''[[http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/140422 The Real Legend]]'' hilariously parodies the adventures of Link in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime''.

----
!These are the following tropes:
* AbnormalLimbRotationRange: Subverted. Kaepora Gaebora appears during a shot of Death Mountain to brag that he can twist his head. Turns out, yes, he can, but not safely--he breaks his neck.
* AdaptationDistillation: Each of the temples is pruned down to their end boss and MiniBoss, and maybe one or two other rooms or challenges. The shadow Temple gets the most screentime, but even then, it just uses Dead Hand's room, the boat, and Bongo Bongo's boss chamber.
* AdaptationalJerkass: Darunia doesn't pull a YouShallNotPass on Volvagia while Link searches for the Megaton Hammer. He just shows up after Link already found it, shows him to the boss room, and kicks him down into it so that he won't have to deal with the problem himself, laughing as he exits.
* AdaptationalVillainy: The gorons held behind bars in the Fire Temple aren't innocent bystanders about to be killed as an example, but instead are implied to be violent criminals in prison that scare the crap out of Link while asking creepily to be let out.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Link's Fairy-In-A-Bottle, Mel, as believed by Navi. The sole reason for this comes from his being pink.
** Also this:
---> '''Navi:''' (''Taking with her an unconscious Link'') Mmh...Thanks.
---> '''Goron 2:''' Hey that's a nice piece of ass.
---> '''Goron 1:''' Yeah, that fairy is hot.
---> '''Goron 2:''' Fairy?
* AntiClimax: All of the temple bosses.
** Phantom Ganon gets killed in one shot... by ''Navi''.
** Volvagia enters battle in an awe-inspiring fashion backed by kickin' music, but the moment Link stops running in fear it gets distracted by Link farting and goes down in one hit.
** Morpha's battle is skipped over in a montage of all the crappy things that have to happen once Link gets past the awesome Dark Link fight.
** Averted with the fight against Bongo Bongo, in which Link actually uses his inner strength to activate the hover boots, defeat the boss and save Navi in the process
* ArtEvolution
** Episode 1 was rather rough and sketchy with a lot of motion tweens, with Episode 2 having a bit more polish. Episode 3 came over three years later and is much more advanced and ambitious with its animation, which is kept up in Episode 4.
** Episode 5 ditches the angular {{Animesque}} style of the previous episodes, in favor of a slightly rounder and softer one more reminiscent of Western animation. The background art, which had previously been drawn as vectors in Flash, is now digitally painted and sometimes incorporates 3D objects.
* ArtShift: Link's daydream of himself rescuing Saria is drawn in a more anime-like fashion. Saria still looks the same in the normal series art, though.
* BrickJoke
** Near the end of the first episode Navi comments that Link would just piss himself upon reaching the graveyard. A flashback near the beginning of the second reveals that he did exactly that.
** Kaepora Gaebora breaks his neck early in Episode 3. Episode 5 shows him with a neck brace, which he immediately breaks again when he turns to look in the direction of Link's screaming.
* ButtMonkey: Link. He's constantly getting whacked around by Navi, enemies, and Gorons. ''Especially'' Gorons.
* BurningWithAnger: Navi, after [[SheIsAllGrownUp Ruto]] gives Link a MarshmallowHell.
* ChangingClothesIsAFreeAction: At the end of part 3, Links changes to his blue clothes out of screen.
* CoolHorse: Averted; Link doesn't get Epona here. He thinks he does, but then Sheik points him to his ''actual'' mount: a tiny, round donkey. She stole it from Lon Lon Ranch, where they were using it as a kiddie ride.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Link, particularly displayed in Part 4 during his fight with Dark Link. Even Navi can't help but comment on how badass he was.
* CulturalCrossReference: In Part 3. Hard to understand unless you speak Spanish, and have seen ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xs-iUNC_XM this video]]''
-->'''Randomly Caged Goron #3:''' [''after Link exits the scene''] Me amarraron como puerco!!!
* DanceBattler: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. The Flare Dancer threatens to stop Link using dance, starting up Music/EarthWindAndFire's "Boogie Wonderland", but it's just a distraction so he can throw rocks.
* DaydreamSurprise: In Part 1. "Back to reality".[[note]]After being told by Navi that the Hyrule market can be dangerous and hearing a welcome of an employee, Link is shown with [[Film/TheMatrix black clothes and sunglasses to then starts to shoot everyone right and left]].[[/note]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Navi.
** No longer the case as of episode 5 where she was rewritten to be nicer and more like original Navi.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: Link not getting Saria or Princess Ruto... in a typical ButtMonkey fashion.
* DoggedNiceGuy[=/=]UnrequitedLove: Link for Saria.
* DoppelgangerSpin: The Poe in the Forest Temple challenges Link to find the real Poe among a bunch of fakes. The fakes are poor cardboard cutouts hanging by strings, which aren't tied very well and come loose one by one. [[IdiotHero Link still almost guesses wrong before Navi stops him.]]
* DumbBlonde: Link.
* EatDirtCheap: The gorons like in the game. At least one goron also [[TheStoner smokes]] the rocks.
* EatsBabies: The Zora King admits spending his days watching Series/{{House}} while eating the eggs of a chained female Zora.
* ExpositionFairy[=/=]FairyCompanion
* FailedASpotCheck. Navi asks a grumpy goron whether anything strange has happened in Goron City. Cue a long moment of a fiery glow and muffled screams and rumbling as Volvagia goes to town just offscreen, which the goron ''eventually'' remembers is happening.
* {{Fanservice}}: Adult Ruto in Part 4.
** Not to mention Navi. Dear Lord, she is ''stacked''.
* HeldGaze: Link and Sheik share one between each other. It would be HoYay if it wasn't for the ''obvious'' hints that Sheik ''IS'' Zelda.
* ImagineSpot: Link has one in Part 2 while imagining himself rescuing Saria. When Navi finally gets through to him, he realizes he's kissing his ass[[note]]The donkey, not his own butt.[[/note]] rather than Saria.
* ItemGet: OnceAnEpisode Link does the pose and jingle, to incredulous reactions from Navi.
* KidHero: And Link still looks like one even after the TimeSkip.
* LampshadeHanging: Navi has the tendency to do this.
-->'''Navi:''' [''when Link raises up his new item''] You have to do that every time?
-->'''Navi:''' [''when Link puts away his Iron Boots in his bag''] Wait, how... Where are you keeping all that stuff?
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: The first scene in Episode 5 has Navi exclaiming how it's good to be back as they enter Kakariko Village, [[ScheduleSlip after the series went on indefinite hiatus for over eight years]].
* LittleMissBadass: Navi, shown to be just as effective as Link at times -- if not more.
* TheLoad: Navi sure thinks of Link as this sometimes.
* MarshmallowHell: Link gets one of this by Ruto; not that he [[{{Nosebleed}} cares]]
* TheMaze: The Lost Woods as in the game. [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask There's supposed to be a monkey to lead you through]], but the monkey got lost.
%%* TheMentor: Sheik ''tries'' to be this.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Link himself. In a series where everyone is drawn reminiscent of their canon appearances, he and [[MirrorBoss Dark Link]] are SuperDeformed with giant round heads and stick limbs.
* NoodleIncident:
** The "last time" Link helped the Gorons.
*** Though we didn't learn about it, the last time Link helped them, he ended with a "Thanks bro" punch.
** Navi hints one in Part 4. "Are we high... ''[[OhNoNotAgain again?]]''"
* OpenSaysMe: For reasons known only to him, [[IdiotHero Link]] decides to kick open the doors to the Temple of Time. [[MadeOfPlasticine A pause and an x-ray shows him breaking his leg for it.]] It is then revealed that the door opens ''outward'', and he is visibly irked as he steps inside.
* PaperThinDisguise: Navi ''instantly'' recognizes Sheik as Zelda, and clearly doesn't believe "his" denials but drops the matter anyway.
%%* {{Parody}}
* PetTheDog: Navi complimenting Link after he defeats Volvagia in Part 3.
* PrecisionFStrike: Navi whenever Link has gone over-the-top with his stupidity.
* RealMenWearPink: A pink fairy hits on Navi and thinks Navi's rejection is because he's pink. He flies off crying.
* ShaggyDogStory: Part 4. Link traverses the infamous Water Temple, has an epic battle with Dark Link, has to face Morpha ''without'' healing after said battle with Dark Link, and he ends up getting nothing to show for it. In regards to ''Ocarina of Time'', it's sad but true.
-->'''Navi:''' Well, that sucked.
* [[HeKnowsTooMuch She Knows Too Much]]: Creator/ShigeruMiyamoto sure thinks Navi does when she questions [[{{Hammerspace}} just where the hell Link stores his stuff]], and authorizes Link to dispose of her at any given time.
* ShoutOut: The Matrix and Kill Bill. The Supermarket theme is from VideoGame/TheSims Buy Mode. Then there's the VideoGame/MetalGearSolid reference in Part 4.
* ShyFingerTwiddling: Sheik does this when he unsuccessfully tries to convince Navi that he's ''not Princess Zelda''. Or a ''girl''.
* SmokeOut: Sheik tries to exit every scene with a deku nut vanish like in the game. But "he" then visibly tiptoes or sprints away, and the only time "he" tries to ninja-vanish fumbles and falls from the ceiling.
* SourSupporter: Navi to Link.
* TemptingFate: Navi is really looking forward to enjoying the peace and quiet of Kakariko Village after the Water Temple. They arrive to find Bongo Bongo tearing the place apart.
* TookALevelInBadass: Link in Part 4 when he fights Dark Link and defeats him the standard way--using [[KillItWithFire Din's Fire]]. Come Part 5 and his fight with Bongo Bongo, Link actually defeats the boss in quite the spectacle, using the Hover Boots to skewer BB through the eye.
* TrespassingHero: Before heading up Death Mountain, Link stops to waltz in to a private household, smash their pottery, take the money inside, steal their dinner, and give the Cucco Lady's ass a good slap. Nobody in the building so much as blinks at this.
* {{Tsundere}}: Navi is a kind of one for Link. She'll give Link a bit of a hard time, but she'll compliment him when he does good.
* UnwantedHarem: Navi. Random fairies hit on her and the Gorons know she's hot.
* VillainsOutShopping: Ganondorf is shown hammered in the Milk Bar in Part 2.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: We don't see much of Ganondorf, but apparently he can come and go as he pleases in Lon Lon Ranch's Milk Bar and has his own licensed brand of breakfast cereal, "Ganonflakes", which are stocked in normal supermarkets.
* VocalDissonance: Link still has his same official voice clips from ''Ocarina''... only they're coming out of a bumbling idiot with a balloon head and noodle limbs.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: When Navi realizes what part of Jabu-Jabu they're currently standing in (though it's zoomed out so she looks like a ball of light... puking), and Foreman in the made-up episode of Series/{{House}} after House delivers his {{Squick}}-filled diagnosis.
* WardrobeMalfunction: The Ice Cavern scene ends when Sheik's {{Sarashi}} snaps and "his" considerable chest flops down.
