''Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension'' is a [[MadeForTVMovie Made-for-TV]] animated ScienceFiction film based on Disney's ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'', and the fourth Made-for-TV Movie based on an animated Creator/DisneyChannel Original Series. It premiered on August 5th, 2011.

When Phineas, Ferb, and Perry follow Dr. Doofenshmirtz through his "Otherdimensionator", they find themselves in an alternate universe where a second, truly evil Doof rules over his Tri-state Area with an army of iron-fisted robots. To save his friends from certain doom, Perry makes the ultimate sacrifice by revealing his secret identity as Agent P. Phineas and Ferb escape, meet their 2nd dimension selves, and begin their own mission to rescue Perry. So begins an epic battle as our heroes try to save their home from the clutches of Evil Dr. Doof and his sidekick Platyborg. Will Evil Doof succeed and achieve dual-world domination? Will Candace finally bust her brothers? Hell if we know (though we do know how that [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption last one will turn out]]), but watch it to find out.

[[VideoGame/PhineasAndFerbAcrossThe2ndDimension A video game adaptation]] was released on August 2nd, as well as a soundtrack. Plus, an [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTalesFromTheResistance episode sequel]] was aired in 2014.

----
!!This TV movie includes examples of:
* TwoDVisualsThreeDEffects: All over the place. Chances are, if it's big, it was done in CGI. The Norm-bots are one example.
* AbnormalAmmo: Comes in hand in hand with ImprovisedWeapon, with frozen yogurt, levitating remote-controlled baseballs, fruit, and Christmas presents being used to take out the Norm-bots.
* ActionGirl:
** The alternate versions of Isabella and the Fireside girls (who are called "Firestorm Girls" according to WordOfGod), more so than their normal counterparts. Candace-2 is more a LadyOfWar. One only needs to see Candace-2's [[CurbStompBattle first encounter with the Norm-bots]] for proof.
** And the First Dimension Candace, Isabella, Stacy, and Fireside Girls all help out in the final battle.
* ActorAllusion: In the final battle, [[spoiler:The Beak suit]] is piloted by Baljeet and [[spoiler:Irving, the two characters voiced by actors from ''30 Rock'']].
* AdBreakDoubleTake: Phineas says, "So far, it's not going as well as we hoped" twice at the beginning and ending of an act.
* AdultsAreUseless: The members of [[LaResistance the Resistance]] and everyone in the final showdown are all kids and teenagers (excluding O.W.C.A. agents, who are all animals). [[spoiler:The only adults taking action in the showdown are Doof (who attempts to head up to his penthouse to help stop the invasion) and Doof-2 (who personally engages into a fight against Phineas), while the rest of the adults only seem to be good for getting subjugated, with Linda-2 even spending most of the time hiding in the basement.]]
** Love Handel actually offered their help, but Phineas relegated them to musical accompaniment -- [[AutobotsRockOut which they enthusiastically provided.]] In fairness though, this is WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb. A sequence like that simply wouldn't work ''without'' a musical number, and Love Handel were pretty much the best guys for the job (and Danny does get a robot kill to his name in a deleted scene, with his ''[[OffhandBackhand bare hands]]'', no less).
** Candace's GenreSavvy plan to ensure victory for the heroes does involve adult participation, but that's more "making use of" adults than adults actively being useful.
** Depending on [[{{VagueAge}} how old]] Albert Du Bois (Irvin's older brother) is, he might qualify if he's turned 18 since [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTheDoofSideOfTheMoon "'The Doof Side of The Moon'"]].
** It's offscreen, but Major Monogram-2 -- once liberated by Candace-2 -- appears to have taken charge of the resistance forces.
* AffectionateNickname: Phineas often calls Doofenshmirtz "Dr. D".
* [[AllThereInTheManual All There In The Licensed Game]]: Y'know that turtle agent that appears during the finale? He's a character made for the game (named Terry, adopted by an alternate Baljeet), [[EnsembleDarkhorse though the creators loved him enough to give him a cameo.]]
* AllThereInTheScript: The 2nd Dimension Fireside Girls, who are known as the "Firestorm Girls" in official material.
* AlternateSelf: Many characters have alternate selves. Throughout this page, they are referred to as Dr. Baljeet, Buford-2, Candace-2, Doof-2, Ferb-2, Gretchen-2, Isabella-2, Jeremy-2, Linda-2, Major Monogram-2, Perry-2, and Phineas-2.
* AlternateUniverse: They actually go through a lot of them.
* AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome: In the movie, the Doofenshmirtz of another dimension has successfully and efficiently transformed the Tri-State Area into a {{Dystopia}}. The biggest threat to his regime is [[ActionGirl Candace]].
* AmazonChaser: Buford-2's reaction to Candace-2. Which is a stealth reference to another, earlier [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTheLemonadeStand episode]] in which a disgusted Candace wonders how Buford's number got in the contacts list of her cellphone.
* AndShowItToYou: In the extended version of "Robot Riot", the lyrics talk about ripping out the robot's CPU and showing it to them while it's still processing. In a deleted scene, Danny actually does this to a robot that gets too close while he's singing that very line.
* AnimationBump: The character animation during the whole scene with the Goozim is very squash-and-stretch and unusually fluid.
** Also, the entire movie has noticeably better animation than the show, though this was to be expected.
* AnvilOnHead:
** Subverted. At one point, it looks like a Norm-Bot is about to fall on Platyborg, but it misses. [[DoubleSubversion And then Platyborg gets hit by a bus.]]
** Played straight moments earlier by the aforementioned Norm-bot, which was hit by a falling animal skull.
* ArcWords: The word "trust" is said a lot throughout the movie, mainly in terms of Phineas and Perry.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Phineas-2 asks Candace-2 one after she initially refuses to help the main Phineas and Ferb rescue their Perry.
-->'''Phineas-2:''' We have to help them!\
'''Candace-2:''' No we don't.\
'''Phineas-2:''' Yes we do! Remember how we felt when ''our'' Perry disappeared?\
''[beat as Candace-2 noticeably looks guilty]''\
'''Candace-2:''' Criminey, I must be crazy. Okay, we can get there through the tunnels.
* ArrestedForHeroism: [[spoiler:Doof-2's HeelFaceTurn didn't make him so EasilyForgiven by the 2nd dimension. When he goes back after self-destructing his bots, he's quickly arrested.]]
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: When Perry reveals himself to be a secret agent, Phineas is upset because [[WasItAllALie he thought that Perry was only using them as a cover and never actually cared about or trusted them]], Perry [[WhatTheHellHero could have stopped him and Ferb from helping Doofenshmirtz with his plan, but didn't]], and... Perry could have been cleaning his own litter box this whole time.
-->'''Phineas''': Oh, we are ''not'' done with this conversation!
* AsYouKnow:
** As a reminder to everyone watching, Monogram reminds Perry at the beginning of the movie that if his cover is blown, he would be relocated and his host family would never see him again. [[spoiler:And as expected, it is brought back up at the end.]] Of course, Monogram lampshades it. "I don't need to remind you... but I'll do it anyway..."
** Also said word-for-word by Monogram when telling Perry of the camera used to study and replicate Doof's inventions. [[spoiler:Again, it's brought back when it's shown Perry's been replicating Phineas and Ferb's inventions as well.]]
* AutobotsRockOut: {{Invoked| Trope}} by Phineas asking Love Handel to provide the music for the epic battle.
* TheBadGuyWins:
** Doofenshmirtz managed to create a machine that helps him travel to alternate dimensions, thanks to the help from Phineas and Ferb.
** Special points go to Doofenshmirtz-2, who has managed to take over his Tri-State Area and ruled it for 5 years by creating his [[MechaMooks robot army]] and turning Perry-2 into his [[TheDragon loyal general]]. However, this became subverted in the end after Doof-2's plot to take over the original Tri-State Area is foiled, leading to his arrest.
* BadassAdorable: Alternate Isabella and the Fireside Girls anyone?
** Case in-point: when Phineas, Ferb, Buford-2, Phineas-2 and Ferb-2 fall through the hidden trapdoor, the Alternate Fireside Girls drop in on them and tie them up in '''under 5 seconds'''. With little effort, no less!
** Plus, their one fluid untying somehow got the boys into a human pyramid, which then promptly collapsed.
* BadassInDistress: [[spoiler:Candace-2]] becomes one when she gets captured by Doof-2 while saving the first dimension counterparts of [[spoiler:her brothers and their friends.]]
* BaitAndSwitch:
** In the flashback of how Perry was adopted, a young Candace asks her brothers what would they even ''call'' a platypus. Phineas narrates that he and Ferb knew ''exactly'' the name to give a platypus, and in the flashback they say... "Bartholomew!"
--->'''Phineas''': And then, when we got you home, we renamed you "Perry"!
** When Doof finally gets to the roof of his building, he threateningly says he has something for Doof-2, and reaches into his lab coat as if he's about to pull out a gun, but instead he pulls out a [[spoiler:toy train]].
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: [[http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111229002403/phineasandferb/images/d/d7/2nd_dimension_candace_small.png Candace-2]] wears a crop top - ZettaiRyouiki combo (whereas the boys' second dimension counterparts don't). The main Candace [[DistractedByMyOwnSexy makes a comment on how good it looks on her]].
-->'''Candace:''' Is that me? I look ''good''.
* BeardOfEvil: Doofenshmirtz-2 has one.
* [[PoorCommunicationKills Being Unable To Communicate Kills]]: Phineas probably would have gone a lot easier on Perry had he known that finding out Perry's SecretIdentity also meant never being able to see him again. It ''was'' in the pamphlet Perry gave him, though... which Phineas threw out. Actually, it says something that Phineas forgave him long ''before'' finding out that Perry had a damn good reason to keep it from him.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Perry the Platyborg.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Phineas could not let it go at first when he found out a Perry was a Secret Agent.
* BeyondTheImpossible: In the flashback, Carl is working for OWCA, and a younger Major Monogram congratulates him, saying he'll be making "Unpaid Intern" in no time. Even Swampy Marsh admits this trope, because what was Carl's title ''before'' he was an unpaid intern?
* BigBad: Doof-2, as he planned to take over the original Tri-State Area by force.
* BigBadWannabe: The original Doofenshmirtz, even more so than usual. Here, he tries to enter a BigBadDuumvirate with his alternate self, but he was just too incompetent to be of any use.
* BigDamnHeroes:
** Jeremy-2, Phineas-2, and Ferb-2 "busting" Candace-2 out.
** Candace-2 rescuing Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Perry, and Doofenshmirtz.
** Perry coming to the aid of his fellow agents, closely followed by Phineas rescuing ''him''. Then followed by all of the other kids in [[spoiler:Phineas and Ferb's old inventions]] coming to ''their'' aid.
** At the very, very end, Dr. D, though in a rather unconventional manner.
** Early on, we have Buford-2 saving both dimension Phineases and Ferbs from a Normbot.
* TheBigDamnKiss: [[spoiler:Isabella lays one on Phineas right before the LaserGuidedAmnesia kicks in.]]
* BigDamnMovie: Man, where do we begin?
* BigNo: Doof-2 had it in slow motion when he realized [[spoiler:the Norm-bots would be defeated.]]
* BigSisterInstinct: Candace-2, taking it to the expected "Candace" levels of obsessiveness:
-->'''Candace-2:''' I'll do anything to protect the ones I love.
** Almost to the point of {{Deconstruction}}, seeing as how she was willing to let the alternate versions of her family be captured in order to protect her own. In her defense, though, she did come back for them, once her own brothers had been escorted to safety.
** Perry's BigBrotherInstinct[=/=]PapaWolf tendencies also come into play in the movie.
* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler:The movie ends with everyone getting the memory of their greatest adventure ever (save for Perry) erased from their minds because they found out about Perry's secret identity. It even comes with a [[TearJerker touching moment]] between Phineas and Perry.]]
* BlahBlahBlah: The very beginning of the film already shows Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Perry and Doof chained up about to be fed to the goozim surrounded by hot lava. Phineas then says, "I'll be honest, Ferb. I'm having a hard time putting a positive spin on this. I guess that's life, huh? One day, you're having the best day ever, and the next, you're being fed to a monster the size of a two-car garage," to which Doof replies, "Yeah, well, welcome to ''my'' life!" Later when the scene repeats, Phineas is somehow aware we've seen this part already, so he says, "I'll be honest, Ferb. I'm having a hard time putting a positive spin on this. Blah, blah, blah, two-car garage, etc., etc."
* BoyfriendBlockingDad: A deleted scene shows that Doof-2 is even worse than Doof-1 in this regard, using his power to banish any boy who shows an interest in his daughter.
* [[RedArmbandOfLeadership Black Armband Of Leadership]]: Candace-2.
* BrainFreeze: One of the buttons on Perry's watch gives their adversary a huge ice cream headache. Perry uses it on Doof-2 to escape from him.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: During the VillainSong, they specifically mention that Lorenzo Lamas played Meap. Also, in the 3D game based on the movie, when the last level is completed, Doof-2 claims the player will pay for defeating him if they make a sequel.
* BrickJoke:
** At the beginning of the movie, Perry pees on Doofenshmirtz's couch in a desperate attempt to distract Phineas and Ferb from helping him with his plan. [[spoiler:At the climax of the movie, when Phineas is confronting Doof-2, he chucks the soaked cushion in his face, with Doof-2 disgustedly wondering what's on it.]]
** At the beginning of the movie Phineas and Ferb, after catching popcorn in their mouths, chuck some at Perry hoping he'll do the same. They just bounce right off his head. Perry then catches some popcorn in his mouth at the end of the movie, after [[spoiler:defeating the Platyborg.]]
** The couch pee gets another callback earlier in the movie when Doofenshmirtz suddenly realizes that it was a conscious decision on Perry's part.
** Right after his [[TheReveal reveal]] as a secret agent to the boys, Perry hands Phineas a pamphlet made just for this situation, which Phineas rolls his eyes at and throws away. Later, when Major Monogram explains that Perry must now [[spoiler:go away forever because of his blown cover, everyone is surprised and confused, to which the Major asks if... they read the pamphlet.]]
--->'''Monogram:''' Does ''anyone'' read those things?\
'''Carl: ''' I tried to warn you, sir.
** Also when Phineas is trying to explain the situation to Candace, and she fails to comprehend it, he says that he wishes he had never thrown the pamphlet away.
** Buford-2 [[spoiler:eventually gets his nachos.]]
* BrigBallBouncing: After being captured, 2nd dimension-Candace is seen bouncing a baseball against the wall of her cell like Captain Hilts, just before she is freed.
* BringIt: Perry gestures this way toward the Platyborg when he comes out of Doof's sports closet wearing football shoulder pads and a football helmet.
* BrokenMasquerade: Phineas and Ferb finally discover that their mild-mannered pet platypus is a secret agent. [[spoiler:LaserGuidedAmnesia resets it, however.]]
* CallBack:
** The remote-controlled baseballs are heavily relied upon as weapons - exactly what Candace used them for in "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTheChroniclesOfMeap The Chronicles of Meap]]". [[spoiler:For that matter, a lot of Phineas and Ferb's creations are used in the battle. A lot of their inventions were recreated and stored by Perry, just in case a situation as bad as that occurred.]]
** Carl's LatexPerfection disguise from "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbIScreamYouScream I Scream, You Scream]]" makes a return.
** In "Kick It Up a Notch", there's a likely call back to Doofenshmirtz's LeastRhymableWord moment in "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbDoesThisDuckbillMakeMeLookFat Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?]]", with Doof-2 actually managing to come up with some rhymes for "evil" in his verse.
** Candace's reveal [[spoiler:as the leader of LaResistance]] included a reference to her [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbJerkDeSoleil Jerk De Soleil parsnip allergy]], complete with raspy voice.
** Doof-2 checks whether our Doof is really his counterpart by offering him Almond Brittle.
** 🎵 "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbSuddenlySuzy Victory Gum!]]" 🎵
** [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbGotGame Poke the Goozim with a stick!]][[note]]Surrounded by lava.[[/note]]
** Monogram is only sweating through his eyes! We're reasonably sure a "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbVoyageToTheBottomOfBuford lost goldfish]] is not involved, though.
** Doof-1 rattles off a list of his backstories--all from previous episodes--when he finds out that Doof-2 is eviler than him simply because he lost his toy train.
** Doof-2's BeardOfEvil may be a nod to "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbCrackThatWhip Crack That Whip]]", specifically Doof-1's inability to grow facial hair, in pointing out that Doof-2 shares none of his counterpart's {{Freudian Excuse}}s.
** May overlap with BrickJoke; after Phineas & Ferb watch Candace-2 take out the Norm-Bots Phineas asks Candace "can you do that?"
--->'''Candace:''' Well, apparently.
** Then later, Phineas-2 and Ferb-2 watch their normal counterparts use a Norm-Bot arm to destroy the others.
--->'''Phineas-2:''' Can we do that?\
'''Candace-2:''' [[SubvertedTrope No, keep your heads down]].
** Remember the [[IncrediblyLamePun bonehead Norm-Bot]] with the boney bullhead? Think back to the chariot-race episode, where Norm was introduced. At the end, he got a minotaur helmet on his own head.
** A very small one, but Ferb carrying a handkerchief that he offers to those who need it, first seen in ""[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbSummerBelongsToYou Summer Belongs to You]]". Ferb-2 does this as well.
** In the ride between Doof-2's 'indentured executive assistant' and Doof-2 himself, there are reminders of some of Doof-1's [[FreudianExcuse freudian excuses]].
*** [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbRagingBully A man in an animal costume carrying a birthday cake.]]
*** [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbLawnGnomeBeachPartyOfTerror Lawn gnomes.]]
*** [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTheChroniclesOfMeap Balooney's face.]]
** In the alternate dimensions montage:
*** One dimension is populated with giant floating baby heads. Apparently, the one that appears in several other episodes comes from there.
*** In "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbItsAMudMudMudMudWorld It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World]]", the Monster-Truck-Awayinator sends things to another dimension with an alien baby. The gang passes through it.
*** On a subway train, Candace encounters the talking zebra that keeps calling her "Kevin" from ""[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTheBalladOfBadbeard The Ballad of Badbeard]]". He is reading a newspaper that has "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbNerdsOfAFeather Kevin Wins Election!]]" as one of the headlines with what appears to be a picture of Candace.
** Towards the end when Phineas is using a bat to [[spoiler:hit the baseball into the dish controlling the Norm bots,]] as we learned in "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbPhineasBirthdayClipORama Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!]]" Phineas bats left-handed.
* CatchphraseInterruptus: "You guys are so... Wait, why are there four of you?"
* TheCavalryArrivesLate: Ferb during the final battle. It's set up so that it looks like he's going to pull a BigDamnHeroes for Phineas and Perry, but the main bulk of the fight is done by the time he arrives.
** All the second dimension Resistance members get to do at the end is formally arrest Doof-2.
* CelebrityParadox: Parodied when Lorenzo Lamas is mentioned in a song's lyrics, and the ''very next lyric'' lampshades that [[NoFourthWall he played Meap]].
* ChekhovsArmory: Everything from Perry's wrist communicator to [[spoiler:nearly all of Phineas and Ferb's previous projects]] come into play in this movie.
** Basically the entire first half of the movie sees payoffs in the second half. Have these guys been comparing notes with Creator/EdgarWright?
* ChekhovsArmy: [[spoiler:The army of inventions by Phineas and Ferb.]]
* ChekhovsBoomerang: [[spoiler:The ball shooter.]]
* ChekhovsGun: Man, where do we begin?[[note]] [[https://youtu.be/Y-tJxx72X9U The days are longer, the nights are shorter...]] [[/note]]
** Perry's reflex when getting his neck scratched, [[spoiler:which his counterpart shares.]]
** Phineas playing baseball with Perry at the beginning of the movie.
** Perry's locket tag.
** The buffet Norm set up at the beginning of the movie.
** The urine-stained couch cushion.
** The Platypult that was towed away near the beginning of the movie.
** Doof-2's Choo-Choo, [[spoiler:and Doof-1 mentioning that he never lost his.]]
** Perry's hat scanner that he was using to analyze all of Doof's creations so the OWCA could recreate and study them [[spoiler:which he turned out to also be doing with Phineas and Ferb's projects.]]
** When Perry is first given his communication wristwatch, Major Monogram tells Perry not to video call him between 3:30-4:00 because that's when he would be in the shower. [[spoiler:Later in the film, Perry does just that in order to distract both Doofenshmitizes and allow everyone to escape.]]
** The ball shooter from the Chronicles of Meap [[spoiler:[[RunningGag strikes again]] as an important item. It is used to destroy robots, and also winds up ''destroying the robot army'' because it takes out a transmitter that controls them.]]
** The sports equipment that goes flying when Platyborg punches Perry into a cabinet.
** The skull belonging to the weird animal skeleton in Doof-2's office.
* ChekhovsHobby: Phineas and Ferb's hobby of creating inventions, of course.
* ClaimingViaFlag: Doofenshmirtz 2 sends his robot army to invade the dimension of our heroes. One of the first things they do is topple the American Flag from City Hall and hoist Doof-2's flag.
* ClarkKenting: When Phineas and Ferb told Doof-1 their pet platypus' name was Perry, he simply thought it was [[OneSteveLimit another platypus named Perry]]. Seeing Perry stopping Platyborg from attacking Phineas and Ferb wasn't enough to make him connect the dots. Doof-1 still had to see Perry putting on the hat. Doof-2 couldn't believe the clues both Doofs saw weren't enough for Doof-1 without the hat. Doof-2 [[LampshadeHanging hangs a lampshade]] on this by forcing Doof-1 to sit and look at pictures of Perry with and without his hat. "A platypus." "''Gasp! '''Perry''''' the Platypus!"
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: The Norm-bots (when in Norm-mode), manage to even outshine the original Norm in terms of this, most like because they have it balanced out with [[TwoFaced their completely serious mode]].
* ConflictKiller: Phineas sets his anger at Perry aside when Doof-2 announces he has captured the platypus.
* ConspiracyPlacement: What else but, "Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!"
** "Doofenshmirtz Evil News Updaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate!"
** The "OWCA Animal rescue center" sign.
** The "OWCA HQ" seen at nearly the end of the movie. It's also complete with "Pay no attention to this sign".
* ContinuityCameo: Agent T, the orange turtle agent near the end of the movie, technically debuts in the game. The creators liked him so much they gave him a cameo in the movie.
** Irving also makes a brief appearance as [[spoiler:the bottom half of The Beak suit]]. Django can be seen in the final battle as well.
* ContinuityPorn: Expect to see many references to events in the show. [[spoiler:In the film's climax, almost all of the inventions made by the boys throughout the show up to this point are used to fight off Doof-2's army.]]
* ContinuitySnarl: When Perry piddles on Doof's couch, he pees on the middle cushion. Later, when Phineas uses it as a ChekhovsGun against Doof-2, it is the left cushion that is urine-soaked.
* ConvectionSchmonvection: The entire sequence [[spoiler:and escape]] where Phineas-1, Ferb-1, Candace-1, Perry the Platypus and Doofenshmirtz-1 are being 'doomed', which is over a pit of lava. On the other hand, the 'lava' doesn't seem very dangerous on direct contact either: when the Norm-bots fall in, they just kind of...sink, instead of melting or bursting into flames.
* CoolShades: Candace-2 sports these.
* CoversAlwaysLie:
** All promotional posters (see the image at top) feature solely the 2nd Dimension Phineas, Ferb, Candace and Doofenshmirtz, when they only have supporting roles and the last of these is the villain. Averted with the junior novel which features both the 1st and 2nd Dimension versions of them with each other.
** In promotional, 2nd Dimension Phineas and Ferb have the same skin tone as their 1st Dimension versions, when in the actual flick, their skin is pale grey.
* CrazyPrepared:
** The tow truck driver, who has attachments to tow ''anything''.
** For that matter, [[spoiler:Perry analyzing and storing all of Phineas and Ferb's previous projects just in case they ever needed them in a situation.]]
** Both Doofs collect coins in case vending machine take over.
** And Doof-2 has a bowl of rice pudding on hand... just in case an alternate version of himself shows up.
** One of the gadgets presented to Perry, a souped-up harpoon, is only for if he's attacked by the royals or a member of Parliament. Carl even admits he probably won't need it (and he's right; it ends up being the only gadget not used).
* CreatorCameo: Caricatures of Creator/DanPovenmire and Creator/JeffSwampyMarsh are seen as scientists at OWCA observing Doof's past inators.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: [[spoiler:Who are the ones in the Beak suit sissy slapping ''dozens of Normbots'' out of the sky? Baljeet and Irving. Irving is implied to have taken out numerous Normbots on his own later in the battle as well.]]
* CurbStompBattle: The heroes easily take out Normbots as long as they are wielding weapons and aren't too heavily outnumbered. It's when Platyborg joins the fight (or if there are simply too many Normbots) that things become a problem.
** [[spoiler:However, even with the advantage of surprise, all of the local O.W.C.A. agents (minus Perry) working together quickly fall to the Normbots.]]
* CutHisHeartOutWithASpoon: "Robot Riot" is half this, half TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, all directed at Doof-2's robot army.
* {{Cyborg}}: Meet Platyborg, the world's first and only cyborg platypus. Though not that second part if Doof-2 had his way.
* DarkerAndEdgier: The entire 2nd dimension compared to normal universe. Also the defining characteristic of everyone and everything's Dimension-2 counterpart.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Humorously subverted with Doof-2, who only became evil because he lost his toy train as a child. Our Doof (who - among other things - was forced to work as a lawn gnome and is TheUnfavorite to his parents) is stunned by this.
* DarkReprise: ''Sort'' of. When Perry the Platyborg is first revealed, a darker, more evil-sounding version of the Perry the Platypus theme can be heard in the background. It's used as Platyborg's {{Leitmotif}} for the rest of the film.
* DeadlyDodging:
** Perry manages one heck of a display of this when rescuing his fellow agents from the Norm-bots.
** How Phineas finds out about the transmitter Doof-2 uses to control his Norm-bots.
* DidntThinkThisThrough:
** Doof-2 should've mass produced more robots instead of [[MookDepletion bringing the ones that were controlling his universe into the other]].
*** On a related note, Doof-1's own attempt at a robot army, wherein he also tried to address the issue of the self-destruct button... [[StupidEvil by hiding them on the soles of said robots' feet.]]
** Phineas and Ferb's attempt at rescuing Perry from the two Doofenshmirtzes.
** Then there's when Doofenshmirtz asks Candace to unlock his chains. While he's hanging over lava. She's quick to point out the flaw.
* DiegeticSoundtrackUsage: One part of "Summer (Where Do We Begin?)" quotes the show's theme song.
-->'''Phineas''': ''It's also... surfin' tidal waves,''\
''Creating nanobots''\
''Or locating Frankenstein's brain,''\
''Finding a dodo bird,''\
''Painting a continent,''\
''Or driving our sister insane!''\
''(spoken) Oh, wait. Maybe we're going too fast.''
* DisappointedByTheMotive: Doof-2's tragic back story is that he lost a toy train as a child. [[ForWantOfANail That is literally all]] that it took for him to become [[AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome a much more efficient villain]] - he did not endured any of Doof-1's hardships. Doof immediately lampshades it by listing off the entirety of his own tragic backstory and getting annoyed by it, culminating with [[spoiler:getting his own copy of that train - which he did not lose - and giving it to Doof-2 to make him go away.]]
* DisneyAcidSequence: "Brand New Reality" eventually fades into this. It is a Disney movie after all.
* DontExplainTheJoke: Doof-2 regarding how his HumongousMecha has a trick up his sleeve... himself... [[SelfDemonstratingArticle because the cockpit is in the ]]...
-->'''Doofenshmirtz-2''': (sighs) Pearls before swine.
* DoomyDoomsOfDoom: Parodied when Doof-2 points to all his prisoners individually while flippantly saying "Doom" over and over again. And when Doof-1 gets a "Doom" from a sock puppet. According to Doof-1, [[NoodleIncident apparently that's the second time that's happened to him.]]
* DoppelgangerGetsSameSentiment: The Phineas and Ferb from the second dimension get really excited to see the first dimension's Perry, hugging him for a few more seconds even after finding out he's not ''their'' Perry, who'd "disappeared" ages ago.
* DoubleEntendre: This line from the song "Robot Riot":
-->''"Cause your sister is a fridge,\
And you know her light is always on!"''
* TheDragon: Perry the Platyborg.
* DumbassHasAPoint: The smarter Doofenshmirtz-2 points out that he's far more evil than Doofenshmirtz-1 because of his FreudianExcuse, his toy train went missing. Doofenshmirtz-1 points out how [[FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse petty a reason for villainy that is]], citing how much worse his childhood was.
* EasilyForgiven:
** [[spoiler:{{Subverted}} with Doofenshmirtz-2 in the end.]]
--->'''Doofenshmirtz-2:''' You know, my crimes against humanity had just completely slipped my mind.
** Played straight with Perry the Platyborg. Justified since he was ReforgedIntoAMinion, and once he is free, he goes back to acting like his normal self.
* {{Egopolis}}: The alternate Tri-State Area has pretty much everything named after Doof (Dooferalls, Doofopoly, Doofensday etc). Although there is a building called [[SubvertedTrope Vanessa Plaza]]. Looks like EvenEvilHasLovedOnes.
* EnemyMine: Doof pretty much has to team up with Perry (and his owners) near the end.
* EpicFail: Doof-1's failed attempt to use a robot army to take over the Tri-State Area. (flashback scene)
** His usual ClarkKenting reached this kind of level.
* EurekaMoment: An unfortunate instance where Phineas accidentally reminds Doof-1 of what he did to get the Other Dimension-inator to work.
** When Candace is reminded of her attempts to bust Phineas and Ferb [[GenreSavvy and goes off to weaponize her]] FailureIsTheOnlyOption.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Minor, but when Doof-2 orders Platyborg to attack Phineas and Ferb, Doof-1's reaction is a shocked: "What?!"
** Even more minor, he also looks seriously disapproving when Doof-2 gleefully tells Perry that he lied about not hurting the boys.
** Even more minor, he is disgusted to learn that Perry deliberately peed on his couch, though Perry assured that he only did it in a failed attempt to get Phineas-1 and Ferb-1 to leave.
** Another minor case was when Perry showed a hologram of Major Monogram in the shower, prompting Doof-1, Doof-2, Platyborg and the Normbots to cover their faces out of complete disgust; even Phineas-1 and Ferb-1 do the same as they escape away with Perry.
* EvilCounterpart:
** The 2nd Dimension's version of Dr. Doofenshmirtz, obviously. Though that would probably count as an Eviler Counterpart to our Doofenshmirtz. He's also an EvilCounterpart to Phineas, as shown in the final battle.
** Agent P's 2nd Dimension counterpart Perry The Platyborg sort of counts too (obviously not of his own free will of course) since he was forcibly converted into an evil cyborg and serves as General of 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz's army.
* EvilHasABadSenseOfHumor: Doof 2. The only humor in his character comes from his crazy personality and the bad [[{{OneLiner}} one-liners]] he makes: otherwise, he doesn't share his counterparts sense of humor and even "dooms" him for it eventually.
* EvilIsPetty: Doof-2. While Doof-1 has come up with some admittedly petty schemes before (for equally petty reasons), they have nothing on [[spoiler:staging a full robot takeover of Danville just because he lost a toy train.]]
* EvilPlan: Doof-1 is as vague as usual but Doof-2 wants to [[TakeOverTheWorld take over the ''other'' Tri-State Area.]]
* EvilerThanThou: Doof-2 to our Doof. Doof-1 even uses the trope name when addressing him at one point.
* ExtremelyShortTimespan: The entire movie takes place on a single day, starting at sunrise and ending at sunset.
* EyepatchOfPower: Doofenshmirtz-2, of course. And check out the LampshadeHanging mentioned below.
* FacePalm: Doof-2 does this when he sees that Doof-1 is completely unable to recognize Perry without [[ClarkKenting his hat]].
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: (Regular) Candace, as usual and she knows it. See GenreSavvy bellow.
* FallenHero: Perry the Platyborg. In his universe, he was once as much of the heroic and loving pet as his main universe counterpart. But Doofenshmirtz-2 turned him into a cyborg slave.
* FantasySequence: Candace, after talking to Jeremy and realizing that summer will be ending and he will be going to college, imagines an older Jeremy with a soul patch and even having patches on his tweed jacket.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Doofenshmirtz-2. At first, he seems to be AffablyEvil like his main universe counterpart, but he quickly reveals himself as a ruthless tyrant.
* FedToTheBeast: As seen in the cold open, our heroes are threatened with being fed to an angry Goozim by Doof-2.
* FightingAcrossTimeAndSpace: To escape the Goozim and the Doof-2's army of Norm Bots, Phineas uses the remote to teleport himself, Ferb, Candace, Perry, and Doof-1 into another dimension. The Norm Bots who were able to follow them through the portal chase the group through a series of wacky alternate realities, and the scene is accompanied by the song, "Brand New Reality".
* FilmWithinAFilm: Candace's parents spend the climax of the movie watching "That Darn Fiance". She arrived just as "[[RomanticComedy the girl is about to forgive the guy for the cliche misunderstanding]]". Right after she [[OutOfGenreExperience fights]] [[AllPartOfTheShow these robots]].
* FootPopping: [[spoiler:Done by Isabella when she kisses Phineas near the end of the movie.]]
* ForcefulKiss: [[spoiler:Isabella gives Phineas a short one at the end when their memories are about to be wiped.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[spoiler:Phineas mentions at the beginning of the movie that Perry seems to have missed all the stuff Phineas and Ferb have been doing all summer. The fact that Perry's hat had scanned a great deal of the inventions that the two brothers had made shows that [[CatchPhrase no, no he hadn't]].]]
** [[spoiler:Other dimension Phineas and Ferb are noticeably paler than their main dimension counterparts, because of them staying inside all the time. Other dimension Candace, however, is still tanned, indicating that she spends time outside.]]
* ForWantOfANail: The alternate universe branched off from the mainstream one when Doofenshmirtz didn't get a HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood, and only got one FreudianExcuse that the main Doof didn't have, allowing Doof-2 to become eviler and more competent.
* FreudianExcuse: {{Parodied|Trope}} with Doofenshmirtz-2. His reason for going evil is him losing his toy train...and that’s it. When Doofenshmirtz-1 cites how he had far more traumatizing things happen to him and isn't as evil, Doof-2 concludes the thing that separates them is Doof-1 never losing his toy train. [[spoiler:It’s then revealed that really is the truth: the resolution of the movie is Doof-2 losing his villainy by getting a model of his train back.]]
* FriendlyAddressPrivileges: Doof-1 introducing himself to Phineas-1 and Ferb-1.
-->'''Dr. Doofenshmirtz:''' I'm Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, but my friends call me... ''(trails off, sighs)'' [[MadeMyselfSad I just got in such a funk]].
* FriendOrIdolDecision: [[spoiler:Because Perry's cover has been blown, he has to be reassigned with another family; Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and the gang have to decide whether to let Perry go and remember the whole multiversal adventure of the day, or keep Perry, but use Doofenshmirtz's Amnesia-nator to forget the movie's events, including learning Perry's secret. They choose the latter.]]
-->[[spoiler:'''Ferb:''' Well, we've had a lot of great days. But we only have one Perry.]]
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: "MY WATERMELON!" This would later become a semi-RunningGag in the show.
* GenreSavvy:
** Doof-1 has a moment of this when he realizes his Otherdimensioninator ''doesn't'' need a self-destruct button.
** (Regular) Candace knows [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption that every time she tries to bust her brothers, events go in such a way that everything is back to normal, with the strange things disappearing just before her mom is able to discover it.]] [[spoiler:[[ExploitedTrope That said, she guarantees Doof-2's downfall by making good use of it.]]]]
* GlassCannon: The Normbots are heavily armed, but are remarkably fragile, one being destroyed after getting hit with a pair of shoes.
* GondorCallsForAid: Perry sent Phineas and Ferb back home with his collar, which unlocked his lair to them along with the replications of every invention they did throughout their summer and winter breaks. The aid arrives after the O.W.C.A. agents attempted to fight back against the Norm Bots, only to be overran even with [[HyperCompetentSidekick Agent P]]'s help. Phineas and Ferb arrived just in the nick of time, [[BadassCrew having rallied almost everyone who had gotten involved with their inventions at some point or another]], and when they reinforced the O.W.C.A. agents they formed an effective line of defense against the Norm Bot invasion.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Isabella's invention of choice is the little ''(aint' no) kiddie ride'' flying unicorn. She knows how to use it.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Doof-2 and Platyborg.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Phineas, Ferb, and their friends willingly give up remembering the greatest adventure of their lives in order for Perry to stay. Shows just how much they care about that platypus.]]
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: "That's it? That's your emotionally scarring backstory? Dude, I was raised by ocelots! I mean, literally. [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbTheChroniclesOfMeap I was disowned by my parents and raised by Central American wildcats]], and all you did was lose a toy train? [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbLawnGnomeBeachPartyOfTerror I had to work as a lawn gnome]], [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbGamingTheSystem I was forced to wear hand-me-up girls' clothing]], [[Recap/PhineasAndFerbBullyBust neither of my parents showed up for my birth]]!"
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Platyborg. Being partly machine gives him some advantages in fighting first dimension Perry. It's also why he ultimately loses.]]
* HopeSpot: [[spoiler:When the first dimension characters are chained and sentenced to doom, they actually manage to grab the keys, take out all the Normbots present, ''and'' shut the goozim's cage. Then the cage door falls.]]
** Also when Phineas, Ferb, and Perry are being pursued by Platyborg. [[spoiler:A Normbot looks like it's about to fall on Platyborg, but it misses. Then subverted when he gets hit by a bus instead.]]
** During the initial invasion of the Normbots, O.W.C.A. agents are seen neutralizing a few of them before quickly being overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Perry comes to the rescue, destroying several more before being captured like the rest of the agents.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: An unfortunate side-effect of Phineas and Ferb's eternal optimism, it seems. They completely fail to realize that ''either'' of the two Doofenshmirtz's are evil until they're flat-out told.
** It can be argued that it is subverted in the case of how they judged [[AffablyEvil Do]][[HarmlessVillain of]][[AntiVillain -1]] and he was always nice and polite to them.
** Even though they've dodged adults early and often during the summer, it's a safe bet that they've never encountered one who was willing to [[spoiler:hurt them just to expose Perry.]]
** The same can be said of Phineas thinking Perry keeping his spy life a secret was because he didn't care about the family. If only he read that pamphlet.
* HowWeGotHere: The movie starts off with Phineas, Ferb, Perry, Candace and Doof-1 about to be executed, with Phineas thinking back to how the day started. Lampshaded once the story catches back up to that scene, when Phineas skips over most of his dialogue the audience already heard.
-->'''Ferb:''' Whoa. ''Deja vu''-ish.
* HypocriticalHumor: Candace believes that there is a "mysterious force" taking her brother's contraptions away before her mother can see it. Stacy denies it with:
-->'''Stacy:''' I personally disagree. I am a woman of science...at least that's what my horoscope tells me.
* IAmNotWeasel: After finding out about Perry's secret identity, Phineas questions as to why Perry would fight a pharmacist.
-->'''Doofenshmirtz''': Actually, I'm an evil scientist, but a lot of people are confused by the lab coat.
* IHaveNoSon: Or rather I Have No Pet. Phineas disowns Perry after he believes he and Ferb can no longer trust him. He takes it back when he finds out Doof-2 has captured Perry.
* IfIHadANickel: "...for every time I was doomed by a puppet, I'd have two nickels! Which isn't a lot, but it's [[NoodleIncident weird that it happened twice, right]]?" This is also the trope's Page Quote.
* [[ImplacableMan Implacable Platypus]]: Platyborg. Nothing he gets hit with slows him down for long, aside from [[spoiler:a turkey]]. [[spoiler:Until Perry electrocutes him at the end, removing his evil.]]
* ImprovisedWeapon:
** During the encounter with the Norm-Bots in the mine cars, Perry uses the [[ChainPain chain he had previously been restrained with as a weapon]], Phineas pulls out [[WrenchWhack a wrench]] with the intent of using it as a weapon, and Ferb takes off his shoes and ties them together to create nunchucks.
*** In the same scene, they use one of the Normbots' arms as a bazooka.
** Several in the fight between Phineas and Doof-2. Including couch cushions, plates, a bowl of noodles, and a lamp.
** Technically, all of Phineas and Ferb's inventions used in the final battle, considering none of them were created with the intent of using them as weapons, even [[PoweredArmor the Beak suit]].
** "Man, I wish other-dimension Candace was here. She took out like, 30 of them with a giant garden gnome."
* InformedAttribute: In spite of numerous references to it, we never see Buford-2 really "resisting the Resistance", perhaps mirroring Buford-1's (also mostly Informed) status as a bully. He willingly helps Phineas and Ferb locate the Resistance for help, and even accompanies the ''bona fide'' Resistance members on their missions.
** Well, he was told to keep resisting.
* InsistentTerminology:
** When Doof-1 calls Major-2 his slave, he says he prefers 'indentured executive assistant'. Doof-2 is shown as using the latter term.
** Also Major Monogram stating he was sweating through his eyes instead of crying. Buford had previously used that term in [[WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb the series]].
** [[StylisticSuck Pretendy the Practicepus]] is not a doll, he's a stand-in.
* InsultBackfire: Used and thoroughly lampshaded by Doof-1 towards Vanessa in a DeletedScene.
-->'''Vanessa:''' You're not normal, Dad.\
'''Heinz:''' Oh, why thank you Vanessa, you're so sweet! See what I did there? Even though I knew you meant it as an insult, I took it as a compliment. ''Maddening'', isn't it?
* IntentionalMessMaking: Perry [[UrineTrouble urinates on Doofenshmirtz's couch]] to distract Phineas and Ferb from helping Doofenshmirtz and to look like a normal platypus.
* InterdimensionalTravelDevice: The Otherdimensionator is one of these.
* InvulnerableKnuckles: An aversion played for an IronicEcho. During the climactic battle between Perry and Platyborg, Perry injures his hand punching Platyborg's armor-plated head and has to shake it off. Later, Perry dons football padding, and when Platyborg tries to punch him in the helmet with his organic hand, it shakes off the injury in exactly the same way.
* ItHasBeenAnHonor: [[spoiler:Just before the ResetButton comes into play]]:
-->'''[[spoiler:Phineas]]:''' [[spoiler:[[Film/StarTrekIITheWrathOfKhan You are now and always have been a great pet]].]]
* JerkassRealization: [[spoiler:Phineas has one for how he poorly he reacted to Perry being a secret agent when he learns that having an OWCA agent's cover blown means that they have to be forcibly relocated from their host family. He more than makes up for it when he willingly gives up his memories.]]
* KarmaHoudini: Subverted. [[spoiler:At first, it seems that Second Dimension Doofenshmirtz would get off scot-free after getting his toy train back and becoming good, but then he walks through the portal and is promptly arrested by the Second Dimension Resistance.]]
* KeystoneArmy: Doofenshmirtz-2 controls the Norm Bots using a satellite dish.
* KnewItAllAlong:
-->'''Isabella''': It's weird that Perry's a secret agent.\
'''Buford''': Yeah. But it was obvious in hindsight.
* LaResistance
* LampshadeHanging: During the "Brand New Best Friend" sequence:
-->'''Doofenshmirtz:''' Y'know, I couldn't help but notice that your scar goes ''over'' your eyepatch...\
'''Doofenshmirtz-2''': Yeah?\
''({{Beat}})''\
'''Doofenshmirtz''': Nothing.
** As they approach the DEI building, Phineas mentions they're going to hit that building that looks vaguely like Ferb's head.
--->'''Major Monogram:''' Remember, if your cover is blown, you'll have to leave the boys forever.\
'''Doofenshmirtz:''' Does... does anybody hear someone talking?
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler:The main cast willingly decides to forget what they have dubbed the greatest day of their lives so that Perry won't have to leave them all. [[TearJerker *sniff*]]]]
** A literal case too, as they accomplish this by being shot by the Amnesianator.
** However, the effects seem to be slowly wearing off, since in "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbFlyOnTheWall Fly on the Wall]]", the gang sings "Summer (Where Do We Begin?)" from this film.
--->'''Phineas''': Yeah, we all know the song. ''({{Beat}})'' But I'm not exactly sure how....
* LawfulStupid: Major Monogram insists that the memory of everyone is wiped to maintain Perry's cover, even though Phineas and Ferb helped stop Doofenshmirtz-2.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Doof-1 finishes his duet VillainSong with Doof-2 with "Coming at you Fridays!", possibly referring to the premiere night of the movie as well as when new episodes of the series usually premiere.
** When Doof-2 [[spoiler:gets his Choo-Choo back, he says "Oh, heart melting. {{Backstory}} resolving! [[HeelFaceTurn Evil... diminishing]]."]]
* LetsGetDangerous: [[spoiler:Nearly ''all'' the characters and inventions do this, aside from the ones we already ''knew'' were badass.]]
* LionKingLift: Parodied by Phineas during "Everything's Better With Perry" as he holds up Perry from his bed.
* LittleMissBadass: Isabella-2, along with all the other Firestorm girls.
* LostToyGrievance: The reason Doof-2 turned evil is that he lost his beloved toy choo-choo train.
* LuredIntoATrap: When Phineas, Ferb, Candace and the Resistance reach Doof-2's lair, they open up the garage door and discover it is dark.
-->'''Buford-2''': I don't remember it being so dark down here.\
'''Candace-2''': Dark?\
'''Doofenshmirtz''': That's because it's a trap! [[DontExplainTheJoke And if it was light, you would've seen us and run away, hence ruining the trap!]]\
'''Doofenshmirtz-2''': I think they get that.
* MagicSkirt: Despite the combination of skirt-wearing females, crazy acrobatics, and cinematic angles, there's somehow not a single PantyShot.
* ManlyTears[=/=]SingleTear: [[NotSoStoic Of]] ''[[NotSoStoic all]]'' [[NotSoStoic people]], both Ferb and his counterpart are seen each shedding one when [[spoiler:Phineas-2 ''thought'' he was reuniting with Perry]].
* MechaMooks: Doof-2's Norm-Bot's.
** In the climactic battle, the [[spoiler:Phinedroids and Ferbots]] are used as these.
** Doof-1's bots from the flashback.
* MemoryWipeExploitation: As Carl and Major Monogram are prepping Doof's Amniesia-inator, Isabella takes advantage of the fact that their memories will be wiped to [[spoiler: finally kiss Phineas.]]
* MoodWhiplash: After the cheerful and uplifting "Summer" song, we immediately cut to Perry being asked to turn himself in to save his owners. Made worse when Phineas notices and chews him out for it again, and "I Walk Away" plays... then Ferb makes a funny comment.
-->'''Phineas''': I used to think you couldn't spell "platypus" without "us".
-->'''Ferb''': [[CaptainObvious Well, you]] ''[[CaptainObvious can]]'', [[CaptainObvious but it would just be "platyp".]]
* TheMovie
* TheMultiverse: Though it's given some unique rules. First, it's not infinite, and you can travel through all of the universes one-by-one in a few minutes. Second, the universes are positioned in a clockwise formation, and it's a lot easier to travel that way, though this has the drawback of having you go through the entire multiverse to get back where you started. Going counterclockwise can be done, but it's very difficult.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: Doof-2 turned evil just because he lost his toy train.
* MundaneUtility: When Doof-1 first gets the Other Dimension-inator working, his first idea of what to do with it is... to replace his old, worn-out, [[ItMakesSenseInContext urine-stained]] couch with the much nicer one that occupies the same spot in the alternate dimension.
* MusicalisInterruptus: During "Summer (Where Do We Begin?)", the second verse suddenly segues into the theme song; Phineas quickly stops before finishing the line "Or driving our sister insane," pointing out they're going too fast, then the song resumes its original melody.
* NeverTrustATrailer:
** The scene of one of the treehouse robots pulling a PrimalChestPound on top of a skyscraper? Never happens (except in a deleted scene).
** Other trailers make it seem like the battle is to keep Perry, or that '''their''' Candace leads LaResistance.
* NewNeighboursAsThePlotDemands: Despite Doof claiming that Mrs. Thompson has been his neighbor "for like, 12 years" she's never been seen before this.
** One could also get the impression Doof owned the whole building. [[RuleOfFunny So it just serves to delay Doof for a few laughs.]]
* NoPlansNoPrototypeNoBackup: Subverted. It's revealed that part of Perry's job is to photograph all of Doof's inventions so that the OWCA can rebuild and study them. [[spoiler:Perry's secretly done the same for Phineas and Ferb's inventions, and keeps them hidden in his lair in case of an emergency.]]
* NonActionGuy: Dr. Baljeet, even more noticeably than Baljeet-1. He isn't shown to accompany the other Resistance members on missions, for instance.
* NonSequiturThud: The Normbots tend to spout these whenever they get knocked around a lot.
-->'''Normbot:''' Get me! I'm a Georgia O'Keeffe painting!
* NoodleIncident: The first time Doof-1 was sentenced to doom by a puppet.
** Doof-1's Amnesia-inator.
** When the tour bus for Love Handel is shot and toppled over by [[spoiler:the invading robot army from another dimension]], Danny looks around and says, "Ah great. UsefulNotes/{{Albuquerque}} '93 all over again."
* NothingPersonal: When Doof-1 learns that Perry-1 deliberately peed on his couch in a failed attempt to make Phineas-1 and Ferb-1 to leave Doof's lab, he furiously berates the platypus out of complete disgust. Cue to Perry-1, who shrugs at Doof-1 while smiling nervously out of guilt, assuring that it was nothing personal against him.
* NotSoSimilar: The two Doofs. The first thing they do is sing about how similar they are, but at the end, Doof-2 comment that are not so similar noting how silly is Doof-1.
-->'''Doofs''': ''(singing)'' Twice the evil! Double Doofenshmirtz!\
'''Doof-1''': ''(singing)'' Coming at you... Fridays!\
'''Doof-2''': What's that? Are we doing a TV show together?\
'''Doof-1''': Oh no. It just sort of sounded like it. Well, I mean, we could. We should!\
'''Doof-2''': Hmmm... maybe we're not so much alike.\
'''Doof-1''': That could be your CatchPhrase! You're the grumpy one! Eh?
* NotSoStoic:
** Perry gets a great moment of this at the movie's climax when Platyborg gets a roast turkey stuck to his tail, and is unable to reach it to get it off.
*** Not to mention he looked almost moved to ''tears'' when Phineas is [[PoorCommunicationKills chewing him out over not telling him and Ferb that he's a secret agent]].
** When Candace-2 is rescued from prison, hints of our Candace's Jeremy infatuation begin to surface.
** It's brief, but Ferb (along with Ferb-2) does shed a SingleTear when Phineas-2 ''thinks'' he's reuniting with Perry.
** He is also just as scared as everyone else when running through the dimensions (well, at least the first one) and screams when [[spoiler:nearly getting thrown into a pit of lava]].
* OffModel: Even though most of the animation is bumped up from the TV show, there are certain times when it is inconsistent. One particularly jarring moment is Buford talking about going to the snack bar to get some nachos.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: [[spoiler:Surely, Doof-1 wouldn't allow Doof-2 to invade his home dimension--it's ''his'' Tri-State Area in ''his'' dimension to conquer. That being said, it’s worth giving up his precious toy train]].
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[NiceGuy Phineas]] becomes legitimately angry at Perry for keeping his agent status a secret. The only other time before the movie where we've seen him this mad was his brief outburst at Candace in ''[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbSummerBelongsToYou Summer Belongs to You!]]''
* OpeningShoutOut:
** The continent-painting helicopter and the giant robot dog (the latter of which only appeared in an episode as part of another OpeningShoutOut) help [[spoiler:fight off the Norm-bots alongside other inventions in the climatic fight scene.]]
** The ''Summer'' song takes some lyrics from the show's opening song. In fact, the "painting a continent" line uses the same animated sequence. Phineas abruptly stops this part when he realizes he went too fast.
* OpenTheIris: Phineas, Ferb, Doof, and Perry when the Other Dimension-ator is activated for the first time.
* OrbitalShot: Perry gets one as he is held up by Phineas during the opening number.
* PapaWolf: Perry doesn't even break his masquerade when the Platyborg punches him clear across the room. When that same robot moves to do the same to Phineas and Ferb, he immediately jumps up and punches him just as hard.
* PaperThinDisguise: The Flynn-Fletcher family adopts Perry from the [=OWCA=] Animal Shelter.
* ParentalBonus: Quite a few that don't exactly qualify as [[ShoutOut Shout Outs]] listed below:
** When one of the Normbots gets a cow's skull stuck to its head, it compares itself to a Creator/GeorgiaOKeeffe painting.
** Apparently, Buford and Baljeet trade philosophy trading cards, making references to Kierkegaard, Sartre, and Nietzsche.
* ParrotExposition: Candace does this when Stacy tells her that as an adult, she doesn't need her mom to bust her brothers. Stacy Lampshades this.
* PhoneBoothChangingRoom: In the climax, when Phineas, Ferb and their friends gear up to fight back against the invading Norm-Bots with recreations of all of Phineas and Ferb's past inventions, Baljeet and Irvine emerge from a phone booth wearing The Beak Powered Armor, implying that they changed into the costume in there. Then subverted when Baljeet hangs up the phone and apologizes since he thought an incoming call was meant for him.
* PlatonicDeclarationOfLove: Candace-2 has a fierce BigSisterInstinct toward Phineas-2 and Ferb-2 (her brothers) and at one point declares, "I'll do anything to protect the ones I love."
* PlausibleDeniability: Said word-for-word by Candace-2 after she sees both her brothers and the ones from the first dimension.
* PoliceState: The Tri-State area under Doof-2's rule is tightly controlled via killer robots. They like to go around and ask for people's papers.
* PopcornOnTheCob: Happens when the Platyborg [[spoiler:is electrocuted while he is holding two ears of corn. Not only do the cobs pop, but the [[ItMakesSenseInContext turkey that's stuck on the Platyborg's head]] gets fried to a crispy dark brown. Perry catches one of the popped kernels in his mouth and crunches it coolly as he watches.]]
* [[PortalCut Portal Shave]]: The Goozim passes through the portal and ends up being cylindrical.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: "Let's kick some robot chassis!"
** "Alright, you rust buckets, [[LetsGetDangerous let's dance]]."
* PunchPunchPunchUhOh: Agent P's first encounter with Platyborg.
* QuantityVsQuality: In the climactic battle, Phineas and Ferb's inventions are the quality, being able to take down dozens of Doof-2's Normbots before going down themselves. Unfortunately, the quantity of Normbots is much higher, so Phineas and Perry decide to take them out at the source when this becomes apparent.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: Definitely played straight with Candace-2, the resistance's leader. Everything she does is a moment of awesome, especially saving the first dimension characters by pushing a giant lawn gnome off of a ledge, jumping on it as it falls, and using a pair of grappling hooks to turn it into a robot wrecking ball.
%%** Averted with Doof-2's army, except by Platyborg.
* ReadTheFreakingManual: "So You Found Out Your Pet Is A Secret Agent". No one ever reads the pamphlet.
* RebelliousRebel: Alternate Buford.
* ReforgedIntoAMinion: Platyborg to Doof-2.
* RelativeRidicule: The singer of "Robot Riot" insults the families of the robots, claiming "your momma was a blender and your dad was just a washing machine", and "your sister is a fridge, and you know her light is always on...".
* ResetButton: Phineas and Ferb meet Dr. Doofenshmirtz for the first time! They find out Perry is a secret agent! So do Candace and the rest of the neighborhood (except Mom and Dad)! Isabella [[spoiler:kisses]] Phineas! They... [[spoiler:lose [[LaserGuidedAmnesia all their memories of this day]], so the movie has [[StatusQuoIsGod no impact on the show]] whatsoever. But it was a deliberate choice InUniverse for the cast to erase their memories, or else Perry would be taken away.]]
** [[spoiler:Though Isabella didn't kiss Phineas until she knew the ResetButton was about to be pushed anyway.]]
* TheResistance: All the alternate kids seem to be a part of this, aside from alternate Phineas and Ferb initially. Buford-2 is so good at resisting, he even ''[[CrossesTheLineTwice resists the Resistance]]''.
* TheReveal:
** Perry's secret agent status to the boys, of course.
** [[spoiler:Perry's been keeping copies of the boys' inventions hidden in his lair for an emergency...]]
** [[spoiler:During the dimension-hopping montage, it's revealed where [[RunningGag The Giant Floating Baby Head and the Talking Zebra]] come from.]]
* RRatedOpening: The very opening of the movie, before "Everything's Better with Perry", clearly demonstrates that this movie will be DarkerAndEdgier than the show.
* SandInMyEyes: Sweating Through My Eyes: Major Monogram wasn't crying during [[spoiler:Perry and the boys' touching good-bye.]]
* SaveBothWorlds: It's in the plot.
* SelectiveObliviousness: Implied to be a character trait of Alternate Candace.
** Or that might be just part of her cover. 'Cause you know, being a resistance leader against the overwhelming oppression of a tyrannical mad scientist doesn't really demand that you stay out in the open in that role...
* SelfDestructMechanism: Thoroughly mocked, even more than usual. As it turns out, Doof-1's design for the Other-Dimension-inator didn't work ''specifically'' because of how he wired in the self-destruct button. When Phineas asks him whether he actually needed it, Doofenshmirtz starts to answer before [[EurekaMoment slowly realizing]] that he ''doesn't''. This is also apparently why Doof-1's attempt at a robot army didn't fare as well as Doof-2's (specifically, a rather unfortunate choice of placement for it). [[spoiler:Though it turned out that Doof-2 installed these in his robot army after all, although he's smart enough to keep the button on his person, rather than on the robots themselves.]]
* ShoutOut:
** The title is a reference to ''Film/TheAdventuresOfBuckarooBanzaiAcrossThe8thDimension''.
** The woman running away with the watermelon is also a reference to ''Buckaroo Banzai''[='=]s "why is there a watermelon there?" scene.
** The villain song "Brand New Best Friend" features Doof-1 and 2 appearing as many duos:
*** Music/TheBeatles, most likely Music/JohnLennon and Music/PaulMcCartney.
*** ''Film/TheBluesBrothers''.
*** Music/SimonAndGarfunkel.
*** Franchise/SherlockHolmes and Watson.
*** ''Series/LaverneAndShirley''.
*** Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton from ''Series/TheHoneymooners''.
*** Creator/BingCrosby and Creator/BobHope in the ''Film/RoadTo'' movies.
*** The two working on a conveyor, a homage to the classic "[[Recap/ILoveLucyS2E1JobSwitching Job Switching]]" episode of ''Series/ILoveLucy'', where Ethel and Lucy do the same.
*** Creator/LaurelAndHardy in ''Film/TheMusicBox''.
*** Creator/FredAstaire and Ginger Rogers.
*** Franchise/TheLoneRanger and Tonto.
*** [[RecursiveCanon Phineas and Ferb]]?
** Perry's mugshot is a reference to Creator/JaneFonda's mugshot in 1970 when she was arrested for suspicions of drug trafficking. When they took her prison photo, she held up her fist in the air, much like Agent P does in his photo.
** The scene in which Candace-2 is [[spoiler:locked in a cell and throwing a ball against a wall]] is a homage to a scene from ''Film/TheGreatEscape''.
** The line "I'm [[spoiler:Jeremy Johnson]] and I'm here to rescue you!" as well as Candace[[spoiler:-2's pose on the bench]] are lifted from ''Franchise/StarWars''.
** The scene where Carl gives Perry several devices that will [[ChekhovsGun be useful]] is similar to how Film/JamesBond gets all his nifty gadgets from Q.
** Irving [[spoiler:as the bottom half of The Beak]]: [[Film/RedDawn1984 Wolverines!!]]
** The beginning song had a hint of ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994'' in it. It's also got a lot in common with the average Music/TheJacksonFive song. Probably intentional, considering they've admitted to doing style homages before.
** When Phineas and Ferb first crash into Doofenshmirtz's Otherdimensioninator, he asks them how they got there, to which Phineas replies that they accidentally "[[Series/TheJeffersons bounced on up to the East Side, to [Doof's] deluxe apartment in the sky]]".
** [[Film/TheWizardOfOz "Fly! Fly, my Norm-bots!"]]
** [[spoiler:[[WesternAnimation/SantaClausIsCominToTown Doof-2's "heart melting" when he's given a "choo-choo"]]. He even cuddles it up to his face.]]
** In the beginning of Everything's Better With Perry, when the boys are asleep, Ferb is shown holding a copy of Literature/TheOdyssey.
** The movie Lawrence and Linda watch is called ''[[Film/ThatDarnCat That Darn Fiance]]''.
** Perry's tag/locket/picture frame/key looks like the Batman symbol. And just like Batman he's crazy prepared with all sorts of gadgets
** [[spoiler:"[[Film/StarTrekIITheWrathOfKhan You are now, and always have been, a great pet]]. [[TearJerker And a great friend.]]"]]
** [[spoiler:[[WesternAnimation/RecessSchoolsOut Phineas destroys the satellite with a baseball]]]].
** The [[spoiler:Normbot invasion]] is in several shots identical to the Nazi invasion film from Film/TheRocketeer: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFreD9VNE3U]]
** The video game adaptation has a level set in a 1920s cartoon world, somewhat like [[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII the Timeless River]]. Part of it even takes place on [[WesternAnimation/SteamboatWillie a steamboat]].
** When in Doof-2's evil robot factory in the video game, Phineas questions why there are crusher plates on the assembly line's catwalk. Ferb suggests that [[Film/GalaxyQuest the episode may have been badly written]].
* SeriesContinuityError: It is mentioned later on that Perry can only be transferred to another family if his cover is blown by his current host family; if someone ''outside'' the family learns of his identity, it doesn't count. However, this does not explain why Isabella, Buford, Baljeet, Stacy, Jeremy and the Fireside Girls still had to get ''their'' memories erased at the end of the movie. Granted, in the main series, only Stacy knew about Perry's identity and even then, she kept it a secret from the O.W.C.A.. Here, the O.W.C.A. may have felt that there were too many witnesses at this point, and loose lips sink ships...
* ShipTease:
** Buford-2 upon seeing Candace-2 kick some butt.
-->'''Buford-2''': I am sooooo in love with her right now.\
'''Isabella-2''': What?\
'''Buford-2''': Nothin'.
** Also when Candace-2 meets Jeremy-2 in person, it is implied there is chemistry between them.
* SillyPrayer: When she runs out of ideas on how to bring Candace back home, Stacy resorts to building a shrine and praying to the "Mysterious Force":
-->'''Stacy:''' (''while building a shrine with fruit bowls, flowers, Mr. Miggins, and pictures of Candace, Phineas, and Ferb'') Look, Mysterious Force, I feel a little awkward talking to you since I didn't believe in you at first cause, you know, it's crazy. But then I saw you... eat my friend, so I made a little shrine here. It's uh, It's nice, there's a banana and uh- oh, oh, oh! Mr. Miggins! So um, I hope this makes up for the whole disbelief thing. Are we uh... Are we good?
** Later, when Candace returns to Earth:
--->'''Stacy:''' (''on her knees'') Oh, Mysterious Force! You can see I'm really trying here! Please bring back Candace!\
'''Candace:''' (''appears behind her'') Hi, Stacy.\
'''Stacy:''' ({{Beat}}) ...And... I also want a car!
* [[SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer Sir Not Appearing In This Movie]]: Olivia Olson is listed in the credits as Vanessa, but she (and her alternate counterpart) only appear in deleted scenes.
* TheSociopath: Somewhat PlayedForLaughs with Doof-2. He has no contrived backstory for why he's evil. He just lost his favorite toy...and that was it. Which shows he is truly evil because of what was inside him from the start, as opposed to warped and frustrated to petty degrees due to a traumatic childhood and AbusiveParents like Doof-1 is.
* SpecialGuest: Music/{{Slash}} not only got to join Phineas and Ferb for "Kick It Up a Notch", he also helped co-write the song with Dan Povenmire, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, and Martin Olson, which, to them is still a "pinch-me moment".
* SplitPersonality: The Normbots.
* StatusQuoIsGod:
** [[spoiler:This trope can stink a lot of times, but this time, it's a real TearJerker. Even in-universe. Major Monogram states that with Perry's cover blown, he'd be taken away. The boys, not wanting this to happen, asks for an alternative, and Carl suggests memory erasure. Major Monogram wouldn't erase their memories without permission though, and gave the choice to the boys and all their friends. They all willingly choose to erase their memories to preserve the status quo so they wouldn't lose Perry.]]
** [[spoiler:Outright weaponized by Candace who realizes that all her efforts to bust Phineas and Ferb end with the weirdness disappearing. Thus, she brings her parents to the final battle, counting on a DeusExMachina to undo all the damage in time.]]
* StealthPun: What does Doofenshmirtz's couch end up covered in? [[spoiler:''Agent Pee''.]]
* TakeThat: The opening credits say that this movie is coming to you "In Fabulous 2D!", which is not just a pun on the dimensional-travel plot of the film, but also a snide toward the rise of films being made in 3D as well as the rise of CGI animated feature films overtaking the hand-drawn animated films at the time.
* TearingThroughTheMovieScreen: During the climax when the robots cross into the main dimension, Candace's parents are seeing a movie. [[FailedASpotCheck They mistake the robots coming through the screen as part of the romance film]], with Lawrence commenting on how great the 3D is.
* TearsOfRemorse: Ferb and Ferb-2 shed these when Phineas-2 is hugging Perry.
* TemptingFate: Doofenshmirtz talks about how his Otherdimensioninator can't be broken already, just before the boys' giant shuttlecock crashes into it.
* ThrowingTheDistraction: While trying to leave to face Doof, Perry throws a pebble as a distraction which makes everyone turn and investigate. Phineas provides a lampshade.
-->'''Baljeet:''' Hey, what was that small noise?\
'''Phineas:''' Let's all go walk over to it!
* TimeStandsStill: The alarm clock goes off at 7:00 am. The boys go through an extend montage for "Better with Perry", including making popcorn and the clock is still at 7:00 am.
* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: [[spoiler:The topiary gag would have worked a lot better if the trailers didn't already tell you that Candace was the leader of the Resistance.]]
** Some trailers feature Monogram and Phineas' voiceover of Perry being sent away after his cover was blown, which doesn't happen until the very end of the movie.
* TrivialTragedy: The alternate dimension's Heinz Doofenshmirtz's tragic {{Backstory}} that made him evil is... that he lost his favorite train toy.
* TwoWordsICantCount: Candace objected to Phineas' idea of having Perry [[ItMakesSenseInContext drop them all into a pit of lava]]. Why? "Two words. La-va!"
* UnConfession: [[spoiler: Phineas's love interest, Isabella, kisses him just seconds before their memories are erased. She actually exploits this.]]
* UnnecessarilyCreepyRobot: This is how Doof-2 conquered his Tri-State Area, specifically "With a bunch of big, scary robots!"
-->'''Normbots''': We should do lunch sometime!
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Doofenshmirtz doesn't think that much of the fact that Phineas and Ferb randomly flew in on a giant shuttlecock; well, other than the fact that it resulted in the destruction of his -inator.
* UnwillingRoboticisation: Doofenshmirtz-2 had inflicted this on Perry-2 long before the events of the movie, and he intends to do the same thing to our Perry and Phineas at the movie's climax.
* UtilityBelt: Mostly used to weigh down the MagicSkirt.
* VagueAge: Given a nice LampshadeHanging by Doof-2.
-->'''Phineas:''' How old do you think we are?\
'''Doof-2:''' I don't know, 1, 2, 3, it's hard to tell with the ONE EYE!!!
* VengefulVendingMachine: Mentioned in Dr. Doofenshmirtz's getting-to-know-you duet with his alternate-dimension counterpart:
-->'''Doof-2:''' Do you collect coins?\
'''Doof-1:''' Yeah! Just in case -\
'''Both:''' - vending machines become the dominant race!
** And then called back in an episode, when Doofenshmirtz gets hit by an Inator that causes his greatest fear to materialize... enter the vending machines...
* ViewersAreGoldfish: Phineas's line "So far it's not going as well as we hoped" is used to both end and begin an act.
* [[VillainWorld Villain Dimension]]: The second universe dominated by Doof-2.
* VillainSong: "Brand New Best Friend (and It's Me)" by the two Doof's.
** [[EvilerThanThou Doof-2]] also gets a verse in "Kick It Up a Notch", backed up by [[EvilCounterpart Platyborg]].
* VillainTeamUp: Subverted. Both dimension Doofenshmirtzes are at first overjoyed to meet one another, but Doof-2 soon betrays Doof-1 when he realizes that Doof-1 isn't as good at being evil as he is.
* VillainousRescue: Doofenshmirtz saves Phineas, Ferb, and Perry from being crushed by Doofenshmirtz-2 at the end of the final battle.
* VillainsNeverLie:
** Doof-2 claiming to Phineas and Ferb that Perry only saw them as a cover for his job as a secret agent and didn't actually care about them. Then again, he may or may not have [[EvilCannotComprehendGood genuinely believed this to be true]].
** Granted, when Doof-2 promised to spare Phineas and Ferb if Perry turned himself in, he didn't realize that he needed Phineas's help until after Perry took him up on it. He's not exactly apologetic about the situation, though.
* TheVoiceless:
** Ferb-2. His entire dialogue throughout the movie is one line during "Summer (Where Do We Begin?)"
** As in the original show, Ferb-1 nearly qualifies. Excluding "Kick It Up A Notch", He has a total of six lines in the movie. He shares his first line with Phineas and another is the other is sung during "Summer (Where Do We Begin?)"
** The Various O.W.C.A. Agents.
** The Firestorm/Fireside Girls (except Gretchen-2).
** Danny and Stacy are the only named characters to speak in the movie without having a 2nd Dimension Counterpart shown. (A Weathercaster and a Newscaster had a single line.) Danny gets two lines.
** Bobby and Swampy of Love Handel don't speak at all.
* WasItAllALie: This is how Phineas feels when they find out Perry's a secret agent and that's why he's upset with Perry. ''Again'', he gets over it rather quickly, but at that moment, he felt that all these years, his friendship with Perry was a lie.
* WasTooHardOnHim: After finding out Perry's double life, Phineas said some hurtful things to him, although Perry doesn't blame him for being angry. However, seeing Perry turn himself in to 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz, Phineas realized how wrong he was to be so rough on his pet and decided to rescue him. Seeing his efforts, Perry forgives Phineas for his behavior.
* WhamLine:
** Doof-2 finding out how to get Perry-1 to reveal himself as an agent. [[PapaWolf It works.]] Doubles as a Wham Line to establish that this Doofenshmirtz is ''[[KnightOfCerebus not]]'' the same harmless goofball we know and love.
--->'''Doof-2:''' Platyborg? Do the same thing to [[WouldHurtAChild those two boys]].
** The Resistance is revealed as Isabella uses her catchphrase ("Watcha DOIN'?"), followed by the reveal of their leader:
--->'''Candace-2:''' "Who made the topiary out of [[CallBack wild parsnips]]? I'm allergic! And it's messing up my voice.
** In the series, it seemed to be that Perry rarely gave much thought to the boys' inventions. [[spoiler:When Phineas and Ferb are guided to his lair after he nonverbally tells them to go home, the computer reveals he paid more attention than we thought.]]
--->'''Phineas:''' But how does he know we'll know what to do?\
'''OWCA Computer:''' [[TheTapeKnewYouWouldSayThat He knows you will know what to do.]] He also knows you are the only ones capable of helping him, because [[spoiler:you two are the only ones capable of creating ''these'']].
* WhamShot: Immediately following the third WhamLine listed above, we're treated to the sight of Perry's lair replicating [[spoiler:'''[[ContinuityCavalcade every single Big Idea from the show's history up to that point.]]''']]
-->'''Phineas:''' Ferb... ''[[LetsGetDangerous I think I know what we're going to do today]]!''
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: No one raises the moral objections of trashing the Norm Bots even though they show signs that they have emotions. One even says, "I use aggression to mask my insecurities". Also, when a group of them are confronted by Ferb with the robot bulls, one of them pushes another out of the way trying to escape, meaning that they have self-preservation and ''fear death''. On the other hand, they're an invading army, so the heroes aren't exactly given time to weigh the philosophical conundrum.
* WhatTheHellHero: ...And Phineas is actually pretty upset when they first find out, even if they do get over it by the second act.
-->'''Phineas:''' So all this time, we're like "[[SarcasmMode Oh, he's a Platypus.]] [[CharacterCatchphrase They don't do much.]]" Well, apparently, THEY DO!!\
(''Perry gives him a pamphlet'')\
'''Phineas:''' (''reading'') So you just found out your pet's a Secret Agent-- I DON'T WANT YOUR PAMPHLET!!!
** Part of it was because Perry didn't stop them from helping Doofenshmirtz with his plan.
--->'''Ferb:''' Well, he did pee on the couch.\
'''Doof:''' Wait, I just realized! That was a conscious decision! You peed on my couch!
** Comes up again when [[spoiler:Candace-2 abandons the first dimension characters, leaving Phineas-2 arguing how unfair it was. [[BigDamnHeroes She helped them later on though]].]]
* WimpFight: When Baljeet tries on "The Beak" PoweredArmor Phineas and Ferb made, slap fighting is all he can do. Fortunately the armor makes it still work.
* TheWorfEffect: [[spoiler:Danville's animal agents, besides Perry, are quickly defeated by the Norm Bots. Even Perry himself gets a bit of this during his first fight with Platyborg, but it just serves to make his eventual victory all the more awesome.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: Doofenshmirtz-2, Platyborg, Norm-Bots, and the Goozim.
* JustForFun/XMeetsY: In his ''Disneycember'' review, Creator/DougWalker describes it as ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' crossed with a child-friendly ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty''.
* XylophonesForWalkingBones: During the aforementioned VillainSong of the two Doofs, at one point they both played xylophone music on a creature's ribcage.
* YouWillKnowWhatToDo: [[spoiler:Said by Perry's computer when the boys find their way into his hideout.]]
** [[spoiler:For a moment, they ''don't'' know... until the computer shows them what they have to work with.]]
