''Super Best Friends Forever'' is a series of animated superhero comedy shorts created by Creator/LaurenFaust for Creator/CartoonNetwork's WesternAnimation/DCNation block. The cartoons feature Comicbook/{{Supergirl}} (Kara Zor-El, voiced by Creator/NicoleSullivan), ComicBook/{{Batgirl}} (Barbara Gordon, voiced by Creator/TaraStrong), and ComicBook/WonderGirl (Donna Troy, voiced by Creator/GreyDeLisle) fighting crime and their adventures as [=SBFF=]!

Five episodes were made and aired throughout 2012, with these minute-long shorts including:

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjetNApdZ4U "Invisible Joy Ride"]]: Wonder Girl is ready to help her sister Wonder Woman in the world of man, but her friends Batgirl and Supergirl are more interested in hijacking the fabled Invisible Jet.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ti0bJfWBfg "Time Waits for No Girl"]]: Poison Ivy is attacking the city, and Batgirl has to race across Gotham to meet up with her friends to fight the menace.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6tz2Q9RyUI "Grounded"]]: Kara is grounded, but Batgirl and Wonder Girl convince her to sneak out to fight crime. She just has to get by her Cousin of Steel first.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQJWO5O8vcY "Name Game"]]: While fighting [[Franchise/WonderWoman Cheetah]], the girls argue whether or not "The Super Best Friends Forever" is a good name for their little team or not.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkDJIf2_M5o "Don't Fight Girls"]]: The team tries to get in a fight with [[Characters/GreenLantern1941 Solomon Grundy]], but "SOLOMON GRUNDY NO FIGHT GIRLS!"

Lauren Faust would go on to pitch the idea of expanding the shorts into a full-length series, but was turned down. Years later, Faust was able to recycle many of the concepts seen in ''SBFF'' when she became showrunner for the television series ''WesternAnimation/{{DC Super Hero Girls|2019}}'', based on the [[Franchise/DCSuperHeroGirls media franchise]] of the same name.

Has '''absolutely nothing''' to do with WebVideo/TwoBestFriendsPlay, which was renamed Super Best Friends Play when Woolie and Liam joined.
----
!!These shorts have a jet-load of tropes!:

* ActionGirl: All three main characters are being written by Lauren Faust and are proteges of the DC Trinity (Franchise/{{Superman}}, Franchise/{{Batman}}, Franchise/WonderWoman), this absolutely applies.
* AlmightyMom: Ma Kent--she can bring Supergirl to heel just by wagging her finger angrily.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Wonder Girl initially forbids Supergirl and Batgirl from stealing her sister's invisible jet, claiming because such a selfish, juvenile act would greatly dishonor her title as an Amazon--that and Diana would get really mad if they borrowed it without asking.
* AscendedFangirl:
** According to Creator/LaurenFaust, this version of Babs is a ''huge'' Batman and general superhero fangirl and wanted to be a superhero herself. Now she is!
** In the second short we see her bedroom, which is filled to the brim with Batman merch. She even has a Bat-mite plushie.
* AsideGlance: After scaring off Batgirl and Wonder Girl, Superman does this at the end of the third short.
* BadassAdorable: Cheetah, [[AdaptationalUgliness in contrast]] to [[AdaptationalWimp most]] DC animated adaptations, is both as cute as the animal she is based on and roughly as competent as the comic book villain she is adapted from. While the team is able to take her down rather easily when working together, Cheetah nearly chokes out Wonder Girl and Supergirl when each tries to subdue Cheetah individually.
* BadassBoast:
--> '''Supergirl''': You can't tell me what to do! You're not my dad!\
''(Superman grabs Supergirl's leg and flings her over his shoulder.)''\
'''Superman''': No, but I'm Superman. And you'll do as I say!
* BadassNormal: Batgirl has no Superhuman ability, to the point the force of Supergirl's footsteps alone can topple Batgirl if Supergirl is being careless. None the less Batgirl's skill and gadgets let her contribute to the team's success.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: Batgirl, Wonder Girl and Supergirl, respectively.
* BerserkButton:
** Supergirl can't stand [[Franchise/{{Superman}} Clark]] acting like he's in any way better than she is.
** Don't say that Solomon Grundy eat brains. He doesn't like it.
* BigBallOfViolence: In the third short.
* BigThinShortTrio: Supergirl, Wonder Girl and Batgirl, respectively.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: Supergirl, Wonder Girl and Batgirl, respectively.
* TheCameo: Barbara's father Commissioner Gordon and Poison Ivy make brief appearances in the second short.
* CombatPragmatist: Only Supergirl would follow up throwing a tractor at Superman with giving him a WEDGIE.
* ComicTrio: Supergirl's the leader, Batgirl's the follower, and Wonder Girl's the helpless one.
* TheComicallySerious: Wonder Girl and Superman provide comedy by how serious and stern they are in the face of everything.
* CompositeCharacter:
** Batgirl is Barbara Gordon in appearance but has a personality more comparable to Stephanie Brown.
** Supergirl is the classic Kara Zor-El, but her more muscular build and rougher personality evokes Kara's Earth-2 counterpart, ComicBook/PowerGirl.
* CrazyPrepared: Batgirl and her Air Mattress Grenade.
* DenserAndWackier: Second only to ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'' and its shorts in this regard.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: WordOfGod says Supergirl suffers from this. She has all the powers of Superman, but not the same universal love and respect so its made her a bit of a hot head.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Played for laughs in the fifth short, where Solomon Grundy refuses to fight Batgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Girl because "Solomon Grundy no fight girls". This results in the three young heroines trying to provoke Grundy into changing his mind by taunting him before they realize that just because Grundy refuses to fight them doesn't mean they can't kick his butt. After the resulting ass-whooping, Grundy starts reconsidering his stance on drawing the line at violence against females.
* EvilLaugh: Supergirl chuckles very quietly with a sinister grin on her face as she boards the invisible jet with rolls of toilet paper in her hands. (Also see SuperDickery.)
* FreudianTrio: Supergirl is the Ego; Wonder Girl is the Superego; Batgirl is the Id.
* GagSeries: Each short is based around one joke and consists as many following jokes that can be told in the run time.
* GenkiGirl: Batgirl ''cannot'' stand still.
* GoshdangItToHeck: Batgirl flings out a fountain of family-friendly curses on her way to fight Poison Ivy.
* HartmanHips: All three of the girls have noticeable hips but Supergirl definitely takes the cake.
* HotBlooded: Supergirl is hotheaded, impulsive and short-tempered.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Supergirl is hotheaded and a little snarky, but she cares about her friends.
* LanternJawOfJustice: Superman, as always, is a superhero with a huge chin.
* LargeHam: Wonder Girl speechifies with great enthusiasm in the first short.
* LegacyCharacter: The main characters are the proteges and heirs of the main heroes of Franchise/TheDCU.
* LeParkour: Batgirl resorts to a big of this after crashing her moped.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: PlayedForLaughs with Supergirl and Superman, with the former trying to fight crime before someone else can stop it and get the credit and the latter trying to keep the former grounded.
* MagicSkirt: Supergirl wears a short skirt that covers her pelvic region completely at all times.
* MaliciousMisnaming: In the fourth short, Supergirl calls Batgirl "Bratgirl". Batgirl responds in kind by calling Supergirl "Stupidgirl".
* MoodWhiplash: The fourth short continues the series' silly vibe, until Supergirl accidentally throws her friends into a tree. Kara thinks she's [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength severely injured them]], gets down on her knees and tearfully apologizes for her {{Jerkass}} tendencies while dramatic music plays. Donna & Babs turn out to be alright and forgive her, and the short ends on a silly note...all in a minute & 15 seconds!
* MostCommonSuperpower:
** Averted with the main three girls, who are not extremely busty. Kara ''sort of'' has the MCS, but it fits her body type.
** Poison Ivy plays this trope straight.
* MundaneUtility: Supergirl, Last Daughter of Krypton who possesses all the powers of Superman, wants to use Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet... to cover ComicBook/LexLuthor's base in toilet paper (She's never been invisible before!) Batgirl, on the other hand, just wants to use the jet to get some burritos.
* MythologyGag:
** Barbara Gordon is wearing a more stylized version of the 60's ''Series/{{Batman|1966}}'' TV series Batgirl costume.
** In episode 2, Barbara has a Bat-Mite plushie on her bed.
** In episode 4, Batgirl has windup Bat-bombs similar to the ones used by [[Film/BatmanForever the Riddler.]]
** Batgirl's ringtone somewhat resembles the 60's ''{{Series/Batman|1966}}'' theme.
** Had the shorts continued or to made into a show, [[https://twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/631923460265000960/photo/1 Batman would've taken after his]] ''ComicBook/BatmanTheDarkKnightReturns'' incarnation in appearance.
* NearVillainVictory: The shorts don't really have enough time to build up such a story, but apparently, the [=SBFFs=] enjoy it enough that when Solomon Grundy "no fight girls," they're disappointed and offended, to the point where even Wonder Girl says they'll let Grundy "almost win." [[spoiler:Especially in light of the fact that he ''was'' threatening innocent people with his rampage through the city, they finally just beat him up.]]
* NoodlePeople: There are a few ''very'' skinny characters in the shorts, but Wonder Girl the most noticeable due to her regularly appearing, her height, and her bracelets being so wide.
* NotSoAboveItAll / NotSoStoic: Being an Amazon princess, Wonder Girl may try to act as an example, yet...
** In the first short, she is tempted to hijack her sister's Invisible Jet by a promise of burritos.
** She plays with this in the fifth short, by first scolding the other girls about irritating Solomon Grundy and then [[spoiler: ''intentionally'' throwing in her own ''braaaaaains'' pun and laughing.]]
* PoliticallyCorrectVillain: The fifth short has Solomon Grundy refuse to fight the three young heroines because he draws the line at fighting girls. This ends up backfiring on him when Supergirl, Batgirl, and Wonder Girl realize that they don't need to hold back just because he refuses to fight them and summarily kick his ass.
* PuppyDogEyes: Supergirl and Batgirl use these on Wonder Girl when they want to take a ride in [[Franchise/WonderWoman her older sister]]'s invisible jet.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: Donna Troy aspires to be this, she even goes on a rant in the first episode about uplifting the honor and integrity of an Amazon Warrior Princess.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Batgirl has green eyes, red hair and is a main character that forms a BlondeBrunetteRedhead trio with the other two.
* StealthPun: Wonder Girl is given a Brazilian accent...because she's one of the Amazons! Later on, the voice actress for Wonder Girl confirmed on Twitter that the accent is really a bit of Mediterranean but she chose to throw in a Mexican accent. However, it does make sense that it could be Brazilian since she is notorious for her puns.
* TheStoic: Wonder Girl has the most subdued reactions of anyone in the shorts.
* StraightMan: Also Wonder Girl, who the temperamental Supergirl and wacky Batgirl contrast.
* SuperDickery: Supergirl wants to use Wonder Woman's invisible jet to cover ComicBook/LexLuthor's base in toilet paper. As she's boarding the jet she's giggling evilly with an armful of toilet paper rolls.
* RousingSpeech: Wonder Girl seems fond of giving these, particularly in the first and third shorts.
* ThemeMobile: Batgirl has a ''Batmoped''.
* ThickLineAnimation: Carrying over from Lauren's [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic previous show]], characters in these shorts have colored outlines as opposed to the traditional black, though a little differently this time. Characters have a single color outline (Supergirl for example has a blue outline). Superman actually has the traditional black/dark gray.
* TitleDrop: in the fourth short, Batgirl thinks they should officially call themselves the [=SBFFs=]. Supergirl thinks its a stupid idea while Wonder Girl is just confused.
-->'''Wonder Girl:''' The ''Sebooofs?''\
'''Supergirl:''' We are ''not'' calling ourselves the Super Best Friends Forever.
* ToiletPaperPrank: Supergirl wants to use Franchise/WonderWoman's invisible jet to TP ComicBook/LexLuthor's mansion.
* VisibleInvisibility: Averted with Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet unlike most adaptions. In fact it even makes the people inside the jet invisible. All three girls don't seem to have trouble operating it and walking or flying around it, like it ''is'' visible. Thanks to a CheatedAngle, we haven't seen the inside, so it's possible the inside is all perfectly visible to the pilots and passengers.
* {{Wedgie}}: Supergirl delivers one to Superman during their fight.
* WouldNotHitAGirl: "Grundy no fight girls!" He's reconsidering by the end of the story.
* YoureNotMyFather: Supergirl shouts this out at Superman during their fight in the third short.
