''You know you love it!''

[[http://dasien.com/ Dasien]] (pronounced "dah-'''see'''-en", according to creator Neil Purcell) is the superheroic identity of Michelle Knight, an aspiring reporter for an entertainment magazine who after exposure to the Dasien virus developed SuperStrength, SuperSpeed and NighInvulnerability. Her best friend is Parker Lynn Bailey, another journalist. And the Crimson Gestalt, a fierce superhero-hunting extermination squad led by Lord Crimson, is the most prominent menace.

Dasien has appeared in other webcomics. Chronologically, she's appeared in ''[[http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Energize_and_Dasien Energize/Dasien]]'' and ''[[http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Heroes_Unite Heroes Unite]]'', under her original character design as well as alternate costume design in ''Webcomic/TheCrossoverlord'' and ''Webcomic/TheBlondeMarvel''. [[spoiler:She also cameos in ''Webcomic/{{Crossoverkill}}'', but as her alter ego, Michelle Knight.]]

The series had a history of going in and out of hiatus. In December of 2021, it was announced on the website that Dasien was canceled and that a new comic would launch in its place.

!!This webcomic provides examples of:

%%* EightiesHair: Marshall.
* AccidentalKiss: Parker gives Dasien one of the Type One variant after Lord Crimson is defeated. [[spoiler:This serves as ShipTease, as Parker may or may not have feelings for Dasien.]]
* AmazonianBeauty: The title character, especially after the ArtShift.
%%* ArtShift: Throughout Digest 2.
%%* BelligerentSexualTension: [[spoiler: Parker to Dasien.]]
* BerserkButton: For Dasien, calling anime "cartoons".
* TheBigDamnKiss: Between Dasien and [[spoiler: Parker]] in Volume 3, Issue 2.
* ChessmasterSidekick: [[spoiler:Rouge of the Crimson Gestalt. Emphasis on the "Chessmaster" part.]]
* ClingyCostume: Dasien's new black costume. [[ShoutOut Sound]] [[ComicBook/SpiderMan familiar?]] [[spoiler:Thankfully, it doesn't make her go nuts. She does get new powers out of it, however.]]
* ColourfulThemeNaming: The members of the Crimson Gestalt take their {{code name}}s from shades of red; one of them is actually code-named Red.
* {{Cosplay}}: Dasien enters a cosplay contest as [[Manga/CodenameSailorV Sailor V]]. [[spoiler:She loses to someone in a Dasien cosplay]].
* {{Crossover}}: With ''Webcomic/{{Energize}}''.
* DanceOfRomance: The title character gets one with [[spoiler:Parker]] that culminates in TheBigDamnKiss.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Act 2 serves as this for Parker and Lord Crimson, as well as a Robin {{Expy}}.
* DifferentlyPoweredIndividuals: Metahumans. They receive their powers from dormant genes, and usually have [[StockSuperpowersIndex superpowers]] such as {{Flight}}, [[HandBlast energy beams]], and [[BatDeduction uncanny detective skills]].
* EffeminateMisogynisticGuy: Ruby of the Crimson Gestalt.
* {{Evil Redhead}}s: Red, Rouge and Ruby, befitting the Crimson Gestalt's "red" theme.
* ExtranormalPrison: Stronghold Detention Facility, home of criminal [[DifferentlyPoweredIndividuals Meta]] types and super types.
* {{Expy}}: In Digest 2, an expy of ComicBook/{{Robin}} gets a chapter. In Digest 3, [[Series/TheIncredibleHulk1977 there's]] [[WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory Crunk]].
* FacelessEye: The Technomancer.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Pulsar Pureheart's costume
* FlyingBrick: Dasien, essentially, but with [[InASingleBound super jumping]] substituted for flight.
* FountainOfYouth: The gimmick of a one-off supervillain known as "The Pacifier", done using what is apparently [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Merlin's Pacifier]]. [[spoiler:When Merlin's pacifier is broken, it backfires on The Pacifier himself.]]
* GenkiGirl: Palody, complete with the SailorFuku.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:The Technomancer in acts 1 and 2]]
* TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: Rouge deliberately uses this (with some [[MetaphoricallyTrue jedi truths]] thrown in) to keep [[TheManBehindTheMan Neuros]] from enacting retribution on her, Maroon, or Lord Crimson.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Dasien herself.
* HeroKiller: The Crimson Gestalt.
* LeotardOfPower: Can be seen. Before switching to her current grey, long-sleeved version, the title character wore a sleeveless red one, which was variously compared to both a Playboy bunny and an Olympic gymnast.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: Parodied, and ultimately averted, in [[http://dasien.com/archives/Holiday/Issue3/Page1.html this chapter]].
* LongLostRelative: It's implied that [[spoiler:Lord Crimson]] and [[spoiler:Parker]] are related.
* TheManBehindTheMan: Neuros for the Crimson Gestalt. [[spoiler:And The Technomancer for Neuros.]]
* MysteriousPast: As part of the Crimson Gestalt's conditioning, they have their memories blocked. [[spoiler:Lord Crimson gets his memory back while in prison.]]
* {{Nanomachines}}: The source of Lord Crimson's powers (and probably the rest of the Crimson Gestalt).
* NonIndicativeName: The E.M.A. (Electromagnetic Amplifier). Despite its name, it doesn't technically amplify anything.
* OrphansPlotTrinket: In a slight subversion, the locket is owned by [[spoiler:Parker]], who (as far as we know) is not an orphan. [[spoiler:The orphan is the boy whose picture is in the locket. It's heavily implied that the kid is Lord Crimson.]]
* {{Otaku}}: Dasien
* PleaseWakeUp: Parker to [[spoiler:Dasien]] after the fight against Lord Crimson. [[spoiler:She gets better.]]
* PeopleJars: Lord Crimson is put in one while incarcerated.
* PlotDevice: The E.M.A. in the first story arc.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: [[FacelessEye The Technomancer's]] iris is red. He's a villain.
* RedIsHeroic: It was for Dasien in her Comic Genesis days, but not for the Crimson Gestalt.
%%* RedheadInGreen: Palody's SailorFuku has green trimming.
%%* RunningGag: "I'm Dave."
%%* SeriousBusiness: Anime for Dasien.
* ShoutOut: The fight between Dasien and Lord Crimson is highly reminiscent of ''Manga/DragonBall'', right down to the CallingYourAttacks.
** And to Franchise/ScoobyDoo [[http://dasien.com/archives/Holiday/Issue2/Page2.html here]].
* StockSuperheroDayJobs: Dasien is a newspaper photographer, working with her friend, who is a reporter.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: There is this kind of look.
* SuperPowerMeltdown: How [[spoiler:Red of the Crimson Gestalt dies.]]
* TakeOffYourClothes[=/=]WeNeedADistraction: From [[http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Dasien/5426681/ this page]]:
-->'''Parker:''' LetMeGetThisStraight, Mr. Tennessee Waterfall! You expect '''me''' to prance around naked because [Ruby] is apparently '''[[HeManWomanHater gynophobic]]'''?! is that what I'm to believe?
-->'''Marshall:''' That's one way of putting it … But yeah, something like that.\
'''Parker:''' ''[pointing to Dasien's XRaySparks in the distance]'' Well, why can't '''she''' do it?!\
'''Marshall:''' She's too busy drawing his fire.\
'''Parker:''' YOUR LOGIC SUCKS!
* TransparentCloset: [[spoiler: Parker.]] Michelle tells her [[EverybodyKnewAlready it was obvious.]]
%%* {{Tykebomb}}: The Crimson Gestalt
* WhatTheHellAreYou: Lord Crimson wonders this, after realising that Dasien is more than simply a [[DifferentlyPoweredIndividual Metahuman]].
