Born on June 1, 1977 in Franklin, Tennessee, James Allen Cox, better known by his ring name "The Cowboy" James Storm, is an American professional wrestler currently employed by Wrestling/{{TNA}} and [[Wrestling/NationalWrestlingAlliance NWA]]. He is a former five-time[[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/us/tna/tna-t.html TNA World Tag Team Champion]], a former [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/us/tna/tna-h.html TNA World Heavyweight Champion]] and former one time [[http://www.wrestling-titles.com/nwa/others/nat-h.html NWA National Heavyweight Champion]].

!! "Sorry about your damn tropes!"
* AffablyEvil: The Revolution were as nasty as ever in Puerto Rico, but they appreciated being there and the politeness of the fans all the same.
* TheAlcoholic: Well, he did ride a beer cooler to the ring, and he still carries at least one bottle almost everywhere he goes. What differentiates him from Rhino is that Rhino treats alcoholism as a disease and refuses to drink since he lost his dad to it at 15, almost lost his daughter to it, apparently running in his family, and having lost a marriage to alcohol consumption. Storm lost his dad the same way and 12 but doesn't care. He persists in drinking and considers refusal to drink with him an insult. That Storm in no way seems impaired also makes him a DrunkenMaster.
* AmazonChaser: In direct contrast to [[StayInTheKitchen Bobby Roode]].
* ArchEnemy: Triple X (Wrestling/ChristopherDaniels[=/=]Wrestling/LowKi[=/=]Wrestling/ElixSkipper), Daniels[=/=]Wrestling/AJStyles, [[Wrestling/{{Rhyno}} Rhino]], [=LAX=], [[Wrestling/TheDudleyBoys Team 3-D]], [[Wrestling/JamesMitchell the New Church]], Gunner.
* AtrociousAlias: His opinion on the Bro-mans, as it makes them sound like romantic partners.
* BadassLongcoat: His entire career in TNA, with the exception of most of Beer Money's run.
* BashBrothers: A frequent tag specialist, Storm has held the Wrestling/{{N|ationalWrestlingAlliance}}WA/TNA tag team titles with four different partners.
* BerserkButton: Cheating in drinking contests, spiking drinks, people who try to pass off non alcoholic beverage as the real thing, messing with his family...
* BraidsOfAction: A braided ponytail.
* BreakingSpeech: Has had fun giving Sanada these in order to break the young Japanese wrestler down, telling him that Wrestling/TheGreatMuta (Sanada's mentor) was a fraud whose ways were turning Sanada into a loser (Sanada had dropped his X-Division title back to Wrestling/AustinAries and failed to get it back). He was able to successfully get to Sanada, who would turn against Muta and become a part of his "Revolution".
* BuxomBeautyStandard: One of the reasons he enjoyed Wrestling/{{Jacqueline}}'s company is because she's stacked. Seeing her drunk off her ass and pouring beer down Traci Brooks' shirt made his day. He also made it clear that unlike Jacqueline, Traci's "gifts" were about the only reason he had any time for her.
* CatchPhrase
** "Sorry, about your damn luck!"
** With Beer Money:
--->'''James Storm:''' BEER!
--->'''Bobby Roode:''' MONEY!
* {{Crossover}}: Unfortunately, then TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode was unable to make it to the World Wrestling League's 2014 ''Navidad Corporativa'' event. Fortunately for the fans, perhaps not for La Artilleria Pesada, TNA World Tag Team Champions James Storm and Abyss could. It looked like they had taken out Lighting, but despite heavy bleeding he managed to continue the match, he and Thunder battling The Revolution to a no contest.
* {{Cult}}: His antics in his revolution, which involve emotional manipulation, unprovoked assault, forced makeovers, kidnappings to a shed in the woods and demands to spread his word have caused some to call him a cult leader.
* DanceSensation: Impact Wrestling was infected by the Harlem Shake and not even James Storm in his most hostile state of mind had any resistance to it.
* DisproportionateRetribution
** Great Muta apparently disrespected Storm somehow when they were both in Wrestling/{{WCW}}, so Storm's decided to welcome Muta to TNA by verbally degrading him to his student Sanada, inflating the pressure Sanada felt he was under to succeed under Muta's directive, and turning Sanada against Muta.
** He asked Wrestling/MickieJames to leave her husband and raise her newborn baby with him for his Revolution. When she rejected his offer, he said he respected her decision, [[ILied then pushed her in front of a train]].
* {{Expy}}: Considered to be one of both Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin and Wrestling/ShawnMichaels. His "Revolution" gimmick is called out as one of [[Wrestling/TheWyattFamily Bray Wyatt]], but he himself claims it was more inspired by Wrestling/KevinSullivan. Seeing as how he was a vengeful crusading grandmaster and not an evil spirit possession, the man has a point.
* FlippingTheBird: While applying a Fujiwara arm bar he forced Eric Young to flip off the fans cheering him on at the 2007 ''Turning Point''.
* GoodIsDumb: Dumb enough to put his number 1 contendership on the line just because Bobby Roode made a comment about his daughter. He lost.
* GrievousBottleyHarm: He "blinded" Chris Harris by hitting him with a beer bottle.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Remember when he turned on Chris Harris and ended AMW with one of his trademark beer bottles? Beer Money ended the other way around.
* InsaneTrollLogic: He accused Gunner of sabotaging him by telling Bobby Roode where he was the night that Roode would jump him. He has no evidence of this and it's probably more likely Roode took an educated guess based on being, y'know, Storm's ''tag team partner for 3½ years''.
* {{Jerkass}}: As a heel. He only cares about alcohol and revenge.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Storm complaining about Gunner stealing the World Title case and throwing in the towel during Storm's tournament match with Wrestling/BobbyRoode, which took place the night after Roode ambushed Storm in a bar. While Storm really has no room to argue on losing out on the "Feast or Fired" briefcase (Gunner low-shotted him and took the case, which had the World Title shot) since it was every man for themselves, he does bring up that he's been in bar fights before and doesn't always wrestle at 100% the following night. Plus, he specifically told Gunner not to get involved in his street fight with Roode, and yet there he was throwing in the towel.
* MoodWhiplash: On Controla PR, talking about how much he loves Puerto Rico, sight seeing, drinking, wrestling, until he's asked about the island's best tag team "La Artileria Pesada" and goes on a rant about how that means nothing because he and Abyss are the best tag team in the world.
* NeverMyFault: After Eddie Edwards was injured, The Revolution competed in a tournament for the vacant tag team titles and were knocked off in the first round by the Hardy Boys when James Storm super kicked Khoya. Naturally, Storm blamed the loss on Khoya.
* PapaWolf: Messing with his daughter has serious consequences. Just ask Wrestling/BobbyRoode, who faced serious consequences like [[ComicallyMissingThePoint …a World Heavyweight Title shot?]][[labelnote:context]]In late 2012 Roode goaded Storm into putting his title shot on the line by making a remark about Storm's daughter, which set Storm off. Roode wound up winning the match.[[/labelnote]]
* ThePowerOfHate: James Storm is clearly at his best when he's fighting someone or something he hates, so once his character started getting stale, TNA decided to run with it and turn him into a heel chock full of bitter piss and vinegar to go around. His "outsider" gimmick to the NWA seems similarly-motivated.
* PowerStable:
** Planet [[Wrestling/JeffJarrett Jarrett]].
** [=Fourtune=]-> Wrestling/{{Fortune}}.
** Immortal.
** The Revolution with Seiya Sanada, Manik, Abyss and [[MeaningfulRename Khoya]].
** R'n'B Security with Cassidy Riley, Chris Harris and Chris the Bambikiller.
* PowerTrio: Ran the Death Crew Council alongside Bram and Eddie Kingston in late 2016.
* PretenderDiss: Vowed to put a stop to Mexican America in TNA for being a disgrace to the great luchadors that had came before them.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: After briefly leaving TNA he came back at the start of 2016 to save Wrestling/BobbyRoode from a beating at the hands of Eric Young and Bram and, declaring his intention to start having fun again, called for a Beer Money reunion. Roode accepted for a short while before leaving for NXT.
* RedBaron: "The Tennessee Cowboy".
* TheResenter: He harassed Seiya Sanada for weeks, calling him a failure to Wrestling/TheGreatMuta, shame to his country, daring him not to choke, the like. Then Storm attacked Sanada when he continued to ignore Storm's taunts. Turns out James Storm did not like the fact the rest of the TNA locker room regarded the Great Muta as a legend, insisting that he is the legend in TNA, and was taking it out on Sanada since Muta was not in reach.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: When in America's Most Wanted he went on one against LAX after Hernandez border-tossed Wrestling/GailKim. He also went on one against [[Wrestling/KenAnderson Mr. Anderson]] for using his offer for a friendly drink to ambush him, as well as both Bobby Roode and Gunner for costing him world title opportunities.
* ShoutOut: Does the last name of Storm and the Last Call Superkick, remind anyone of a certain Lance Storm?
* SpearCounterpart: To Jacqueline during her "Miss Tennessee" run in TNA.
* SpitefulSpit: He may love his beer but is not above spitting it on those who spite him.
* TagTeam: (Unofficially) America's Most Wanted with Cassidy Riley. (Officially) America's Most Wanted with Chris Harris. Beer Money Inc. with Bobby Roode. Gunstorm with Gunner. The Revolution with Abyss via Feast or Fired briefcase.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork
** America's Most Wanted were forced into this with Triple X against The Naturals and Team Canada when AMW's Chris Harris accidentally won the NWA World Tag Team Title with Triple X's "Prime Time" Elix Skipper. When Skipper and Harris were learning to get along, Daniels and Storm ended up accidentally winning the belts from them, putting the whole situation back to square one.
** Has had this with Bobby Roode in recent one-off Beer Money reunions.
* UndyingLoyalty: Even when Wrestling/AJStyles himself left TNA, Storm stuck around, and his departure in 2015 was (according to most sources) primarily monetary-driven, as Storm had to provide for his family, but he returned when the outside money ended up not being what he was led to believe.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: He and Seiya Sanada abducted Manik in public, in an arena full of people no less. Them holding him hostage is broadcast on national TV. No one working for TNA seemed to care.
* WeUsedToBeFriends
** America's Most Wanted and Gail Kim used to be close, but then he dumped Harris with a beer bottle to the eye. Chris Harris and Gail Kim remained close actually while Storm ended up replacing Gail with Jacqueline.
** Bobby Roode from Beer Money Inc., and to a lesser extent, every other member of Fourtune/Fortune.
* WhatTheFuAreYouDoing: During his TNA stint, he once tried to use nunchucks on an opponent, but ended up hitting himself in the head with them.
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: Wore this with Kingston and Bram in the DCC.
* WouldHitAGirl: [[InvokedTrope Counted on]] when Bitch Slap went after America's Most Wanted in TNA, in an effort to raise the profile of women in the company. Unfortunately, injuries they suffered in matches against men like Storm ended up ''[[GoneHorriblyWrong lowering]]'' the profile of women in the company, making it illegal for men to fight women.
* WrestlingDoesntPay: For a small period his character had the makings of a BadGuyBar called "Storm's Bar & Grille" in the works, with Bobby Roode hanging around the place. Knowing Roode's character at the time, one could've implied that he'd made an investment into Storm's venture. This idea would be dropped when they became Beer Money, however.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Banished Seiya Sanada from The Revolution and TNA Impact for losing in the first round of the "Classic Tournament" to Gunner.
