With many of the same people who worked on those shows being involved in the production of this one, the series also features many of the key elements of its predecessors, following and affectionately lampooning the teenage experience for a tween/young teen audience.

Unfortunately, what they instead find at Surfer's Paradise are grueling and thankless jobs, a rundown staff house, and a tacky tourist trap of a resort clearly designed to cater to "kooks" (wannabe surfers).

But even if their jobs are far from ideal and their boss is a serious bummer, these six friends will still find wicked waves to ride and gorgeous beaches to enjoy, and most importantly, they will always find a way to seize the opportunity to SURF whenever they can.

15	''Stōked'' premiered on Creator/{{Teletoon}} on June 25th, 2009 and ran for 52 episodes spread out over 2 seasons, coming to an end on January 26, 2013. Overseas, the show is also remembered for its time on Creator/CartoonNetwork in the United States (one of numerous Canadian imports CN was picking up during the late 2000s and early 2010s), although it failed to perform as well as either ''Total Drama'' or ''6teen'', resulting in only 22 episodes being shown stateside before it left American airwaves for good. 176	** In the GrandFinale "Grom Fest", Reef loses his hair after crashing into Lo's boat. He ended up sinking to the bottom of the sea with his hair stuck in pieces of wood. Fin comes and saves Reef at the cost of his hair. Later on, he borrows the Kahuna's hair depilatory, actually hair removing cream, and lathers it on his head. This leaves Reef bald for the rest of the episode.

Reef and Fin both skipped work in "Fast Time When The Rip Tide's High" with no repercussions despite guests complaining about their absences. In the same episode, Broseph steals an irreplaceable vintage board from a popular exhibit at the hotel, and breaks it while Lo left ignored her tables in the hotel restaurant, leaving the guests complaining about the terrible service, again with no repercussions. In contrast, Bummer threatened Emma with termination unless she removed a turtle that was laying eggs from the beach, and did fire her when she brought the turtle into the hotel, but changed his mind after seeing guests cooing over the baby turtles.

Basically the entire hotel staff (including the entire housekeeping staff and the new members of the incoming summer staff) were forced to clean up the aftermath of Lo's party over the first two episodes.
184	** Broseph drove Lo's car into the hotel's main pool.
185	** After running out of firewood for this big bonfire that was on the beach, the people at the party ended up using the hotel's deck chairs in lieu of actual firewood.
