2	The first film, while hammy, shocking, and disturbing, was actually a quality horror film, with relatively low amounts of gore in comparison to most modern "horror" films, a non-supernatural premise, and didn't actually focus on the whole "feeding" that much. It was over the top at times, but still a more psychological horror than expected. The second film was our typical horror shitfest. Tons of gore, no sympathetic characters, a big focus on the feeding, and just as much sick shit as possible. The third one is supposed to go above and beyond that. The reason? Clearly, it's to kill the all-shock, no-[[MindScrew mindfuck]] horror. Let's be fair, most modern horror has more blood than an army of ''Franchise/EvilDead'' sets, with everything sickenly grimy and generally just gross. And that perfectly describes the second one. But the first? It's practically clean. Sure, there's the blood from the IV getting ripped out, and the blood from the detectives and the facial infection, but in comparison, that's not a lot (and actually, a rather realistic amount). It's as if the series is a miniature version of the evolution of horror. Low gore, high mindscrew followed by just over-the-top amounts of gore and no mental aspect other than "Die. All of these characters need to die. Fuck em all." The third one is Six's vision of the future of horror, if we don't shape the hell up.
3	* This makes a lot of sense considering the fact that the first film is a film within the second film. The first is a comparatively professional human centipede painstakingly crafted by a surgeon. The second is a totally plagiarized, butchered monstrosity stitched together and cranked way up to eleven by a mentally-challenged, incompetent, amateur fan of the original. The two films could be seen as a condemnation of the RunningTheAsylum into the ground state of the modern horror film industry. The original represents the old masters of horror, like Alfred Hitchcock, Wes Craven, John Carpenter, and Tobe Hooper. The sequel represents contemporary grossout {{Gorn}} TorturePorn creators like Rob Zombie, Leigh Whannell, and Eli Roth.

7	The guy in front represents the upper classes, who get all the food/money and who then excrete it down to the lower classes (the act of excretion represents trickle-down economics). The one in the middle is the middle class, who have to take it from the rich and then excrete what they can to the lower classes. The lower class is left dead of blood poisoning, representing the plight of the poor who would starve to death under the pure capitalist system. Heiter represents the capitalist government who sets up the whole situation, with the "SWALLOW IT BITCH" scene obviously alluding to Radio/GlennBeck, who tells his viewers every day to "swallow" what the rich give them. The death of Katsudo represents the fact that the middle class can't depend on the rich to keep trickling down wealth to them. Lindsay's situation at the end represents the eternal suffering of the middle class after everyone else is no longer able to help them.

12	A [[Creator/KarlMarx brilliant but insane German scientist]] dreams of a new mode of existence for humanity (Communism). So he forcibly captures free individuals to be unwillingly converted into a collectivist abomination, that is extremely painful and humiliating for everyone involved. The doctor is like the party leaders and leftist ideologies that praises the virtues of the system; [[{{Hypocrite}} however, he doesn't take part in it himself by eating normal food, and violently punishes the centipede when it tries to escape or resist]]. When the three members of the centipede were crying at night, Heiter complained about how he couldn't sleep because of all the noise they were making, [[LackOfEmpathy completely ignoring how they were acting like that because of the torture that he subjected them to]]. Just like how the leadership in totalitarian countries complain when political dissidents gain power and organize protest movements, while ignoring that [[NeverMyFault they exist in the first place in response to their failed (and completely hare-brained) attempts at social engineering]]. When Katsuro finally [[TheDogBitesBack gathered the strength and opportunity to fight back]], he suddenly came to see Heiter as a god, and himself as an AssholeVictim that deserves everything that was happening to him, similar to how many victims of the communist system and their children eventually came to accept the system and even develop Soviet nostalgia. Finally, when the entire system inevitably collapses, even if the remaining survivor managed to get rescued, her life will be ruined forever due to what the doctor did to her, just like how Cambodia is still suffering from the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge regime.
