'''''[[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/ This Is the Worst Idea You've Ever Had!]]''''' ('''''Worst Idea''''' or '''''TWIYEH''''', for short) is a webcomic by Kieran Thompson, a.k.a. Kytri. It follows Nicole Masterman, an [[OurElvesAreDifferent elf]] and recent college graduate, who lives in a fictional town in Virginia with her close friend, Ian, and a small dog named Nummy Muffin Coocolbutter.

''TWIYEH'' borrows its characters and some of its concepts from Kytri's first webcomic, ''The Rift'', an OrphanedSeries about a gang of bounty hunters. ''The Rift'' was ended in February 2010 due to lack of interest, but ''TWIYEH'' was started a few months later in May 2010.

While the characters from ''The Rift'' are the main players in the comic, several characters from Kytri's ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' fancomic, ''Webcomic/CuantaVida'', have been appearing as major and minor characters, earning ''TWIYEH'' a sizable fanbase.

The comic came to an end on October 6th, 2019.

!!''This Is the Worst Idea You've Ever Had!'' provides examples of:
%%* AlternateUniverse: Of both ''The Rift'' and ''Webcomic/CuantaVida''.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Cynthia the {{Catgirl}} says vampires don't exist.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: As the oldest vampire in River's Crossing, she has the most pull. And even if a younger vampire doesn’t, for example, open the door when she says to, [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2011/03/22/60-step-aside/ she’ll just tear it off herself.]]
%%* AwesomeAussie: Liam, definitely.
* BadassAdorable: Tiny Carmilla, who looks like she could be broken over one knee, corsets and all? Yeah, she punches through doors and flings them into the sky.
%%* BeastMan: The beastmen.
* BlandNameProduct: Burrito Gong, although its actually Mexican/Chinese fusion rather than TheThemeParkVersion of Mexican food.
%%* BloodLust: Sure, [[JustifiedTrope Rika is a vampire]], but she's the first to display a textbook example.
%%* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: Abigail, Cynthia and Nicole.
* BrickJoke: In the first chapter, Cynthia assures Nicole if they ever really were to come across a vampire, she'd punch them. She does exactly that in chapter two.
%%* BurningWithAnger: Nicole.
* ChangelingTale: Turns out [[spoiler:Ian]] is a fae, [[spoiler:his]] human counterpart having recently turned up.
* CastFromHitpoints: Magic users can suffer "burnout" if they're not careful. Some of them even die from it.
* {{Catgirl}}: Cynthia is a Beastman, a biological human with some animal features. Additionally, Nai'ka are a species of people with cat-like features.
%%* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Caine really has his moments.
* DrivesLikeCrazy:
** Sergio parks like crazy, anyway.
** Gabry apparently drives like how any stereotypically Italian man would.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Gabry's very first appearance in the main comic has him asking a total stranger if she's okay after he sees her date pushing her around.
* EthicalSlut: Gabriele and Liam are in an open relationship, and they can both sleep around, but they have limits and rules that they have to follow (no emotional flings, needing permission, etc).
%%* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Caine thinks Sergio is "kinda dreamy."
* FacelessEye: On or above various doors [[spoiler:and caskets]] around [[EyesDoNotBelongThere Sergio's home.]]
* {{Facepalm}}: Ian, rather epically, [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/09/23/20-punch-out-all-his-blood/ here]].
* FantasticRacism: The Nai'ka are treated like sub-human species.
-->'''Amun:''' I am not a people.
%%* FieryRedhead: Nicole. Literally.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/07/13/9-nicole-doesnt-like-anybody/ Whatever you're picturing, stop it.]]
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: Gabry smokes and he is awesome. Sergio smokes and he is... less awesome.
* HalloweenCosplay: "TWIYEH! characters dressed as [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 TF2]] characters, [[http://skyscrapersoup.com/?p=583 yep]]."
* HeadPet: Nummy Muffin must be pretty well-trained to sit on Cynthia's head like that.
* InhumanableAlienRights: While it's still a crime to kill them, the Nai'ka are legally considered to be animals. They have no human rights to speak of, and the police are generally quite unwilling to investigate crimes where Nai'ka are the victims as it's considered to be "animal abuse". It doesn't help that they tend to be quite trusting and easy to exploit. Rei is a [[ZombieAdvocate fairly prominent speaker for Nai'ka rights]] as a result of all the crap his kind has been put through.
* KillItWithFire: One possible method for killing vampires. [[spoiler:Like Sergio, for example.]]
* LastNameBasis: "Rei" is Rei's surname (his given name is Tohru).
%%* LesbianVampire: Carmilla.
* LittleBitBeastly: The Beastmen -- biological humans with animal features. This includes Cynthia, Kimmie (the daughter of Cynthia's boss, a field mouse) and [[spoiler:Jeremy (a rabbit)]]. Apparently, there's surgery available that can make Beastmen look more like normal humans.
* MajorInjuryUnderReaction:
-->'''Nicole:''' [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/comic/5-20-its-stuck/ "There's a sword in you!"]]\
[[spoiler:'''Ian:''']]...yeah.
** An earlier example has a bullet to the head causing only [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/comic/4-75-now-you-fucked-up/ a one eyed death glare]]
* ManChild: Caine states he "doesn't wanna be an adult" when told the gang's Halloween party is a dinner party.
* MonsterRoommate: Cynthia would seem to fill this role, except Nicole and Ian aren't exactly normal humans.
* MundaneFantastic: Somewhere between this and UrbanFantasy.
* MustBeInvited: Discussed when Nicole and Cynthia argue about whether or whether not a vampire could come into their car uninvited.
* NameOfCain: Subverted; Caine's a [[ManChild goofball]] more concerned with burritos and trying to get into a nightclub by annoying the bouncer than anything else.
%%* OddFriendship: It's amazing how Ian can stand Caine.%%Why?
%%* OlderThanTheyLook: Carmilla, Sergio and, presumably, Dawn.
%%* OnlySaneMan: Ian has his moments.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/09/08/17-what-about-your-vampire/ "Oh my God! She's letting him drive her car!"]]
* OurElvesAreDifferent: They don't actually seem to be much different from humans.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: Fae are monsters that feed on magic (and magical creatures) and are difficult to kill.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent:
** They follow most traditional European vampire myths, which ironically enough makes them quite different from most modern vampires.
** Nai'ka are cat-like humanoids with odd hair colors.
%%* PlayingWithFire: Nicole.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: The vampires. [[FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire At least some of them.]]
%%* ReusedCharacterDesign
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Nummy Muffin Coocolbutter, which is fitting, considering its namesake.
* RotatingProtagonist: Chapter 1 focuses on Nicole, and Chapter 2 focuses on Cynthia. Kytri has [[http://www.formspring.me/Kytri/q/226870563702859885 recently revealed]] the rotation for the next three chapters.
* RunningGag: Caine wants to go to Burrito Gong.
* SapientFurTrade: Nai'ka blood induces magic in people who don't have it. The first arc involves tracking down a serial killer who harvests it.
* ShipperOnDeck: Cynthia wants Jeremy to be with Jordi.
* ShoutOut
** Ian and Nicole's dog, [[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 Nummy Muffin Coocolbutter]].
** Also, {{Literature/Carmilla}}.
** Nicole also cosplays as [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI Terra in her SNES design]] for much of chapter 3.
** In chapter 2, the group is watching ''Film/TheKillerShrews''.
** Jordi's Halloween costume is [[Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos Slender Man]]
** Caine has a [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda a Triforce tattoo on the back of his hand.]]
%%* SmokingIsCool: Gabry
* SpinOff: Sin Pararse, a prequel comic about [[Webcomic/CuantaVida Gabry and Liam]].
%%* StrongerWithAge: A vampire's power, regardless of what the power is.%%Does what?
%%* TeamPet: Nummy Muffin Coocolbutter. {{Lampshaded}}.
%%* UnsoundEffect: A couple times.
%%* UrbanFantasy
* VampiresAreRich: Sergio's [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/about/ profile]] mentions that he "appears to be independently wealthy".
%%* VampiresOwnNightClubs: Carmilla.
* VisibleSilence: After Caine describes Sergio as "dreamy."
%%* WaistcoatOfStyle: Gabry.
* WHAMEpisode: The killer of the Nai'ka girl is [[spoiler:Jeremy's room-mate, Miguel...who happens to re-use the same character design as the villain from Webcomic/CuantaVida, Rojo (except he [[SpectacledSadist wears glasses]])]].
* WhenSheSmiles
** Many readers found Nicole especially adorable on panel 2 of [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/10/01/21-knowing-where-to-look/ this page.]]
** Also, [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/10/23/25-we-have-coffee-too/ here]]. Several times.
* YouTasteDelicious: A variation: [[http://worstidea.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/08/03/11-fire-in-the-disco/ "You smell rather... delicious."]] [[{{Squick}} "Ew."]]
----

'''''Sin Pararse'''''

''Sin Pararse'' is a prequel comic about the relationship of Gabry and Liam. It is set in the ''TWIYEH'' Universe and has a darker overall tone than either ''Webcomic/CuantaVida'' or ''TWIYEH''.
----
!!''Sin Pararse'' features examples of:

* BadassLongcoat: Liam
* ClickHello: Page 7.
* CuteLittleFangs: Liam, in panel four of [[http://sinpararse.skyscrapersoup.com/2010/12/05/8-zombie-inspector/ this page.]]
* DarkerAndEdgier
* DramaticGunCock
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Gabry has an entirely different one here to the one he has in TWIYEH (a good compare and contrast, to show all the CharacterDevelopment he goes through) - here, he mostly refuses to talk to a therapist for fear of being considered crazy, and then gets excited and petulant about an assassination job.
* FavouritismFlipFlop: Gabry didn't want a job until it turned out someone else was already doing it.
* FreudianCouch
* {{Jerkass}}: [[http://sinpararse.skyscrapersoup.com/2011/02/10/15-any-name-on-that-guy-is-going-to-sound-gay/ Avery.]] "You know, I don't come here to hear you talk."
* MythologyGag: In ''Cuanta Vida'', Milosh would have been the BLU Spy prior to Jordi.
* {{Prequel}}
* PrettyLittleHeadshots
* ProfessionalKiller: As part of DarkerAndEdgier, below.
* RedOniBlueOni: Gabry is carefree and teasing (Red), while Liam is serious and stoic (Blue). They even wear their respective colors, albeit it's to reference a [[Webcomic/CuantaVida certain webcomic]]. They're also a bit of an OddCouple.
* RepetitiveName: Averted with Liam Williamson. WordOfGod says his first name is not short for William, his parents weren't that cruel.
* StraightGay: WordOfGod says that most people that meet Liam don't even realize he's gay.
* TapOnTheHead
* ThereAreNoTherapists: Averted
** Although it's played with - Gabry does go to therapy sessions, but he doesn't really know what to talk about, there are some things he just doesn't ''want'' to talk about, he lies about important issues that may help him to talk about and he's being forced to go to them anyway. So whether the therapy would actually have a positive effect remains to be seen. WordOfGod mentions that Gabry isn't going to therapy anymore in ''Worst Idea'', so it's still unknown whether this is because the therapy actually worked or if it didn't and he found other ways of sorting through his issues.
* TranslationConvention: Text intended to be in a foreign language <is encased in these angle brackets.>
* WeaksauceWeakness: Fae are vulnerable to iron, not cold iron, ordinary iron.
