she was informed who they actually were, she refused to apologize and was promptly shown the door.
* RedBaron: The aforementioned "Billion Dollar Princess" and later the Billionaire [[TheBaroness Baroness]] / [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Queen of WWE]].
%%* RichBitch: Her early character. She seems refreshingly normal outside the ring.
* SanitySlippage: That time she and Triple H (in-character) wanted to renew their wedding vows, Hunter found out Steph had lied about her pregnancy and trashed the ceremony (Protip: If you're going to attempt TheBabyTrap on your boyfriend, make sure that the actor you hire to play your doctor isn't currently on a late-night infomercial.) Steph ''Flipped. Her. Shit''. WWE, any time that footage is reused, almost without fail, turns her scream at the end into a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UJcevBAyyo deep ''roar.'']]
%%* ScreamingWoman: Good god, listen to some of her heel [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFijSAC6r1k promos]].
%%* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections
%%* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney
%%* ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem
%%* SelfDeprecation: If anyone should, it's her.
%%* SheIsAllGrownUp: Well, duh. For over a decade, she had a theme song ''called'' "All Grown Up."
* SiblingYinYang: Stephanie likes the spotlight, Shane plays it cooler (well, except for the times he has gone or been put through the announce table.
* SleepsWithEveryoneButYou: It's been implied that the main reason why Jericho insulted her so much was because she was easy... for everyone except ''him''.
%%* SlutShaming: Well, Jericho and the fans tried, but it didn't really take.
%%* SmugSnake: During her heel phase as Stephanie [=McMahon=]-Helmsley.
%%** Even as a Face she tends to be this, whatever side she is on she has an unsavvy tendency to [[BullyingADragon bicker or try to kick around dangerous Heels]], this usually ends with her becoming a patsy used against another more prominent rival such as Hunter.
%%** Seems to have returned to this state big time since her FaceHeelTurn as GM in 2013. Perhaps most evidently her treatment of Wrestling/TheBigShow [[TheDogBitesBack leading him to manipulate legal politics against her]]. As he bluntly pointed out, you can't blackmail employees with the worst after [[VillainBall you just do it for kicks anyway]].
%%** Repeated against Vickie Guerrero of all people in 2014. After a particularly elaborate and sadistic firing (involving a mud wrestling pool), she continues gloating her ass off. Vickie gives her former BadBoss a few seconds to realize [[OhCrap she's left her with no reason to grovel before her for anymore]], just long enough to cower before Vickie thrown her by the hair into her own pool.
* SpoiledBrat: The core of her Heel persona in early years. Toned down as she matured, though foes still like to snide her as "Daddy's Little Girl". Shows up when the Authority's power in the WWE is on the line against Team Cena. She assumes win or lose she'll still have her power offscreen. Her reaction to her father telling her that's not the case is to assume he's somehow rigged an escape clause for her and Hunter...and it left speechless when that's not the case. The idea that her father would let her actually lose her power never occurred to her.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: When she was with Wrestling/DGenerationX.
* StatuesqueStunner: She's 5'9"[[note]] 1.75 m for you metric folks.[[/note]]. She also tends to wear high heels more often than not, which gives her the impression of towering over almost every Diva, and even some of the male roster.
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Her tendency to slap the taste out of people's mouths finally came back to bite her on the 7/21/14 episode of Raw. She came out and argued with and eventually slapped Brie Bella, who had Kayfabe quit weeks before and was in the audience as a fan (and civilian.) Brie, in turn, promptly called the police and had Stephanie arrested for battery.
* TakeThatKiss: A number with Triple H, the crowner probably being their in-ring smooch during the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ-eC3qhAyk "[=McMahon=] Family Reunion"]] segment (before their marriage was official on-air canon).
-->'''Stephanie:''' [[Wrestling/VinceMcMahon Dad]], you have serious problems. You've embarrassed this family long enough. It's time I embarrassed you. ''[makes out with Triple H]''\
'''Hunter:''' [[NoFourthWall See ya]] [[HappilyMarried at home]], Steph! [[LameRhymeDodge Ooh, I mean, your brother's a gnome]]!
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Is famous for these, but special attention goes to the once she gave Vince on the 6/19/03 Smackdown.
** For context; Vince sent Sable (who was his concubine at the time) to seduce and humiliate Zach Gowan, who was looking for a contract. After humiliating Gowan, Stephanie confronted Vince and railed on him not just for Gowan's humiliation, but for reminding Stephanie about how Vince pimped her out to business associates when she was 17; this one line went a long way towards explaining Stephanie's promiscuity, sleeping around in order to "please" Vince, and also explained why she was trying to turn a new leaf. Unfortunately, all this did was piss Vince off enough to set in motion the events that led to Steph being forced to quit her GM job and revert back to being "Daddy's Little Girl".
* TheTease: Most noteworthy when she was announcing who was chosen to pose for ''Playboy''.
* UnconventionalWeddingDress: Her 1999 wedding to Test, where she is wearing a white dress, is interrupted by her "drunken wedding" video of her marrying Wrestling/TripleH in red top and jeans in a car. When Main/LifeImitatesArt 4 years later, she was wearing white.
* UrbanLegend: One has persisted for a long time that (at least part) of the reason Wrestling/RandySavage left WWE in 1994 and never returned was because he got in bed with a then-underage Stephanie (who would'be been 18 and of age at the time he left). Randy's brother Lanny has also said he believes there was some form of romantic relations between the two. Obviously, now that Randy is A) deceased and B) in the Hall of Fame, this will almost certainly not be mentioned by WWE anymore.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: She wasn't a complete AlphaBitch when she first debuted, quite the opposite in fact. During her father's feud with the Undertaker, she was shown to be quite sweet and innocent ([[WhiteSheep especially in comparison]] to the rest of her family). [[BreakTheCutie All of this changed]] when Taker kidnapped her. By the time she made her FaceHeelTurn in 99' and aligned herself with Triple H, any traces of her previous persona where gone.
* VaporWear:
** Her feud with Triple H, starting with the failed "wedding" described below, saw her suffer ClothingDamage and demonstrated that she hadn't bothered to wear much underneath.
** The March 11, 2002 ''Raw'' saw her try to escape from HHH in the ring and he grabbed her pants and exposed her bare ass.
** That Thursday on ''Smackdown'', HHH went for the Pedigree on an announce table and her breasts fell out of her dress.
* VillainousBreakdown: Had one on Raw March 10th, 2014 when [[Wrestling/BryanDanielson Daniel Bryan]] managed to get an ''army'' of fans to storm the ring and occupy it to force her and Triple H into giving Bryan what the Authority had been denying him, screaming her head off that she owns them.
** Has a bigger one at Survival Series 2014 when Team Authority is defeated, resulting in her and Hunter being stripped of their power completely. She engaged in a tantrum not seen by her since the end of the Attitude Era.
** She has one on the 12/21/15 show, the week after Roman Reigns won the WWE Title. Dean Ambrose has just beaten Sheamus in a Cage Match and Todd Phillips makes the mistake of interviewing her, resulting in her slapping him repeatedly.
* VocalEvolution: While she might be forever known for that whiny screechy harpy voice, in recent years, her voice has seriously mellowed out, with her voice becoming smoother and more authoritative as time has gone on, leaving Wrestling/VickieGuerrero to pick up where she left off. Some have called VocalDissonance
** The Villainous Breakdown, however had her go harpy for first time in ''over a decade'', albeit in a lower pitch than her 20's. Frankly, she sounded less shrill and more demonic (or at least more female!Vince-like).
* {{Warrior Prince}}ss: Being the daughter of WWE's owner, she can be considered as such.
* WeddingSmashers: Thrice involved. First came the infamous "satanic wedding" angle with Wrestling/TheUndertaker and the Ministry Of Darkness in the spring of 1999, where Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin eventually saved her from a lifetime of torture. Later in 1999, she was to be married (in kayfabe) to [[Wrestling/{{Test}} Test (Andrew Martin)]], only for the whole event to be upstaged by Triple H, who drugged her and married her while unconscious. Later, when Steph agreed that the vows were legitimate and became a scheming heel, the kayfabe marriage continued until Triple H decided he was tired of Steph's lying; the two would try to work out their differences and it appeared that they had to a point where they agreed to renew their vows ... until Triple H learned that Steph's "pregnancy" was a sham. Triple H ended the wedding right there and exposed her on national television, knocking her down so that one of her breasts was sticking out of her dress.
** Makes it all the more ironic that Triple H and Steph's real-life wedding was a low-key affair, at least until 2009 when it was intentionally brought up by Triple H on-screen, after years of humor alluding to it.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After T&A split up on the January 1, 2001, ''Raw'', there was a scene in Stephanie's office where Albert told her that if she needed anything she could call him. This was forgotten almost immediately after.
* WouldntHitAGirl: Exploits this trope to dish endless cheap shots to male wrestlers, knowing they wouldn't dare hit her back (though sometimes, mostly accidentally, they did, [[https://youtu.be/QkXz6DMYXrg?t=580 here's a notable example]]). She even Lampshades this after delivering a hard smack to Wrestling/TheRock and goads him as powerless. He agrees with her, she didn't quite expect him to bring in UFC Female Champion Ronda Roussey to [[CurbstompBattle even the odds however...]]
* WrestlingFamily: Fourth-generation and proud of it.
* {{Yandere}}: If she's a heel.
* [[YoungerThanTheyLook Younger Than They]] [[VocalDissonance Sound]]: While Stephanie has always looked fairly age appropriate if not [[OlderThanTheyLook younger than her own age]], her voice radically changed around early/mid-2002 (most likely due to her role as the ScreamingWoman during the [=McMahon=]-Helmsley era). By early-2003, she sounded more like she was 46 than 26 (her actual age at the time).
