Another addition to Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos, this one beginning in November of 2010. A young man named Chris has a little problem. Some strange things are going on in his house while his parents are away. He decides to try and film it, believing it to possibly be the work of ghosts. [[FromBadToWorse He has no idea what he's really in for.]]

This is Chris' [[http://twitter.com/DarkHarvest00 Twitter page]] and [[http://twitter.com/gameslave2 here's Alex's]]. There's also [[http://project-egypt-blog.blogspot.de/ Project Egypt]], a side blog run by Daniel Shipman.

The series went on hiatus starting in Spring 2014, with the first new video coming out in July of 2015. After several updates in early 2020, it once again has gone on hiatus. (However, the creators have expressed interest in continuing the project in some fashion.)

Not to be confused with the ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'' episode, or [[Film/DarkHarvest the slasher movie]], or [[Literature/DarkHarvest the horror novella]].

----
!! The story provides examples of:

* AbandonedPlayground: The Rainwood Day Camp [[spoiler: which is also a playground of sorts for The Order.]]
* [[BigDamnHeroes Big Damn Hero]]: [[spoiler:Jeff, saving Chris and Alex from certain death at the hands of The Order.]]
* TheBlank: Besides Slenderman, Kind von der Ritter wears a mask that evokes this. The cultists masks have human-like features (they wear Guy Fawkes masks painted completely white), but from a distance it's closer to this.
* BloodierAndGorier: This is one of the only series that actually has (and visually shows) a version of the Slender Man [[{{Gorn}} who eats his victims]].
* CatScare: In "The Day Camp, Revisited," Making Alex panic and freak out, and eventually storm off.
* {{Crossover}}: They've made brief appearances in [[spoiler: WebVideo/EverymanHYBRID and WebVideo/TribeTwelve.]]
** RedSkiesCrossover: In relation to WebVideo/TribeTwelve, Noah's aunt Mary Asher and her son Milo had come into contact with and were inducted into the Order during Milo's childhood, resulting in Milo being used by the Order in order to find out more about Slender Man. However, Milo ends up committing suicide long before Chris and Alex encounter the Order for themselves, and is only mentioned in passing when the crew meets Noah for the first time.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Kind von der Ritter has been going against The Order and leaving clues for the boys, culminating in a video of one of their ceremonies, titled "my_final_betrayal".
** [[spoiler: Heather, who immediately aids Chris and Alex against The Order when she finds out about [[HumanSacrifice The Order's]] [[HellGate plans]].]]
* EldritchAbomination: The Slender Man / [[spoiler: aka Gorr'Rylaehotep.]]
* {{Expy}}: Kind Von Der Ritter is sort of a mix of [[WebVideo/MarbleHornets Totheark and Masky]]. He wears a featureless mask that makes him look like a short version of the Slender Man and a rather odd outfit. He also sends creepy yet helpful messages to the heroes, and behaves almost violently when actually confronting them.
* EldritchLocation: The Fourth World, which is either the location of the EldritchAbomination Slender Man works for, or is the location of the Slender Man's true body (with the suited humanoid being a mere projection). The only type of energy that the Fourth World has in common with ours (the Third World) is LifeEnergy ("vim"), so it's got to be a pretty mind-bendingly bizarre place.
* FateWorseThanDeath: The Order is not allowed to kill Chris or Alex, as their prophecy dictates that Slender Man must be the one to do it. However, they have no trouble threatening Chris and Alex with one of these if they don't start minding their own business, saying that first they will kill their families, then lock them up and torture them until Slendy finally comes for them, at which point they will be begging to finally be put out of their misery. [[spoiler: They've already started the first part.]]
** [[spoiler: More or less averted by the Sixth Enclave of The Order, who have on multiple occasions attempted to kill the boys themselves.]]
* ForcedIntoEvil: [[spoiler: Heather and Matt, who were forced into The Order by their families. Heather made a HeelFaceTurn. Matt... [[KilledOffForReal didn't]].]]
* GenreBlindness: These guys are rather enthusiastic to explore SlasherFilm locations at night. They'll enter the locked house of a guy who they know had problems with home invasions, explore deeper into a creepy forest when they hear a branch snapping, and jump into boarded-up derelict buildings.
* GovernmentConspiracy: Some portions of the U.S. government are aware that Slender Man is more than just a SerialKiller, and are (or were) actively doing research into the paranormal "science" behind him. [[spoiler: One of them probably posed as one of the investigators into Greg's murder, since one investigator that interviewed the characters refused to say which agency he belonged to, much less give out his name]].
* GrievousHarmWithABody: Slender Man seems to throw a cultist at the car containing Chris, Alex, and [[WebVideo/TribeTwelve Noah]]. You can hear him screaming as he flies through the air, and then see him impact the hood.
* HauntedHouse: Chris initially thinks his house is haunted by a ghost. That may have been preferable.
* HeroicBSOD: [[spoiler: Chris]] seems to get one when Alex picks him up from the police department after [[spoiler: a gang of cult members break into his house and stab him]].
* HollywoodDarkness: Not here. These guys use actual darkness, and lots of it.
* ItsForABook: Chris gets Heather [=McComber=] to agree to an interview by claiming he's working on a History project.
* IHaveManyNames: Although it's not seen in any of the videos, [[WebVideo/TribeTwelve Milo Asher]]'s journal reveals that the southern chapter of the Order went under different codenames to throw off suspicion of members meeting up every night. So far, they've been a book club, a PTA business, and an Alcohol Anonymous organization.
* JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: [[spoiler:Chris]] to [[spoiler:Jesse]] in Log #27
* LifeEnergy: Called "vim" in the series. [[spoiler: It's used to create a portal to the [[EldritchLocation Fourth World]], which is where Slender Man and/or his powers come from. Presumably the cult performs HumanSacrifice to get the LifeEnergy needed to open the portals]].
* MeaningfulName: You're going to want to turn up the brightness and contrast on your monitor before watching. Most of the early episodes take place in a house suffering from frequent power outages and inexplicably closed curtains, or at night with all the lights off.
* MindScrew: The end of Log #19. [[spoiler: Slender Man leans out from behind a door frame, but then at the start of 19.5 they act like it didn't happen. Add in the distortion at the end of 19.5 and things are definitely getting screwy.]]
* OrganTheft: Alex and Chris find bags of internal organs several times in the series, a token of the Slender Man.
* PoliceAreUseless: Towards the beginning, the characters don't hesitate to call the cops whenever something strange happens, but nothing ever comes of it. They come to quickly realize how much this trope is in effect. This comes to a head when [[spoiler: Chris's house is invaded by at least ten cult members, and Chris is stabbed before managing to lock himself in his bathroom and await rescue from Alex.]] The next video starts with Alex picking Chris up from the Police Department with no helpful results.
** At least one detective is a member of the cult, and the boys speculate that he's the one enforcing this trope.
** It has been implied that there could be a larger-than-thought number of cultists within the police force.
* PutOnABusToHell: [[spoiler: Heather]] in the entry ''2014: boiler room''. After her legs gets severely injured, [[spoiler: Heather]] is eventually taken to the hospital by Chris in order to get her wounds treated. Unfortunately, when Chris comes back, [[spoiler: it's revealed that the hospital has no records of Heather ever being at the hospital in the first place, indicating that she was taken by the Order]]. WordOfGod states that this was done due to the actress moving to Texas, and had to find a way to remove [[spoiler: Heather]] from the plot.
** [[spoiler:[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeiN2kP4fTc She's back.]]]]
* RadioDrama: At some points in the videos, due to choices in cinematography and lighting.
* ReligionOfEvil: The mysterious cult known as The Order.
* RenegadeSplinterFaction: The Order's Sixth Enclave, considered heretics by the rest of the Order for being willing to ignore the prophecy and kill Chris and Alex themselves.
* SacrificialLamb: One of Chris and Alex's friends, who was being stalked by Kind von der Ritter and Slender Man.
* SeekerArchetype: Chris wants to find out what's going on so much he tends to throw caution to the winds. He'll pester and bully his friends into following him, leading to several WhatTheHellHero moments.
* ShoutOut:
** First of all, the names of the major characters can be found in several different Slenderblogs, most notably ''WebVideo/MarbleHornets'' and WebVideo/EverymanHybrid.
** A possible one to WebVideo/BenDrowned or just [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Majora's Mask]]. Specifically, a video by Kind Von Der Ritter [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur3TMHHH5OE refers to the "fourth dawn"]], and KVD's [[http://kindervonderritter.blogspot.com/ blogspot]] even had a countdown to the "first dusk". Chris and Alex were playing [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Master Quest]] in episode 4. A much more blatant one in Log Entry #15, where they actually play Majora's Mask on April 23. With the addition of the cult, it's probable that this series was inspired just as much by WebVideo/BenDrowned as it was by WebVideo/MarbleHornets.
** In Entry #3, we find out that there was a detective on the scene after [[WhamEpisode Log 14-2]] who seems to be quite familiar with a certain [[Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos "Tall Man"]]. At first viewers theorized he was Zeke from [[Blog/SeekingTruth Seeking Truth,]] but it seems he is an original character. Possibly the name is a shout out: '''D'''etective '''Amsel'''. [[Blog/CanYouSeeTheWords Look]] [[WebVideo/EverymanHYBRID familiar]]? The Amsel family plays a larger part in the series' myth arc.
** The Operator symbol from WebVideo/MarbleHornets appears a number of times, though it's so common in the [[Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos Slender Man Mythos]] that it wouldn't count... if it didn't come with with a label-less bottle of pills in a restroom of a creepy house.
** The title is one (maybe) to an episode of ''[[WesternAnimation/InvaderZim Invader Zim.]]''
* StraightGay: Daniel, who people wouldn't even know is gay if not for the fact that he's stated to have a boyfriend (who never appears in the show).
* TemptingFate: "Wanna hear my prediction? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyJYZbOAyTs&feature=channel_video_title Nothing's going to happen]]."
* TimeTravel: In one episode the heroes spend an entire day and some of the night driving to and exploring a government facility. Just as they return to Chris's house, they travel back to just a few minutes after they left.
* TomeOfEldritchLore: The Collective Knowledge.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: A possible motivation for the cult. However, the cultists' idea of a utopia [[InfernalParadise might not be the same as that of most of the rest of humanity]].
* WasOnceAMan: [[spoiler: While Slender Man might be the god that the cultists worship, he might also be the highest ranking member of the cult, who was transformed by their god into what he is now.]]
* WhamEpisode: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDz2NL9CS9Q&feature=channel_video_title Log #14-1]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A55DOrim0Ug&list=UUthgGip1RiT-fIBIzF7EIBQ&index=1&feature=plcp Greg's Log #3]] reveals that [[spoiler:both Jessie and Greg were part of the Order at some point (and the former still is).]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo21AP49uT4 Log Entry #30]]. [[spoiler: Alex calls Chris and tells him that he found his family murdered. Chris returns home and finds his family murdered too. The two of them are now on the run with Heather with almost no resources between them.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zBkgDWIWgY Log Entry #33]]. Chris and Alex try to infiltrate the Order to record a mass [[spoiler: but ended up killing the entire congregation. To make matters worse, they find Matt there and that he had always been in the Order along. It doesn't help that Matt had no choice in the matter as it was decided from birth for him, similar to Heather]]
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: Kind von der Ritter. The cultists wear what seems to be a white-painted Guy Fawkes masks.
