''Matt Hatter Chronicles'' is a British-Canadian-Indian animated series produced by UK's Platinum Films that began airing on Creator/{{Teletoon}} on September 8, 2012. The show also aired on Creator/CartoonNetwork in India and Creator/{{CITV}} in Britain.

For generations, the Hatter family screened movies, not realising that the book known as the Chronicles was releasing villains into another dimension known as the Multiverse. Defeating those villains became the duty of the Hatter family, but after Alfred Hatter got imprisoned by [[BigBad Lord Tenoroc]] (Kevin Eldon), it is up to his grandson, [[KidHero Matt Hatter]] (Tommy Campbell), to take up this duty. To help him, he is joined by [[ActionGirl Roxie]] (Larissa Murray), a Tracker and [[TheSmartGuy Gomez]] (Marcel [=McCalla=]), a Keeper.

The series ran for 52 episodes over 4 seasons.

!!Tropes:
* AdaptationalVillainy: {{Myth/Merlin}}, who is usually portrayed as a good wizard, is one of the villains Matt has to fight. Same goes for [[Literature/JourneyToTheWest the Monkey king]], who, while mischievous, was never an actual villain in ''Literature/JourneyToTheWest''
* AlwaysNight: Whenever the heroes visit Carnival City, it's always night time.
* TheBadGuyWins:
** episode 18: the villain of the week, Prowler, actually succeeds in her mission to find a new Star Crystal for Tenoroc's Triple Sphere (which he needed since Craw accidentally broke the sphere), and deliver it to him. She is also the only villain Matt fails to capture.
** episode 26: although Matt captures the Villain of the week, a shapeshifter named Switch, Switch successfully prevents Matt from freeing his grandfather.
* BigNo: One of the villains does this when he realises that he's gained eternal life [[spoiler:only to spend it in prison]].
* BitchInSheepsClothing: One of the villains has a cute little girl form to gain the trust of the heroes. Her true form is far uglier, just like her personality.
* TheEndOrIsIt: After the Monkey King is defeated and imprisoned, it turns out Gomez still has the Monkey King's crown in his possession. And according to Tenoroc, the crown will keep working even with the Monkey King gone.
* EverybodyLaughsEnding: In "Flight of the Golden Arrow" and "Return of the Witch."
* EvilVersusEvil: Zombie Boss vs. Captain Lightning.
* FishPeople: Phibious.
* GodzillaThreshold: When fighting the Zombie Boss, who had managed to turn both Gomez and Roxie into his minions, Matt was desperate enough to [[SummonBiggerFish release Captain Lightning from his prison and let him fight The Zombie Boss]]
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: At least two villains were defeated this way.
** Minotaur: [[spoiler: Tricked into charging into his own energy draining wall]].
** Jekyll/Hyde: [[spoiler: Hyde was lured by the trio into a trap set by Jekyll]].
* JustAKid: What Matt first met Roxie and Gomez in the first episode, Roxie was disappointed to learn the new Hatter Hero was just a kid when they were expecting Matt's dad. Gomez then points out that they are kids too.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: [[spoiler: Captain Lightning was perfectly willing to serve Tenoroc, but when the plan was very close to succeeding, Tenoroc verbally abused Captain Lightning, calling him weak and saying that he got lucky when he defeated Matt and admitting that he might not even survive the plan. Matt used the situation to turn Captain Lightning against Tenoroc]].
* InstantCostumeChange: happens to Matt every time he travels to the multiverse.
* LooksLikeOrlok: Count Venom
* MirrorsReflectEverything: Matt uses a mirror to reflect Merlin's own magic back at him.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: the various villains Tenoroc sends out to perform his evil plans.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: One time, Matt managed to escape Zombie Boss because Tenoroc used a Spatter trap giving Matt a way out of the zombie horde, to Tenoroc's great anger.
* NobleDemon: Captain Lightning has shades of this. After Matt releases him, he helps him fight the Zombie Boss, and in a later episode defends the street kids of Carnival City against Magnifico.
* OncePerEpisode: Tenoroc using a Spatter trap against the heroes.
* TheParalyzer: Phibious, whose poisonous darts can temporarily paralyze a victim.
* PsychopathicManchild: Candy Cane.
* SandIsWater: Happens frequently whenever the protagonists are in the Sea of Sand realm. Heck, even the realm's name lampshades the trope.
* SealedEvilInACan: Lord Tenoroc is stuck in a prison realm because of Alfred.
* SealedGoodInACan: Alfred is also imprisoned somewhere because of Lord Tenoroc.
* TheStarscream: A few of the villains Matt, Roxie and Gomez had to stopped had dreams of overthrowing Lord Tenoroc.
** The Vampire villain, Count Venom, is an example.
** So is Zombie Boss.
* ShipTease: Matt Hatter and Roxie the Tracker get into a bit of these things sometimes in each episode.
** In "Maze of the Minotaur," Roxie tried breaking through the Minotaur's maze walls, but ended up getting zapped and almost fell on her back, until Matt catches her in bridal style.
** Also, in Flight of the Golden Arrow, Gomez tells Matt that the only way to wake up Roxie is with a kiss. Although, it was a setup when Matt was near kissing Roxie on the lips until she woke up and pushed him off of her.
* VillainOfTheWeek: All are minions of Tenoroc. And all have to be stopped by the heroes.
* WeaponizedHeadgear: the Zombie Boss can use his hat as a throwing weapon.
* WireDilemma: though not with wires but with cubes. When Gomez has to disarm Captain Lightning's trap, he has to remove either a blue or a red cube to do so, but doesn't know which one is the right one. He goes for the red one eventually [[spoiler: which turns out to be the wrong choice]]
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Out of all the stuff Gomez is scared of, his worst fear is ''giant mushrooms''. The Minotaur who learns this has this reaction and leaves Gomez alone in disgust.
