[[WMG:The TMNT are ''Series/TheATeam'' of an alternate universe.]]
Each of the Turtles is an expy of a member of the A-Team.

Leonardo = Hannibal (the serious, no-nonsense leader).

Raphael = Baracus (the hot-headed muscle of the group).

Donatello = Murdock (the brains of the operation).

Michaelangelo = Face (the ladies' man). Also, Murdock and Michelangelo are both {{Cloud Cuckoolander}}s.

April O'Neil = (the chick).

[[WMG:The ''Franchise/KamenRider'' and ''TMNT'' multiverses are one and the same.]]
To reiterate: In ''WesternAnimation/TurtlesForever'', 2003 Shredder learns about the existence of the ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' multiverse and then attempts to erase all of it from reality. This has nothing to do with ''Kamen Rider'' at first glance, no?

Well, there's one single link to it all: ''Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation''. [[CanonDiscontinuity As much as Peter Laird hates it]], the reveal of the TMNT multiverse effectively allows it to still exist somewhere in that cosmos.

With that in mind, remember the ''Next Mutation'' crossover episode of ''Series/PowerRangersInSpace''? Now that we've linked ''TMNT'' to ''PR'', note that ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' had a three-part PoorlyDisguisedPilot for... ''Series/MaskedRider''. That show, while being [[{{Macekre}} a hackjob]], is nevertheless a ''Kamen Rider'' series, and so part of the multiverse etablished by ''Series/KamenRiderDecade''.

(And if you bring up the argument that ''Masked Rider'' became a ShowWithinAShow in ''Series/PowerRangersTimeForce'', there's still another backdoor: the Rangers' connection to ''Franchise/SuperSentai'', which leads to the canonical ''Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger'' crossover in ''Decade''...)
* Alternatively, the Turtles in ''Series/PowerRangersInSpace'' are that universe's version of the Turtles, not being connected in any way, they're just Mutant Turtles.
** But they still wouldn't have existed without the existence of Turtle-Prime in the first place, so...
*** Perhaps it's the multiversal equivalent of a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venn_diagram Venn diagram]], where two multiverses overlap and create a middle universe (i.e. the way Franchise/TheDCU and Franchise/{{Marvel|Universe}} multiverses work in regard to their ComicBook/AmalgamUniverse). Although thinking about it too much makes my head hurt a bit.
*** The multiverses each have something that works that way. DC has Hypertime and Marvel has Cross-Time.

[[WMG: The 80's AnimatedSeries of ''WesternAnimation/AlvinAndTheChipmunks'' takes place in the same continuity as ''WesternAnimation/{{Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles|1987}}''.]]
The Chipmunks and the Chipettes are mutated chipmunks. The last animal the boys touched before the mutagen took effect was the kindly songwriter David Seville, [[MythologyGag who had helped them off of the road he nearly hit them on. They followed him home, and the rest is history.]]
* The orphan Australian girl found the Chipettes after they were recently exposed to the mutagen.
** The mutagen might have come from the Australian branch of TCRI.

[[WMG: The events of ''Tales of the TMNT'' v.2 #58 caused the events of ''Turtles Forever'', or maybe vice-versa.]]
Issue #58 from the second volume of ''[[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesMirage Tales of the TMNT]]'' involves the fate of the Ninja Turtles Multiverse, much like ''Turtles Forever''. Perhaps the Mirage Universe Turtles' encounter with Galatouse somehow caused the rift in the time-space continuum that brought the 1987 Cartoon Universe's Turtles, Technodrome and villains to the 2003 Cartoon Universe in ''Turtles Forever''.

[[WMG: [[ComicBook/UsagiYojimbo Usagi]] will appear in the new cartoon]]
and became something like a [[MythologyGag tradition]] in the franchise.

[[WMG: Casey Jones is missing from the second film because certain events from the ''City at War'' arc in the comics actually happened here too]]
That is, Casey accidentally kills a teenage mugger and falls into a drunken spiral that damages his relationship with April before leaving New York and falling in love with a pregnant waitress named Gabrielle. Sadly neither Gabe nor her child survive the stressful birth and Casey returns to New York alone to try and rebuild his life. This also explains why he's mellowed out so much in the third film and while he an April don't appear to be dating, still have a rather flirty relationship.
* Though they got their relationship back on track by the time in ''TMNT'', where it's becoming more serious between them.

[[WMG: The Turtles (and some supporting characters) represent the SevenDeadlySins.]]

The giveaway are the colors they wear.

* Michelangelo being Orange, is Gluttony. His main shtick is his constant consumption of pizza, which extends even to other parts of the Multiverse as well. In the 80's cartoon, this is done to the extent of putting insane toppings that most would find repulsive on them (such as jellybeans and guacamole).
* Raphael is Red, and is obviously Anger. Raph is constantly referred to as the most anti-social Turtle of the group, and one that has to constantly find outlets to channel his rage.
* Donatello is Purple, and therefore Pride. Don takes pride in his vast knowledge of machines. Consider 'Turtles Forever', where his 80's counterpart explained something that worked in his universe (using a wrench as a hammer, building a mini-portal device) only to have his 2003 counterpart constantly dismiss it until he actually sees it for himself.
* Leonardo is Blue and is Sloth. This one is a bit dodgy to explain, but here goes. Did you ever notice that there are times when Leonardo would just leave the team to their own devices? That he feels that he's not worthy to lead the Turtles, and goes off on his own? That's his fear of constant commitment to ideals talking. Everybody looks up to him, and he's the most diligent Turtle, but it makes one wonder if he goes on these Sabbaticals just to get away from the responsibility of that burden.
* April is Yellow, and is Greed. But this only applies to the 80's show. April would do anything for a hot scoop, even to the point of holding her boss at ransom in an early season episode just to get a news crew. She'll even put herself in harm's way just to get an exclusive, and gets notably miffed if Vernon gets the drop on her stories. Though, to be honest, Vernon is more representative of this than her, but she has her moments.
* Irma is Light Blue and Lust. She constantly awaits the day when some handsome guy would sweep her off of her feet, and even ventured into a sewer when she thought one was there (who was actually Splinter, much to her dismay.) Irma has the makings of someone who'd tackle anything that moves, and then some.
* Shredder is Jealousy (but sadly, does not wear Green at all.) His origin story reeks of this, killing Hamato Yoshi and his lover for the latter spurning him.

[[WMG: Splinter is one of the rats of ''NIMH'']]
Or at least a descendant thereof. He was intelligent enough to learn martial arts and how to read even before being mutated, and had a much longer lifespan than a normal rat, during the years Yoshi kept him.
* Unlikely, since [=NiMH=] is based on Maryland, US, while Splinter came from Japan. Though there might be a [=NiMH=] branch near where Yoshi lived. It's also possible Splinter was taken by [=NiMH=] sometime after Yoshi and Shen was murdered. It would have to be in New York since Maryland is miles apart.
** In the movie rats were shown being gathered from an urban setting before being taken to NIMH. Perhaps it was New York, an easy place to find rats.

[[WMG: Krang is a [[Series/DoctorWho Dalek]].]]
He was a refugee from the Time War who ended up transporting himself to Dimension X, and then got himself banished to 1980's New York. He also prefers operating within a robot, like a Dalek.

[[WMG: The [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987 1987 cartoon]] and the [[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesAdventures Archie Comics series]] would have been nearly the same if it weren't for Armaggon.]]
As some of you may have noticed, before the Archie Comics series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures started doing its own material, the comic was a direct adaptation of the 1987 cartoon. In fact, the original three-issue miniseries was an adaptation of the first five episodes and the first four issues of the ongoing series were adaptations of the season two episodes "Return of the Shredder" and "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles". Aside from differences in coloring, character designs, and the omissions or modifications of some scenes and dialogue, the comic book adaptations were exactly the same as the episode.

As we know, in the cartoon, Baxter Stockman and the Shredder continued to find more fragments of the Eye of Zarnov (or Eye of Sarnath as it was called in the comic), eventually managing to reassemble it. Eventually, Baxter would be mutated into a fly by Krang and Shredder would continue to menace the Turtles with the assistance of Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang until he was replaced by Lord Dregg in the final two seasons.

In the Archie Comics series, however, Armaggon went back in time and intervened, causing Baxter and Shredder to not get any fragments of the Eye of Sarnath other than the one that shrinks objects. This also caused Baxter to never continue working for the Shredder, and as a result, he never became a fly-man. This also caused the other changes of the origins of the enemies and allies of the Turtles that managed to appear in both the comic and the cartoon, plus Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady being banished to other planets to leave Shredder as the central antagonist. Armaggon's interference with the past altered the timeline and kept the continuity of the Archie Comics series from being a complete copy of the Fred Wolf cartoon's continuity.

[[WMG: In the '87 cartoon, Shredder has a VillainousCrush on April and is trying ''really hard'' to conceal it]]
I can't be the only person who thinks this.
* Obviously. April has one hot bod.

[[WMG: Shredder made the Turtles drunk in ''Turtle Tunes'' and ''We Wish You a Turtle Christmas''.]]
It's pretty obvious that they were drunk, most notably is in the "On top of a pizza" song.

[[WMG: The reason for Leonardo’s training in South America before the 4th movie]]
There was a time in the comics where Leo actually trusted Karai , and thought she was reforming the Foot in the wake of Shredder’s death in the comic, but was ultimately betrayed when he learned her true intentions. I propose that a similar thing happened before the fourth movie, after Shredder’s death in the second. Leo fell for her lie’s, gets betrayed after leading his brothers astray, and he has a Heroic BSOD, which leads to him being sent away in order to get some distance and regain his confidence.

[[WMG: Super Shredder's Death in the 2nd movie was ''actually'' [[HoistByHisOwnPetard due to the Mutagen that created him]].]]
A lot of people are ticked off that Super Shredder was defeated so easily in the 2nd Live-Action Ninja Turtles Movie due to a dock falling on top of him, as opposed to his death in the first film. To make up for this, This troper believes that the REAL cause of his death was actually due to consuming the Mutagen to become Super Shredder in the first place.

It is shown in the 1st film that the Turtles and Splinter were created by the Ooze ''coating'' their bodies and slowly but progressively giving them their mutant forms. The same could be said for Tokka and Rahzar even though it is not seen directly, otherwise the Scientist that was forced to create them would've mentioned it. Also since he didn't bother to feed it to them (he just sticks a hose in there and lets the Mutagen do its work), it's all the more reason to believe they didn't consume the Mutagen either. However when the Turtles first see Super Shredder, they immediately assume that Shredder ''drank'' a vial of it (he was last seen threatening to coat a woman with said vial) as a desperation attempt to kill the turtles since maybe coating his body in mutagen would've took too long to go into effect.

The reason for Super Shredder's rampage rather that immediately going after the Turtles could imply that Super Shredder was at a Dementia-level of both insanity and pain at the same time. While his body may be indestructible from the wood falling on him, the Mutagen he consumed was completely destroying his innards until it most likely killed him.

* Or, as the fourth movie implies, ''[[NeverFoundTheBody he's not really dead]]''.

[[WMG: In the second movie, Casey Jones is wanted by the Foot Clan]]

Not only did he defeat and humiliate Tatsu in front of his students in the first film, he's also the one who threw the switch and supposedly murdered Shredder, which Tatsu is clearly overcome with vengeance at early in the second film. With neither Skill in Ninjitsu nor job tying him down, its pretty clear why supplementary material says he's "out of town" at the time.

[[WMG: Yoshi in ''III'' was Hamato Yoshi's ancestor.]]
If he had died from the fire or if Leo didn't save him in time, the timeline would have changed.

[[WMG: You become wacky and silly the longer you stay in the 1987 universe.]]
The reason Krang is acting comical and goofy is due to him being trapped in a cartoon world for long periods of time. When you get stuck in a toon world, you become as kooky and nonsensical as them.

* The [[RedSkyTakeWarning Red Sky]] seasons [[DarkerAndEdgier would like a word]].

[[WMG: April's apartment in the second movie is actually the Pennington's apartment.]]
The second movie probably doesn't take place more than a week or two after the first, considering it shouldn't take that long for the Foot to regroup at the junkyard, nor is it likely that Shredder spent all that long a time buried under garbage. While it's possible for April to find, get approved for, move into, and fully furnish a new apartment in Manhattan in that length of time, I think it's more likely that her apartment is actually the Pennington's apartment. We know from the scene at the news station that the news manager is a man named Phil and not Charles. So where is Charles? I believe Charles decided to take a sabbatical so that he and Danny can go on a long vacation and catch up on some father-son bonding. Perhaps they decide to reconnect with family living elsewhere, or go on a worldwide tour. Since April's apartment has burned down along with her antique store, they sublet their apartment to her while they are gone. Danny, feeling responsible for the destruction of April's original apartment, may even have insisted on it. Phil is simply an acting news manager while Charles is on sabbatical, which might explain his attitude with April; he's on a power trip. We even see that April has her own office, no doubt the last thing Charles did as news manager before leaving. He probably tried to get her a corner office but that was the best he could do.
