The forgiveness came only a couple months after the end of their fighting over it. To be fair, Matt still had to prove himself by helping Jeff a lot before he was trusted again (during Jeff's feud with Wrestling/CMPunk, who Jeff hated far more if only for the fact that Punk was a sanctimonious jackass who ''wasn't'' family), and Jeff rebuffed his initial apology during their "I Quit" match by putting him through a table, breaking Matt's arm in the process.

While Jeff is confident in his abilities, he's also humble and openly acknowledges and accepts his faults, but also won't tolerate any disrespect. Punk, meanwhile, has an over-inflated ego with a hidden savior complex and superiority complex, and looks down on those who don't live up to the same standards he has. This is one of the reasons their rivalry worked so well; they were the perfect foils to each other and it translated into their dynamic.

On top of being risky, those moves tend to hurt him almost as much as they hurt his opponent. In RealLife, Jeff has jumped between WWE and TNA several times due to his inability to keep off the drugs, and those same problems arguably prevented him from reaching his full potential as a performer. When it comes down to it, nobody has screwed over Jeff Hardy more than Jeff Hardy.

In fact, he excels so much as a face that TNA was openly ridiculed for trying to turn him heel during the infamous Immortal storyline; while Jeff tried to make the most out of the situation with his oddly compelling "Anti-Christ of Professional Wrestling" character, whatever potential it might have had was cut short thanks to ''Victory Road''. Nobody has entertained the idea of turning Jeff heel since.

It worked too, his merchandise sales were usually second only to and at times surpassed John Cena. His problems outside of the ring kept him from getting a bigger push most times in spite of this status and success.

Of course, in real life, even in his early twenties he was obviously in pain as he walked. He's had a surprisingly few amount of serious injuries for his style of wrestling.
