''The Mr. Men Show'' is an animated television series adapted from the original Mr. Men animated shows of the [[TheSeventies 1970s]], [[TheEighties 1980s]] and [[TheNineties 1990s]], which were based on Roger Hargreaves' book series, ''Literature/MrMen'' and ''Little Misses''. ''The Mr. Men Show'', however, differs from the older versions in that it eschews the morality tale format and takes a sketch comedy approach to the characters. Each episode features short comedy sketches, dance numbers and music videos.

It was produced in Glendale, California, by Creator/RenegadeAnimation. The series was directed by Mark Risley; executive producers were Eyrk Casemiro and Kate Boutilier.

The show originally aired on February 4, 2008, in the United States and February 25, 2008, in the United Kingdom. It originally aired on on Creator/CartoonNetwork in the United States, but stopped airing it after the show ended, and reruns in the UK ended in 2015, though all but one UK episodes can be viewed on Website/YouTube ... IN HD!

Each episode is made up of two 11-minute shorts. There have been two seasons, each with 26 episodes.

There is also an unrelated 1997 series also called ''The Mr. Men Show'' that redubbed the UK-French produced ''WesternAnimation/MrMenAndLittleMiss'' shorts and presented them with [[FramingDevice live-action comedy segments]].
----
!!These tropes are CHEAP!:

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: More like Accessory-Wearing LivingPolyhedron.
* AccidentalHero:
** Despite Miss Whoops' accidents being disastrous, her accidents sometimes saved Dillydale from pranks and problems.. For example, she saved Dillydale from Miss Naughty's pranks by running over her wagon and accidentally running her cart into Miss Naughty herself. She also ran over Mr. Rude's truck that saved Miss Bossy from the ParkingProblems.
** Mr. Scatterbrain also falls into this category at times. He once saved Miss Calamity in "Boats" after the S.S. Stubborn sank, and also opened up the can of peas Mr. Bump was stuck in "Canned Goods".
* AdaptationDyeJob:
** Mr. Quiet was a yellowish brown in the original books; in the show, he is pale blue.
** Mr. Lazy was pink in the original books; in the show, he is green.
** Miss Magic was light brown in the original books; in the show, she is orange.
** Both Mr. Tall and Miss Giggles were light blue in the books, but were changed to dark blue.
** Miss Whoops was dark blue in the books, but changed to light blue to match her brother.
* AdaptedOut: Because of the long history of characters, most of them didn't appear in the show.
* AliensStealCattle: This happened in "Full Moon".
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never stated whenever or not the Mr. Men and Little Misses' skin colors are actually part of their body or they're just FurIsClothing. Characters like Mr. Messy and Mr. Nervous exposed their feet closeup, but then you have characters like Mr. Grumpy and Miss Chatterbox having [[BodyPocket Body Pockets]].
* AmericanGothicCouple: Mr. Grumpy and Miss Scary were in the position of how the painting was shown at the beginning of "Farm".
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: As always.
* {{Animesque}}: This series feels a bit like an anime, especially with the typical Anime sound effects put to use. It also helps that the slight feel of it (ala twinkle eye and pupils disappearing when feared sometimes) is done also by Creator/RenegadeAnimation, the studio behind ''WesternAnimation/HiHiPuffyAmiYumi''.
* AnachronismStew: According to the play seen in "Dillydale Day", the city of Dillydale was founded by Viking settlers who enacted a sort of Thanksgiving with the local ''caveman'' population. Also, this ''city'' was ruled by a Marie Antoinette-esque queen at some point, who was deposed in a revolution.
* AnimalsHateHim: Mr. Bump. Animals always attack him first even though there are other Mr. Men or Little Misses who are much closer to reach. This ranges from bees to reptiles, and even ''fish''.
* AssemblyLineFastForward: Mr. Lazy's segment in "Jobs" deals with him trying to place the cupcakes in boxes, but couldn't hold up once the conveyor belt is going faster. He ends up eating a majority of the cupcakes, which end him up in a stomach ache.
* BananaPeel:
** Mr. Messy in "Fruit" tossed one on the ground after eating. He eventually picked it up when he saw Mr. Bump almost touching it, though he ended up getting injured by Mr. Bounce instead.
** The second bumper in "Fruit" has Mr. Strong getting a banana from the tree by shaking it, but a peel fell out of it and causes Mr. Strong to slip. Thankfully he wasn't injured.
* BanisterSlide: Miss Scary slides down her stairway in "Up and Down".
* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace: Somewhat an odd case. Episodes like "Picnic", "Sun and Moon" and "Outer Space" shows that the characters need to wear spacesuits when in space. But other instances like in "Games" show that they can breath in it.
* BeachEpisode: "Beach", "Seashore", and "Sand and Surf".
* {{Bedheaditis}}: In "Sneezes and Hiccups", [[CharlieBrownBaldness what little hair Mr. Stubborn has]] is messy when he has a cold.
* BigOlUnibrow:
** Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Stubborn are Type I. They are two of the more negative personality characters, and the only two to have big unibrows.
** Surprisingly Mr. Quiet, Mr. Scatterbrain, and Mr. Messy are Type II.
** The other characters also have Type II ones on occasion.
* BigRedButton: The Sleepy-time relaxomatic vibrating chair has a red button that makes it go crazy and go amuck.
* BirthdayEpisode:
** The whole episode "Birthday" deals about Mr. Grumpy's birthday.
** Mr. Fussy and Messy's segment in "Gifts" deals with them sharing the same birthday.
* BlackBeadEyes: All the characters and creatures have this. The only exception is the snow monster in "Bad Weather".
* BlatantLies: "Oh sure, I'm a trained professional."
* BlindWithoutEm: Miss Whoops.
* BookEnds: Most episodes starts with the narrator saying 'Ah, [subject matter for this episode]', then repeating it at the end.
* BrilliantButLazy: Mr. Lazy would rather build a fully-functioning machine to do his work than do the work himself.
* BrokenSmile: Mr. Happy gets that more then once. C'mon, you didn't think he was REALLY happy when he was running for his life (like everyone else) in the ship from "Boats" did'ja?
* BunniesForCuteness:
** The show has a lot of cute bunnies.
** Mr. Bounce dressed up as one for Miss Sunshine's surprise party in "Surprises".
* ButtMonkey: [[TheChewToy Mr. Bump]], Miss Calamity, Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Quiet and Mr. Fussy/Persnickety.
* ByTheLightsOfTheirEyes: This happens when the characters are in the dark. In "Sneezes and Hiccups", the characters have colored eyes when the lights go out.
* CabinFever:
** Mr. Fussy's segment in "Travel" deals with him sharing a run down cabin with Mr. Strong, Mr. Messy and Mr. Tall. It first starts raining, the power goes out and the cabin starts sliding off the mountain thanks to the mudslide.
** The last segment in "Bad Weather" has Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Quiet and Miss Scary snowed in a log cabin until the weather gets tamed. The conflict is about Mr. Grumpy and Miss scary arguing about the existence of a snow monster, while Mr. Quiet is looking over the windows and seeing the monster.
* CampingEpisode: The episode "Camping" deals with the Mr. Men and Little Misses camping out in the woods.
* CanonForeigner: Miss Calamity and Miss Daredevil are created specifically for the show. Both Mr. Scatterbrain and Stubborn also count in one way, as they don't have anything in common of the Little Misses they're based after other than their names.
* CarryingACake:
** Miss Calamity carried one in Mr. Grumpy's commercial for the Tickle Protector, but dropped it thanks to Mr. Tickle. This animation was recycled in "Rainy Day" except it's Mr. Rude who bumps her.
** Mr. Messy was carrying "one" (it was a blob of messy thanks to Mr. Stubborn) in "Birthday", but Miss Calamity collided with him thanks to the drips of batter and dropped it.
* CatchPhrase: Everyone has one:
** "Crooked cucumbers!" for Mr Grumpy.
** "Poopity poop!" for Mr. Bump, when an injury has taken place or is about to take place.
** ''''"I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"'''' But Mr. Noisy often tells others to be quiet. The one he uses the most is "It's SUPER!".
** "Yo, [insert a Mr Men or Little Miss name here]" and "Aw pickles" and also "[[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength Aw pickles, I hardly touched it.]]" for Mr. Strong.
** And "Where is my head?" for Mr Scatterbrain. (Also, "Why didn't you say so?".)
** "This (x) is Cheap!" for Mr Stubborn.
** "Just trying to be helpful." for Little Miss Helpful.
** "Wonderful!!!" for Mr Happy.
** "I THINK SOMEBODY NEEDS A TICKLE!" for (who else?) Mr Tickle.
** "I'll give you (x)", followed by a fart, for Mr. Rude.
*** "MR. RUDE!" by everyone else immediately afterward.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Little Miss Calamity is never mentioned after season 2.
* CirclingBirdies: This happens to the various characters if they get knocked out, they would often have circling stars above their heads.
* CircusEpisode: The episode "Circus" deals withe Mr. Men and Little Misses trying to put on the big top.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Mr. Scatterbrain, as befits his name. In "Airports", when he can concentrate long enough to print off two tickets and two luggage tags for Mr. Happy and Mr. Rude, he puts the tag on Mr. Happy and puts him on the conveyor belt, and gives the ticket to his suitcase.
-->'''Mr. Happy:''' I've never boarded a plane flight like this before!\
'''Mr. Scatterbrain:''' Your suitcase will be in seat 22B, if you need it!
* ClockTower: Dillydale has a clock tower, which resembles an arm with the clock in the shape of a wrist watch. Mr. Tickle and Mr. Bump had to fix it.
* ContinuityNod:
** "Out to Sea" has a segment that features Mr. Happy's television crew finding Mr. Stubborn and Little Miss Chatterbox's ship which sank in "Ships"[[note]]It also sank in "Boats", but that time, Little Miss Calamity, who was removed in the second season, was his first mate rather than Little Miss Chatterbox[[/note]].
** In the episode "Bad Weather", when Mr. Strong is going to fix Mr. Fussy's leaky ceiling, Mr. Fussy mentions about the last time that happened when Mr. Strong tried to fix it, which happened during a Season 1 episode. And what do ya know? Mr. Strong does the same exact thing as before!
* ContinuitySnarl: Throughout the episodes, the houses always change their locations.
* ConstructionZoneCalamity:
** Mr. Nervous' daydream in "Construction" has him trying to climb through a dangerous constriction zone to get hi screwdriver, but the end reveals he was playing around a model version of the set.
** The last segement of "Skyscrapers" takes place in a construction zone.
* CoolTrain:
** There's the Dillydale Express, a passenger train that takes the citizens anywhere in the area.
** The miniature steam engine Mr. Bounce was driving in "Trains and Planes".
* CoversAlwaysLie: The official [=YouTube=] page tends to use screencaps from completely different episodes for their thumbnails, e.g. "Home Improvement" ironically uses a screenshot from "Bugs", while "Goo" uses a screenshot from "Up and Down".
** Also applies to the 2015 UK DVD releases of the show, which feature the original books' art style on the cover.
* CulturalTranslation: Because of cultural differences, the dialogue between the English dubs were changed.
** Mr. Persnickety was referred to as "Mr. Pernickety" in the first season and his catchphrase was changed from "Sweet Henrietta!" to "[[{{Woolseyism}} Sweet apple strudel!]]"
** Some words that are okay in America were changed overseas due to either those countries don't understand or because they might be offensive. Like "buggers" was changed to "nippers" or Miss Helpful's "fanny pack" to "bum bag" due to it being offensive in the UK.
** The answer Mr. Grumpy states when Miss Sunshine was playing the piano is "Does she have to play like a looney bird?" in the US, but was changed to "Is it the Dillydale National Anthem?".
** Mr. Grumpy's order of rice and beans was changed to bangers and mash.
* DeadpanSnarker: Mr. Grumpy and Mr Rude.
* DeliberatelyMonochrome: This was done in some scenes of Miss Scary's music segment in "Full Moon", with just only her being colored while the backgrounds are in black and white.
* DemotedToExtra: Despite being introduced in the second season, Mr. Tall and Little Miss Curious were mostly seen in non-speaking background roles. Each only got one speaking role (Little Miss Curious had ''two lines total''). This is in contrast to other season two characters such as Miss Giggles, Miss Bossy, and especially Miss Magic, who had the most screentime of any of the second season characters.
* TheDentistEpisode: Mr. Quiet's segment in "Clean Teeth" has him going to the dentist to get his teeth clean, but it's ruined thanks to Miss Whoops.
* DigitalDestruction:
** The transition of the frogs from "Science" is stuck after Miss Naughty leaves in the US dub, but not in the other dubs.
** The European dubs have the audio formatted slightly pitched and a bit faster. This is averted for the French audios in the US DVD releases and the separate uploads on the official Website/YouTube page.
** The official [=YouTube=] uploads of the episodes "Radio", "Lunch" and "Surprises" accidentally leave in the internal production slate at the beginning, while "Wildlife" leaves in a couple minutes' worth of black screen after the end of the episode, followed by a version of the intro and end credits ''without any sounds or text''.
** Like with Transformers Animated, the show was made in 16:9, but as cropped to 4:3 in television airings.
* DisembodiedEyebrows: Zigzagged a few times. Many of the characters eyebrows can be like in certain shots.
* TheDitz:
** Miss Sunshine. She's sweet and adorable, sure. But she hasn't enough brains to fill an eggcup.
** Miss Chatterbox is frequently too busy talking to pay much attention to anything else she is doing.
** Mr. Scatterbrain has the attention span of a goldfish; at one point in "Airports", he almost staples his own nose while distracted.
** Little Miss Whoops is blissfully unaware of the chaos she causes everywhere she goes until it is too late.
** Miss Helpful is anything but, generally leaving the people she tries to help more lost or frustrated than ever.
* DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength: Mr. Strong. Most of his appearances involve something breaking, which leads to his CatchPhrase. "Aw, pickles. I ''hardly touched it.''"
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: [[https://youtu.be/CAanOfpp-X4?t=8m45s You wanna get that milk? You gotta tickle it out!]]
* DownOnTheFarm: The episode "Farm" deals with the Mr. Men and Little Misses working at the farm, such as feeding pigs, milking the cows, loading hay bales and getting eggs.
* TheDoorSlamsYou:
** In the online music video for "Bump in the Night", Mr. Scatterbrain slams the door onto Mr. Bump just as he was trying to open it.
** Mr. Stubborn slammed the door onto Miss Sunshine in "Eyeglasses" when she was about to leave.
** In the bumpers of "Supermarket", Miss Naughty slams the doors onto the third customer who tries to leaves the store. She did this to both Mr. Bump and Messy, but this backfires when Mr. Strong goes through.
* DressedToHeal: As part of its sketch comedy nature, any time the characters are portrayed as doctors, they'll have the the headband with mirror and stethoscope.
* DriveInTheater: Dillydale has their own drive in theater, which was the subject for the episode "Cinema" where Mr. Fussy was trying to watch a movie.
* DrivesLikeCrazy:
** Some characters like Miss Whoops and Mr. Scatterbrain are like this due to their oblivious.
** Mr. Stubborn is like this at times, though it's because of how he is, or because he's wearing a hat that obscures his sight.
** Mr. Bump is often like this, though it's either because of how luck gets to him.
* DropInCharacter: Mr. Nosy (unsurprisingly) and Mr. Small. Miss Chatterbox also has no problems inviting herself in.
* DroppedGlasses: In one part of the episode "Eyeglasses," Miss Whoops, as a flight attendant, accidentally loses her glasses when a pile of carry-on luggage falls on her. She attempts to carry on with her duties regardless, but since she's BlindWithoutEm, the [[HilarityEnsues usual ensues]]. At one point, Mr. Nervous gives her his own glasses, telling her she needs them more than he does. This doesn't help, since they have different prescriptions.
* EmbarrassingSlide: In one sketch from the episode "Eyeglasses", Mr. Stubborn (as an eye doctor) is showing slides of various objects to test Mr. Happy's eyesight. After pictures of a windmill and a zebra, the slides suddenly show {{Embarrassing Old Photo}}s of him before showing a picture of a chicken.
* ElevatorFailure: This happens in "Skyscrapers", when Mr. Grumpy and some of the others inside got stuck after Mr. Scatterbrain pushed all the buttons.
* ElongatingArmGag: There are multiple gags where a character temporarily grows their arm to reach something from far away. Unlike Mr. Tickle, the characters don't have it as an actual ability and it's merely used as a joke.
* ExtremelyOverdueLibraryBook: Mr. Bump's segment in "Library" deals with him trying to return a book that is about to be due. The first time, the books was overdue. But his later attempts try to avoid this, but something always hold him back. As such, his payment is getting a tickle from Mr. Tickle.
* FacePalm: Mr. Bump, Mr. Quiet, and Mr. Grumpy did this a couple times in the series' run.
* FacelessMasses: This often zigzags, at least within the first season. Crowd shots are usually shadows but colored in. "Boats" actually showed some other characters that were modeled, though they're just mix and matches or existing characters.
* FantasticFruitsAndVegetables: Mr. Scatterbrain created a food tree in "Cooking", after placing all the instant food packages he bought from Miss Helpful into a large food tree.
* FauxHorrific: Mr. Nervous has a panic attack about there being an olive in his sprouts at the salad bar without even noticing the plastic bug Miss Naughty had put in the sprouts.
* FencePainting: This happened in the bumpers in "Paint", where Mr. Nosy and Mr. Small are looking through a fence, but get themselves painted by someone else on the other side.
* FictionalHoliday: The episode "Dillydale Day" focuses on the town's history.
* FoundingDay: "Dillydale Day" deals with the citizens of Dillydale celebrating the day Dillydale was founded.
* FourFingeredHands: The entire cast of this series.
* FrenchJerk: Mr. Rude in both the UK and US versions.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Mr. Scatterbrain, who has an entire menagerie of animals that he seems to [[HammerSpace pull out of nowhere]].
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: Despite having a total of 31 characters by the time the show ended, quite a few characters never hang out with others except they're in groups. Even then, they never had much interaction. This is most likely because the show writers wanted to do more familiar pairings they worked with. While viewers may agree in some way, they also wish that show could do some experimentation. These include:
** Miss Calamity with any of the second season characters due to the fact she was removed in that season. The only characters she was with Miss Giggles and Mr. Tall in both Miss Sunshine and Mr. Strong's comic, but never interacted.
** Mr. Fussy and Mr. Grumpy only appeared together in "Flying" and "Shoes". This is likely because they're somewhat similar, even though they aren't.
** Mr. Funny only interacted with Miss Giggles, Miss Sunshine, Miss Scary, and Mr. Grumpy.
* FlyInTheSoup: This happened in the third segment of "Pests", where a fly is is flying over Mr. Quiet's soup and tries to swat it.
* GagSeries: The series deals with a series of short segments.
* {{Gasshole}}: Mr. Rude, which is to be expected with someone whose entire persona is having poor manners. In addition to farting as a RunningGag, he also burps as well.
* GassyGastronomy: In "Canned Goods", Mr. Happy reveals that Mr. Rude, who is legendary for being a {{Gasshole}}, is a taste-tester in a bean factory.
* GenderFlip: Mr. Scatterbrain and Mr. Stubborn are Little Misses in the books.
* GenkiGirl:
** Miss Daredevil.
** Miss Bossy is a more negative version.
** In fact, pretty much all the Little Misses have traits of this.
* GermanicEfficiency: The very particular and efficient Mr. Persnickety/Mr. Fussy has a German accent in the UK dub.
* GiantSpider:
** One appears in Miss Helpful's basement in "The Dark".
** The bumpers in "Pests" deals with one crawling to the characters' picnic. Miss Scary scares it in the last bumper when that said spider was eating a picnic.
* GirlishPigtails: Miss Sunshine, Miss Giggles, Miss Naughty and Miss Helpful.
* GlassSlipper: In the episode "Shoes", a play based on Cinderella about the glass slipper fitting on the right girl who might've came to the ball. It fits Miss Chatterbox, but it broke apart after Miss Scary frightened everyone in the play.
* GreatGazoo: Miss Magic.
* HandcarPursuit: Mr. Bump and Miss Helpful used one in "Trains and Planes" when trying to fix the rails. They, alongside Mr. Grumpy in the epilogue tried to get away from the oncoming train Miss Whoops was driving, but makes them bounce off.
* HeWhoMustNotBeHeard: Mr. Funny, who is inspired by Harpo Marx of the Creator/MarxBrothers.
* HeatWave: This is the topic of the episode with the same name, as the characters try to deal with the heat.
* HoldUpYourScore:
** The third segment in "Physical" has Mr. Nervous, Quiet and Persnickety flipping the score votes in the sport event.
** The last segment of "Dance" has the judges Miss Chatterbox and Mr. Messy holding the scores on the dances. Only Mr. Rude doesn't vote with the cards.
* HostileShowTakeover: In the second season, Mr. Messy hosts his own late-night talkshow. One segment is about his new music video, but before he can proceed, Miss Bossy bursts in and takes over hosting, rightfully reasoning that Mr. Messy can't interview himself.
* HotPotato: The last segment of "Toys" has Mr. Fussy, Mr. Messy, Mr. Scatterbrain and Mr. Tickle playing a game of "Tickling Tomato", a toy that the characters have to toss before the timer runs out. This causes mayhem for them as the other didn't cooperate.
* TheHyena: Variant. Little Miss Giggles has something in her head that makes her laugh all the time.
* HypocriticalHumor:
** Mr. Noisy telling others to be quiet.
** Mr. Stubborn has this line: "Some people think they know everything!"
** Also Mr. Rude: "Some people have no manners."
* ImpossibleLeavening:
** This happened to Miss Calamity in the episode "Restaurants" where she accidentally added too much yeast while making the cinnamon buns.
** A non-food example happened to Mr. Persnickety in "Trains" after Mr. Rude's collection of instant sponges had water added, which causes him to be stuck in the cabin.
** Mr. Fussy dealt with this in "Radio" when taking to make a dish Miss Helpful was instructing in her cooking show.
* IncessantMusicMadness: This happened in "Music", where Mr. Noisy was playing music very loud in the night while Mr. Quiet is trying to sleep.
* IneptMage: It usually takes Miss Magic several tries to get the results people want from her.
* InevitableWaterfall:
** In one sketch from "Lake", Mr. Stubborn goes over a waterfall while going to a calm stream.
-->'''Mr. Happy:''' So, Mr. Stubborn, what do your keen instincts tell you now?\
'''Mr. Stubborn''' ''(from the bottom of the stream)''''':''' [[PunctuatedForEmphasis That. This. Stream. Is. CHEAP!]]
** Mr. Bump fell over one in "Camping".
* InflatingBodyGag:
** Mr. Rude ended up getting himself inflated when blowing up his swimming ring.
** In one of the bumpers for "Construction", Mr. Noisy tries to destroy a group of buildings using a pump, but he ends up being inflated.
** Miss Whoops accidentally inflated helium into her brother Mr. Bump in the bumpers of the episode "Parties".
* InstantMassJustAddWater:
** In "Trains", Mr. Rude has a collection of instant sponges that expand when water is added. Mr. Messy accidentally sprayed the cabin that they started erupting, leaving Mr. Persnickety stuck.
** Miss Helpful was selling packages of instant food in "Cooking". Mr. Scatterbrain thought that it needed to be planted, so he planted all the boxes with water, which actually caused it to make a food tree.
** Miss Scary in "Gifts" gives Mr. Nervous a box of monster sponges, that like with Mr. Rude's example expand when water is added.
* InstrumentalThemeTune: If Mr. Bump saying "The Mr. Men Show" at the end, as well as all the characters saying "The Mr. Men" four times at the beginning, doesn't count.
* IrisOut: Many of the segments end with this transition.
* ItCameFromTheFridge: Mr. Persnickety's segment in "Chores" deals with him trying to get rid of his moldy blue cheese. While it never grew into a monster, it started pounding his refrigerator and grew into his house at the end, though that was Miss Calamity's fault for spreading it all over when trying vacuum it.
* {{Jerkass}}: Most negative personality characters have traits of this, particularly Mr. Rude.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: However, Mr. Grumpy tends to treat people (and animals) with a reasonable degree of politeness and civility, even if he's rather brusque with them and and quite vocal about his opinions.
* KarmaHoudini: Some of the characters who cause harm to others like Miss Naughty, Miss Scary, Miss Whoops and Mr. Noisy never get any consequences for their actions.
* {{Keet}}: Mr. Tickle and to a lesser extent Mr. Bump.
* KingKongClimb: The bumpers for "Skyscrapers" had a giant gorilla holding onto a tall building while having Miss Sunshine as a hostage.
* KitschCollection:
** The episode "Collecting" deals with the characters owning a collection of certain things.
** Mr. Rude had a collection of instant sponges in "Trains".
* LargeHam: Mr. Bump and Mr. Persnickety at times.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Mr. Funny has one.
** BootstrappedLeitmotif: The tune first appeared in the episode "Yard Work" from season 1, when Mr. Funny was not even on the show!
* LibraryEpisode:
** The opening and ending sections of "Books" takes place in a library. Only one sketch in the episode takes place in one that has Mr. Persnickety trying to get a book, but gets kicked out due to him being blamed for the ruckus, despite that it was Mr. Strong and Miss Daredevil causing it.
** "Library" takes place in this setting.
* LipLock: This tends to zigzag in the British dub. Most of time is not bad, though some dialogue change tend to not match with the mouth flaps.
* LivingShadow: In the episode "Sun and Moon," this is shown to be the case with Mr. Funny's shadow.
* LockedInTheBathroom: Miss Calamity got herself stuck in the bathroom in the episode "Trains", but gets out by taking the long way out. She accidentally shoves Mr. Noisy in the same bathroom later.
* LockedInARoom: Mr. Nosy, Mr. Small and Mr. Scatterbrain got locked in the peanut cellar of Mr. Scatterbrain's house in "Night", though they were recused by Penelope later in the segment.
* LongList: In "Camping", Miss Helpful was reading a long instruction list of what the company who made the instant tent, mostly talking about what other products they made. Mr. Stubborn just wanted her to get to the actual directions.
* LowClearance:
** In "Trains", Miss Calamity was riding the rooftops of the Dillydale Express after being locked in the bathroom. But she gets bounced across above the tunnel after hitting it.
** Mr. Persnickety in "Sightseeing" gets hit during a bus tour from a tunnel due to it being the lowest, and the fact he's taller. He hangs onto the tunnel at the end.
** This was the main conflict for Mr. Rude's segment in "Trees", when his monster truck was too tall to fit through the tree tunnel.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: Mr. Stubborn has one: "This X is CHEAP!"
** "I'll give you X." ([[{{Gasshole}} honk]])
*** [[SayMyName MR. RUDE!!!]]
* MadeOutToBeAJerkass: In "Restaurants", when Mr. Persnickety calls Mr. Rude out on his behavior at a place they're dining at, [[ButtMonkey naturally]] the former gets thrown out by Miss. Helpful.
* ManEatingPlant: The chef in Mr. Scatterbrain's restaurant was a man-eating plant. It tried to eat Mr. Grumpy.
** Also, in the beginning of the episode "Science." The plant tried to eat Mr. Bump.
* TheMall: Dillydale has their own mall that appears in a few episodes.
* {{Manchild}}: The characters are all adults (considering that they all live on their own and work jobs), yet most of the time they have the intelligence and mannerisms of children.
* MeaningfulName: Most of the characters' names describe their basic personalities, although Miss Helpful is an inversion; her attempts to help the other cast members generally leave them worse off than before. This is played straight in the French dub, where she is called ''Mme. Catastrophe''.
* MediumBlending:
** The Miss Calamity statue seen from "Trees" is a realistic image of an actual figurine from Australia, but it's edited with a different face in style of the show.
** A scene from the music video "Beach Party A Go Go" has a scene of Mr. Bump and Mr. Strong surfing behind real footage of ocean waves.
* MessyHair: One way Mr. Messy's scribbles can be interpreted as.
* MimeAndMusicOnlyCartoon: This is the basis for most of Mr. Funny's segments, the only thing you hear are Mr. Funny's honking, the sound effects and music.
* MinimalistCast: An interesting variation in that while there is a decent total of 31 characters in the show, no other characters are shown apart from them, not even [[RecurringExtra recurring background characters]], and they seem to be the only people living in Dillydale. The only time we get a glimpse of other Mr. Men and Little Misses is FacelessMasses when crowds are shown, as well as a few modeled characters in "Boats".
* MisterDescriptor
* MoonwalkDance: Mr. Grumpy did this in the website exclusive music video of "Dillydale Dance Floor".
* MotorMouth: Miss Chatterbox.
* MultinationalTeam: The characters in both the US and UK dub have a variety of nationalities/accents.
* NegativeContinuity: Aside from a few continuity nods, things will go back to normal at the next episode (eg. Mr. Bump turning to a book, but is back to normal in the next episode).
* NeverSmileAtACrocodile:
** Mr. Noisy and Mr. Bump in "Wildlife" were trying to find the Great White Alligator for a magazine, so Mr. Noisy uses a whistle to attract it. But he never saw it and instead ate Mr. Bump.
** In "Reptiles", Mr. Stubborn runs a swamp tour and doesn't believes there's any alligators. Three of them ended chasing his boat and caused it to sink at the end.
* NeverWakeUpASleepwalker: The last sketch in "Sleep" has Mr. Persnickety sleep walking into Mr. Nosy and Small's house and cleans their house up while sleeping walking. Nosy asks Small if they should bother waking Persnickety up, but Small suggests no as they prefer getting their house cleaned up this way.
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: In different sketches, various characters will have different jobs. The episode "Jobs" reveals that this is actually a way of life in Dillydale, as everyone gets a new job on Tuesday that lasts for a week.
** It would seem necessary for them to keep changing jobs - if a certain Mr. Men or Little Miss stayed in one job all the time (such as Mr. Scatterbrain or Little Miss Whoops), they would run the business to the ground or cause lots of destruction with it.
* NightmareFetishist: Miss Scary.
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: Little Miss Scary.
* NoFocusOnHumans: Unlike the books, this series does not include any sort of humans. The only exception they somewhat showed humans was in Miss Daredevil's song on "Dance, Dance, Dance" where pairs of long legs are shown.
* NoIndoorVoice: Mr Noisy. His name flat out says that of him.
* NoodleIncident: Mr. Grumpy's memoirs apparently make for riveting reading, according to Mr. Small.
* OddCouple: Mr. Fussy and Mr. Messy. Miss Daredevil and Mr. Quiet. Mr. Rude and Miss Chatterbox too.
* TheOneWhoWearsShoes: Like in the books, there are a few characters who would wear shoes as their permanent attire. There would be a few occasions those who wear shoes would have them off in a few segments. The characters who wear shoes are Mr. Persnickety/Fussy, Mr. Nervous, Miss Calamity, Miss Chatterbox, Mr. Messy, Mr. Nervous, Miss Magic, Mr. Tall, Mr. Funny, Mr. Small, Miss Helpful, Miss Daredevil, Mr. Rude, Mr. Noisy and Mr. Lazy.
* OnlySaneMan: Mr Grumpy, Mr Quiet and Mr Fussy (Mr Persnickety in the 1st season). Mr. Happy could also count, but he's too busy being the StepfordSmiler.

* PanFromTheSkyBeginning:
** "Rainy Day" begins with a shot of the sky before storm clouds begin to cover the sun. The camera then pans down to the ground, where the Mr. Men are doing things in the rain.
** "Sun and Moon" starts with a shot of the sun in the sky (hence the title) before the camera pans down to Mr. Bump and Miss Sunshine laying down beach towels.
* ParanormalInvestigation: Mr. Nosy and Mr. Small run a ghost hunting service in "Full Moon".
* ParkingProblems:
** Miss Bossy's segment in "Next Door" deals with her trying to get Mr. Rude move his monster truck out of her driveway, which he refuses to. She decides to order a tow truck to move it, which then causes a argument between the two. This was solved after Miss Whoops accidentally flattened Mr. Rude's monster truck, making her an AccidentalHero.
* ThePianoPlayer:
** Mr. Persnickety/Fussy plays one a few times, but his solos get interrupted by someone else.
** Mr. Tickle played a pipe organ in "Music", but got his arms tangled up in the pipes while doing so.
** Miss Sunshine played in "Music" when playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in the game show ""What Do You Know About Music?"
* PicnicEpisode:
** "Rainy Day" has a segment with Mr. Bump and Mr. Stubborn having a picnic in the rain.
** The episode "Picnic" deals with the characters handling picnics.
** "Lunch" has a segment with Mr. Fussy having a picnic with Mr. Messy, Miss Chatterbox and Mr. Quiet.
* PieInTheFace: This happens a few times. Best example was in "Fair".
* ThePigPen: Mr Messy.
* PoolScene: The episodes "Hotel" and "Travel" both have segments that take place at a pool.
* PutOnABus: Miss Calamity in Season 2. According to [[WordOfGod Mark Risley]], it was because Chorion hated her.
-> '''Risley''': [[https://www.deviantart.com/percyfan94/art/Mr-Men-Show-Q-and-A-with-director-unofficial-649701092 Chorion didn't like her. That's the only reason.]]

** Miss Naughty in the commercial in "Pests" has her selling a service that she can use some troublesome rabbits to take food from the gardens.
* RememberTheNewGuy: The characters that were added in the second season were never given any backstory about where they came from. Though it can be hand waved that either that they existed before or they moved to Dillydale afterwards.
* RetroUniverse: The series is set in modern times, but has a retro feel.
* RoadApples: Miss Whoops accidentally stepped on dog poop in "Jobs" when she and Mr. Bump were loading a piano.
* RubberMan:
** Mr Tickle. His arms can stretch to any length to reach any Mr Man or Little Miss to give that character, as his name suggests, a tickle. (The original cartoon had his arms extra-long the entire time, but the animators found this too hard to animate in the new version.)
** Mr Bounce, who's known for bouncing around the place, like a giant yellow ball.
** Many of the various characters can count as well if they can stretch their arms and legs in various shots.
* RubeGoldbergDevice: Many of Mr. Lazy's devices run a Rube Goldberg kind of device.
* RuderAndCruder:
** The show itself in comparison to the rest of the ''Mr. Men'' series. The tone is much DenserAndWackier, some gross-out humor is used, and the tone of the show is considerably more mean and cynical. In contrast, the books typically have a laid-backed, lighthearted feel and only rarely use anything seen as "gross", such an instance being a reference to YellowSnow in Mr. Nonsense's book.
** The second season's tone was even wackier and more into slapstick. Characters like Mr. Bump and Mr. Quiet's misfortunes got played up more often, and Mr. Rude's flatulence sounds were changed from cartoon honk noises to more realistic flatulence (though this first happened on the official website between the seasons).
* SameContentDifferentRating: When the show first aired, it was rated TV-Y. By the second season, it was bumped to TV-Y7. Why it changed is never stated, though it's speculated that the sound effects for Mr. Rude's flatulence changed from normal honks to actual passing gas.
* SayMyName: "MR. RUDE!!!"
* TheScream: Mr. Noisy had a painting based on it with Mr. Happy screaming in the episode "Clocks".
* SeriesMascot: Mr. Bump is the show's de facto mascot, appearing on the title card, being present in every single episode, and appearing in more merchandise than book mascot Mr. Happy.
* SicknessEqualsRedness: In "Sneezes and Hiccups", Mr. Stubborn's cold gives him a pink nose.
* SinkingShipScenario: This is usually the plot for Mr. Stubborn if he is the captain of a ship, and it often sinks due to an iceberg.
* SketchComedy
* SmellySkunk: In the last segment of "Wildlife", Mr. Persnickety tells Mr. Messy about that he should not pick out trash at 3 in the morning, as it would attract skunks. Persnickety encounters skunks sleeping in his bed later when he was going back.

** Averted for Miss Scary who is the boyish looking Little Miss in the series. This can cause some viewers being confused about her as a boy.

* ThickLineAnimation
* ThoseTwoGuys: Mr. Small and Mr. Nosy often hang out together.
* ThreeShorts: For the Cartoon Network airings, the two shorts are put together as one episode.
* TightropeWalking:

* ATwinkleInTheSky:
** Both Mr. Bounce and Mr. Small were thrown in the sky in "Beach" and "Snow, but without a twinkle.
** Mr. Bump did get this in "Games", as he was shot into space.
* UnwantedAssistance: Little Miss Helpful isn't always help, especially to ButtMonkey characters.
* VagueAge: Everyone, though Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Stubborn, and Mr. Fussy seem a bit older than the others.
* VisualPun: Mr. Strong is now shaped like a triangle. Physically, triangles are the ''strongest'' shape in maths.
* WackyRacing:
** The second segment in "Cars" has some of the Mr. Men and Little Misses having a car race, though the shenanigans happen when Miss Scary tries to scare the other racers and the fact that Mr. Quiet was stuck in Miss Daredevil's car.
** Mr. Strong's music video "Burning Rubber" in "Driving" has the characters racing around the course, but end up going in the wrong way.
