''Code MENT'' is a ''Anime/CodeGeass'' Abridged Seri—er… abridge''ment'', created by Creator/PurpleEyesWTF (also the creator of ''WebVideo/NonePiece''), and is one of the most bizarre [[TheAbridgedSeries abridged series]] out there. It combines standard abridging with faster-paced, nonsensical comedic editing to create a very unique flavor reminiscent of Monty-Python sketch comedies, but without censorship. ''Code MENT'' very loosely follows the actions in the original series – in general, while the events and outcomes are the same-ish, characterization and motivations are jettisoned for the sake of comedy, with all the characters acting considerably more stupid, and editing scenes from several episodes or other series into the continuity, creating a melting pot of insanity. The series is considered a "parody of a parody".

While it sounds wacky on paper (and is even wackier onscreen), [=PurpleEyes=] is known to hold himself to high standards for a Website/YouTube [[OverlyNarrowSuperlative abridger.]] The series is notable for [=PurpleEyes's=] impressive voice-work (giving each character in a cast well known to contain many characters his or her own distinct voice), its fast-paced humor, high-quality editing, and excellent comedic timing.

Sixteen episodes were released, not counting the re-edits, of which there have been two: Episodes 10 and 13. [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6BA3366BBC0ACDAC Watch it here.]] The non-canon "fifth" episode of ''Webvideo/NonePiece'' is also considered the equally non-canon episode 14.5 for ''Code MENT''. There were plans for up to nineteen episodes, with the nineteenth suggested to be the GrandFinale, but the series has ultimately died due to [=PurpleEyes=] having real life obligations to take care of.

It became another progenitor for a new wave of abridging series, just like Little Kuriboh, known as abridge'''MENT'''s, with distinctive voice actors, fast-paced non-sequitur humor, heavy editing, and [[RefugeInAudacity pushing the envelope]] to its [[CrossingTheLineTwice breaking point]]. So far, ''WebVideo/SupernaturalTheAnimationAbridged'', ''WebVideo/InfiniteMENT'' and ''WebVideo/MedakaMENT'' follow the mold.

Not to be confused with the other ''Anime/CodeGeass'' AbridgedSeries: ''WebVideo/CodeGeassTheAbridgedSeries''.

[[folder:A-L]]
* AbnormalAmmo: One decides that Kallen's idea is a fantastic idea: A gun that shoots another gun that in turn shoots "chainsaw bullets".
* AbusiveParents: The crazy woman in the park from episode 9 tells her son he needs to get reacquainted with his father's nine iron. For frolicking.
* AchievementsInIgnorance:
** Lelouch manages to corner Clovis in his G1 base without actually knowing how he managed to do it.
** In Episode 14.5, he manages to get a helicopter into the air by randomly pushing buttons. Which appears to run in the family, as Death the Kid managed to run (and subsequently break) the soul reaping chamber the same way. Despite the room not having any buttons in it.
** In Episode 9, both Lelouch and C.C. find themselves up in high places (on top of a flagpole and on a warehouse shelf, respectively) and wonder how they got there.
** In Episode 16, Lelouch calls Suzaku to meet up with him only to find that Suzaku is currently lost shopping for clothes in the Soup Store. By the time Lelouch reaches the conference room, he's surprised to find out that Suzaku has gotten there ahead of him. When questioned as to how he got there so quickly, Suzaku admits that it's a good question and he has no idea.
* AdaptationalDumbass: Everyone, but Suzaku in particular ends up a lot less bright in this incarnation, especially trying to buy clothes in a soup store.
* AdaptationalHeroism: Mao and Lelouch are actually friends in this version. He ''did'' give Shirley a gun for no apparent reason and then tried to shoot her, however, in his defense, she was pointing the gun at him and Lelouch at the time, so it was self-defense. That doesn't excuse giving her the gun in the first place though. And while he manages to [[spoiler:kidnap Nunnally]] in this as well, he only does it to [[spoiler:teach Lelouch a lesson in caring for others and didn't mean any harm to her]].
* AdaptationalSexuality: Kallen’s biological mother and stepmother are a lesbian couple here.
* AllAccordingToPlan: Subverted.
-->'''Lelouch:''' Aha! Burying the enemy alive in a rockslide! Just like I totally planned!\
'''Ohgi:''' I thought you said you only wanted to kill the right people.\
'''Lelouch:''' What?\
'''Ohgi:''' You buried our would-be-allies—\
'''''[cut to]'' Liberal Japanese Leader:''' Someone get the shovel.\
'''Ohgi:''' —and leveled the city at the bottom of the mountain.\
'''Lelouch:''' TITS!
* AllMenArePerverts: Lelouch tricks an enemy into coming out of his mech by claiming to have a [=CD=] with "over twelve terabytes of pornography." Which is impossible, of course, because CD's can't even hold ''one'' gigabyte; the guy's brain [[DistractedByTheSexy didn't get that far]], apparently. In Episode 15 he's calling tech support for that very CD as well but withholds the truth of what's on it.
* AlternateDVDCommentary: Sort of. [=PurpleEyes=] does one for Episode 14 in the form of annotations in the video, with his comments ranging from [[DontExplainTheJoke pointing out the jokes]], to making snarky comments, to at one point leaving to go get a bag of Fritos. Also, he mentions Romania a lot.
* UsefulNotes/AmericanAccents: Cornelia had a very deep Texas accent, to the point of almost be a SouthernBelle.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: When Kallen discovers that her mother is on meth, she thinks back on the obvious signs.
-->'''Kallen's Mom:''' That stepladder attacked me!\
'''Kallen's Mom:''' It attacked me!\
'''Kallen's Mom:''' I like listening to Music/BruceSpringsteen.
* AssPull: Mocked by Lelouch in universe during Episode 11 as C.C. distracts Suzaku.
-->'''One:''' Oh, of course, telepathy, ''silly me'', and here I was expecting something that '''made sense.'''
* AudibleSharpness:
** That noble in episode one has a case of this.
** Episode 10 has a little FascinatingEyebrow whiplash duel between Deithard and Jeremiah.
** C.C also scares Lelouch by blinking at him.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/abe-lincoln-steampunk-336x283_9137.jpg The previous leader of Japan.]] Too bad he sired Suzaku, otherwise he would have won.
* AuthorityInNameOnly: Emperor Charles is shaping up to be this.
* AwesomeButImpractical: As Lelouch points out, having an advanced, brightly colored vehicle like the Guren on the battlefield invites more trouble than it solves. However, he decides that the Guren's shortcomings are mitigated by the fact that [[TheFriendNobodyLikes Kallen]] wants to pilot it.
* AxCrazy: While there's plenty of crazy, the soldier trying to get some junk food takes the cake.
-->'''Soldier One:''' ''[aiming his gun at half a dozen civilians]'' I just walked a mile to get here! If I don't see a pizza in the next five seconds—\
'''Soldier Two:''' Come on, man, don't do this.\
'''Soldier One:''' People! I have killed before! And I will kill again!
* BawdySong: You will never be able to hear [[spoiler:"Whole New World"]] with a straight face ever again.
* BelligerentSexualTension: In-universe, Lelouch and Kallen seem to refer to themselves as having it in Episode 3 (though Lelouch seems to ignore it after this point).
* BerserkButton:
** Just try saying "Team Deathmatch" in front of Jeremiah. [[SchmuckBait Just try it. See where it gets you]].
** In Episode 11, Suzaku starts shooting wildly after C.C. subjects him to old Madonna music videos. [[HeroicBSOD The look on his face says it all]].
** Lelouch constantly referring to [[Manga/SoulEater Death]] the [[TheCameo Kid]] as [[InsistentTerminology "Ying"]] doesn't do well at quelling anger, either.
--->'''Death The Kid''': Oh, don't start that shit again!
** Lelouch just wants to make sure that C.C. understands a few things… like [[NoIndoorVoice DON'T TOUCH HIS STUFF]]! Also, he doesn't really understand her outfit in Episode 14.
* BigEater: Suzaku. He can live entirely on a diet of crayons, lighter fluid, and Lelouch's best silverware. "Do you think [=McDonalds=] is open? I gotta get my Big Mac on."
-->'''Lelouch:''' That wasn't eating. I've seen eating. What happened in there was pure chaos.
* BearsAreBadNews:
-->'''Lelouch:''' We better get out of this cave. Bears live in caves. And [[TitleDrop bears are crazy]].
* BlatantLies:
** The ending of the first episode, which is rather normal by AbridgedSeries standards, proclaims that "Well, look on the bright side... at least it can't get any weirder." It... does.
** The narration in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU6s45Lbgg8 "An introspective look at the dynamic between 0:06 videos and giving minimal information"]].
--->'''Suzaku:''' Hey, wanna go to a convention?\
'''Lelouch''': ''[angrily]'' No!\
''Yes he does.''
* BloodKnight:
** Cornelia.
--->'''General:''' Madam, we discovered that there is a tunnel below the hotel which we can use to infiltrate.\
'''Cornelia:''' I hear you loud and clear. Let's fire a missile in there and be done with this.\
'''Dalton:''' But, Madam, we found that your sister is among the hostages.\
'''Cornelia:''' I hear you loud and clear. Let's fire a missile in there and be done with this.\
''[{{Beat}}]''\
'''Cornelia:''' '''''Fine'''''.
** Guilford.
--->'''Guilford:''' Let me at 'em; I'll f*ck 'em up!
* BookEnds: Episode 9 has a cutaway gag near the beginning with One standing on a pole wondering how he got up there. At the end of the episode, C.C. wonders the same thing while standing in the rafters of the meth warehouse.
* {{Bottomless Magazine|s}}: In Episode 8 [[spoiler:One (Lelouch) fires probably around ''100 shots or more'' from his ''[[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments pistol]]'' before running out]] (there's roughly seventy shots) Subverted at the last second, [[spoiler:when he's about to shoot Euphemia, and the gun clicks]].
* BrainBleach:
** Episode 14, when Lelouch [[spoiler:picks up a box in Shirley's room and it starts vibrating.]]
--->'''Lelouch:''' Call my therapist. Tell him he's a rich man.
** Again in Episode 15.
--->'''Lelouch:''' ''[having looked at the twelve terabytes of porn]'' It's mostly Todd Phelps and Michael Bay trying to run train on Megan Fox. I tried scheduling some electro-convulsive therapy, but apparently trying to inadvertently wipe your memory to forget the Hangover 3 is FROWNED UPON!!!
* BreakingTheFourthWall:
** Episode 10. "Oh, please, this series was dead long before he got here."
--->'''[[spoiler:Ghost Nappa]]:''' I'm in your show, fucking it up.
** Episode 1: "What happened? Did the animation budget run out again?"
** From the re-cut of Episode 13:
--->"Naw, dude, didn't you read the caption? It's a U.V.A.R.D."
* BrickJoke: ''Linked''.
** In Episode 6:
--->'''Guilford:''' Hell, I stole your watch before you got in here.\
'''Jeremiah:''' So ''that's'' where that thing went.\
'''Guilford:''' Yeah, I lost it though.\
'''Jeremiah:''' Dammit, that was a Rolex!
** Then later:
--->'''Lelouch:''' You see a Rolex I lifted off some guy yesterday? You'd better not be touching my stuff.
** In a later episode:
--->'''Lelouch:''' Suzaku, listen ''very carefully''. I'm about to get ''seriously effed'' right now, so I need you to relay a message. Tell the girl with green hair in my room to '''NOT TOUCH MY STUFF!!!'''
** After meeting C.C. dressed in Lelouch's "One" clothes later:
--->'''Lelouch:''' Blargh! Who are you?!\
'''C.C.:''' ''[unmasks]'' You really are a moron, aren't you? Well, what do you have to say for yourself?\
'''Lelouch:''' [[{{beat}} ...]]\
'''C.C.:''' Oka—\
'''Lelouch:''' '''DON'T TOUCH MY STUFF!!!'''
** In Episode 3, Milly says that Kallen is being indicted into the Student Council. Lelouch calls her out for using the wrong word (inducted vs. indicted) at the start of Episode 8.
--->'''Milly:''' But that was three months ago. And now all you did is prove to us that you didn't know ''both'' words at the time.\
'''Lelouch:''' D'oh!
* BringMyBrownPants: Episode 9 brings this up concerning Shirley when she and others were taken hostage in the hotel.
-->'''Shirley:''' I just peed a moat!
** Followed by Suzaku saying he just peed a moat.
-->'''Lelouch:''' ''({{Squick}}ed out)'' AHH-I was sitting right next to you!
* BrokenRecord: Suzaku at the beginning of episode one. "Forever? Forever? Forever? Forever?"
* BrownNote: Old Music/{{Madonna}} music videos have this effect on Suzaku and Lelouch.
* [[BumblingDad Bumbling Emperor]]: As expected, Emperor Charles has more than a few loose screws and seems to suffer from some case of senility. When trying to remember about Lelouch and Nunally:
-->'''Emperor Charles:''' (''What was I thinking about just now? Something about Japan...'') We're taking over Japan! (''Boo-yah.'')
* BuriedAlive: [[spoiler:Shirley's dad]]. Definitely PlayedForLaughs.
* ButHeSoundsHandsome: In Episode 6:
-->'''Suzaku:''' Who knew they'd put the death of Clover's murder on that stupid One guy?\
'''Lelouch:''' That One guy '''sounds like A REALLY ''AWESOME'' DUDE!'''
* ButtMonkey: "Rivalz, die in a fire."
* CallingYourAttacks: Kallen.
%% commented out as Administrivia.ZeroContextExample * Captain Obvious: Shirley in Episode 9.
* CatchPhrase: "Team Deathmatch!" for ''a lot'' of the characters.
** Almost to the point of being ArcWords.
** '''''LAZER-ARM'''''.
** SEVEN MINUTES!?
* CaughtWithYourPantsDown: Handled the "Table-kun" incident with the amount of tact and subtlety one expects from an Abridged Series.[[note]] That is to say, absolutely none.[[/note]]
-->'''Nunnally:''' I think Nina's really sick. I walked in on her in the Student Faculty Room and she sounded like a dying coyote.
** Also a minor example at the beginning of the "totally non-canon" version of Episode 10, with Lelouch and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wusGIl3v044 the super slowed down "Gimme Pizza" video of all things.]]
*** [[StrangeMindsThinkAlike The same thing happens with Diethard]] [[BrickJoke later on in the episode.]]
* ChainsawGood:
** Lelouch points out that somebody needs to make a gun with chainsaw bullets quickly and gives Kallen a robot because she came up with the only thing greater than that: a gun that shoots a gun that shoots chainsaw bullets.
** In Episode 15, Mao is talking with a shop owner. He mentions his target to kill is an immortal witch, which the shopkeeper thinks he means an ex-wife. He then offers Mao a chainsaw. Mao's response?
--->"Oh-ho, whoa! Buddy, buddy, look at me, look at me, look at me. ''Yes''."
* ChairReveal: Jeremiah does this in Episode 4 [[ParodiedTrope three times in a row to the same person]] with a chair that was originally [[BeyondTheImpossible deadbolted to the floor.]]
* [[SurpriseCheckmate Checkmated]] [[KilledMidSentence Mid-Sentence]]: In Episode 14, this happens in the middle of Lelouch's TrashTalk.
-->'''Lelouch:''' A bold move. But you're about to be eaten alive, my little guppy friend—\
'''Mao:''' Checkmate.\
'''Lelouch:''' '''FUCK YOU!'''
** [=PurpleEyes=] said that Lelouch would've said this even if he won (joking that he himself does regardless of winning/losing), just with the line being inflected differently.
* CoitusUninterruptus: Nina in the middle of her table-related activities is interrupted by Nunnally… [[spoiler:she then continues seconds later with Nunnally still in the room]].
* ContinuityNod:
-->'''Lelouch:''' Damn continuity, damn it to hell!
* CorruptTheCutie: "[[{{Foreshadowing}} It's gonna be a miracle if that girl doesn't grow up to be a psychopath]]."
* CreatorCameo: [=PurpleEyes=] himself pops up at random points in Episode 16 to do nothing but scream at the camera.
* CrossOver: Multiple Code Ment characters appear in episode five of ''Webvideo/NonePiece''.
** We get another crossover with ''Webvideo/NonePiece'' in Episode 15. Luffy appears hiding in some bushes during a brief cut to Shirley. In Episode 7 of ''Webvideo/NonePiece'', we see the scene from Luffy's perspective. [[spoiler:He's trying to snipe Lelouch]].
** The video [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hay33ndHjwk Pirates/and or Ninjas]]. It is a crossover with WebVideo/NonePiece, WebVideo/NarutoTheAbridgedComedyFandubSpoofSeriesShow, and WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries. Lelouch and Yami Yugi are impaled with knives(courtesy of Luffy). Yami doesn't seem to be bothered by this.
** The video [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeMNekTCpYw "The Pursuit of Happiness"]] is a crossover with None Piece, ''WebVideo/CodeMENT'', ''WebVideo/NullmetalAlchemist'', ''WebVideo/DanganRonpaAbridgedThing'' and Soul Whatever.
* CrossoverRelatives: [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]] is cousins with [[Manga/SoulEater Death the Kid]], which also makes Lord Death his uncle as well on his father side, meaning that the Britannian royal family is related as well. He also happens to be [[WebVideo/HellsingUltimateAbridged Alucard]]'s nephew too. Alucard is mentioned to be from Lelouch's mother side of the family, making Marianne related to him.
* DamselInDistress: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] in Episode 16
* DanceBattler: Kallen turns into this in Episode 11.
* DeaderThanDead: Empress Marianne vi Britannia.
-->'''Young Lelouch:''' Dad! Dad! Mom is dead.\
'''Emperor Charles:''' How dead?\
'''Young Lelouch:''' Dead enough to cause Nunally to go blind.\
''' Emperor Charles:''' That's ''pretty'' dead.
* DescriptionCut: Lots. Mostly of the form "A says B is smart, cut to B acting incredibly stupid."
-->'''Lelouch:''' Who knows what kind of masterminds are behind all this?\
''[cut to…]''\
'''Lloyd:''' KEYS!
** Episode 5:
--->'''Euphy:''' Seriously, how are you still part of the army? I thought you had to be at least ''somewhat'' smart to be in there!\
''cut to:''\
'''Soldier 1:''' Yo man, who is this fat f*ck?\
'''Soldier 2:''' I dunno, but whoever he is, his fat ass is weighin' down this plane!
** From Episode 7:
-->'''Newscaster''': In an effort to capture the criminal mastermind known as ''One''—\
''Cut to:''\
'''One:''' OH-MY-GOD-MY-SHOES-ARE-ON-FIRE!
** Episode 9:
--->'''Cornelia:''' This One guy seems to be our biggest threat.\
''[cut to…]''\
'''One:''' HOW DID I GET UP HERE?!
** Also from Episode 9:
--->'''Kallen:''' It's a good thing I have One to look up to. He's a great role model.\
''[cut to…]''\
'''One:''' We need to score some drugs.
** Episode 10.
--->'''Cornelia:''' Well, we'll have to concentrate on the army with the most competent leader.\
''Cut to:''\
'''Liberal Japanese Leader:''' I stepped on a nail!\
''Cut to:''\
'''One:''' ''[hitting himself repeatedly]'' Dammit! [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Must. Learn. To. Read!]]\
''Cut to:''\
'''Cornelia:''' Or… just flip a coin or something...
** DoubleSubverted at one point, in Episode 14.
--->'''Cornelia:''' They're probably off somewhere laughing at us right now!\
''[cut to Tamaki laughing… except he's just [[TheStoner high again]]]''
** Subverted in Episode 15:
--->'''C.C.:''' You'll never get away with this, Mao. I'm friends with Lelouch too, you know. He's probably mounting a rescue as we speak.\
''[cut to…]''\
'''Lelouch:''' I friggin' plugged it into HDMI!\
''[cut to…]''\
'''C.C.''': Oh god, I'm gonna die.\
''Lelouch appears on the fair's display next to C.C. and Mao, just as planned.''
** From the same episode, we get two in one scene:
--->'''C.C.:''' I know you're gonna think I'm crazy when I say this, but Mao has the ability to read minds. I know because I'm the one that gave him that power. And ever since I did, [[AMindIsATerribleThingToRead he's slowly]] [[PowerIncontinence been going crazy]].\
''[cut to Mao listening to Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" on an [=MP3=] player]''\
'''Mao:''' OH MY GOD THIS ZUNE IS GREAT!\
''[cut back to Lelouch and C.C.]''\
'''Lelouch:''' Just so we're a hundred percent clear on the situation, [[SelectiveObliviousness I have not heard a word you've said]].\
'''C.C.:''' Mao's gonna kill us.\
'''Lelouch:''' That's nice.\
''[cut back to Mao in a gun store]''\
'''Mao:''' Hi, I'm here to kill some people.
* TheDeterminator: When it comes time to rouse the Dark Knights, Lelouch actually does manage to spring into action:
-->'''Kallen''': One, it looks like the Britanians are retreating!\
'''One''': Like Hell we are! We're going after them!\
'''Kallen''': But we're in a submarine! There's no way we'll make it in time!\
'''One''': [[PrecisionFStrike FUCK that!]]
* DidntThinkThisThrough: '''Happens ''all'' the time,''' perhaps the most blatant and immediate example being Lelouch failing to design air holes into his mask.
-->'''Lelouch:''' OH MY GOD, ''I FORGOT TO PUT AIRHOLES IN THIS HELMET!''
* TheDitz: '''All of the characters'''.
** Special mention goes to Suzaku, who gets extra points for mental retardation.
*** From episode 6:
---->'''Lelouch''': Well Suzaku, it was great to have you over for dinner. Although there was really no need for you to eat all of the silverware.\
'''Suzaku''': I need to be under constant supervision.
*** Suzaku literally failed an IQ test in a world where almost everyone acts insane.
---->'''Lelouch''': So why did they let you out of prison anyway?\
'''Suzaki''': Apparently if you score negative on an IQ test they give you a free pass out of everything.\
'''Lelouch''': You did so bad you owe points?\
'''Suzaku''': I did bad?
*** During one point, Suzaku is in questioning with Jeremiah, who is repeatedly assuring Suzaku they just want to ask a couple questions and let him go. Suzaku instead takes this as a hostile attack and begins belligerently attacking Jeremiah with nonsensical words before making an extremely annoying and incredibly indescribable noise. It's a vuvuezela. For which Jeremiah immediately decides, fuck it, execute him.
** Kallen's Mother (her actual one from the show) is especially eccentric. She accuses stepladders and vases of attacking her. And then she teaches them violent lessons in pain.
** As of Episode 16, it seems to be implied that Rivalz is, as Rivalz has apparently just discovered a naked woman on the Internet… only for SUZAKU of all people to point out that porn has been on the internet for years.
* DrivenToSuicide:
** The soldiers at the end of the first episode after Lelouch confronts them with ''[[Series/CSIMiami CSI… MIAMI]]''.
** [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Oompa Loompas]].
** Implied with Euphemia in episode 5.
* DrivesLikeCrazy:
-->"Look! No hands!"
** Episode 10:
--->'''Liberation Member:''' Sir, for the love of god, open your eyes!\
'''Tohdoh:''' I won't lie: I've been drinking again.
* DrivingStick: Episode one.
-->"Oh shit. This may be a bad time to tell you, but I can't drive stick. ''[crash]''
* DubNameChange: Zero is now "One".
* DumbassHasAPoint: Suzaku of all people in Episode 16. Suzaku notes outside the elevator there is a Turret, stating it was the Kidnapper. Lelouch actually points out that it was actually put there by the school to kill Janitors on payday, Suzaku points out that the school's costs are still high in which Lelouch points out that it costs a lot of money to shoot said turret off on a bi-weekly basis, leading this fleeting moment of genius (Or common sense, this IS Suzaku we're talking about.).
-->'''Suzaku:''' So they save money by killing Janitors, but waste money by killing Janitors.\
'''Lelouche:''' Well……… huh…
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Jeremiah's "death" at the end of [[https://youtu.be/IblwlpnWmEk?t=8m episode 10]] is way more '''''[[BadassNormal badass]]''''' than in the original show.
-->"NOW, IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME, ''I'LL SEE YOU IN HELL!''"
* EskimosArentReal: In the first version of Episode 13, Lelouch insists that British people aren't real, [[{{Irony}} despite technically being one himself]].
-->'''Lelouch:''' Have you ever seen a British person? I haven't. Therefore they don't exist.\
'''C.C.:''' Just because you haven't met one doesn't mean they don't exist.\
'''Lelouch:''' ''(mockingly)'' Oh my god you guys, British people are real, they're walking around everywhere! ''(normally)'' They're like the WolfMan. They're not real.\
'''C.C.:''' You're gotta be kidding me.\
'''Lelouch:''' Look at the English dictionary! The ''English'' dictionary! All the words in there are ''American!''
* EveryCarIsAPinto:
-->'''Jeremiah:''' If I'm back here, and you're back here, who's driving the car?\
''*cue fiery live-action car explosion*''
* ExactWords: This little treat from Episode 12, after Lelouch has been informed that the group hasn't received any added funds since their last battle:
-->'''One:''' But Tamaki, I thought you said you were getting a lot of ''use'' out of our drug operation!\
'''Tamaki:''' ''[speaking unnaturally slowly]'' We should go to 7-11 [[PunctuatedForEmphasis RIGHT. NOW]]!\
'''One:''' ''[resignedly understands what happened]'' [[FacePalm Okay]].\
'''Tamaki:''' [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments We should get a DOG]]!
* ExpospeakGag: One soldier launches into a [[SesquipedalianLoquaciousness long and elaborately-worded speech]] about their military situation, which he sums up by declaring that they are all in a great big [[RunningGag Team Death Match]]. Jeremiah [[BerserkButton shoots him for his troubles]].
-->'''Mook:''' Well, basically, we're fighting a native people who's overthrown by our imperialistic government which is situated elsewhere. Our nation desires to maintain these various underlying colonies. In particular this former state has multiple resistance factions which ultimately fight for an independent sovereign nation. Meanwhile we fight to eliminate their unruly resistance to our suppressive discriminatory governance. Therefore and thusly, we are all stuck...in a giant...[[ArcWords team deathmatch]].
* ExtremeOmnivore: Suzaku. He's been known to consume plastic, cyanide, glass, crayons, and lighter fluid, among other things. And silverware. And a whole end table.
* FelonyMisdemeanor:
** PlayedForLaughs. Seems to be the code of conduct for all of Purple Eyes's works. It's perfectly acceptable and forgivable to stab people, shoot people, lie to people, manipulate people, sexually harass people, insult the dignity of people (note that "people" can include your own friends). But don't you ever ''ever'' interrupt someone; it's just rude.
** Toudou was much more upset over the enemy cutting his cable than the fact that they killed hundreds of his soldiers and buried part of his group under a mountain. Then again, it ''is'' [[CloudCuckoolander Toudou]].
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In Episode 6, Lelouch says that his blaming Suzaku for his own actions will never come back to bite him. This statement is immediately followed [[LampshadeHanging by the words Epic Foreshadowing flashing across the screen in big red letters with a siren playing behind them]].
* FreezeFrameBonus: In episode 8 the caption says "Fottage Taken by the Perpetraeor". Apparently even the TV reporters aren't immune to idiocy.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: "What are you all looking at? Is it that horse guy again?"
* FutureSlang: Refrain.
-->'''One:''' Tamaki, I don't know what kind of lingo you kids think is ''hip'' nowadays, but let's just call it ''meth'' like everybody else!
* {{Gasp}}: Lelouch ''says'' "Audible gasp!"
* GeneralFailure: The vast majority of military leaders in the series, on all sides.
* GilliganCut:
** Someone mentions how much of a criminal mastermind One is, cut to One doing something stupid.
--->'''One:''' Oh my God! ''My shoes are on fire!''
** Or if C.C. mentions how crazy Mao is.
--->'''Mao:''' Oh my God, this Zune is great!
* GroinAttack: According to episode fourteen's annotations:
-->"Don't worry, [Lelouch] got shot in the penis. It's broken so it doesn't matter."
* HalloweenEpisode
* HonorBeforeReason: In Episode 16, Suzaku refuses to save Nunnally, who was kidnapped and bound to a trap, because he doesn't want to be sexist towards her by contributing to the DamselInDistress trope.
* HypocriticalHumor:
** Nina and Rivalz saying that Suzaku has a stupid voice[[note]] He does, but theirs are even worse[[/note]].
** A random creep in a car propositions Lelouch:
--->'''Man:''' Get in the car, I'll give ya some candy.\
'''Lelouch:''' Dumbass! You just lost yourself some candy!
* IdiotSavant: Suzaku, the mental retard giant robot pilot extraordinaire.
--> '''Suzaku''': ''[[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Koo-koo-ka-chu Mrs. Robinson]]''.
** According to at least one gag, they need Suzaku to pilot it because he's so dumb that he's immune to pain.
* IMinoredInTropology: ''Doctor'' Jeremiah, with a [[AsskickingLeadsToLeadership PhD in Asskicking]], a Bachelor's in Pain, and a minor in [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Women's Studies]].
* ImpracticallyFancyOutfit: Issuing miniskirts to the women as the standard uniform. Made more funny because ''it shouldn't'' be a problem in the first place, since they don't impair running. Giant bullets shot from Mechas are another matter of course.
** "Practicality be damned, I look good!"
* IntentionalEngrishForFunny:
** "All your drugs are belong to us!"
** [[StealthPun Snrk]].
* IntoxicationEnsues: "I'm tripping balls!"
* IntrepidReporter: Camera 3.
-->'''Deithard:''' Hey, where the hell is Camera 3?\
'''Assistant:''' He said he was gonna get some "action shots".\
''[cut to collapsing building]''\
'''Camera 3:''' ''[falling to his death]'' THIS-IS-GONNA-BE-THE-BEST-SHOT-EVER!
* InsaneTrollLogic: Overall, this series is fueled almost entirely by this trope. Heck, it pretty much IS this trope.
** Lelouch ''all the time'':
--->'''Lelouch:''' So, you're going to shoot me huh? Well, [[spoiler:the only person who shoots me is me! ''[points a gun at his head]'' Good luck trying to shoot me WHEN I'M ALREADY DEAD]]!\
'''C.C.:''' …You are a whole new level of stupid.\
'''Lelouch:''' Ah, but who is stupider? [[spoiler:The one trying to kill himself, or the person trying to kill the person trying to kill himself]]?! ''[beat]'' That's what I thought.
** Suzaku is just as bad...
--->'''One:''' Suzaku, listen! It's me!\
'''Suzaku:''' No, it is not! Because I'm me! And that makes you not me!\
'''One:''' What the f***?\
''[{{Beat}}]''\
'''One:''' You know what, just kill me.
** Lelouch again:
--->'''Lelouch:''' If I'm out there, then who's in here...? ''[GASP]'' ''I'M MAGIC!''
* ItsLikeIAlwaysSay: Or Lelouch's mother, as the case may be.
-->'''Lelouch:''' Mao, Mao, Mao. It's like my mother used to say: "You can keep all your farts in a bag, but you'll never really appreciate the first time you let it rip."
* ItMakesSenseInContext: For certain definitions of "sense" and "context".
* LameComeback: In episode ten.
-->'''Deithard:''' Oh, it's you two idiots. What do you want?\
'''Jeremiah:''' You're the idiot. ''I am so good at come backs''.
* LargeHam: Lelouch and Jeremiah all the time.
* LarynxDissonance: There isn't much of any effort to make female voices sound female and '''IT IS GLORIOUS'''. Many of them do sound sufficiently feminine, especially later on (such as C.C., Milly and Nunally), [[ManOfAThousandVoices but more importantly, they all manage to sound completely different]].
* LeeroyJenkins: Suzaku.
-->"Koo-koo-ca-choo, Mrs. Robinson!"
-->"Comin' at ya Cleopatra!"
[[/folder]]

[[folder:M-Z]]
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: Even though she died, Lelouch's mother sure didn't seem to express much pain.
-->'''Lelouch's Mother:''' That smarts!
* {{Malaproper}}: In Episode 3, Milly announced the Student Council's intention of "indicting" Kallen to it. It was clear Milly meant to say "induct" and [[BrickJoke 4 episodes later]], Lelouch of all people, calls her out on this.
-->'''Lelouch:''' When Kallen was getting sworn in to the Student Council, you said "indicted". […] You meant to say she was being in''duct''ed!
* ManOfAThousandVoices: All the voices are done by Purple Eyes, and he does a pretty damn good job at it. Though some of the female characters sound kind of similar. Kallen, (and one of her Moms), sound like Mickey Mouse.
* MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: In "The Pursuit of Happiness", we get a crossover between ''WebVideo/NullmetalAlchemist'', ''WebVideo/CodeMENT'', ''WebVideo/DanganRonpaAbridgedThing'', ''Soul Whatever'', and ''Webvideo/NonePiece''. It's just as ridiculous as it sounds.
* MediumAwareness: During XIII-2:
-->'''Soldier 1:''' ''[a submarine flies toward them]'' Dude, is that a sub?\
'''[[InsistentTerminology Soldier 2]]:''' No. Didn't you read the caption earlier? It's a UVARD.\
'''Soldier 1:''' [[PrecisionFStrike The fuck is a UVARD?!]] ''[hit by UVARD]''
* {{Metaphorgotten}}:
** Episode 8:
--->'''Lelouch/One:''' We are the Dark Knights for Justice. Because as children we were nursed on the milk of justice, and as we grew up we acquired a taste for justice. Now as we get older we once again desire the taste of justice...but we cannot find the milk! So we go to Starbucks! And we get a coffee! But it's not the same thing! IT SUCKS! WHY DID I ORDER THIS!? IT'S TERRIBLE! And now you all understand what our mission is. [[PunctuatedForEmphasis And. What. We. Must. Do]].
** Episode 2:
--->'''Lelouch:''' Like making babies from a candy! Mm, candy.
** Episode 9:
--->'''Lelouch:''' Don't flatter yourself. I was just trying to bite your tongue off so I wouldn't have to hear your ugly face anymore.
* MindControlMusic: C.C. mentions that when she gave a Geass to [[Music/{{Kesha}} Ke$ha]], it [[TakeThat made everyone think she could sing]].
* MondegreenGag: Lelouch believes that the song Heartbeat by Grum is actually called "High People" because she misheard it.
* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: "NO ONE CARES ABOUT KALLEN!"
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: One's reaction when he learns that he and the Black Knights just attacked a department store instead of a drug warehouse, [[PlayedForLaughs right before he orders Oghi to steal as much stuff as possible]].
* NeverLearnedToRead: It's generally safe to assume a character can't read until proven otherwise.
** Lelouch, Suzaku, and Kallen.
** C.C. is the only character in the entire series that has proven she isn't illiterate, which might explain a lot as to why she seems to be the smartest person around, (although it helps that she's also the only character who isn't insane).
** Ohgi reads Lelouch's plans in episode ten but, considering that Lelouch can't spell (in English anyway), Ohgi might just be as bad as he is.
** Bizarrely, at least one of the [[ThoseTwoGuys Britannian soldiers]] knows how to read, and he implies the other can as well. This is in sharp contrast to [[AxCrazy the rest]] [[CloudCuckooLander of their]] [[TheGuardsMustBeCrazy characterization.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll: Many of the [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Characters]] listed below have various quirks preventing them from staying ''completely'' on the ball.
** Ohgi is pretty reasonable, especially when dealing with One and his drug-addled cohorts...but then he finds Villetta in the dumpster. His blatant attraction to her (to the point of stripping her down while she's asleep) apparently takes priority over One's orders.
** Death the Kid is the most reasonable of his family, but ''Soul Whatever'' shows that he's not exactly the smartest guy around.
** C.C. wears the strangest outfits. Lelouch is repeatedly baffled by whatever disguise she happens to be wearing from Episode 14 onward.
--->'''Lelouch''': She stopped with the whole white clothes thing. Now she looks like a cross between a FrenchMaid and a Vietnamese hooker.
* NoodleIncident:
** There are multiple references to an incident from Suzaku and Lelouch's childhood involving a Slip-N-Slide. [[spoiler:He set it on fire. While Lelouch was on it]].
** "And that was the third time I tried meth." (Lelouch)
** "And that's why I'm not legally allowed to use scissors anymore." (Suzaku)
** The conversation the Japanese guards have while [[spoiler:Lelouch kills their leader]].
--->'''Guard:''' ...and it took a ton of hair spray...could you believe it? I had to run and get the hose...but thank god I knew were the ax was...banana shoes...
** "Besides the years of stupidity I've had to suffer because of you people, you let somebody blow up a bridge right in front of you and didn't do anything." (Kewell)
* NWordPrivileges: Lelouch loudly exclaims "fuck you, nigga!" to Mao in Episode 16, while covered with an AshFace. Mao retorts that only he's allowed to say that, since he's a black albino.
* OffTheRails: It's about as related to the original plot as the TabletopRPG of ''Anime/SamuraiPizzaCats'' with the original Japanese abridged SourceBook translated by a barely-literate Korean farmer in both languages in a session with a bunch of amateur noobs.
* OnlySaneMan:
** C.C. and Kewell are the only characters in the cast that aren't some variety of crazy or stupid.
** Euphemia's pretty sane too. After that whole suicide thing, anyway--or perhaps because of it...
** Ohgi seems to know what he's doing. Also, though she's just the student body president, Milly is pretty on the ball.
** [[Manga/SoulEater Death the Kid]], especially in comparison to his relatives.
** ''Mao'', of all people, is actually a pretty sane and rational guy. He's pretty friendly too.
** Lelouch seems to have been this as a kid.
* OhCrap: Deithard has an understated one:
-->'''Tamaki:''' [[EvilLaugh AHAHAHAHAHAHA]]--
-->'''Deithard:''' Has anyone seen One?
-->''[[[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Tamaki continues laughing as an Oompa-Loompa dances to Perov Stelar's "Booty Swing" on the table]]]''
-->'''Deithard:''' [[DramaticDeadpan So it begins]].
* ParodySue: Lelouch. He's a prince [[BigScrewedUpFamily who's also related to]] [[Manga/SoulEater Death the Kid]] and [[WebVideo/HellsingUltimateAbridged Alucard]] with incredible power and influence over others, gets away with stuff that can only be described as ''batshit insane''... and spends most of his time just being a Jerkass, scoring drugs, blowing stuff up, and contributing nothing but menace to society.
* ThePasswordIsAlwaysSwordfish: Lelouch mentions in passing that Suzaku actually does always use "Swordfish" as his password.
* PhraseCatcher: Whenever Rivalz talks, half of the time Lelouch's response is "Shut the fuck up, Rivalz."
* PoliticalOvercorrectness: In Episode 16, Suzaku refuses to help Nunally because it plays into the DamselInDistress trope, and is therefore sexist. He also can't pretend that she's not a woman, because that's denying Nunally her sexual identity.
* PreviouslyOn: "Last time!" Parodied in the beginning of Episode 5. None of it happened, of course...[[ThisIsYourPremiseOnDrugs we think]].
* PsychopathicManchild: Lelouch, mostly. He's very easily distracted. Despite driving the plot, most of his insane stunts are done on a whim. Lloyd as well.
* RapidFireComedy: Part of what makes this series so different from other AbridgedSeries out there. It's rare for a single character to speak for more than a few seconds at a time.
* ReCut: All of the first eight episodes were redone to meet Purple Eyes' growing skill and standards. Some jokes were lost in the process but ultimately the final versions are superior. Episode 10 has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi9zopO0q0k a good example of an extended cut]].
* RuleOfFunny: ...it's an abridged series.
** Kallen and Lelouch's inability to pronounce "Britannia" in the recut of episode ten
** Brittle... Brittle Sticks... Stick Brittle...
* RefugeInAudacity: There is not a single plot in the entire series that hasn't made extensive use of this.
* {{Robosexual}}: In episode ten, Lelouch's computer says "Thank you for waiting...my love."
* RunningGag:
** Team Death Match!
** Lelouch breaking every door he opens.
* SanityBall: Lelouch's general sanity is directly tied to whoever he's sharing a scene with. He's typically a borderline IdiotHero, but he tends to be the StraightMan if he's with anybody that happens to be crazier/stupider than him, such as Suzaku.
* SayMyName: "JAAASSSSSPPPPPEEEERRRRRR!"
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Mao says this word for word in Episode 14 when a MexicanStandOff between Shirley, Lelouch and himself goes bad. You know, as far as one can go "bad" when the situation is a MexicanStandOff.
-->'''Shirley:''' Nobody move until I figure out what I'm doing!
* SelfDeprecation:
** After seeing a clip of ''Webvideo/NonePiece'' Lelouch shouts "THIS IS AWFUL!"
** During the fake TAC awards:
--->'''Jeremiah:''' Here's a list of the categories we've won. "Best Stolen Idea Since Facebook".
--->'''Suzaku and Lelouch:''' HOORAY!
--->'''Jeremiah:''' Okay, ''that'' award shouldn't have warranted that particular reaction from you two.
--->'''Lelouch:''' Hey, I'll take them where I can get them.
--->'''Jeremiah:''' Moving on. The "Burns My Eyeballs Just Watching It" award.
--->'''Suzaku and Lelouch:''' YAAAAY!
--->'''Jeremiah:''' ''[as the other two continue to cheer in the background]'' Well, let it never be said that you two can't be optimistic.
** The introduction of episode fourteen has the tag line "Like ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries'', only worse!" This, humorously enough, got a ShoutOut in the intro to Episode 56 of ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries''; Yami's opening narration is "[[IronicEcho Like]] ''[[IronicEcho Code MENT]]'', [[IronicEcho only worse]]!"
* SerialEscalation: Think of all the shenanigans done so far. Creator/PurpleEyesWTF managed to top all of them in the first ''nine seconds'' of Episode 12. And it goes even further from there.
-->'''Lelouch:''' Getting kicked off the Internet for this one.
* ShaggyFrogStory: Lelouch's...advice to Mao in Episode 15.
* ShockSite: "Hey, what's goin' on over here...? What's she doin' with that cup...? OH GOD I'M GONNA BE SICK!"
* ShoutOut: Like all Abridged Series, there are an absurd amount of them. Here are some:
** The whole Skype call in episode 8 seems like a hilarious homage to ''WesternAnimation/SpaceGhostCoastToCoast''.
** Raymond Philips from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi9zopO0q0k Episode 10 (non-canon edition)]] is likely a shout-out to [[WebAnimation/HomestarRunner Senor Cardgage]].
** Jeremiah's "seven minutes" rant:
---> '''Jeremiah:''' [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil5 SEVEN MINUTES IS ALL I CAN SPARE TO PLAY WITH THEM]]!
** The Japanese leader telling people [[WebVideo/RedLetterMedia to email him if they want him to send them a pizza bagel]].
** Jeremiah (while high on PCP) screaming that "[[Film/{{Inception}} the dream is collapsing]]".
** Episode 5 has a solider watching a scene from WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged.
---> "Seriously? That [[TakeThat crap]] again?"
** Episode 5 also has Lelouch watch a bit from Creator/LittleKuriboh's video "Without Yugi"
---> '''Lelouch:''' What is this crap?
** "[[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer Bored now]]."
** In Episode 10:
---> '''Tamaki:''' [[Film/ASerbianFilm If you own a baby, keep it the hell away from Serbia]]!
---> '''Jeremiah:''' [[VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight But enough talk! Have at you!]]
** Also from episode ten: Death The Kid from ''Manga/SoulEater'' makes an appearance, as do two characters from ''Anime/{{Hellsing}}''/''WebVideo/HellsingUltimateAbridged'', [[spoiler:Ghost Nappa]] from ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged'', and Lelouch's computer says that it's connecting to [[Franchise/{{Terminator}} Skynet]].
** "[[Film/TheMatrix I need to get out of here. It's the smell...]]"
** Notably, from Episode 13:
--->'''Suzaku:''' Somebody died, [[AmateurSleuth and it's up to me to find out who it was and why]]!
--->'''Lelouch:''' ''[nonchalantly gazing at his [[BrandX iPony 2]]]'' Shirley's Dad and he was buried alive. There, I'm a regular ComicStrip/DickTracy.
--->'''Suzaku:''' [[SmallReferencePools Five people left on the planet]] [[LampshadedTheObscureReference know who that is]] [[BerserkButton and I'm not one of them]]!
** "[[Film/KungPowEnterTheFist I implore you to reconsider]]."
** Episode 14:
---> '''Mao:''' [[Series/{{Firefly}} You just sit here and stay shiny]].
** Lelouch's ringtone is "[[WesternAnimation/FriskyDingo Cat Party]]" for a few episodes.
** Nina's voice sounds awfully a lot like [[WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce Meatwad]].
** To ''WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries'' in Episode 12:
--->'''Security Guy with Deep Voice:''' Attention assholes, anyone caught screwing with the old man gets shot by our very visible guns.
** At the end of the title sequence for Episode 15, "[[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} All Hail the Hypnotoad]]" [[FreezeFrameBonus briefly]] flashes on screen.
* SimpletonVoice: Suzaku, Rivalz, and Nina.
* SmartBall: Suzaku, of all people, holds one in Episode 16. While he still has his moments (trying to buy clothes at ''the soup store''), he's suddenly competent enough to kick and destroy a turret while it's shooting at him.
* TheSociopath: [[LackOfEmpathy Lelouch]], [[BumblingDad Emperor Charles]], [[BloodKnight Cornelia]], and [[BloodKnight Guilford]]. All [[ComedicSociopathy played for laughs]].
* SoundEffectBleep: Used very inconsistently. "Fuck" will often be said unbleeped one moment, then be bleeped a few seconds later. It mostly seems to be dictated by RuleOfFunny.
* SpicyLatina: Villetta.
* StupidSurrender: [[spoiler:Mao]] does this at the end of Episode 15, even though he's gotten out of worse. [[BulletHell It doesn't do him much good]].
* TheStoner: Tamaki. Taken to an extreme in Episode 12 where he consumed all the meth they stole instead of selling it.
* TakeThat:
** In the first episode, Nagata tries to make the Britannians chasing him back off by saying he has the entire cast of ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'' in his truck. They respond by opening fire.
** Diethard complains about how they cancelled ''WesternAnimation/MegasXLR'' so Cornelia could broadcast the Shinjuku Massacre.
** Lelouch referring to the complete script of ''Franchise/StarWars: Film/ThePhantomMenace'' as the exact opposite of clever.
** In Episode 10:
--->'''One:''' Here, Kallen.
--->'''Kallen:''' What's this?
--->'''One:''' It's a flash drive containing the mix of all the best Music/OwlCity songs for our journey to Shatter Mountain.
--->'''Kallen:''' But it says it's only one megabyte big.
--->''[{{Beat}}]''
--->'''Kallen:''' Oh.
** ...And Episode 11:
--->'''Lelouch:''' Ohgi, is the robot okay?!
--->'''Kallen:''' I'm fine, just a couple of bruises.
--->'''Lelouch:''' Yeah, that's cool, I guess, but IS THE ROBOT OKAY?!
--->'''Kallen:''' I don't know. The status screen just says Creator/JessicaAlba's movie career.
--->'''Lelouch:''' Damn, that bad, huh?
** Episode 4:
--->'''Lelouch:''' ''[finishing his monologue]'' ...but you can call me...Creator/AdamWest!
--->'''Kallen:''' Noooo.
--->'''Lelouch:''' Uh, call me five?
--->'''Kallen:''' Lower.
--->'''Lelouch:''' Four.
--->'''Kallen:''' Lower!
--->'''Lelouch:''' Five!
--->'''Kallen:''' Oh my God, no!
--->'''Lelouch:''' Two?
--->'''Kallen:''' Lower...
--->'''Lelouch:''' Colin Farrell!
--->'''Kallen:''' Not ''that'' low!
** In Episode 11, listening to old Music/{{Madonna}} songs is a BrownNote for both Suzaku and Lelouch.
** Episode 4 has a rather interesting case:
--->'''Lelouch:''' What are you talking about? I spent the entirety of yesterday watching the funny episodes of ''Series/EverybodyLovesRaymond''. ''[thinking to himself]'' You fool! Everyone KNOWS those don't exist!
--->'''Kallen:''' [[SubvertedTrope Okay, your story checks out]]!
--->'''Lelouch:''' ''[thinking, filled with satisfaction]'' Like I was saying, you're a genius!
** Episode 13 has one for the iPad...sorry, [[BlandNameProduct "iPony"]]:
--->'''Lelouch:''' These things are clearly too big for conventional pockets, and clearly too small to be real computers. ''What is the point of this thing?!''
** ...And to keep things fair, Windows 7 takes the blame for some technological failures.
--->'''Lelouch:''' DAMN YOU, WINDOWS SEVEN!
** Another crack at Microsoft from Episode 15:
--->'''C.C.:''' I know you're going to think I'm crazy when I say this, but Mao has the ability to read minds. I know because I'm the one that gave him that power. And ever since I did, he's [[SanitySlippage slowly been going crazy]].\
''[Cut to Mao]''\
'''Mao:''' Oh my God, this [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zune Zune]] is great!
** One episode has the TitleSequence interrupted by the channel being changed by accident, forcing the guy with the remote to cycle through channels to get back to the show. After getting to each wrong one, he can usually be heard saying, "No..." in an absently annoyed kind of way... but when he gets to a channel showing ''Manga/LuckyStar'', he comes out instead with, "Oh [[PrecisionFStrike HELL]] no!"
** Lelouch tries to use [[BrainBleach electro-convulsive therapy]] to try to forget ''[[Film/TheHangover The Hangover 3]]''.
** Episode 16 seems to have one directly towards the original anime, where Lelouch explains how in a series where C.C. was an immortal witch, he got hypnotic eye powers, and [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Nina humped the corner of a table]], Suzaku kicking the sentry turret on the ceiling was fucking stupid. [[labelnote:Note]]Funnily enough, all three of the things Lelouch lists have their explanations for why they are/why they happened. Suzaku's ridiculous inhuman feats outside of his Knightmare Frame are never explained.[[/labelnote]]
* TangledFamilyTree: Even more so than the original series, since Lelouch's paternal uncle and cousin are Death and Death the Kid, and his maternal uncle is Alucard.
-->'''C.C:''' It's official. This shit makes no sense at all.
* TemptingFate: In episode fourteen:
-->'''Mao:''' You know, I thought today was gonna suck, but it turns out I'm gonna find the girl I've been looking for forever and I got a new best friend. ''[looks through the window behind Mao to Shirley pointing a gun at him]'' ''[{{Beat}}]'' OH JUST FUCKING BALLS!
* ThatCameOutWrong: In episode six, when Lelouch is chasing a cat that stole his One helmet.
-->'''Lelouch:''' That pussy's got my head's protection! Wow. That did not come out right. ''[falls into a bush]'' Well, this figures. I'm supposed to be chasing pussy but instead I'm stuck in the bush. ''[{{Beat}}]'' What is wrong with me today! ''[finds Suzaku]'' Suzaku, what are you doing here?
-->'''Suzaku:''' I'm here to kick ass. ''[hears meow]'' Now, let's go take care of your pussy problem!
-->'''Lelouch:''' Well, at least, it's not just me.
* TheTalk:
** In Episode 9, after being asked by Milly where babies come from, Kallen's response was "When a woman and another woman [[HomosexualReproduction love each other very much they]]..."
** In Episode 12, Lelouch explains to Nunnally what happens when a woman and a table love each other very much.
* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: Jeremiah, in Episode 5.
-->'''Jeremiah:''' Let's hug it out, bitch!
* TitleDrop: In Episodes 2--"Big Trouble", 6--"The Smell Of Victory", and 11--"Bears Are Crazy".
* TooDumbToLive:
** Kallen and Suzaku.
** Lelouch forgot to put air holes in his helmet.
* UnexplainedRecovery: Jeremiah and Villetta are involved in a pretty horrific car crash at the start of Episode 4, of the "giant fireball of death" variety. They show up later with nary a scratch on either of them.
-->'''Jeremiah:''' Sorry I'm late, you guys, car trouble.
* UnusualEuphemism: Lelouch's mind is so warped from using so many that when hearing someone was going to be indicted (Milly meant to say "inducted"), his response was "Milly, that's disgusting!"
* VitriolicBestBuds: Lelouch and Suzaku. Suzaku's endangered Lelouch a number of times (for instance setting his Slip-N-Slide on fire while he was on it), Lelouch tends to berate him for his stupidity and the two have had some rather heated arguments throughout the series. Despite this, he's one of the few people Lelouch seems to actually care about, going so far as to rescue him from execution while disguised as One.
* TheWalrusWasPaul: Despite some continuity and an overarching plot, the show is mostly made for the sake of humor, not consistency. If something is funny but defies logic, it will usually show up anyway, get no explanation, then move on just as quickly to the next thing.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Prince Clovis, like his canonical counterpart. Also discussed between Jeremiah and Villetta.
-->'''Jeremiah:''' C'mon, it was Clovis! No one even remembers the guy.\
'''Villetta:''' ''(doubtful)'' Hmmmm...\
'''Jeremiah:''' [[FlatCharacter His character development was about as deep as the shallow end of the pool.]]
* WhatIsThisFeeling: Lelouch's computer asks this before referring to Lelouch as "my love".
* WhenIWasYourAge: [[RuleOfFunny For some reason]], this seems to be the catchphrase for One.
* WhoIsDriving: A visual gag in Episode 4, which opens on Jeremiah and Villetta in the back of a government vehicle discussing Suzaku's sentence.
-->'''Jeremiah''': By the way ... if I'm back here ... and you're back here ... who the hell is driving this car? [See UnexplainedRecovery entry above for the aftermath of this scene]
* YourMom:
-->'''Cornelia:''' Lloyd, you're our top researcher.
-->'''Lloyd:''' Your ''mother's'' our top researcher!
-->'''Cornelia:''' You do know I'm the new princess in charge of this area?
-->'''Lloyd:''' Your ''mother's'' the new princess in charge of ''my'' area!
* YouShouldHaveDiedInstead:
-->'''Dark Knight's Soldier:''' We've already lost Lieutenant Nielson.
-->'''Lieutenant Nielson:''' I am content. ''[dies]''
-->'''Lelouch:''' Why can't it ever be Rivalz!? WHY!?
