12[[WMG:Kirby is a part of 0...]]
13He got split off somehow, but lost his memories of who he used to be a part of. They also seem to be complete opposites, and Kirby splitting off could be the reason 0 is the way he is, lacking all positive emotions. Because Kirby has them. Perhaps they're even two sides of the same coin. [[http://embercoral.deviantart.com/art/Kirby-Hero-to-Zero-Eversion-Animation-330484170 Inspired by this.]]
14
15[[WMG:Building on the below theory, the sparkling stars didn't give Kirby his powers...]]
16But they helped Kirby regain them. Connecting KRBAY to the video games, the warp star gave Kirby his powers, but was then broke up into the pieces making the sparkling stars. after defeating Dedede, his powers returned, but weaker then normal, explaining why Kirby is more powerful in KRBAY than he is in the games.
17
18[[WMG:The Sparkling Stars from ''Kirby's Dream Land'' gave Kirby his powers]]
19Kirby couldn't copy anybody in his first adventure. The stars Kirby collects at the end of every level in that game granted him the ability to mimic his meals.
20
21[[WMG:Kirby is [[Film/TheThing1982 the Thing]]]]
22Seriously, he travels from planet to planet, ''assuming the traits of any creature he eats''. It was only a matter of time before he got to earth.
23
24[[WMG:Kirby is a Bizarro Eldritch Abomination]]
25Meaning he's a good [[Creator/HPLovecraft Lovecraftian monster.]] Kirby is all-consuming, omnipotent (doesn't Kirby always beat the boss that had defeated entire worlds?), but omni-benevolent. [[WhatMeasureIsANonCute Kirby appeals to our aesthetic sense in an innocent way]]. What does that sound like? Let's face it, Kirby is the [[EvilTwin good twin]] to Hastur.
26* Kirby is chaotic good. Consider Kirby's reaction to forgetting he ate his cake -- go beat up King Dedede. This is why Meta Knight opposes Kirby; he's lawful good and despises Kirby's chaotic nature.
27** If you look closely, a Waddle Dee took the cake. Waddle Dees are Dedede's minions. Technically, he DID take it.
28*** The fact that a Waddle Dee took it doesn't prove that it was on Dedede's orders. Not all of them work for him, and even if that one did, it might have taken the cake for itself. Regardless of who ate the cake, Kirby's reaction to its disappearance was a little extreme.
29** Dedede would be Mischevious Good; Meta Knight flips out at said mischief, while Kirby incorrectly perceives it as evil. Unfortunately, Meta Knight is a bit overzealous, as seen in his attempted coup of Dream Land.
30** Kirby's powers are rare in Dreamland, but not completely exclusive to him. Kirby just seems like an exceptional resident of Pop Star; the {{Eleventh Hour Super Power}}s coming to him in his time of need are usually why he beats the great big thing of evil every game.
31
32[[WMG:That cute pink puffball you think you see? That's your mind doing you a favor.]]
33[[http://www.halolz.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/kirby.jpg If you beheld Kirby's true form, you would spend the rest of your life in a state of catatonic euphoria.]]
34
35[[WMG:Kirby is a rejected form of Majin Buu.]]
36Both are pink and copy powers through eating.
37* [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1375234/1/Why_Kirby_is_Pink This]] fanfiction proposes a similar idea.
38* Consider that Buu gets smaller as he becomes more powerful. Kirby isn't a reject, he's a PERFECTED Majin Buu.
39
40[[WMG:Kirby is a Franchise/{{Digimon}}.]]
41In ''Kirby's Dream Land 3'', some levels have Kirby look-alikes called Batamon; we'll assume that's the name for Kirby's species. Now note that all Digimon have a name with the suffix "-mon". Kirby's enemy-eating ability, then, is an offshoot of the standard Digimon ability to grow stronger by absorbing the data of defeated opponents combined with the ability to change modes easily.
42* Works well with the 2010 series, Batamon could be a type of Digimon who developed independently of Earth and have no level. Kirby is forcing a Xros when he swallows enemies.
43
44[[WMG:Kirby is the light-powered counterpart of Dark Matter/Zero in pocket format]]
45Dark Matter symbolizes everything evil, planned, and unhappy. Kirby was created from happiness, love, peace, and cuteness. You could see him as light incarnate, while Dark Matter is darkness incarnate. Although Kirby is just a child and too cute for words, he is a good fighter and even has super powers; this is meant to show that TheForce of pure Goodness is beautiful ''and'' strong at the same time.
46
47Also, isn't it funny how he's always there when Dark Matter is doing something evil?
48
49Example: When Ripple Star was invaded, Ribbon ''coincidentally'' bumped into Kirby for no obvious reason. She could have landed on Rock star and ended up wandering the desert on her search for the shards forever; then Kirby would never have met her and would have kept the crystal shard, thinking it would have made a nice souvenir. But for some reason, Ribbon ''did'' meet him, the only one who can stop Dark Matter, and that happened though she came from another planet!
50
51Destiny intends for Kirby to balance out ''every single imbalance'' Dark Matter causes. He will always be there whenever evil is involved, whether he wants to or not.
52
53[[WMG:Kirby is Lavos.]]
54After years of eating, the horrific black hole in his stomach becomes an all-consuming force, corrupting Kirby's body and soul beyond recognition. After destroying and consuming Pop Star, he drifts through space consuming whatever he can find before landing on earth; this leaves Crono and friends to deal with him before he wakes up and eats everything.
55* It should be mentioned that in ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'' mythology, Lavos, in addition to ending the world... empowers dreams.
56* Look at Shiver Star's icon on the map. Remember what happened after Lavos destroyed the world?
57
58[[WMG:Kirby is an evil SOB.]]
59Think about it. He kills and eats the souls of innocent civilians if they happen to get in his way and commits genocidal rampages all the time just for some cake or something.
60* If you go far enough ahead, and then double back, the enemies are back where they were before, none the worse for wear. Sure, Kirby could use a bit of self-control, but he apparently doesn't ''kill'' his enemies; he just leaves them dazed and off-screen for a while.
61* Above point {{jossed}}. I just fired up ''Kirby 64'' -- the only game I can think of where the enemy isn't immediately turned into a star when inhaled -- to check. Inhaled a random Poppy Bro, walked off with him in Kirby's mouth, came back to see him re-spawned. The first one was still in Kirby's mouth, I even took it out and held it above his head. Definitely two different Poppy bros. They apparently do die, others just replace them really fast. Now, how exactly that happens would take a whole different WMG.
62** Double jossed. In Revenge of The King, during the battle with Bandanna Dee, you can eat him, just like any enemy. He still shows up to cheer on Dedede during the final boss fight. And he still shows up to help in Return to Dreamland. Nobody knows what happens when Kirby eats a person, but I doubt the Carry ability that Kirby had in 64 is indicative of the entire franchise.
63* It's shown in ''Kirby Super Star'' that most Dream Land creatures, even those identical to the usual enemy creatures he eats, do not attack Kirby, the ones that do are his enemies or working for them.
64
65[[WMG:Kirby is immune to Metroids.]]
66Proven in ''Kirby's Dream Land 3'', where Samus Aran herself cameos near the end of the particular stage.
67* She was only there because [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kaig6dYjM0o she's his mommy!]]
68* The Kirby in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'' doesn't share this immunity, but it's only an action figure.
69
70[[WMG:Kirby was created by the Chozo]]
71Though improbable by out-of-universe means, it makes quite a lot sense in-universe.
72* There is no WordOfGod for the origin of Kirby’s species. The closest is a ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros SSBB]]'' trophy that says that he’s a citizen of Dreamland. That says nothing of where he ''came'' from.
73* Samus appears in ''[=KDL3=]'', along with Metroids. This connects their universes. (In fact, Nintendo seems to love connecting its universes.)
74* The Chozo are not unknown for genetic experiments attempting to create an ultimate being (“Metroid“ means “Ultimate Warrior” in the Chozo language). He is still a bit overly destructive, and naïve enough to ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shZJYRWGbhE&feature=related crack Pop Star in half]]'' for the sake of a game.
75** To be fair, the other competitors are just as guilty of destruction in said game.
76* Furthermore, Kirby seems to be the ultimate being in his world. When Meta Knight summoned "the ultimate warrior", he got Galacta Knight. As far as battles have proved: Galacta Knight < Meta Knight < Kirby. Alternatively; Kirby himself is Galacta Knight. Other [=WMGs=] detail that. That nicely connects to the "Ultimate Warrior" motif.
77* This could also explain abilities like Sword, Yo-yo, Cupid, and Stone (when he becomes statues) -- because the Chozo are supposedly this all-knowing race, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that they could know of Link (Sword, maybe Bomb), Ness (Yo-yo), and Pit (possibly Cupid). Stone is particularly odd -- he even breaks the fourth wall with that one as of ''Return to Dreamland''. How could Kirby know of all those things? Does he get to choose what statue he becomes, or is it truly random? Either way, Darwin doesn't account for Kirby's spontaneously appearing Link hat.
78* Kirby is immune to Metroids. Which suck out ''[[LifeEnergy life force]]''. Does Kirby not have a life force?
79** Otherwise, perhaps he was created ''after'' the Metroids, and the Chozo had since discovered how to infuse that immunity within him.
80** The following quote found on a wiki, no idea what game it comes from: "The creature took on the host's… appearance, abilities, everything. It sucks everything dry.” (Shortened for relevance) …Sound kind of familiar? Perhaps the Chozo wanted to modify the general traits of the X Parasite to use for good, which they ultimately decided to dump at Pop Star for who knows why.
81* If this really is so, then Kirby [[NiceJobBreakingItHero helped with the extinction of a species]] much like his own (even if he did only kill 6). Remember -- the Metroids were created with good intentions. But they got a bad rep ([[HorrorHunger Not like their diet helped much. And Kirby's isn't much better.]]) and were annihilated by Samus. If Kirby were to get a similar reputation, then he better start avoiding Samus like the plague. Because he could be next.
82** Also note that places/planets that Samus visits are prone to being destroyed. So if Kirby gets out of control, then it could also be [[SayYourPrayers bye-bye Pop Star]].
83** Also note that it's entirely possible that Kirby is far more powerful than Samus. He'd still probably rather not be forced to kill her in self-defense, though...
84
85[[WMG:All of Kirby's species are about as strong as him, and can copy abilities too.]]
86The catch being that they are so unbelievably lazy that Kirby is a downright athlete in comparison. Sure, they're all capable of taking down that EldritchAbomination, but ItsUpToYou.
87* This suggests the Batamon from ''Kirby's Dreamland 3'' are not his species because they die in one hit.
88
89[[WMG:The origin of Kirby and Meta Knight.]]
90Kirby and Meta Knight come from a race sworn to protect the universe from that which should not be. Dark Matter was a recurring adversary of their race, but time and time again, it would be vanquished by the species' greatest warrior: Galacta Knight. Meta Knight, who was still a training soldier at the time, looked up to Galacta Knight and wanted to become a great swordsman just like him. As children, members of this species have the ability to absorb powers from foes. However, while training to become a soldier of the universe, they must settle on one power, or alternatively a combination of two. They start out with the skill's simple abilities, but they can advance their techniques above what the copy ability can provide for that power. So Meta Knight chose the sword ability mixed with the flight ability to be more like Galacta Knight. He advanced his moves to include some of his unique skills seen in the series.
91
92But then the unthinkable happened: Galacta Knight turned against his species and began to slaughter his own people. Meta Knight's training academy was attacked by the warrior, and everyone there was killed except Meta Knight, who hid. Feeling shame that he showed cowardice when he should have fought alongside his friends, he decided to wear a mask that would hide the face of a coward. He became increasingly cold and serious afterward, and even more dedicated to fighting. The elders of the world knew Galacta Knight was too powerful to be defeated, and had to seal him in another dimension. But their world was ravaged and uninhabitable, so they went their separate ways throughout the universe.
93
94However, an orphaned baby named Kirby was left there, until a falling star literally fell right next to him. He climbed onto it, not knowing what it was since he was still a baby, and it carried him though space until they landed on a planet called Popstar -- specifically, in the nation of Dreamland. He spent a year or two there living in the forest, befriending some of the animals. This is around the beginning of the series, and Kirby is still a small child, not able to speak. Kirby had witnessed the king of Dreamland, King Dedede, being cruel to the people of the land, and Kirby became a hero by stopping him from stealing all of the food in the kingdom. Kirby was praised by the land's people, and stories of him even reached out of Dreamland, and were heard by Meta Knight, now traveling through space in his ship, the Halberd, and continuing the spread of his species' training by finding lost souls and teaching them. These students of his were the Meta Knights. Meta Knight traveled to Dreamland, hoping to teach Kirby the ways of their people, which is why he's often seen testing Kirby's strength.
95* This would mean that when wishing to fight the strongest warrior in the galaxy, he knew it would be his former hero. Either he hoped to redeem him (DefeatEqualsFriendship), or to avenge his friends, family, and species in general. Take your pick.
96** This has become my personal headcanon!
97
98[[WMG:Kirby is [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Gluttony]], having been reborn into the Popstar Universe.]]
99Both Kirby and Gluttony can eat ''far'' more than should be possible, are minor-level [[EldritchAbomination Lovecraftian monstrosities]] and naive, happy, and relatively innocent individuals. After [[spoiler:Pride ate him]], Gluttony [[HeelFaceTurn realized the error of his ways]], and decided to be friends with other people. The reason why Gluttony is in another universe comes from being a failed Gate -- a fluke led to it working for once, and Gluttony immediately chose [[BigEater the universe with the most food.]] Kirby still retains his eternal hunger that Father gave him, hence why he keeps eating people. [[CannibalismSuperpower Gaining powers from eating people]] was a result of inheriting some of [[spoiler:Pride's power.]]
100
101[[WMG:Adeleine created Drawcia and Paintra.]]
102Paintra's pause screen descriptions say:
103''"There was once a painting said to depict a pair of sisters separated at birth. It slept, unnoticed, in a painter's studio for countless years before it came to life and vowed revenge on the world."''
104
105and
106
107''"Born from a forgotten painting made by a mysterious brush, Paintra DX has come to take her revenge. One must wonder if the painter who created her regrets giving her form."''
108The pair of sisters would be Paintra and Drawcia, based on their similar appearances. They also have similar powers to each other, and to Adeleine. Paintra came to life after Drawcia's death and vowed revenge on Kirby for killing her sister. The painter who "regrets giving her form" would just have to be Adeleine, unless Roller Scribbler did it, which is much less likely.
109* If this theory is correct, then Dark Rimura is the GreaterScopeVillain of ''VideoGame/KirbyCanvasCurse''. Who is Dark Rimura? The Dark Matter that possessed Adeleine in ''VideoGame/Kirby64TheCrystalShards''. I don't believe [[NiceGirl Adeleine]] would create actually ''wicked'' witches; plus, [[VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies Void]] references Drawcia. All this hints that Adeleine was possessed when she created Drawcia and Paintra.
110** And Zero is the Greatest-Scope Villain...
111
112[[WMG:Kirby and his species, along with Dark Matter, Zero/02, and the Master Crown are all byproducts of Void Termina's powers]].
113The Cult of Jam as described by Lord Hyness are the masters of a matter most dark, obviously a reference to Dark Matter, and they worship their dark lord Void Termina, an ancient god reborn throughout the ages in different forms. His core form and soul form bear moderate resemblance to Kirby, 02, and Dark Matter, and all of his sound effects are altered Kirby voice clips. One of his attacks is summoning an apparition/replica of the Master Crown that fires a storm of humongous lasers, and much like how his core form is colored pink like Kirby, Void Soul has a white coloration that harkens back to Kirby's original white color scheme from Kirby's Dream Land. Similarly, one of the hearts that flew out from the Jamba Heart was pink and landed inside Kirby (pink being Kirby's color obviously), while the other Jamba Heart pieces are all dark purple, similar to purple sometimes representing the Dark Matter species such as Dark Nebula from Kirby's Squeak Squad. In Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby can create Gooey by sacrificing some of his health, and Gooey is said to be made from the same substance that Dark Matter is made of. If Kirby is indeed related to Void Termina, then that not only would make sense for Kirby to harness Dark Matter substance to create gooey, it would also include other possible members such as Meta Knight and Galacta Knight; both Meta Knight and Galacta Knight sport wings (and Meta Knight even physically resembles Kirby), and with the two of them being much older than Kirby it's possible that he hasn't sprouted his wings yet (Cupid is notably the only copy ability that gives Kirby actual wings on his back). Void Termina also naturally has his own wings (albeit on his arms rather than on his back), and 02 has a similar white and red color scheme and wing shape. Another thing of note is the horns that Void Termina possesses, both of which are extremely similar in appearance to Galacta Knight's own horns; whether he actually has them sprouting from his head or has them as part of his mask is unknown, though Meta Knight possesses similar notches in his mask and Morpho Knight also possesses horns jutting from is mask. Lastly, jeweled eyes similar to Dark Nebula's eye shows up on various points on Void Termina's body as weak points, similar to how Zero's weak spot was his eye.
114
115[[WMG:Kirby was created from Mew's bubble.]]
116Notice how Mew's bubble as first seen in ''Anime/PokemonTheFirstMovie'' is pink, hollow, and bouncy. Thanks to some sort of intervention, that bubble of psychic energy shrank and became Kirby.
117
118[[WMG: 0, Dark Mind, and Void Termina are direct incarnations of Void, while Dark Matter/Gooey and Kirby's species are creations of Void.]]
119Soul Melter EX gives a bit more info on how Void functions and its role in the greater Kirby multiverse, with the Japanese version basically saying that Void is a creator god and the 'origin of all.' Void is also said to be omniversal, existing in all universes at once. Assuming there's only one direct incarnation of Void per universe at any given time, this leaves us with a few likely candidates for incarnations.
120* The Japanese Twitter confirms that Hyness found the Jamba Heart Void Termina was sealed inside in Another Dimension. ''Super Kirby Clash'' basically confirms that Galacta Knight was one of the four heroes who sealed it away, and recent games have been playing up his connection to Another Dimension, so it's likely Galacta is a native to AD. Void Termina also summons Master Crowns and in general seems to be connected to Halcandra and the ancients. Therefore, we can easily say that Another Dimension's Void is the Void Termina fought in the main campaign.
121* Astral Birth Void plays up the resemblences to 0 a lot. General color scheme, the Boss Butch Hyper Zone-style splash screen, the whole Dark Matter forms, the fact that 0 was just an orb when first fought like Void's core, it's all there. Considering what 'matters' Void is said to have made in the Japanese pause description, it's highly likely that 0 is the main Kirby universe incarnation of Void. Kirby beats it, it reincarnates to 0[[superscript:2]], and then it's beaten again.
122* Dark Mind is a bit flimsier in reasoning than the other two, but it has a lot of similarities to 0 and Astral Birth Void directly steals attacks from it. It's easy to assume that Dark Mind is the Mirror World incarnation of Void.
1230 is shown to be able to create Dark Matter in its fight in ''Dreamland 3'', so it's easy to just say 0, the Kirbyverse Void, created them. Kirby himself, though, is tougher to explain. Despite clear similarities between him and Void/Void Termina, Kirby is most definitely mortal. After all, he can be defeated, he can be cloned by Dedede, he's split into four by Dark Meta Knight once, he seems to be a species if one takes into account Meta Knight (and possibly Galacta Knight and Keeby if you wanna count the latter as canon), and so on. However, he seems to have a similar repitoire of moves to Gooey, the good version of Dark Matter. Star Dream also seems to have an issue scanning him just like it had issues cloning Dark Matter. Plus, if Meta Knight IS the same race as Kirby, then he has a suspiciouslly similar color to Gooey. Considering Void has created matters of "dark, dream, soul, and heart," I find it likely that Kirby and his species could possibly be "Dream Matter" or "Heart Matter" which is spawned off of some incarnation of Void, 0 or otherwise.
124
125[[WMG:Necrodeus was the creator of the Mirror World, it being designed to spread darkness across the universe.]]
126More of a baseless assumption since I only have the theory of him having made the Sun Stones in Triple Deluxe, where the Mirror World makes its return in. It is full of more villainous parallels of characters, which could be his way of having the world banish light; by making it a WorldOfJerkass. It's also probable that Necrodeus abandoned the realm to try and conquer other dimensions, while allowing the Mirror World's shred of Void; Dark Mind, to corrupt what's left.
127He seems a bit too cunning and clear-cut to be a Dark Matter, even with the eyeball in his mouth. Since he is a sorcerer looking to spread evil, a dimension plagued by darkness seems plausible for him to do.
128
129[[WMG:The Moon Warriors, inferred in Kirby Fighters 2, were TheUsualAdversaries for the Ancients, with Nightmare as their leader.]]
130They were seeking to spread terror and darkness across the universe under Nightmare's lead, and in the present day, all of them are long gone except for Nightmare himself, seeking to spread fear by himself.
131
132[[WMG:Nightmare pretended to be a parallel counterpart to himself in Super Kirby Clash.]]
133It just wouldn't make a lot of sense for a villain gone for decades to just have an alternate version appear after so long. Dark Mind already shares plenty in common with him (and Zero as well). And of course, there is also the fact that nightmares never truly die...
134
135[[/folder]]
136
137[[folder:Kirby's species]]
138[[WMG:Meta Knight, Kirby, and Galacta Knight are the same species, and they represent the stages of life for this species.]]
139This species, which I will call the Void for shorthand purposes. (Kirby is his/her/its name, not species). Each one of these are different stages in its life time. Kirby is a young child, his powers are unpredictable. When the Void grow up, they start to get comfortable with a form and master it, or become a jack-of-all-trades and keep their improvised ability. Meta Knight is a teenager/young adult who decided to take up the sword form. He is stronger than Kirby's SIword form. As the Void get older, their skills naturally improve. Galacta Knight represents being an older adult, and is considerably stronger than Meta Knight.\
140When the Void choose a form, they can lend their skills to an improvising Void. As seen in ''Kirby and the Amazing Mirror'', Kirby may be just be hitting puberty because he can borrow Meta Knight's skills.
141* The fact that the sword ability is one of Kirby's most iconic powerups really adds to this.
142* The more recent games have revealed that Galacta Knight's wings are part of his armor. It's also heavily suggested that Meta Knight's are literally transformed from his cape, as they only appear when his cape disappears and vice-versa. However, it still seems very likely that they're all the same species.
143* Adding onto this theory, Void Termina could be an Elder member of this species (His Japanese name is literally called End Nil). When the Void enter the final stage in their life cycle, they would shed their limbs and most of their tangibility to become true {{Eldritch Abomination}}s, no longer needing to inhale air or sprout wings to fly as they use their general intangibility as their main form of movement and have become powerful enough, both physically and mentally, to make physical illusions by themselves (Ex. Void Termina's "Body" is a highly powerful illusion that he uses to fight Kirby for most of the battle).
144
145
146[[WMG:Kirby's species can only copy powers at a young age]]
147As they age, they eventually settle down onto a single powerset based on common usage and personality, like daemons in ''Literature/HisDarkMaterials''. Meta Knight, for example, settled on the Sword power. Presumably, the advantage to settling like that is that you can keep the powers even after being hit very hard and such. Kirby can still copy because he's still a baby.
148* I've had this theory for forever. Glad to know someone else sees it.
149
150[[WMG:Kirby's species name is "poyo".]]
151
152In the anime, he's using PokemonSpeak. This explains why Meta Knight is able to understand his babbling.
153
154[[WMG:Kirby's species is somehow related to Anime/{{Potemayo}} and Guchuko's]]
155They all belong to the "cute spherical critters" phylum, but they have diverged because of the different evolutionary pressures of their respective universes.
156
157[[WMG:Found out Kirby's species at last!]]
158He's a [[http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/about/fieldwork/norfanz/psychrol2.htm blobfish]].
159* No, that's clearly a [[VideoGame/{{Mother}} Mr. Saturn]].
160
161[[WMG:All the Kirby and Meta Knight species can do naturally is inhale.]]
162And instead have to train themselves in mastering a certain ability. Meta Knight obviously chose Sword, while Kirby learned Copy somewhere between Dreamland and Adventure, and improved on it in Superstar. This explains why Kirby can't use the Sword ability as effectively as Meta Knight, even when he copies it. This may apply to other species, having the pathetic Waddle Dees and Waddle Doos carrying parasols, even if the latter can use Beam naturally. Also, when copying Copy itself, you gain an improved Copy.
163* This + Milky Way Wishes = at least two more theories. In said game, you can't copy anything and have to use Essences Deluxe. If you find one of those, you can use it whenever you want. '''My theories based on this are as follows:''' Any Kirby/Batamon/Enderman/Whatever can get an ability by pedestals or Essences Deluxe. Meta Knight uses a Sword Essence Deluxe and got it to Master. Master ability is what a mastered ability is called. MWW takes place when Kirby chose an ability. If I could remember them, there would be many more where that came from.
164
165[[WMG:Kirby's digestive system ends at his stomach.]]
166Everything he eats is converted into pure energy. This is why he always dances after every level. This is also the reason that a lollipop makes him so hyperactive.
167
168[[WMG:Kirby is inspired by Creator/HPLovecraft and the inspiration of ''VideoGame/GodOfWar'']]
169Related to above topics. If Nightmare, Dark Matter, and Dark Nebula are {{Eldritch Abomination}}s (and thus godly), and they all were defeated by Kirby, then Kirby was slaying beings worse than [[Myth/ClassicalMythology the Greek Pantheon]] before Kratos got doublecrossed. If Kirby killed forces of pure cosmic evil, gains abilities by absorbing matter, and uses stars as weapons, then that means he is the manifestation of the power of the Universe in pure, sentient form. Talk about [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation Alternate Series Interpretation]].
170* So Kirby WOULD kick Kratos's ass. And Kirby's a nicer guy, too.
171
172[[WMG:Kirby is the lost child of an evil race of aliens.]]
173To correspond to some of the "Kirby is evil" theories above. The evil aliens somehow lost Kirby on their travels through the depth of spaces, and he was raised by some Dreamlanders to be nice and cuddly. It will get interesting if his real parents ever show up and try to get him back on their side...
174* So... Kirby is a [[Manga/DragonBall Saiyan]]???
175
176[[WMG:Kirby is the child of Dedede.]]
177They share more or less the same abilities, and Dedede is unusually affectionate and defensive towards Kirby at times. Perhaps Kirbies are some larval form of whatever Dedede is?
178* I heard Dedede learned how to inhale because he was jealous of Kirby.
179* He might be half of Kirby's species.

181[[WMG:Kirby is set in a universe where penguins have larval forms]]
182If the above WMG is true, and given that Dedede is a penguin, then Kirby and other Batamon must be the larval form of the Kirby-verse's penguins.
183
184[[WMG:Kirby's species and Dark Matter both evolved from a distant common ancestor species]]
185As seen in Void Termina's Boss fights, Void shifts a lot between looking like Kirby and looking like Dark Matter. We also see that Gooey and Miracle Matter, whom are both confirmed to be part of Dark Matter to be seen wielding copy abilities similar to Kirby. Since Void is an ancient being old enough to have his own generation-spanning religion and both Gooey and Miracle Matter can use copy abilities like Kirby, it could imply an evolutionary link between the Kirbies and the Dark Matter. The ancient ancestors that birthed both species must've evolved in entirely separate biomes/planets that could warrant such a massive dissonance between both species' appearances and behavior. For instance, Kirby's species are cute looking and are kind and protective over their allies, while in contrast Dark Matter is scary, evil, and acts malicious towards anything that isn't part of them.
186* How both species usually get their powers/copy abilities are also vastly different. Kirby's species are predators that would hunt and eat creatures that would give them the copy abilities they need while Dark Matter are parasites that would latch onto their prey and take control of them and/or are mentally powerful enough to create physical apparitions based on their memories, both cases effectively bypassing the need to fully eat a creature to gain their abilities.
187** Not to mention that there are some overlap between the two species's powers (Gooey being able to eat organisms to gain their powers and Kirby making illusions of his friends out of his memories to defeat Void), though most of these cases are generally just leftover shared mutations of their ancestor species.
188
189
190[[WMG:Kirby is the strongest of his race]]
191
192Meta Knight, Galacta Knight, and some other characters are all members of Kirby's species, the 'Star Warriors', and Meta Knight and Galacta Knight are fully grown. However, while Galacta Knight is an exceptional individual of the race (most are not very powerful) and Meta Knight is less powerful, but more skilled member. Like many fictional races, the Star Warriors have 'power levels', and Meta/Galacta are near the top. However, while Kirby is near in power to them, he is only a baby (explaining his simplistic personality), who will most likely remain as such for thousands of years, until he matures into a proper star warrior like Meta Knight. As he grows, his mental capacity and ability to speak will reach that of Meta Knight, eventually surpassing them both. However, since he already has comparable abilities to them, he will be much more powerful in his adult form than any other. This potential form is why Meta Knight watches over him; out of both fear and admiration, making sure he does not turn out to be evil. In a sense, he's the mentor to Kirby.
193
194The ability to power copy is possessed by all the Star Warriors, but, for most, it's a weak ability that hardly makes them much more powerful than before, so they avoid using it. Kirby, being as powerful as he is/will be, has the ability to perfectly copy the ability and use it to the maximum. All the Star Warriors have the same 'pocket dimension' as where their swallowed food goes, but since Kirby is practically the only one who uses it anymore, it's pretty much his alone.

199[[WMG:All pink kirbies are special.]]
200
201And with "kirbies", I'm referring to the species in general. There is something going on with Kirby and Meta Knight's species similar to the purple dragons in ''Franchise/SpyroTheDragon''; however, instead of purple, the favored color is pink in this case. Pink puffballs are extremely uncommon and unlikely to come about, but when they DO pop up, they're the stuff of legends. This explains why of all the available colors for Kirby in multiplayer games, the pink one is always the hero, and how there's no other pink recurring characters except for Galacta Knight, who is also an example; his powers were so great he eventually had to be locked away by NOVA.
202
203[[WMG:All adult members of Kirby's species are required to use the mask.]]
204Tying up all other WMG on this page.
205Kirby species can only use copy power when they are young. Anything they eat are converted into pure energy and several certain foods (i.e. enemies) are converted into fighting abilities. That's it, until Kirby gets hit and loses the power or Kirby throws away that power as a star. So, Kirby's digestion system ends in his stomach. It stands that the reason he eats a lot is to ensure his body is safe if he gets hit (he is just going to lose an ability instead of dying, plus the ability helps him fighting). It's the same as Sonic is keeping the rings...
206
207As Kirby gets older, though, he can only keep a certain fighting ability. By this stage, even when he's hit, he's not going to lose any power, as it is permanent. Thus, there's no reason for him to suck enemies at all as he can't absorb their powers. FridgeHorror settled that because he can't lose any power over being hit, it probably also means that anything Kirby eats is now fully absorbed without a way to return. Older members of Kirby's species (speculated to be Meta Knight and Galactic Knight) are using masks, not only to protect their bodies, but also to stop themselves from eating anything they may come across and destroying everything. They are probably not required to eat, anyway.
208
209[[WMG:Kirby is a [[VideoGame/MonsterHunter Deviljho]].]]
210The Deviljho needs to eat constantly due to its extremely high body heat and metabolism (explaining his huge appetite) and is powerful enough to hunt nearby species to extinction. It enters a rage state if it goes too long without food, hence why Kirby went on a rampage just to get his cake in ''Squeak Squad''. Need I say more?
211* Never heard of any pink and fluffy Deviljhos, though.
212** It's not the craziest idea we've seen.
213
214[[WMG:Kirby's species lay eggs that are launched off to other worlds and adapt in terms of internal biology and psychology to their surroundings.]]
215While Kirby and Meta Knight are clearly the same species, their mannerisms are completely different, and their flight powers work differently. This is actually because of the ability of Kirby's species to adapt to have similarities to the native lifeforms, and Meta Knight's egg landed on a completely different planet. While Kirby picked up how most life in Dreamland is friendly and food-loving, Meta Knight's homeland was probably filled with total edgelords, and Meta Knight acted similarly. They almost universally are good with technology -- Meta Knight's ship and Kirby's being able to slap together the Robobot Armor -- and can fly, although in different ways depending on their environment. They also might be a relative of [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Eevee]] by this theory's logic.
216
217[[WMG:Kirby's species starts able to Copy abilities before settling on a single ability when they grow up]]
218Inspired by the daemons of ''Literature/HisDarkMaterials''. Kirby is a baby who starts being able to copy multiple abilities and switch between them but as they grow up, they eventually get stuck with a single ability like Meta Knight.
219
220[[WMG:Kirby's species is descended from [[VideoGame/MetroidFusion X Parasite]].]]
221An alternative to the Chozo origin story suggested above. We know the X's hallmark ability is to emerge hostile replicas of consumed prey. We also know the X aren't malicious; they're understood as "evil" because they pose such a significant threat to the cosmos, but in reality, they're mindless, and all they want is to survive, like any other organism. We also know they're a very simple kind of organism, plausibly a basal animal within their ecosystem. If this is the case, it's not out of the question that the X may have colonized Popstar or some other planet, largely settled there when it proved sufficient to their needs, and adapted into higher life forms over time, which, though larger and more complex, retained certain facets of their ancestor's DNA, notably the relatively amorphous shape and the unique digestive ability to replicate certain features of prey. Since the X were only ever extremely dangerous, never malicious per se, it makes sense to consider the possibility that an intelligence that evolved from them could be heroic and pure of heart.
222
223[[WMG:Kirby and the Knights are the four horseman of the apocalypse.]]
224Morphoknight is Death. Pretty straightforward since the text and presentation of this Knight is center around being a sort of death analog.
225
226Galacta Knight is War. Only wants to fight, doesn't care who, what, when, or why.
227
228Meta-Knight is Conquest. He wants to fight but no for fighting sake. He wants to defeat foes and strong foes at that. He helps Kirby simply because he is trying to cultivate a stronger and stronger foe for him to battle.
229
230Kirby is Famine. Kirby is hunger incarnate. If corrupted Kirby could easily cause famines with his unending appetite.

233[[folder:Meta Knight theories]]
234
235[[WMG:Meta Knight is a mutant Kirby]]
236
237Meta Knight was originally pink and fluffy with a copy ability just like Kirby. During a showdown with Dark Matter, he was trapped in a blob of the stuff for an extended period of time, tinting his skin blue and stripping him of his copy ability. He wears a mask because he's ashamed of being dark blue. This theory was first put forward by Webcomic/BrawlInTheFamily in the [[CerebusSyndrome Cocoon Academy arc]].
238
239[[WMG:Meta Knight is Kirby's father]]
240Think about it! He shares a lot of similarities with Kirby, and he's always acting as a StealthMentor to him. Couldn't you just see Hal Labs playing the LukeIAmYourFather trope straight?
241* I'm more convinced that he's Kirby's [[CainAndAbel big brother]].
242
243[[WMG:Meta Origin]]
244In an alternate timeline, the Star Rod was broken during the fight with Nightmare, in such a way as to not produce easily reassembled pieces as before. In a last-ditch effort to save Dreamland, Kirby used all of his strength to inhale Nightmare, and collapsed from the effort. He awoke, the world apparently saved, as if Nightmare had never been released from the Fountain of Dreams. Kirby was slightly groggy, but snapped awake when he heard his own voice. The effort of sucking in Nightmare had made his voice much deeper. He tried inhaling enough air to fly, but found that it caused him too much pain to suck in enough to even kill a Waddle Dee. Flight wasn't much of a problem. Nightmare Kirby's cloak could form wings. But exhalation was his primary method of attack. He couldn't use his Copy Abilities again without freeing Nightmare. Feeling that the Star Rod was permanently lost, he used what was left of it to forge himself a sword, and a mask for which he could cover his shame. He knew that if he ever showed his face again, he would be blamed for having destroyed the Star Rod. But then he noticed what seemed to be himself from just a few hours ago. Possibly having been driven insane from what had happened to him, Kirby decided that this impostor had to be dealt with. He conjured minions using his new powers, and sent them to fight with his doppleganger. He would encounter his doppleganger many times while he learned how to use his sword. By the time he encountered his doppleganger for the last time, he was a Master Swordsman, and such a master in fact, that he felt it would be dishonorable to fight even this despicable clone unless the clone were given a sword to fight with. It was after he was defeated and had his identity (sort of) revealed, that he realized the truth. The battle with Nightmare had caused him to travel back in time, and he had inadvertently become the monster that pestered him throughout his Adventure.
245* But if Meta Knight was there in the timeline where Nightmare is inhaled, how is he created? He can't be in both timelines.
246** StableTimeLoop, of course.
247
248[[WMG:Meta Knight has the same powers as Kirby]]
249The mask? That's just one of those hats you get with a copy ability. Many copy abilities give you physical weapons, so it's not impossible that Meta Knight could have got his sword (or maybe even his cloakwings) through consuming something with them. Meta Knight is never seen without that power because he can't find any better ones. His sword was the most powerful copy ability in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, after all.
250
251[[WMG:Meta Knight sealed Dark Nebula in that chest long before ''[[VideoGame/KirbySqueakSquad Squeak Squad]]''.]]
252Early in Meta Knight's career, he encountered a rouge piece of Dark Matter. This was before he had [[CoolSword Galaxia]], so he was only able to seal it inside a particularly large treasure chest aboard the Halberd. A bit before ''VideoGame/KirbysAdventure'', King Dedede managed to swipe away some loot from the ship, including the one with Dark Nebula.
253
254[[WMG:Meta Knight is Kirby from a dystopian future.]]
255Not too far into the future, Nightmare and Dark Matter join forces and take over Dreamland, capturing all its citizens and turning them into dark-matter slaves for eternity. Kirby's transformation, however, is incomplete, and he turns into what we know as Meta Knight, growing wings but losing the power of inhaling. He tries to battle Dark Matter over and over, but without success and barely managing to survive every single time (and that's when he honed his sword skill, since there was nothing else to copy). In a last attempt, he finds a Nova (the [[http://kirby.wikia.com/wiki/Nova Kirby Wiki]] explains how Milkyway Wishes Nova might be one of many) that can transport him to the past to change his present. He grabs a mask and some equipment to avoid having his identity discovered by his past self (explaining why he's such in a rush every time his mask breaks), and rushes on.
256
257Back in the past, in Kirby's Adventure, he works with Dedede to stop Kirby from reaching the Star Rod and freeing Nightmare, yet they fail. In Revenge of Meta Knight, he tries to colonize Dreamland in order to be able to prepare its citizens for the storm yet to come, but fails again. Eventually, Meta Knight gives up on confronting Kirby, and starts working at his side so they can stop the upcoming menace together.
258
259[[WMG:Meta Knight will become Galacta Knight]]
260
261Meta Knight asked Nova to fight the greatest warrior of all TIME, and Star Dream said they were getting it through time and space. Thus, Galacta could be from the future, and since they were beaten by Meta, this might mean that Galacta is just Meta's strongest form, but took pity on their younger self by using a predictable pattern and not healing. If Meta is a matured member of the Kirby species, they might be a teenage "goth" Kirby, with a dark color and an only partially matured ability. However, as they get older than that, they may return to pink and the copy ability might get strong enough to shoot giant lasers and cut through dimensions.
262
263[[WMG:Meta Knight's attack on Dreamland was staged in order to train Kirby]]
264
265Meta Knight is pretty OOC in Revenge of Meta Knight, wanting to take over Dreamland. However, previously, in Kirby's Adventure, he was training Kirby to fight Nightmare later on. He even hands Kirby a sword before their battle, something he doesn't do when he's fighting seriously (compare this to ''Squeak Squad''). Kirby just turned out to be too potent and ended up destroying the entire Halberd, something Meta Knight didn't anticipate. This made him proud and led him to the conclusion that Kirby didn't need any more training, which is why he never fought to train him again afterwards. He then spent the next couple of games (the Dark Matter-trilogy) fixing the Halberd down at the bottom of the Secret Sea. After that, his new mission is to become stronger himself, as seen in Meta Knightmare Ultra, as well as helping to keep peace in Dreamland.
266
267[[WMG:Dark Meta Knight isn't just a copy of Meta Knight's dark side; he IS Meta Knight's dark side manifest into a physical form.]]
268
269When Dark Meta Knight was created, Meta Knight's more antagonistic traits were removed from him and manifest into Dark Meta Knight, thus essentially splitting Meta Knight into two characters; the purely heroic Meta Knight and the purely villainous Dark Meta Knight.
270
271[[WMG:Meta Knight still has Kirby's inhalation powers… and resents them.]]
272
273He has used [[VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe Hypernova]] before, and he has seen just how many innocent people died to that one move. With that in mind, he has gone out of his way to ensure that he will never feel a need to inhale again. He will no longer steal the powers of enemies, so he brings along a weapon of his own. He can't naturally fly without inhaling, so he invests in CapeWings instead. He is so paranoid, he will not even let anyone be in the vicinity of his mouth, which is why he wears a mask and why he flees immediately whenever it breaks.
274
275[[WMG:How Meta Knight got the Halberd]]
276How is it that Meta Knight was able to afford a massive flying battleship on a planet like Popstar, which is often considered to be a sleeply little backwater world in the greater scheme of the galactic economy? While it has a Star Drive reactor that basically uses the same MagiTech as the rest of the Kirby world, thus not requiring regular refueling, it still had to be commissioned, constructed, and crewed.
277
278Meta Knight, being the forward thinking analytical type, likely saw the opportunity to invest in cryptocurrency early on and set up a small far using a small supercomputer that he purchased with the stipend he was given when assigned to Popstar as its resident Star Warrior. He created his own fork that he called Metakoin, promising that it would be more secure and stable than other brands of crypto by adding features that are still being requested but backburnered for Bitcoin and Etherium.
279
280Once he had enough investors and miners, he used the passive income from transaction fees to save up enough to begin construction, likely through private contracting overseen and directed by Meta Knight and his followers. Being semi-regulated makes Metakoin an actual long-term viable digital currency, especially due to Popstar seeming to lack any kind of centralized commerce authority to begin with. This would allow his passive income to likewise afford to pay his crewmen directly rather than through barter like Dedede.

283
284[[folder:Zero[=/=]02]]
285[[WMG:Gooey is Zero.]]
286In ''[=KDL2=]'': Gooey appears for the first time in any Kirby game. We know he's a "good" blob of Dark Matter.
287* My guess is that Zero had copied his consciousness, then placed it within a blob of DM, to possess Kirby the same way DM possessed other powerful Popstar inhabitants. Kirby was just too powerful, and (2nd) Zero became Gooey as a result.
288* By ''[=KDL3=]'': Gooey helps Kirby defeat Zero, knowing that he would essentially kill himself, because he is Kirby's friend.
289* But then, ''[=K64CS=]'': Zero-Two appears, without his positive emotions… because Kirby killed him the first time — with Zero's own help!
290
291That's why Gooey hasn't appeared in subsequent games.
292
293[[WMG:Gooey is Zero-Two.]]
294In the final battle of Crystal Shards, you see Zero-Two make a (for lack of a better word…) derpish face, and then the battle starts. That face looks an awful lot like the expression Gooey always had, and we never see him in the main game. So, something must of happened in between the two games. He, after some form of corruption, transformed into what we know as Zero Two. That is why he does not appear in 64. (The animal friends just didn't want to leave Pop Star.) The face Zero-Two makes is him trying to feel positive emotions again and to say hello (or… goodbye) before his mind is lost and they fight. This ends up making the final battle in ''Crystal Shards'' essentially being an IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight where Kirby tries to bring Gooey back to his senses by reminding him of happiness by purifying him with the Crystal Shards, only for the blue blob to decide that RedemptionEqualsDeath, exploding in a fireball of raw positive energy to kill the remaining Dark Matter while [[DyingAsYourself Dying As Himself]].
295
296[[WMG:Dark Matter is the remains of Nightmare, and he's been reformed more times than we'd think]]
297
298After Nightmare was defeated, he dissolved into Dark Matter plotting to take revenge on the citizens of Popstar. He eventually returns as the Dark Matter Blade and then his eye form.\
299To take things further, after being defeated once more, he reforms as Zero, now with the ability to summon more Dark Matter. The part of Zero, that is the little red eye then later reforms as Miracle Matter, having studied Kirby's Copy Ability excessively, while the big white part becomes Zero-Two, as evidenced by the band aid on his head.\
300Now this is pure speculation, but the remains of Miracle Matter and Zero-Two were sealed inside a certain chest and a crown, respectively. This chest was probably given to Dedede by the fairies of Ripple Star for him to guard only to be stolen by the Squeaks and later re-emerge as Dark Nebula. Dark Nebula is a form of Miracle Matter (explaining it's ability to use fire, ice and electricity) who in turn was formed by the original Zero's red eye (which is also visible in Dark Nebula).\
301Zero-Two, being a more powerful entity, was entrusted to the guardian Landia. Since his power was so big however, he managed to influence a certain being that came a little too close to Landia's volcano and managed to find a certain Starcutter. Magolor Soul also sports the same smile as Zero-Two before his battle, and also has an eye inside. This is also why Magolor doesn't die after the battle.\
302Whether or not Zero-Two's influence is responsible for the decaying of Halcandra itself is up for debate. It might also have been Haltmann harvesting all of the planet's resources until none were left.
303
304Bonus points to this for making Dark Mind both Nightmare and Dark Matter's Mirror World counterpart at the same time, even "decaying" in the same way as Nightmare, starting out as a sorcerer-like being and then becoming a giant eyeball.
305
306[[WMG:02 is called that for a reason.]]
307It isn't a zero, it's an O. O2 stands for oxygen, which is what Kirby sucks in whenever there are no enemies. Therefore, O2 is more related to Kirby than one might think.
308* Well, it's more of around 78% nitrogen...
309
310[[WMG:In future Kirby installments, Zero's invasion never happened.]]
311In ''Kirby's Dreamland 3'', the huge Dark Matter that Zero used to invade Pop Star broke the rings that circled it. After Zero is defeated, three rays of light (red, blue, and green) become the new rings for Pop Star. We've never seen these three rings ever again. Therefore, in every future Kirby game where Pop Star has two rings, Zero's invasion hasn't happened, yet.
312
313[[WMG:Zero's motives aren't the same as Dark Matter's.]]
314The Japanese player's guide for ''Kirby's Dream Land 2'' states that the Dark Matter from that game targeted Pop Star because it grew jealous of Dream Land's lifestyle and it was lonely due to the fact no one wanted to be its friend yet it says nothing about Zero's motives and since Gooey is a form of Dark Matter it's possible that the Dark Matter that attacked Dreamland isn't under Zero's control.
315
316[[WMG:Zero is Nightmare after having absorbed a large amount of Dark Matter.]]
317Have you noticed that Nightmare's pair of shades have a single black-chromed lens which always prevents us from telling how many eyes his face has? What if there's only on eye under those shades and it's a red eye specifically the eye of Zero? What if Nightmare at some point absorbed a large amount of Dark Matter and became Zero?
318
319[[WMG:Zero is a [[{{Webcomic/Homestuck}} cherub.]]]]
320Zero's motive for raising a ruckus is apparently that he's jealous of the people of Dream Land / Pop Star because they can feel positive emotions, whereas he can only feel negative emotions; cherubim are only capable of forming caliginous relationships (i.e. romantic relationships based on hate instead of love), so that fits the bill. They also like to hang out in black holes, as he does in ''Kirby 64'' (he spends most of the game covertly reigning over Ripple Star, the planet closest to the black hole, Dark Star, at the center of the Kirby "galaxy"), and when he morphs into 0^2, he's first briefly seen as a cutesy angel figure, complete with white feathery wings and a halo -- a literal cherub. That may not actually be his true form, though, but a simpler depiction that's easier for Ribbon and Kirby to understand.
321
322[[WMG:Zero Cannot truly be killed.]]
323Zero already fully revived itself once, by becoming 02, and recent Kirby games have demonstrated a noticeable pattern. The final bosses always showcase similar abilities, each one adding more to the overall arsenal. From Marx, to Dark Mind, Drawcia, Magalor, and Sectonia, with the latter utilizing abilities from all prior bosses in her soul form. Magalor very clearly had Zero's eye in his core, and was dripping a dark substance. Dark mind was the mirror world counterpart to Zero. Every Soul boss can essentially be connected back to Zero.
324
325WordOfGod states that Kracko and Zero are similar entities. Krako can revive himself from any cloud in existence. Dark matter is MadeOfEvil. Thus it is evident that every time someone with sufficient darkness in their heart comes to Pop Star, Zero Starts to reform within their very SOUL.
326
327Star Dream is a very interesting example of this, as its initial form looks like a mechanical 02, and its fight starts off the exact same way. Haltmann had a sample of inert mater that the star dream created a clone from, thus there's a clear vector for infection. Star dream is essentially a fusion of Zero and NOVA.
328* A lot of that is speculation (Where was it stated that Zero and Kracko were similar entities?). That said [[spoiler:Assuming Void Termina is Zero (and it's hinted very much that it is), this may very well be confirmed.]]
329
330[[WMG:Zero is {{Satan}}.]]
331Although the games never clarify exactly what Zero is, some internal evidence suggests that it is the Satan of the ''VideoGame/{{Kirby}}'' universe. Zero Two has white wings and a halo, indicating that the creature is a fallen angel. Zero's minions, the Dark Matter, possess people and compel them to do evil, as demons do in the Bible. Finally, Zero's motivations for shrouding planets in darkness are its own constant misery and inability to feel positive emotions, the same as Satan in ''Literature/ParadiseLost''. (This interpretation may mean that [[spoiler:the true final battle of ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamLand3'', wherein Kirby defeats Zero by overwhelming it with a weapon embodying positivity]], has Christian undertones to it, which is otherwise unusual for the franchise.)

333[[/folder]]
334
335[[folder:Plot[=/=]Setting]]
336
337[[WMG:Kirby's universe is an alternate reality version of the DC Comics Universe.]]
338Kirby is Superman. Meta Knight is Batman. King Dedede is Lex Luthor.
339
340[[WMG:In "Revenge of Meta Knight," Meta Knight was trying to enslave the inhabitants of Dreamland.]]
341Outside of destroying Kirby, Meta Knight's only stated goal during the game was to "put an end to (Pop Star's) lazy lifestyle." He was planning to do so by keeping everybody as his personal slaves. This is further evidenced by the fact that he had already trapped dozens of Wheelies and was forcing them to power his ship.
342
343[[WMG:Dedede stays in power mainly because he promotes the Dreamlanders' lazy lifestyle.]]
344
345Dedede seems to be a pretty lazy leader. Aside from the fact that he considers it his right to take whatever he wants from the people, he's generally easygoing enough to let them govern themselves. While not perfect by any means, he is better than many imaginable alternatives and his sheer strength helps keep all but the strongest unsavory aspiring rulers out of power, so the people are happy to tolerate his mischief up to a point — better a lazy penguin than a tyrannical wasp, a corrupt corporate executive, or an evil witch. As far as the Dreamlanders are concerned, he is the least of all possible evils.
346
347The one time that Dedede went too far — stealing all the food in Dream Land — Kirby scattered his army, broke into his castle, beat him up, and took the food back — but by the next game, he was still King. The fact that nobody bothered to depose him when he was at his weakest suggests that the people are more or less okay with him as their ruler.
348
349In ''Revenge of the Meta Knight'', Meta Knight grows disgusted working as a subordinate for such a pathetic joke of a "king" and decides that Dream Land would be better off with a proper ruler — he probably wouldn't even be such a bad one, after all, his Knights seem quite loyal and fond of him. But Kirby, like the rest of the Dreamlanders, has grown so accustomed to the laid-back lifestyle under Dedede that he attacks the Halberd to keep the fat penguin in power.
350
351[[WMG:Dream Land is Pop Star's equivalent of a war-torn third-world country]]
352Just think about it. You've got an illegitimate monarchy ruled by King Dedede. Kirby is a biological weapon running rampant, killing people for their food or ''eating them whole''. Meta Knight's formed his own cadre of questionably-noble military separatists and has a flying warship capable of subjugating entire provinces by itself. The very trees and animals are sapient and hostile to all other forms of life. There's at least a half-dozen instances where nightmarish monsters and space aliens have invaded. Civilians are forced to defend their homes with whatever they have available: swords, mallets, magic wands, improvised explosives, yo-yos, umbrellas... It's a sugar-frosted ''warzone''. The rest of the planet must think Dream Land is like Mordor.
353* As opposed to [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros a pair of perpetually warring kingdoms]], [[Franchise/{{Metroid}} a galaxy full of monsters and pirates]] ([[VideoGame/StarFox or warlords, evil aliens, and demented science monkeys]]), [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda a land ritualistically invaded by an evil tyrant]]... nah, it's still worse. Pretty much defines CrapsaccharineWorld then.
354
355[[WMG:The Squeaks were suicidal.]]
356[[SuicideByCop Suicide by Kirby.]] They should have known what would happen if they screwed with Kirby when it comes to food. Everyone in Dream Land knows, after ''Kirby's Dreamland''. Fortunately, Kirby wasn't ''quite'' blind enough with rage to commit ''murder.''
357
358[[WMG:In ''Squeak Squad'', it's not because of the cake.]]
359But because it is stolen. Kirby had experienced food being stolen before, thus he jumped to the conclusion that Dedede did it, and probably there is more food being stolen, too.
360
361Kirby is not much of a hero; he is only doing things that involved him, like a selfish kid. In the first game, it's also food involved, but who knows if he originally just wanted to retrieve his own and ended up returning all the food? Then in the second game, he's probably only bothering to retrieve all the Star Rod pieces because he can't have a nice sleep. That's why he refused to listen to Dedede, he's cranky and sleepy. In the Dreamland series, it's simply because Dark Matter is evil and threatening Popstar, thus bothering him. In Mass Attack, Canvas Curse, and Epic Yarn, the villains themselves decide to screw with Kirby, thus causing him to go after them.
362
363So in short Kirby is not much of a hero, as he is simply after those villains because they annoy him.
364
365It's not necessary to be a cake; had it been anything else stolen from him, he'd react the same.
366* That doesn't mean he doesn't like to help, like in ''64'' or ''[=KRtDL=]''. Both in 64 and [=KRtDL=], it's because the shard falls upon him/he witnesses the ship fall. He simply helps because he saw it in front of him.
367
368[[WMG:Dedede wants to get everyone in shape.]]
369In ''Kirby's Dream Land'', he's putting the residents of Dream Land on a diet. He almost always fights Kirby in a boxing ring. In games with the Hammer ability, he tries to get Kirby to use it. [[spoiler:In the upcoming/canceled Kirby Wii, he takes away Kirby's Warp Star to get him to walk around more.]]
370* This is likely related to his past attempts at fending off {{Eldritch Abomination}}s -- he wants the inhabitants of Dreamland to be in good enough shape that he, Kirby, and Meta Knight aren't the only defenders. His trying to get ''Kirby'' into shape is much like Meta Knight's MO -- help him be a better Star Warrior.
371
372[[WMG:Meta Knight attempted to conquer Dream Land because there was a massive famine at the time.]]
373In the beginning of ''Meta Knight's Revenge'', MK briefly states his intention to change Dream Land's wasteful, lazy lifestyle. Poor administration and lack of work ethic finally took their toll on the fields, which were too degraded to bear crops anymore. The innocent citizens were starving, while the aristocrats were living comfortably on what they scraped away from everyone else. All the enemies fighting Kirby were part of the coups, on their way to the palace to join the main siege. Meta Knight was attempting to take over so he could prevent the death of thousands. His initial plan failed, so he went to a backup plan of working for the administration, funneling the ill-taxed food to the needing public behind the scenes, which is why he followed the orders of Dedede for a brief period of time.
374** We can assume that Kirby has stopped the famine since then, in the several endings where he gives the Dream Land residents food, but then again, you'd think that Kirby would be able to find another cake in ''Squeak Squad''... Unless, of course, there's none left.
375*** And even if there is; if he gets his back, then he can find another cake after, and then have ''two cakes''.
376** Doesn't hold up as well in the Japanese version, where his motivation is to cleanse Dreamland's corruption, whatever that means.
377*** Actually, it holds up perfectly well. The theory as presented seems to merge both versions of Meta Knight's motivation.
378
379[[WMG:Dream Land is Hell, and the characters in it are the seven deadly sins.]]
380* Kirby -- Gluttony, obviously
381* Meta Knight -- Pride/Vanity
382* King Dedede -- Greed
383* Lololo and Lalala -- Lust (it's hard to find a Lust in a kids' game, okay?)
384** What about those enemies that fly around and kiss you? They're either in ''[=KSSU=]'' or ''Squeak Squad'', maybe both.
385*** They're in ''Kirby and the Amazing Mirror'', actually, and they're called Leaps. Though I think they're also in ''Squeak Squad''.
386** It can actually be perfectly easy to find lust in a kids' game; lust simply refers to any type of excessive desire or ambition. ("Bloodlust", for example.)
387*** Lust can refer to a lust for power, too. [[spoiler:Magolor]] would fill that gap in, then.
388* Marx -- Envy
389* Nightmare -- Wrath
390* Whispy Woods -- Sloth
391* And Dark Matter? Dark Matter is the devil itself. Hence why it takes the form of a fallen angel as O[[superscript:2]]. Doesn't this all make sense now?
392
393[[WMG:Popstar is a chaos world from ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40000'']]
394Kirby is a greater daemon and champion of Slaanesh, decadent and self-indulgent yet protecting Popstar against all outside threats. Meta Knight is a greater daemon of Khorne, a war-hungry conqueror. Marx is Tzeentch's servant, a power-hungry schemer. Dark Matter, an infectious being who fights by amongst other things bleeding on the enemy, is of course Nurgle's attempt at taking over the system of Popstar.
395
396[[WMG:''Kirby's Adventure'' is a training mission set up by Meta Knight.]]
397Many times, in the game and the show, Kirby is implied to be Meta Knight's apprentice. So, that leaves the possibility that Meta Knight set up the entire game without Kirby knowing. However, he didn't expect Nightmare to show up; when that happened, the "training mission" turned into a life-or-death situation.
398
399[[WMG:Meta Knight only attacked Dreamland to save its inhabitants.]]
400During ''Revenge of Meta Knight'', he invades Dreamland just so everyone can stop being lazy. That doesn't seem like a good reason to use an army and a giant warship to take over by force. In reality, Meta Knight knew of the upcoming threat of Marx, the ultimate villain in Kirby Super Star. He wanted to take over Dreamland, so he could teach everyone to stop being lazy and learn to defend themselves in case Kirby cannot defeat Marx.
401* If this were true, then what would happen if Marx did win?
402
403[[WMG:Drawcia and Yin-Yarn are just the beginning.]]
404Both enemies are very much connected to each other. Megalomaniacs from strange art dimensions? Check. Block Kirby's usual abilities, but at the risk of giving him new ones? Check. Dwell in strange alternate worlds resembling certain art aesthetics? Check. Decked out in wizard hats and billowing capes? Check. Feature in games endemic to certain revolutionary consoles, utilizing their unique properties to their fullest? Check.
405
406What's more, they're not the last. [[SequelEscalation Sometime in the future, Kirby may have to fight a wizard wielding a massive fountain pen; or a sinister sorceror armed with a pair of scissors and a lot of paper]]. Villains from every corner of the art-media multiverse will come to try their best against Kirby, until finally, their master arrives... Craft, Lord of Art.
407* Although... we are getting a [[VideoGame/KirbyAndTheRainbowCurse sculptress who can make clay objects come to life]]. [[spoiler:Though she's actually being possessed by a huge, multicolored clay monster. Maybe that guy is TheDragon of Craft?]]
408
409[[WMG:Dream Land is just that -- the Land of Dreams.]]
410Specifically, it's Nintendo's answer to [[ComicBook/TheSandman Vertigo's The Dreaming]] -- a realm personifying the dreams, fantasizes and imagination of Nintendo's series. Its lighthearted nature comes from children being the most imaginative, [[VileVillainSaccharineShow along with its antagonists.]] Why are so many villains [[GenericDoomsdayVillain simple?]] [[JustifiedTrope They're children's dreams/nightmares.]] Why is the titular hero BadassAdorable? What do you expect a young child to dream up? The same goes for the cute enemies and animal friends. As for the characters:
411* Kirby is Nintendo's answer to [[ComicBook/TheSandman Dream]], who's significantly more childish and LighterAndSofter because Nintendo is generally E-rated.
412* King Dedede is the official guardian of the Dreamland, as Kirby isn't interested in the job. He's an AntiVillain because RousseauWasRight is a major theme of Nintendo (and again, children). Meta Knight represents the more cynical aspects of imagination, dreamt up by older individuals. Whispy Woods is a dream involving trees, Kracko comes from trying to find images in clouds, Paint Roller is just a cool dude, and Mr. Shine/Mr. Bright are the Man on the Moon/Face of the Sun respectively. I'm assuming [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]] dreamt up [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3 Mr. Bright.]]
413* 0 is TheHeartless-an embodiment of all negative emotions felt by the denizens of Nintendo's universe, given form in dreams. It manifests its power with Dark Matter, which is the AnthropomorphicPersonification of the fear of the dark.
414* Nightmare is the god of nightmares. You may better know him as [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Phobetor.]] As for other nightmares, [[MonsterClown Necrodeus]] is either a nightmare about darkness and/or death, Dark Mind is a nightmare of reflections trying to kill you, [[ArtInitiatesLife Drawcia]] is a nightmare about a MadArtist, and so on.
415** This is partly jossed by ''Kirby's Adventure''. Dreamland is a country on the planet Popstar which houses the fountain of dreams, a fountain where dreams come from. The main antagonist, Nightmare, did come from that fountain and ''Kirby Super Star'' shows similar structures exist on other planets, so many of the other bosses may indeed be nightmares that came through a fountain where no Dedede and Kirby were around to oppose them.
416
417[[WMG:Kirby's abilities are based on matter-energy manipulation and rigorous training]]
418Kirby's basic abilities correlate to a Slyph, an alchemical spirit of air. Air is the fuel of the athlete, so it makes sense this is what he would start with and is all he has in the first game. Possibly the biggest enemy this series has ever had is Zero/Zero 2, a reference to oxygen being the vital part of air to the athlete, thus really powerful. Also symbolism, one of {{the devil}}'s epithets is prince of air because he claims dominion over all that breathes, hence Zero's control over Dark matter, the substance most of the universe is made of and Dark Matter's {{demonic possession}}s, particularly of wannabe authority figure King Dedede.
419
420Kirby does suck air from the environment around him, but produces air and directs currents of it into his mouth. This is how he can inhale in outer space where there is no atmosphere. Kirby can hold his breath indefinitely because he has surpassed organic respiration and his puffed up flying is him internalizing the air production ability. The damaging {{visible sigh}} is a combination of the two. ''Kirby's Dreamland 3'' shows that the average batamon (which look just like Kirby) are as weak as Waddle Dees. King Dedede learned Kirby's flight abilities just by observing him and in ''Kirby Super Star'' you are able to encounter a seemingly ordinary Waddle Dee granted "boss" status that proves to be much tougher than the ones you usually brush by.
421
422This suggests that the creatures on Popstar acquire their abilities mostly through hard work with proper direction but have an alchemy-like ability to replicate and alter matter or energy. Kirby must have become particularly good at it by ''Kirby's Adventure'', hence the copy abilities. Dedede could probably come just as far but lacks the drive and insight, softened and distracted by his luxurious lifestyle. Meta Knight trains harder than Kirby but does not have Kirby's natural talent or willingness to experiment, making him less versatile. He is also afraid of getting hurt, his armored mask has become a crutch.
423
424Also, if you pay attention to Kirby to when Kirby lands, he always produces a star on impact. The stars the bosses produce when stomping around and various other actions? ''Solid force'', either they do not realize they are doing it or simply cannot help it. Kirby weaponizes it regardless. The warp stars might be akin to the natural flow of energy through the universe which can be manipulated for a traveler's benefit at points. How he calls warp stars with a ''cellphone'' might also suggest the universe itself is alive on some level and Kirby has learned to speak to and influence certain channels of it.
425
426[[WMG:The bosses of ''Kirby Super Star'' each have specific origins (using Anime as basis).]]
427'''My guesses:'''
428
429Whispy Woods: The ruler of the Whispy Woods. The first tree in the forest is Acore, who is Whispy Woods's best friend. King Dedede seeks to cut down Whispy Woods and turn his Whispy Woods into a golf course.
430
431Lololo and Lalala: Two monsters created from one (Lola).
432
433Kracko: The original was a monster from [[Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa NME]]. After his death, Dedede had Escargoon brew up some monster formula and the steam became a new Kracko.
434
435Dedede: A 300 year old penguin king of Dreamland.
436
437Kawasaki: Bad chef...
438
439Bonkers: Escaped ape from a zoo. Fan of Kirby.
440
441Bugzzy: Monster created by Nightmare. He made multiple.
442
443Mr. Frosty: Monster created by Nightmare. Sent to Dreamland while Meta Knight was blowing up Nightmare's fortress (same class as Mekkai).
444
445Poppy Bros. Sr.: Originally a Poppy Bros. Jr. sent to Dreamland by Nightmare. It was injected with Escargoon's monster serum making it bigger.
446
447Iron Mam: ???
448
449Dyna Blade: Ancient bird who's protective of her chicks.
450
451Fatty Whale: A fat blue whale that lives in a lake underneath Dreamland.
452
453Computer Virus: A set of computer windows featuring an RPG.
454
455Chameleo Arm: A light colored creature that can change colors. It can mimic the surrounding area through its color change.
456
457Wham Bam Rock: A brown stone idol.
458
459Whispy Woods: Same as before.
460
461Twin Woods: The angry trees of Whispy Woods seeking vengance on Kirby for defeating their master twice.
462
463Main Cannon 2: One of the two main cannons of the Halberd.
464
465Heavy Lobster: Replica of the robotic monster sent by Nightmare against the first Halberd.
466
467Reactor: Reactor to the Halberd. Runs on Wheelies.
468
469Meta Knights: Sir Meta Knight's elite gaurd.
470
471Sir Meta Knight: Member of Kirby's species... May have been split off from the monster that rebelled against Nightmare by Slice and Splice.
472
473Twin Woods: Brown leafed rulers of Floria.
474
475Fatty Whale: A fat red whale that rules Aquarius.
476
477Kracko: One of Nightmare's monsters. Of the exact same blue colored breed of Kracko that once attacked Dreamland on Nightmare's orders (as opposed to the whiter variant accidentally created by Escargoon).
478
479Chameleo Arm: A darker variant of the previous Chameleo Arm. Gaurds the star on Hotbeat.
480
481Wham Bam Rock: A reddish stone idol. Gaurds the star on Cavius.
482
483Heavy Lobster Mk II: Advanced titanium variant on Nightmare's normal golden Heavy Lobsters. Found guarding the Heavy Lobster manufacturing plant on Nightmare's second golden fortress Mekkai.
484
485Computer Virus: Another set of computer windows featuring an RPG.
486
487Galactic Nova Nucleus: Core of the wish granting comet Nova.
488
489Marx: Powerful sorcerer. Tricked the sun and moon to fight each other then used Kirby to summon Nova to get it to conquer Dreamland.
490
491Phan Phan: Rogue monster that escaped from Nightmare; it initially moved to Whispy Woods only to be drawn to Poison Plants and tamed by Dedede.
492
493Whispy Woods Revenge: Was most likely an apple from the Whispy Woods injected with Escargoon's monster serum.
494
495Fire Lion: An illusion created by the Illusion Isles.
496
497Lololo and Lalala's Revenge: Dark Meta Knight most likely split Lololo and Lalala individually into two during one of his visits resulting in two Lololos (a blue one and a purple one) and two Lalalas (a pink one and an orange one). Dedede most likely shipped the two extra ones to the Illusion Isles for later use.
498
499Kracko's Revenge: Remnants of Nightmare's own Kracko most likely were injected with Escargoon's monster serum creating an even stronger Kracko than the one that the monster serum created from steam.
500
501Kabula: A powerful blimp created by Escargoon.
502
503Tick Tock: Robot created by Escargoon.
504
505Grand Wheelie: Once a Wheelie created by Nightmare, it was found by Dedede and injected with Escargoon's monster serum.
506
507Twin Fire Lions: Created from either dumping monster serum into a fire or by injecting a cat with monster serum or both in an attempt to recreate [[Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa NME]]'s own Fire Lion.
508
509Masked Dedede: King Dedede wants revenge against Kirby. He gets kicked out of the castle and moves to the Dark Castle where he'll inevitably be possessed by Dark Matter.
510
511Galacta Knight: Is likely the monster that rebelled against Nightmare. He most likely was sealed away and weakened by having Slice and Splice split off Meta Knight and later Kirby from him.
512
513Wham Bam Jewel: King of the civilization that created the Wham Bam Rocks.
514
515Marx Soul: Marx absorbed pieces of Nova before Meta Knight repaired it and became Marx Soul.
516
517[[WMG:All of the ''Kirby'' games fit into one coherent timeline.]]
518After seeing a few videos about what the Mario timeline could be, I started wondering if ''Kirby'' could be put into one timeline, and I think I’ve done just that. Be warned: This is a long one, and there are spoilers. Also, I've skipped over most of the spin-offs, Arena modes, and minigames, since they don't usually have much of a story.
519
520''Kirby’s Dream Land'' is obviously the first in the timeline. It was the first time someone stood up to King Dedede, it was Kirby’s first adventure, and most importantly, Kirby couldn’t use Copy Abilities yet. As you’ll see, Kirby’s Copy Ability will continue to be important throughout this timeline.
521
522Anyway, moving on to ''Kirby's Dream Land 2'', which is the first game in the Dark Matter Trilogy. It’s also Kirby’s first time using Copy Abilities, so as you’d expect, he has a limited amount of them to choose from. However, teaming up with his new animal friends changes what his Copy Abilities do, which helps to diversify his attacks.
523
524Naturally, ''Kirby's Dream Land 3'' is next, and it's the second game in the Dark Matter Trilogy. This time around, the main antagonist is 0, the leader and source of all Dark Matter. Of course, Kirby defeats him, but like the previous game, he didn’t do it alone. Not only did he have Gooey and the same three animal friends from Dream Land 2, but he also met even more animal friends, giving him more options with his Copy Abilities. This gives Kirby an idea: If he can combine his ability with someone else's, can he combine two of his abilities?
525
526This leads to the events of ''Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards'', which marks the end of the Dark Matter Trilogy. At the end of this game, Kirby fights the resurrection of 0, now known as 02. Kirby defeats him again, this time for good. There’s also a Waddle Dee that helps Kirby throughout this adventure who would become the blue-bandana-wearing, spear-wielding Waddle Dee we see in later games.
527
528After ''Kirby 64'', Kirby decides to ditch the idea of combining abilities and just focus on improving single abilities. Also, after finding out that his Cutter ability had gone from conjuring a blade to throwing his own face, Kirby decided to have a hat that came with a blade on top for Cutter. While he was at it, he gave nearly every other Copy Ability a hat too. This leads to Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. As of this game, Kirby has uncovered 17 more Copy Abilities to use, but most of them are still only relegated to a single attack. Also noteworthy is that this is Meta Knight’s first appearance, and he’ll continue to be a prominent character from this point forward.
529
530The power of ''Kirby's Copy Ability'' continues to grow, as we see in Kirby Super Star. He's still finding new Copy Abilities, and the ones he already has gain new skills, reaching a whole new level of complexity. On top of that, Kirby starts temporarily recruiting enemies he's defeated to help him fight, which he won't do again for some time. ''Super Star'' was split into various sub-games, but we can assume most of them happened around the same time because Kirby's Copy Abilities do the same things in all of them. In fact, they take place in this exact order: ''Spring Breeze'', ''Dyna Blade'', ''The Great Cave Offensive'', ''Revenge of Meta Knight'', and ''Milky Way Wishes''. I’ll explain how I know this later. For now, let's move on to the next game:
531
532''Kirby Mass Attack''. This is one of the games where Kirby is unable to use his Copy Ability, which is because he's been split into ten tiny versions of himself. By the time Kirby uses his Copy Abilities again, they'll have noticeably regressed due to lack of use. This is also why he lost the ability to automatically switch to his various forms after ''Milky Way Wishes''. You might be asking yourself "Shouldn't this take place after ''Kirby: Squeak Squad'', since Daroach from that game appears in this one and he's no longer an enemy?" Actually, Daroach never mentions the events of ''Squeak Squad'', and he even introduces himself to the Kirbys in this game. This implies that this is the first time they've met.
533
534Next up, we have ''Kirby: Canvas Curse'', which is the only game in this timeline where the gameplay is radically different from regular ''Kirby'' games, yet he can still use Copy Abilities. Since ''Mass Attack'' caused his skills to regress, though, he's at a level that's similar to, but not the same as, ''Dream Land 2''. He has a limited selection of Copy Abilities that can only do one kind of attack, but the abilities Kirby has to choose from are mostly different.
535
536Thanks to having access to his Copy Abilities during ''Canvas Curse'', Kirby is more powerful during his next adventure, ''Kirby: Squeak Squad''. In this game, Kirby's former friend Daroach becomes his newest enemy, and Meta Knight rebuilds the Halberd after it was destroyed in the events of ''Revenge of Meta Knight''. By the end of ''Squeak Squad'', the Halberd is still fully intact, which will be important later on.
537
538Afterwards, ''Kirby & the Amazing Mirror'' takes place, which has Dark Meta Knight, Meta Knight's Mirror World counterpart, split Kirby into four. He was more powerful than in ''Squeak Squad'' before the split, but now his Copy Ability is at about the same level again. After the events of ''Amazing Mirror'', Kirby became whole again. Since all four Kirbys had been using Copy Abilities throughout ''Amazing Mirror'', Kirby becomes even stronger when reunited.
539
540''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'' is the next game. This is one of two points in the timeline where Kirby's Copy Ability is at the height of its power. In this game, Kirby's house and King Dedede's castle are lifted into the sky by the Dreamstalk, an enormous plant dropped by the people of Floralia. The reason it was dropped was to get the attention of a hero to save them from their ruler: Queen Sectonia, the game's main antagonist. Meanwhile, Queen Sectonia has her henchman Taranza kidnap the hero, which he mistakes King Dedede for. Towards the end, he realizes his mistake and has Dedede don a mask and a high-tech hammer to fight Kirby. Also note that the Waddle Dee from ''Kirby 64'' has started sporting that bandana, but he's not shown using a spear yet.
541
542After ''Triple Deluxe'' comes ''Kirby's Epic Yarn'', where we see that, like ''Mass Attack'', Kirby's Copy Ability has regressed from not being used. However, since ''Epic Yarn'' has Kirby constantly changing and turning into different objects, he doesn't regress nearly as much this time. He's down to ''Super Star'' level by the end of it, rather than a pseudo-''Dream Land 2'' level. Another important thing to note is that Meta Knight still has the rebuilt Halberd from ''Squeak Squad''.
543
544After ''Epic Yarn'', Meta Knight decides to go on a quest of his own. He's been beaten many times by Kirby, once by Dark Meta Knight, and now he's been under the control of ''Epic Yarn''[='=]s antagonist, Yin-Yarn. He needs reassurance that he's a strong warrior, and that reassurance comes in the form of the Kirby Super Star Ultra sub-game Meta Knightmare Ultra. He goes through all the same levels, enemies, and bosses that Kirby did during the events of ''Super Star'', even going as far as to sink the Halberd again, just to prove his strength. He even does it all in the same order as ''Kirby: Spring Breeze'', ''Dyna Blade'', ''The Great Cave Offensive'', ''Revenge of Meta Knight'', and ''Milky Way Wishes''.
545
546Of course, this means that Meta Knight would have to fight King Dedede as well. This has Dedede feeling even worse than Meta Knight. He's been beaten by Kirby, Taranza, Yin-Yarn, and now Meta Knight. This also gives him a strong desire to prove his worth, which leads to ''Kirby: Triple Deluxe''[='=]s secondary campaign, Dededetour. Dedede hears that Queen Sectonia and her minions have been resurrected, now stronger than ever. He uses this as an opportunity to not only prove his strength, but to take over Floralia and gain access to more troops and resources. After defeating Sectonia, Dark Meta Knight makes a surprise return, seeking revenge. Dedede defeats him, and this victory gives him newfound confidence.
547
548This confidence leads him to recreate that mask and high-tech hammer he used when he was under Taranza’s control, rebuild his army, and challenge Kirby to one last fight. This kicks off the events of the other sub-game introduced in ''Super Star Ultra'', ''Revenge of the King''. Kirby knows that fighting Dedede will be a lot more difficult this time, so he once again resorts to recruiting defeated enemies. Near the end of it, Bandana Waddle Dee is forced to fight Kirby, and realizes how weak he is when Kirby effortlessly wins. Kirby also wins in his fight against Masked Dedede directly after.
549
550The next game in the timeline is ''Kirby's Return to Dream Land''. Kirby's once again at the height of his power, King Dedede decides that if you can't beat them, join them, Meta Knight has a newfound love of adventuring, and Bandana Waddle Dee has trained himself to fight with a spear. The game's plot kicks off when Magolor, a wizard from another planet named Halcandra, crash-lands his ship into Dream Land and asks Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee to help him find the missing pieces. Towards the end, Magolor obtains the Master Crown and reveals himself as the game’s main antagonist. Kirby and friends destroy him before he can fulfill his evil scheme.
551
552Next up is ''Kirby and the Rainbow Curse'', a game in which, unlike ''Canvas Curse'', Kirby cannot use his Copy Ability. This makes it yet another regression, but like ''Epic Yarn'', being able to transform allows him to stay at ''Super Star'' level. After this game, Kirby decides to train himself back to his prime, and Magolor, back from the dead and now on friendlier terms with Kirby, helps him with that. He builds a set of various obstacle courses. The first three are made for his ''Super Star'' skill level. Magolor has King Dedede challenge Kirby to see who can eat the most food and reach the goal first, setting into motion the only remaining sub-game from ''Kirby Super Star'', ''Gourmet Race''. The remaining thirteen obstacle courses are to maintain Kirby's power once it's at its highest point, and Kirby's racing rival is Magolor himself this time. Thus, the timeline concludes at ''Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition''[='=]s New Challenge Stages.
553
554To recap:
555* ''Kirby's Dream Land''
556* ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''
557* ''Kirby's Dream Land 3''
558* ''Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards''
559* ''Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land''
560* ''Spring Breeze'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
561* ''Dyna Blade'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
562* ''The Great Cave Offensive'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
563* ''Revenge of Meta Knight'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
564* ''Milky Way Wishes'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
565* ''Kirby Mass Attack''
566* ''Kirby: Canvas Curse''
567* ''Kirby: Squeak Squad''
568* ''Kirby & the Amazing Mirror''
569* Story Mode (''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'')
570* ''Kirby's Epic Yarn''
571* ''Meta Knightmare Ultra'' (Kirby Super Star Ultra)
572* ''Dededetour'' (Kirby: Triple Deluxe)
573* ''Revenge of the King'' (Kirby Super Star Ultra)
574* ''Kirby's Return to Dream Land''
575* ''Kirby and the Rainbow Curse''
576* ''Gourmet Race'' (Kirby Super Star)
577* New Challenge Stages (Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition)
578
579I’ll refrain from placing ''Kirby: Planet Robobot'' until the full game is out and I know all about it, but for now, it seems to take place after New Challenge Stages. Kirby is at full power, and still finding new Copy Abilities. His new mech can use his Copy Abilities in a functionally different way, which is pretty similar to the Animal Friends. This seems to hint that Kirby is once again starting to experiment with how his Copy Abilities work. Meta Knightmare Returns probably takes place soon after.
580
581* This is good, but there are some errors regarding this theory:
582--> 1. Daroache's theme in Mass Attack is called "Daroache Reunion", meaning that he has already met Kirby (or in this case the Kirbies) before. At no point does Daroache get to introduce himself in ''Squeak Squad'', so if he was starting over, this would be the best time to "properly" introduce himself.
583--> 2. Aren't ''Spring Breeze'' and the first game practically the one and the same? Both of them involve Dedede stealing all the food in Dream Land.
584--> 3. One of Stone Kirby's transformations in ''Triple Deluxe'' is a statue of both Marx ''and'' Magolor. So how could Kirby turn into a statue of the two of them, if he never knew the second? So I would probably restructure it like this:
585
586* ''Kirby's Dream Land'' / ''Spring Breeze'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
587* ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''
588* ''Kirby's Dream Land 3''
589* ''Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards''
590* ''Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land''
591* ''Dyna Blade'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
592* ''The Great Cave Offensive'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
593* ''Revenge of Meta Knight'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
594* ''Milky Way Wishes'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
595* ''Kirby: Squeak Squad''
596* ''Kirby: Canvas Curse''
597* ''Kirby Mass Attack''
598* ''Meta Knightmare Ultra'' (''Kirby Super Star Ultra'')
599* ''Kirby's Return to Dream Land''
600* ''Kirby & the Amazing Mirror''
601* Story Mode (''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'')
602* ''Kirby's Epic Yarn''
603* ''Dededetour'' (''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'')
604* ''Revenge of the King'' (''Kirby Super Star Ultra'')
605* ''Kirby and the Rainbow Curse''
606* ''Gourmet Race'' (''Kirby Super Star'')
607* New Challenge Stages (''Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition'')
608* ''Kirby Planet Robobot''
609
610[[WMG:Extra Modes/Arenas are AlternateUniverse versions of the Story Modes]]
611From the confirmation by Kirby's director that Extra Modes/Arenas are meant to be "what if" scenarios, my guess is that those events in those modes occur in an alternate universe. I'm saying this because crossing between dimensions is a thing in the Kirby verse; who knows, maybe some of the stuff exclusive in there might cross over to the "main" timeline?
612
613[[WMG:My Idea of the Kirby Timeline]]
614Here’s what I think the overall timeline of the series would look like.
615* Kirby’s Dream Land: Since Kirby is at his most inexperienced here, he doesn’t know how to copy abilities and can only spit enemies that he inhales back at his opponents.
616* Kirby’s Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland: Kirby at some point learns how to use copy abilities, but he is still at sort of an UnskilledButStrong phase, which explains why most of the abilities have only one move.
617* The Dark Matter Trilogy (Dream Land 2, 3, and Crystal Shards): The reason I say this comes before Super Star is because Kirby still only knows how to use only one move per ability in these three games, but in Kirby 64, he starts experimenting by combining abilities to expand his move set.
618* Kirby Squeak Squad: This must happen at least before Revenge of the King in Super Star Ultra, since Kirby still clearly has some kind of grudge against Dedede for the penguin king to automatically be his first suspect for the cake theft. Additionally some abilities have slightly more varied movesets, but not nearly as varied as in Super Star, suggesting that Kirby is training. The fact that Kirby collects scrolls that teach him new moves only solidifies that claim.
619* Kirby Super Star/Ultra: In these games, Kirby has fully learned how to use much more complex moves for his abilities, allowing him to become the StrongAndSkilled warrior we know and love.
620* Kirby and the Amazing Mirror: Mostly since it doesn’t really fit anywhere else.
621* Kirby: Canvas Curse: I honestly don’t know.
622* Kirby Mass Attack: Same as Amazing Mirror.
623* Kirby’s Epic Yarn: Same as those two.
624* Kirby’s Return to Dreamland/Deluxe: Here, not only has Kirby mastered the copy ability, he’s become renowned throughout the galaxy as a hero, as evidenced by Magolor already knowing Kirby’s name before they met.
625** Kirby’s Dream Collection: Obviously after RTDL, since Magolor has become TheAtoner.
626* Kirby Triple Deluxe: Once again there’s nothing anywhere that really hints at it being anything other than a sequel.
627** Dedede’s Drum Dash: Probably a ComaDream that Dedede has while being held hostage by Taranza.
628* Kirby Planet Robobobot: Same as Triple Deluxe.
629* Kirby Star Allies: Same as the 3DS games.
630* Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Same as Star Allies. But Kirby has learned to expand his moveset even more by evolving his copy abilities to be even stronger than they already were.

633[[folder:Grand Unifying Guesses]]
634
635[[WMG:Dark Matter is the/a major villain in all Nintendo games.]]
636Hopefully this is in the right place, perhaps it goes in Grand Unifying Guesses? At any rate.
637
638In ''Kirby's Super Star'', ''The Great Cave Offensive'', Kirby comes across items from various Nintendo worlds. For example, he finds Captain Falcon's helmet, the Screw Attack, a Mister Saturn, and a piece of the Triforce. This could mean that the Kirby world is connected to all of these worlds, and most likely ALL Nintendo worlds.
639
640And why shouldn't it be? It's Dream Land after all, it's literally the land of dreams. And Nightmares. It's not impossible that Dreamland is the world that connects all other Nintendo worlds together. What one character could dream about could easily be what is actually happening in another world. Say a kid, Ness perhaps, dreams that he's some kind of legendary hero who has to claim a legendary sword to destroy a monstrous evil, while in the Zelda world, Link dreams he has a loving family and friends and none of the typical nightmare fuel that he has to deal with on a daily basis.
641
642Now, granted, the above example is a little wonky; after all, Ness is also a legendary hero who has to destroy a monstrous evil, but who's to say he didn't have that dream before his adventure began? And in many cases Link does have a family, but there are a few instances where they seem a tad absent.
643
644Moving back to the point, Dark Matter is the Source of ALL evils in the world of Nintendo, taking on different forms depending on the universe that it ends up inhabiting, in order to make the best use of its powers and sow whatever havoc and evil that it can before it is destroyed, sealed, or temporarily removed, whatever the case may be. Some probable Dark Matter suspects from across the universes:
645
646''Metroid'': Phazon
647
648''Mario'': Dark Star, Shadow Queen, Dimentio
649* Ultimate evil of Mario? Really? Bowser would like a word with you.
650** Except that Bowser opposed both the Dark Star and Dimentio on the grounds that they wanted to wreck the entire world, and likely would have opposed the Shadow Queen for the same reason had he known about her. He wants to ''rule'' the world, not see it destroyed! (Except in ''Yoshi's Island DS'' and ''Super Mario Galaxy'', where he wanted to destroy the universe and then rebuild it as his galactic empire, but that was probably undone because it involved time travel.)
651** Indeed, Bowser is the most common antagonist, but he's far from being the setting's ultimate evil — he's consistently portrayed as only seeking to rule the Mushroom Kingdom and/or the world in about the same manner that, say, Dedede is portrayed as wanting to rule Dream Land. When more evil or destructive villains arrive, as said, he very consistently opposes them because their goals are too destructive or disrupting for him as well.
652* Eh, not Dimentio. Dimentio is probably affiliated with him, though.
653** Dark Matter would be closer to the Chaos Heart, not Dimentio.
654
655''Pokémon'': Missingno, Dark Rust
656* Coincedentally, ''VideoGame/PokemonSuperMysteryDungeon'' features an antagonist actually ''named'' Dark Matter. But are they the same Dark Matter as in the Kirby universe?
657
658''Custom Robo'': Rahu
659
660''Mother Series'': Giygas
661
662''Pikmin:'' The Umibōzu creature (Goolix, Waterwraith, Plasm Wraith)
663
664''Kirby'': Marx, Zero, Nightmare
665* Zero's not being manipulated by Dark Matter. Zero's essentially Dark Matter's brain.
666
667''Zelda'': Majora. According to a Japanese book, Dark Matter was lonely and wanted friends, similar to Majora who wanted to "play" with Link. Both seem to want to make friends but they have a very twisted definition of friendship. Vaati also applies after he gets his powers (presumably after a deal with Dark Matter). It also helps that he ends up looking a lot like Dark Matter in both of his OneWingedAngel forms and remains looking like that in his further appearances.
668* You forgot Dark Link. If he could make Dark Meta Knight, couldn't he make Dark LINK?
669* If Dark Matter exists in the Zelda universe, Demise could be a manifestation of it.
670
671So... on the whole, he leans towards Eldritch Abominations. Fun times.
672
673Related....
674
675[[WMG:Kirby is the Strongest Character in Nintendo Canon]]
676Basically related to all those "Kirby is an Eldritch Abomination" turned good guesses up there, but it's less Turned Good as it is Born Good. Kirby is Dark Matter's equal and opposite number ([[strike:Miracle]] Bright Matter?), and as such works against him whenever he pops up.
677
678Now, as to Kirby being an idiot if he's the equal and opposite? He's not so much idiotic as he is extremely childish, with all the good and bad that can entail.
679** If he is the strongest character, then let's see him take on Giygas.
680*** He'd probably win, actually.
681*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts-6BMCusCY Please don't suggest that.]]
682*** You cannot grasp the true form of Kirby's attack!

687[[WMG:Zero Two is [[VideoGame/{{Eversion}} Zee Tee]].]]
688Well, Zee Tee is, phonetically, ZT, which can stand for Zero Two, which seems to be a more canonical spelling than Zero Squared, even though the NUMBER is written as Zero Squared. Zero Two is likely what happens when you Evert to X-9.
689* Wouldn't that mean that the final levels in the Kirby games are in X-9? Come to think of it, what if Kirby everts using warp stars, and every world in each game is an eversion level that we don't see in Eversion? And then wouldn't that imply that Dark Matter is actually the result of the alternate-universe shadows from X-9 of normal people and things from X-1 traveling through the multiverse to make every world the same as X-9?
690
691[[WMG:Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright are the origins of Lunatone and Solrock.]]
692Is there any better explanation?
693* Specifically, Solrock and Lunatone are fragments of Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright rained down onto Dream Land when they fought in Milky Way Wishes. This makes Pop Star the Pokémon world in the distant past.
694* And Dittos are evolutions of Kirby?
695
696[[WMG:Kirby is related to the [[WesternAnimation/ShadowRaiders Beast Planet]].]]
697It's hinted in the anime that Kirby may contain a black hole or alternate dimension inside of him, and everything he inhales goes there. This sounds familiar...

699[[WMG:Galacta Knight -- the FinalBoss of Meta Knight's story mode in ''KSSU'' -- is an Angel from ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''.]]
700* First, he has a blatant core: his body.
701* Second, if you look closely, you can see a cross on his shield, and his visor is a cross. Keeping in mind the symbolism factor...
702* Third, NOVA summoned the "most powerful warrior in the galaxy". As we all know, each of the Angels is "TheJuggernaut", among other things.
703* Therefore, Galacta Knight must be a member of the Kirby-verse's race of Angels. The difference between them and NGE's? The Kirby-verse ''beat them''.
704
705[[WMG:The planned Wii Kirby game that became ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'' would have been a remake of/sequel to ''Kirby Super Star''.]]
706The Halberd is such a major presence in the Subspace Emissary, and we all know that the general level design is pretty Kirby-ish. (Just look at the Wheelies -- um, Roaders). Finally, there's the upgraded cutscenes in ''Kirby Super Star Ultra'', probably originally planned for the Wii version. We did get our Kirby game after all!
707* If your partner goes too far off-screen, they return to you just like the partners in ''Kirby Super Star''. And Sakurai created both ''Brawl'' and ''Kirby''.
708* One more: the first [[Franchise/{{Metroid}} Ridley]] fight is an ''extremely blatant'' Dynablade reskin.
709** How is Ridley a Dynablade reskin? The only attack he has that is even similar to one of Dynablade's is the one where he flies up and rushes towards the screen, and that was already sort of used in ''Super Metroid'', except it didn't do damage in that game.
710* Confirmed: We got ''VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamland'' instead in 2011.
711
712[[WMG:Meta Knight is a [[Franchise/KingdomHearts nobody.]]]]
713This Meta Knight, however, is well-intentioned; he is the one you see trying to help the player. The Meta Knight you see doing evil things is actually his Heartless.
714* You got the right evidence to the wrong theory. This evidence proves Meta Knight is actually Riku, and Kirby is Sora.
715** Going by this logic, Dark Meta Knight is Xehanort. Which, considering [[TheCorrupter what he did to Sectonia]], ain't half wrong.
716
717[[WMG:Zero is a [[Franchise/MassEffect Reaper]].]]
718Think about it. He assumes control of Dark Matter as its benefactor, seemingly coming from Dark Space which itself possesses various inhabitants and life forms from Pop Star and "augments" them to suit its needs (as in the case of King Dedede). This is proven in ''Kirby 64'', where they processed living animals in the Shiver Star factory to create Miracle Matter (who also acts as another form of Dark Matter, and consequently Zero), similar to how the Collectors were harvesting humans to create a [[EldritchAbomination Human-Reaper]]. The Heart Rod and Power Crystal are seen as a threat to them, as they are the only artifacts that can effectively purge Dark Matter from living organisms without harming them. Also, Gooey is of the same kind as Dark Matter, but much like the Geth, Gooey is perhaps able to resist the "indoctrination" of his kind.
719* Then who's acting as Commander Shepard?
720** Kirby.
721** Nago.
722** [[MemeticMutation Kirby]].
723*** Both Kirby and Commander Shepard like to dance!
724* Oddly enough, King Dedede shares the same administrative functions as Ambassador Udina in ''Franchise/MassEffect'' in that he only acts as a figurehead, and is also misunderstood in terms of motive at times. Yet, he doesn't seem to have a Council to answer to, and nobody seems to care what he does...
725** He's getting there. They've only met the Queen Fairy of Ripple Star, whose fairy denizens are pretty much the [[AmazonBrigade Asari]] in Kirby.
726* Warp Stars have their own natural occurring [[MinovskyPhysics Element Zero]] properties, which explains how Kirby is able to hop from star to star in ''Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards'' without a need of a Mass Relay. This also explains why Kirby prefers using Warps Stars to various fastidious {{Cool Starship}}s in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl''.
727* Zero's [[http://kirby.wikia.com/wiki/File:Kirby%27s_Dream_Land_3_%28U%29005.png final form]] in ''Dreamland 3'' is enticement of the [[http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Oculus Oculus]] in ''VideoGame/MassEffect2''.

729[[WMG:Dark Matter is a Homonculus, aka, [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Father]], and the entire Kirby story takes place beyond someone's gate.]]

732[[WMG:Galacta Knight is a [[Franchise/{{Digimon}} Jogress]] between a [[KnightInShiningArmor Dukemon/Gallantmon]] and an AU Kirby.]]
733In an alternate universe, Kirby was fighting the computer virus when it suddenly glitched up and sucked Kirby in. Kirby landed in the Digital World and the first thing he met is a Dukemon who asked Kirby who he is and where he came from. Kirby responded with the standard suck and [[PowerCopying Mega Man]] solution, but instead of borrowing Dukemon's powers, he [[FusionDance Jogressed]] with him. The result is Galacta Knight, who wears white armor thanks to Dukemon's overly white color scheme, a hot pink body thanks to a mixture of Kirby's pink and Dukemon's red, Dukemon's set of weapons and a few of his abilities, horns due to Dukemon's originally dragon nature, and a pair of wings that were somehow taken from Dukemon's Crimson Mode. Since Kirby is the base, Galacta Knight is not a Digimon, but since the result was from a Jogress, Kirby cannot spit the powers out either. With his newfound power, Galacta Knight ripped a hole through the space-time continuum and ended up back in his world, or so he thought. Before Galacta Knight could even realize he was in an alternate version of his world, he was sealed for his tremendous power, only to eventually be challenged by Meta Knight.

738[[WMG:Dark Matter is [[Literature/TheLordOfTheRings Sauron]].]]
739At the end of the Third Age, Sauron lost his physical form, and the ability to produce one. But, through strange eons, even death may die; and so, millions of years after the War of the Ring, Sauron returns to "life", but as a new creature. This body is now made of Dark Matter, and while his MindControl powers and [[NightOfTheLivingMooks his ability to raise the dead]] are intact, he gains some [[CastingAShadow sweet]] [[BodyHorror new]] [[BloodyMurder powers]] on the side.
740* Assuming that Dark Mind is a form of Dark Matter, this is further supported by the fact that his final form looks like Sauron's eye.
741
742[[WMG:The entire Kirby universe is a depiction of what happens "when the stars are right" in the Franchise/CthulhuMythos]]
743From ''The Call of Cthulhu'': "They were not composed altogether of flesh and blood. They had shape... but that shape was not made of matter. When the stars were right, They could plunge from world to world through the sky..." The Kirby universe takes place during one of these time periods, and the Warp Stars represent the incomprehensible means by which eldritch entities move from world to world.
744
745This theory implies that nearly every creature in the Kirby universe that are not limited to living on a single planet, from the lowliest Waddle Dee to Dark Matter itself, is in fact a monster that would reduce the human mind to gibbering madness if we were to ever behold their true forms; fortunately, the games greatly reduce their complexity in order to be playable by mere humans. Some of the bosses that only appear in one game and in one location, however, might be mundane, physical beings capable of [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu punching out]] {{eldritch abomination}}s, which is why, unlike most creatures in the Kirby universe, they ''stay dead'' after they are killed (for the rest, the phrase "through strange eons, even death may die" comes to mind).
746
747This would nicely explain why the planets in the "Pop Star System" vary from game to game: ''there is no Pop Star System''. Whenever we see a collection of planets Kirby can fly to (as in ''VideoGame/KirbySuperstar'' and ''VideoGame/Kirby64TheCrystalShards''), this is merely a two- or three-dimensional simplification of the worlds he is capable of reaching based on the current position of the stars, which may be millions of light years apart in physical space, and, more likely than not, do not even exist in the same universe (which would explain why many of these planets take on bizarre shapes that could not exist in our reality). As the stars are constantly in motion, this set of planets regularly shifts. Notably, this collection of planets once included [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bf_eumWpMM a post-apocalyptic frozen Earth in which robots had taken over]].

766Crazy? Yes. Evidence? Maybe.
767In Super Star Ultra, you fight Bandanna Waddle Dee, and kill him. However, he reappears to cheer for Dedede the very next fight. Many use this as evidence of Kirby not killing his foes. But what if there's a different explanation? I can think of two:
768* Another Waddle Dee put on a blue bandanna. It's just an accessory, after all. ''Any'' waddle dee ''could'' have put one on.
769* [[TitleDrop Bandanna Waddle Dee is a Time Lord]]. Now hang on here, [[TimeyWimeyBall this might get confusing]].
770** The one Kirby fights [[KilledOffForReal actually dies]]; the one in the crowd is actually from the killed one's past. Crowd Bandanna Dee is actually there; being the version from that time. Heck, he might have even got the bandanna idea right then. [[StableTimeLoop From himself]]!
771** The one Kirby kills is from the future -- hence he ''knows'' Kirby as a friend and doesn't do anything to harm him (Hey, he would have his spear by that point!). Waddle Dee still being what he is, goes down easily. If he's fought normally, it fits that he's now more durable than other Waddle Dees from having at least one full-scale quest with Kirby. If he's inhaled in this fight... well, that makes anything his size into a OneHitWonder, now doesn't it?
772** If so, Kirby also [[NiceJobBreakingItHero unknowingly killed his future friend]] in the past. [[YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe Whoops!]]

779Other then a similar outward appearance that normal evil eyes have to dark matter (being black spheres with a single eyeball), the extra boss of ''Touhou 2'', Evil Eye Sigma, bears a significant resemblance to 0 itself, possessing a halo as well as two wings and tentacles at its base, and is fought in a featureless void similar to the Hyper Zone.
780* Furthermore, in later games, evil eyes gain four tendrils that strongly resemble the petal-like ones that conventional dark matter possesses.
781
782[[WMG:Dark Matter and other Eldritch abominations are from the [[Literature/{{Discworld}} Dungeon Dimensions]].]]
783
784The laws of physics in the vicinity of Pop Star really seem to more of guidelines. I argue reality is fairly weak in that region due to how much magic is around and how bizarre all the life is. Thus, the manifestation of horrible things from outside of spacetime is simply something to be expected.
785

789[[WMG:The [[VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiBowsersInsideStory Dark Star]] is an artifact of the Ancients]]
790
791Considering an image of it appears on [[spoiler:the Lor Starcutter's sail during the fight with it and Magolor]] in ''VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand'' and that it carries the star motif (albeit in the ''Mario'' style) and is so hugely powerful like so many other Ancients-linked artifacts, it seems plausible the Dark Star originally crash-landed in the Mushroom Kingdom from ''Kirby'' territory.
792
793[[WMG:The Greater Nintendo Universe Theory]]
794
795Okay, so here's how this works. Stay with me on this one.
796
797[[Franchise/{{Metroid}} Samus]] shows up in ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamLand3'' as part of a heart star quest. This clearly connects ''Kirby'' to ''Metroid'', meaning they take place in the same universe. There's also the screw attack appearing in ''The Great Cave Offensive'', likely something Samus left behind by accident after she left Pop Star to continue her quest in ''VideoGame/MetroidSamusReturns'' to destroy all the metroids.
798
799Now, more ''Great Cave Offensive'' stuff connects ''Kirby'' to other game series. ''The Great Cave Offensive'' proves that ''Zelda'' and ''Kirby'' are [[{{Pun}} linked]]. Ignoring Kirby's sword hat (which is likely a coincidence) we find the Triforce in ''The Great Cave Offensive''. Now, this is obviously a replica, given that touching the Triforce would grant Kirby's wish or something like that (it's confusing) but someone clearly had to know of the Triforce to make a replica. Therefor we can surmise that ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda'' is in the same universe as ''Kirby''. That also means ''Zelda'' and ''Metroid'' take place in the same universe.
800
801Now, given that ''Zelda'' and ''Kirby'' are in the same universe we can link ''Kirby'' to ''[[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]]'' (and by extension, ''VideoGame/DonkeyKong'') due to Link's cameo in ''Super Mario RPG'' and Deku Scrubs showing up in ''Galaxy'' (look, I took it off the internet). Of course, I probably didn't have to go through that connection to get the other connection since Donkey Kong and Mario treasures show up in the great cave as well.
802* The Triforce thing isn't that complicated. You get all three pieces in one place, you make a wish, the Triforce grants it, and then it scatters. That's it. Additionally, there are no Deku Scrubs anywhere in ''Super Mario Galaxy''.
803* Adding onto this, [[VideoGame/PaperMario64 Paper Mario]] has a Star Rod that's located on top of a fountain. ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar'' also confirms that multiple Fountains of Dreams/Star Rods exist outside of Popstar, meaning that Paper Mario's Star Rod might be connected to the others.
804
805[[WMG:The Metroids in ''Kirby's Dream Land 3'' were brought to Popstar by the Space Pirates]]
806Considering how they bring the Metroids to various planets in the ''VideoGame/MetroidPrimeTrilogy'', it's not an unreasonable explaination as to why there are Metroids on Popstar in the first place. The reason there's no Space Pirate bases or Space Pirates in general is because Samus arrived shortly after they started setting things up and took care of them.

812
813In ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'', Marx's pause screen description says that he will stay on Kirby's side as long as he is well fed. What happens at the beginning of ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar'', Marx's debut game? King Dedede steals all the food in Dream Land. Note that at the end of Spring Breeze, Castle Dedede floats over a large body of water before Kirby lands on what appears to be a stage, so it's likely that most of the food either fell into the ocean or was rained down on Kirby as he did his victory dance; therefore it's not unreasonable to assume that many citizens of Dream Land were still starving. Marx, possibly inspired by Meta Knight's failed takeover, decided to find a way to summon Nova to rid not only Dream Land but [[TodayXTomorrowTheWorld all of Pop Star of tyrants like Dedede,]] despite not having the power necessary to do so...yet. His comment about causing "all the mischief he wants" was likely either him JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope or simply another reason he'd want to take over.
814
815[[WMG:Marx turned evil and wished to rule Popstar because [[LostFoodGrievance Dedede stole his food]].]]
816Related to above but with the difference that he never had good intentions. Marx's description saying he easily makes friends with people who feed him could also imply he makes enemies from those who deprive him of food. When Dedede, the self-proclaimed king, stole all the food in Dream Land for himself, Marx swore not just to get his revenge by sending Kirby basically on a hit mission, but also that he'd never let it happen again -- not so it wouldn't happen to anyone else, but that it just wouldn't happen to ''him''. In fact, [[{{Hypocrite}} Marx could have all the food to himself]]. By becoming ruler of the whole planet as an all-powerful demon, no one would ever be able to deprive him of food again. Somewhere along the line he decided EvilFeelsGood and decided to take his previously minor pranks to the next [[SarcasmMode logical]] step and murder Kirby, who has become a [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness loose end]].
817
818[[WMG:Galacta Knight is Kirby from the future.]]
819Who else would the greatest warrior in the galaxy be? Even as a kid, Kirby's destroyed everything that's dared to get in his way. As he grew older, his power became greater until it was decided that he should be sealed away for fear that he would inadvertently destroy Pop Star.
820* How is it possible that Galacta is Kirby from the ''future'' if he was clearly sealed up in the ''past'' before Kirby's time? Unless it involves TimeTravel or some other complex, paradoxical theory...
821* [[http://fav.me/d2vucws This]] fanfiction elaborates on this idea [[spoiler: about half-way through]]
822* Or Galacta Knight is ''Meta Knight'' from the future, having grown much more powerful (and having taken his WellIntentionedExtremist bent a bit too far). Meta Knight will become the next Galacta Knight as described in a theory below, and TimeTravel will then make him the current Galacta Knight.
823** Alternate theory: Galacta Knight is Meta Knight's former Mentor turned evil.
824*** Alternate Alternate theory: [[RunningGag Galacta Knight is Meta Knight and Kirby fused together by a Dark Matter-corrupted Scarfy.]]
825*** Yet another alternate theory: Galacta Knight is Kirby's Father. Or Meta Knight's father. Or both.
826*** Alternate yet another alternate theory: Galacta Knight is Kirby's father and Meta Knight's brother. Or Kirby's mother.
827*** Alternatively, when Meta Knight wished to fight the ultimate warrior, Nova took the 'blueprint' of Galacta Knight from Meta Knight himself and created a new being; effectively the current ultimate warrior with some upgrades (which then gets beaten up because you can't improve on perfection).
828*** [[SarcasmMode "Galacta Knight is an ashamed Marx who dyed his skin and put on a mask and timetraveled and learned sword-fighting from Meta Knight in the future who is Kirby grown up."]] -The Ometon
829
830[[WMG:Master Hand and Crazy Hand are the Mirror World alternates of Wham Bam Rock]]
831Look at Wham Bam Rock: a sentient religious idol who attacks with his disembodied hands, uses finger lasers when he upgrades into Wham Bam Jewel, and is made out of stone. Master and Crazy Hand ''are'' gods, but they have the same tactics and humanlike hands.
832
833[[WMG:Kirby is a threat to all of Dreamland]]
834Semi-related to the "evil SOB" entry above. Note how all the major problems that occur in Dreamland happen because Dedede tries to preemptively handle things, and then Kirby runs in and beats the crap out of him and unleashes some ultimate evil in the process.
835* ...but don't forget that he DID save Dreamland from starvation that one time Dedede stole all of the food. Maybe he holds this above everyone's heads if they ever complain to him. Or he just sucks 'em up, I don't know.
836** Kirby also manages to stop all of the ultimate evils that he unwittingly unleashes, so maybe he's the universe's way of blowing up all the evil cans before a ''wimpy'' nitwit opens 'em up?
837*** You took the words right out of my mind. After all, it's best to destroy them before they hatch into something greater, instead of simply locking them away.
838
839[[WMG:Meta Knight will become the next Galacta Knight]]
840Seen on Website/GameFAQs, of all places. When Meta Knight finds Nova, he tells him that his one wish is to become stronger and stronger. Notice how Meta Knight doesn't need to explain WHY he wants to fight the ultimate warrior; all Marx had to do is say "I want to control Pop Star!" and that's it. No questions asked. Obviously, this was meant as exposition for the player. Sometime in the future, Meta Knight will reach a level of power that threatens all of Dream Land, and he may unleash another {{Well Intentioned Extremis|t}}m-fueled rampage. The result will probably end in Meta Knight either dying or being sealed away by Kirby or Dedede's hand, if they haven't been killed by Meta Knight already. [[HereWeGoAgain This will probably happen again and again]] [[StableTimeLoop one way or another]].
841
842[[WMG:The Waddle Dee species is prone to genetic mutation]]
843Hence the existence of Waddle Doos, Kirby, Meta Knight, and Galacta Knight.
844
845[[WMG:Kirby was somehow fused with a piece of Dark Matter]]
846We've already seen a "good" piece of Dark Matter in Gooey, and his powers are suspiciously similar to Kirby's. With the exception of Gooey, Kirby seems to be unique among Dream Landers. Even though Dedede can mimic Kirby's inhalation and floating powers, he hasn't yet been able to duplicate Kirby's PowerCopying. Not only that, but the nearest relatives of Kirby, the Waddle Dees and Meta Knight, also don't share his powers. The obvious conclusion is that Kirby's powers may also come from Dark Matter. This means, of course, that Dark Matter has been continually thwarted by a piece of himself.
847* There are enemies Amazing Mirror and Helpers in Kirby Super Star that can copy abilities too. Maybe its just rare?
848** The Kirbies in Amazing Mirror are actually mirror copies of Kirby, so it makes sense they would have his powers, and TAC (and low-health Helpers) doesn't copy things the same way Kirby does. But we still have Keeby and the {{Palette Swap}}ped Kirbies from Air Ride and Return To Dream Land.
849** Not mirror copies, ''enemies'', the yellow guys who suck out Kirby's power then run off with it.
850
851[[WMG:Meta Knight is incapable of copying powers]]
852Similar to the WMG before but in a different view. Notice how members of Kirby's species can suck up enemies and copy their powers? (This is evidenced by ''Kirby Air Ride'', although it may not be considered canon since the game is a spin-off.) We've seen Meta Knight's face enough to conclude that he's the same race as Kirby. Yet his ability to copy powers isn't even mentioned in either the games or the anime. (Though, the anime has a different universe than the games.) My theory? He's an oddball of his race, as he can't copy abilities, much less suck enemies up. To compensate for this, he learned swordfighting. (Which can explain why he's associated with Blade and Sword Knights so much.)
853
854[[WMG:The characters in the ''Kirby'' games are human.]]
855What the player sees is not reality. This "cute" appearance is done for stylistic reasons; all the characters are human. Kirby doesn't really inhale things; he is a warrior/magician who has the ability to copy powers.
856* He's still a child wizard, so [[BadassAdorable it doesn't really make a difference.]]
857
858[[WMG:Kirby is not real.]]
859He is only a dream made real by his homeland, very similar to [[spoiler:[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX Tidus]].]]
860
861[[WMG:Meta Knight CAN copy powers, he just chooses not to.]]
862If we accept that Meta Knight is the same race as Kirby, we have yet to see any valid reason for him to be incapable of Kirby's techniques (besides the fact that his mask covers his mouth). But we do know that Meta Knight is not as childlike as Kirby. One interesting possibility is that Meta Knight realized the FridgeLogic inherent in his powers and had a HeelRealization, vowing to never eat another foe (and deciding to use a weapon instead). This casts his relationship with Kirby in a new light: Meta Knight fights Kirby because he believes their powers are too destructive to be in a child's hands, but he knows Kirby isn't intentionally evil. This also provides an alternate reason for Meta Knight to give Kirby a sword whenever they fight: he's trying to nudge Kirby into relying less on his natural powers.
863
864[[WMG:Kirby is not a heartless monster. Just stupid.]]
865Kirby only eats/kills things that he thinks have to do with the "plot". Most of the creatures that he eats are incapable of communicating with him due to not being sapient, or simply not having a mouth or readily available alternate methods of communication. Anything Kirby lets live has some means to communicate their innocence to him. (Except the second-tier members of the Squeaks. Those were killed each time Kirby fought them, and Daroach brought them back to life each time with the [[strike:Star Rod]] Triple Star.) Any friends Kirby is ever depicted as having made offscreen are ONLY his friends BECAUSE he befriended offscreen, as had he encountered them in a game, they would have most likely been eaten like any other small mute creature that gets in his way. The final bosses COULD communicate with Kirby, but are definitively guilty of whatever reason Kirby is pissed off, so they get to be killed by the awesome might that is the adorable pink gum-ball known as Kirby.
866* Explain Waddle Dee in ''Crystal Shards''? He's killed plenty of them before and since. There's no proof that Waddle Dee didn't just go back to normal after that game, so Kirby may have killed the little fellow that helped him! And it might not be canon, but the Waddle Dees in ''Air Ride'' — they ''run out of the way'' when they see you coming, if they aren't in a minecart. A cart kind of like the one CS Waddle Dee gives you a ride in, [[FridgeHorror now that I think about it]].
867* It is shown in ''Super Star'' that there are peaceful versions of the Kirby creatures that he does not fight and enemy versions that he does. He mostly sees the former only in cutscenes but so long as Waddle Dee of ''Crystal Shards'' remained in that group Kirby most likely left him alone.
868
869[[WMG:Kirby's devouring of his enemies is not at all harmful to them.]]
870When Kirby "eats" a foe, he is not killing them or digesting them in a traditional sense. His actions against them are merely an inconvenience to the poor creature. You see, after Kirby eats a foe, all it takes to make that character respawn is to leave the screen, and return to that spot. The enemy is there, good as new! Rather than being left inside his belly to be digested, these foes are immediately ejected in some unseen process. This troper makes the assumption that Kirby, and all "Kirbies", can either fully digest their intake, or eject it after absorbing whatever special properties they can take away from it. Besides the reappearing enemies, one other thing may corroborate this theory: In the ''Super Smash Bros'' games, when Kirby swallows an enemy, this is exactly what happens. The foe is pooted out and regains their full form instantly!
871* To add a darker tone to this theory, the soul of the enemy escapes Kirby, and recreates its body when he's far enough.
872* In "Revenge of the King", right before you fight King Dedede, you fight a "Boss" Waddle Dee with a bandana who can be killed in one hit by inhaling and swallowing him. Either way, he sits and watches as the only member in the audience while you fight King Dedede.
873
874[[WMG:Dark Matter is a physical manifestation of malice, and Gooey's form was somehow altered.]]
875All Dark Matter beings seem to be able to do is either act violent and destructive, or make others act the same way. It causes despair and pain, and turns the closest allies into foes. This troper assumes that, normally, this is all Dark Matter is capable of, and all it is made of. And there is only one strange exception: Gooey. Gooey is made entirely of Dark Matter, yet has no malice. Something either robbed him of it, or corrupted him with some positive quality. Unable to become a benevolent being, this corruption led him instead to lose his mind, hence the gleefully senseless blob we see in the games.
876* This troper thinks that Kirby ate him, left him in his mouth for a bit while doing whatever Kirby does between games (eat and be happy I suppose), and Kirby's natural laziness and happiness just passed onto Gooey. Of course, Gooey's a bit crazy because he's still a bit of Dark Matter, and he shouldn't be able to be nice.
877
878[[WMG:Kirby's games are only relatively easy because Kirby is so powerful.]]
879This guy can suck up nearly anything and copy its powers, then use those powers against [[EldritchAbomination things that just shouldn't be]]. He's quite clearly an EldritchAbomination, and a very powerful one, after a HeelFaceTurn. For any other being not named [[{{God}} YHVH]], even the most badass of them, a Kirby game would more closely resemble ''VideoGame/IWannaBeTheGuy'', but harder. Indeed, there's a reason the hero in ''VideoGame/YouHaveToBurnTheRope'' is so Kirby-like: that's Kirby, after swallowing Indiana Jones, going through a "normal" game.
880* If he was an eldritch abomination he wouldn't need all the {{Eleventh Hour Superpower}}s he gets and wouldn't have been turned into a ball by Drawcia.
881
882[[WMG:Meta Knight ''can'' swallow enemies.]]
883He doesn't use this power because 1.) He would have to take off his mask, and expose his cuteness. 2.) Meta Knight is too cool for that. And [[BreadEggsMilkSquick 3.) Meta Knight is a mutated Kirby]] and when he tries to swallow a foe, he [[NightmareFuel eats their soul instead.]]
884
885[[WMG:Galacta Knight is a higher rank than Meta Knight.]]
886
887In Dream Land, there's a ranking for knights. Meta- and Galacta- just happen to be a ranking. Kirby's is most likely Star.
888
889[[WMG:GIM is a newer model of Heavy Lobster.]]
890It'd be one thing if they were both bipedal robots who just happened to share the same Gold/Blue coloring scheme, but in Helper to Hero mode of ''Kirby Super Star Ultra'', they both change their color palettes, and they both get the same new Silver/Red coloring!
891
892[[WMG:Meta Knight is a double-crosser.]]
893In the original information on Meta Knight he was a good friend of Dedede. So good a friend, in fact, that Dedede gives MK a piece of the Star Rod to protect. Come a few games later, Meta Knight is out to take control over what Dedede has claimed by using a giant battle ship to destroy all in his way. What a great friend.
894
895[[WMG:Meta Knight is blind.]]
896Well, he has the MilkyWhiteEyes for it. Maybe the mask helps him see, and ''that's'' why he always flees when he loses it.
897* The fanfic ''Fanfic/KnightErrant'' supports this theory.
898* So you are saying that Meta Knight is Geordi from ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration''?
899
900[[WMG:Unifying with the (possibly false) fact that Meta Knight doesn't like to use his powers, Dedede is of Kirby's species.]]
901He chose hammer.
902
903[[WMG:There is more than one titular Kirby]]
904There's a Kirby that gets hats when he swallows certain enemies (the most current one), a Kirby that doesn't get hats (''Dreamland'' through ''Crystal Shards'') but still gets copy abilities, and a Kirby that can't copy abilities at all. The middle one might actually be two -- one that can fuse abilities and one that can't. This would also mean that the name of his species is in fact "kirby", since all of them are referred to as such.
905
906The name is capitalized for individuals simply because they don't have a specific name, so "Kirby" is both the name of the individuals and the species as a whole. They just slightly vary in their ability to copy. This could explain the mysterious lack of his friends in recent games -- it's a different kirby, so he doesn't know them.
907
908This could also coincide with the idea of Meta Knight being a member of the species. It is possible that there is a special variant of the species that can choose one ability and make it permanent. That, or it's '''a)''' a given that any member that can copy abilities can choose one to be "permanent" or '''b)''' they actually can learn to use certain things, just like anyone else (i.e. spear waddle dees). It wouldn't effect their powers in the least, just give them an option on whether to use them or not.
909
910[[WMG:Kirby's Copy inhaling doesn't kill its victims.]]
911This is best shown in ''Super Smash Bros.'' (although I am aware that that's not the real Kirby), although it's always possible to bring back Kirby's enemies by leaving that area of the screen and then returning. Also, if you swallow the Waddle Dee with the blue bandanna in ''Revenge of the King'', he survives. In fact, you can do ''anything'' to him and he survives. With the exception of final bosses that Kirby kills using their specific weakness, the enemies don't die, they are teleported or something.
912
913[[WMG:Kirby and Meta Knight are NOT of the same species.]]
914If you look very carefully, you notice that Kirby has pink flaps for hands, Meta Knight has arms AND hands! This is especially noticeable in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'' and ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa''
915* But Meta Knight is supposed to be older than Kirby. So maybe as they get older they get arms?
916** In the Japanese-only game ''Kirby's Star Stacker'', when Meta Knight is shown without his mask and armor, his limbs and face look ''exactly'' like Kirby's.
917** Further supporting the alternative: In earlier games, Meta Knight has limbs that look exactly like Kirby's. In newer games (and the anime), he has thin arms and hands (leading to the FanNickname of "Señor Noodlearms").
918** Their bone structure is such that they can rearrange them to make their arms end in nubs or hands. This also allows them to squeeze into tight spaces.
919** Or Meta Knight has gloves that are magic like his space bending cape that turns into wings and are actually magical/mechanical and he began using them when he began using his cape.
920** ''Webcomic/BrawlInTheFamily'' opposes this. Apparently, Meta Knight looked identical to Kirby in Cocoon Academy. [[spoiler:That is, until parts of Dark Matter got mixed with him.]]
921** Again, that webcomic isn't canon. In ''Planet Robobot'', he has yellow eyes, but what does that mean?
922
923[[WMG:Meta Knight is ''extremely'' vain.]]
924The Codec calls in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' states that he's "narcassistic", and the fact he's plastered his face on the bow of a warship. Therefore, MK doesn't wear his mask because he's '''GRIMDARK''', he uses it to protect his cute features! As soon as he loses his mask, he fears his looks will be damaged forever in battle, and flees. Still totally badass, though.
925* Well, it is implied in ''VideoGame/KirbysEpicYarn'' that Meta Knight wears the mask to look mysterious… and undoubtedly cool.
926* The brainwashing that happens to Meta Knight in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'' is stated to ramp up his vanity, so possibly confirmed.
927
928[[WMG:The Kirby series is connected to Final Fantasy IV.]]
929Kirby is Cecil, Meta Knight is ''obviously'' Golbez, Zero is Zemus/Zeromus, Dedede is the reborn (true) King Baron; et cetera. Who is Kain? Prince Fluff of course!
930* So that means that... Meta Knight is Kirby's [[spoiler: brother?]]
931
932[[WMG:Meta Knight is Kirby's adult form]]
933Think about it.
934* In ''Super Star'', Meta Knight can perform Mach Tornado without the aid of a Copy Ability. Mach Tornado is the strongest attack that he has in most games, and in his playable appearance it's the gameplay equivalent of [[NukeEm Crash]].
935* He can shoot fire and lightning from Galaxia in ''Squeak Squad'': Flame and Spark, anyone?
936* I don't have to mention Sword, do I?
937* He also has super-speed and can use Full Heal on himself as many times as he wants to.
938Other unrelated points are:
939* He and Kirby are not the only Kirbies in existence, as evidenced by Keeby and all of those other mini-game Kirbies.
940* Copying is not a skill unique to the Kirby species: the TAC can also copy.
941
942[[WMG:Kirby caused Dedede to pull a FaceHeelTurn.]]
943The proof is in ''Webcomic/BrawlInTheFamily''. The reason Kirby keeps taking down Dedede is for two possible reasons: A. Kirby never lived it down, or B. Kirby thinks DefeatEqualsFriendship.
944* ''Brawl in the Family'' isn't canon. Either that, or maybe that it's [[spoiler:TheStinger of the Extra Game in ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamLand'']].
945
946[[WMG:The real origin of Kirby, Meta Knight, and Dedede]]
947A combination of several [=WMGs=] above and it makes a lot of sense.
948There was once a peaceful race of odd creatures called the Waddle Dees. Dark Matter had existed for even longer. One day a fragment of Dark Matter drifted down to the pop star and fused with a Waddle Dee. The next thing he knew, he woke up, he could think in a whole new way, and he had a mouth. With that mouth came a crippling hunger that could only be satisfied by the nearest waddle dees. Interestingly, after eating a Waddle Doo, he got the power of it. He practiced his copy power and named himself Dedede. He decided with his superior brain he could rule the Waddle Dee race.
949
950Years later King Dedede had easily taken over the planet. But as he got older, it got harder to use his power. When he hit puberty, he couldn't do it anymore. He made sure he had the hammer power, his favorite, before that happened. Right around that time, another piece of Dark Matter fell upon a Waddle Dee. He eventually realized how different he was and thinking he was a freak, ran away. He passed the lonely days by practicing the sword ability. People who saw glimpses of him called him "Meta Knight"
951
952Soon after Meta Knight hit puberty, keeping the sword ability, King Dedede had expanded his rule across the solar system. And yet another piece of Dark Matter fused with a Waddle Dee. This one was not shy and ate whatever it wanted. King Dedede wanted this "Kirby" (Named by Pop star inhabitants) destroyed and order restored because, being one himself, he knew how powerful that species is.
953
954[[WMG:In relation to a couple of theories above about how Kirby doesn't kill enemies he sucks in,...]]
955...this is perfectly true and there is a perfectly good reason for this. As detailed by those theories, when you inhale an enemy and then walk offscreen, it reappears, even if you haven't swallowed them yet, meaning you can take them out and have two of them. This would indicate that what is in Kirby's mouth is not the actual enemy, merely a shell containing their power. Obviously, the moment they are sucked in, they start to re-coalesce, not having been dead for an instant. And the reason for this: it's a dream! It seems to make sense that ''Dream''land would follow ''dream'' logic, and, [[Literature/{{Discworld}} just as there's no death in a child's world]], there's no death in Dreamland, hence why you can kill Kracko or Whispy Woods as many times as you like and they can still come back. At best, Kirby's just mildly inconveniencing them, and getting them out of his way until he can get past them. Oh, and before anyone mentions [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Freddy Krueger]], remember that a) the ability to kill people in dreams seems to be a unique ability he possesses, and the above evidence that Kirby doesn't kill his enemies shows he doesn't have this ability, and b) Kirby could kick Freddy's arse. Just trust me on this one.
956
957[[WMG:Kirby and friends/enemies know they're in a video game.]]
958That's why no one's particularly fazed at Kirby eating thousands of Waddle Dees/Knuckle Joes/Wheelies/what-have-you, since they know they'll just come back to life after Kirby leaves the screen.
959
960[[WMG:Kirby needs to eat, otherwise he'd die.]]
961
962The anime suggest an alternate dimension, right? However, it also suggests a black hole as well, which is far more likely (black holes absorb matter and add it to their own; Kirby absorbs enemy matter and adds their power to his, allowing him to copy them). If he had a black hole in him, then it would constantly be stripping away his matter. It's been happening all his life, so Kirby doesn't notice. He inhales enemies to give the black hole something else to destroy. This explains his reaction to his cake getting stolen; he was probably at a critical state and was hanging on by a thread. Makes you "no-copy-abilities" players regret your play methods, doesn't it?
963* So basically he's forced to devour innocents to save himself from default? That would explain the whole '[[DisproportionateRetribution get in my way, I eat you]]' thing in the games. What happens if the black hole destroys him, or someone finally ''actually'' defeats him? Does it continue with the rest around it? Meaning, any land Kirby decides to live in is screwed whether he lives or dies, via residents being constantly eaten to satiate the literal black hole or via the black hole getting out of hand... Crap, that's scary. Wouldn't explain Meta Knight, though.
964** Most likely, Meta Knight's use of Galaxia keeps the black hole under control. Maybe that's why he keeps trying to stop Kirby; he's trying to keep Dreamland safe. Also, black holes dissipate if small enough.
965*** Also, the black hole can be destroyed, but only when Kirby gains access to every ability at once. Cue Milky Way Wishes. This may also explain Kirby going on a rampage after a cake got stolen...
966
967[[WMG:Galacta Knight wasn't immediately at full power when he was unsealed]]
968He was weakened from his time spent in his crystal prison. Maybe he'll be a major antagonist later when he finally gets back to full power.
969* Semi-confirmed. It's at least been confirmed that he's still alive, as of Return to Dreamland, but whether he will ever be more than a miniboss like [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime a certain dark side of a legendary hero]] remains to be seen.
970
971[[WMG:Meta Knight's mask is his equivalent of Kirby's copy hats.]]
972
973He flees when you break it because you just knocked his copy ability away. Since Kirby doesn't summon enemies or stars or anything to inhale, the fight is now unwinnable for him, and so he retreats.
974
975[[WMG:Bandana Waddle Dee is the same Waddle Dee from ''64''.]]
976
977Because why not?
978* That could be his origin as a stand-out of his kind, actually. He would have had more adventure time with Dedede than a normal Waddle Dee by then.
979
980[[WMG:Kirby is actually [[spoiler:a piece of Dark Matter]].]]
981
982Probably just me thinking too much but it really makes sense in a way. First off in the first Kirby game (and in Spring Breeze) it's implied that Kirby apparently came out of nowhere. The game literally says that he's the hero of Dreamland and that some residents call him Kirby. Note the fact that "some" residents call him Kirby. As if no one knew about Kirby and only know him as the 'Hero of Dreamland'. Seems like a normal hero with unknown story, right?
983
984That is until the Eldritch Abominations show up. For such a cute-looking game, why would monsters like Zero/Zero-Two, Nightmare, and Drawcia show up? And according to the Japanese manuals it seems that apparently nearly all the other villians of the Kirby series were involved with Zero/Zero-Two somehow and Zero/Zero-Two is the main Big Bad. Now think about how it seems that Zero/Zero-Two has a personal vendetta with Kirby as the villians that were involved with Dark Matter/Zero seem to try to kill Kirby themselves, as if trying to avenge their leader. Now what would a giant eyeball demon have against a cute pink alien?
985
986The answer is simple. Kirby [[spoiler:was created by Zero/Zero-Two and is techinically a Dark Matter agent]]. Zero/Zero-Two used a race that was unknown to the rest of the galaxy and [[spoiler:based Kirby on that race piece]]. Kirby [[spoiler:was created to trick planets into thinking that Kirby was a nice harmless alien while he secretly conquering the planet for Zero/Zero-Two]]. However, this backfired as Kirby, either not interested [[spoiler: in conquering planets]] or liked [[spoiler:his target planet]], which, in this case, is Pop Star, [[spoiler:so much that he didn't want to have it under Zero/Zero-Two's rule]]. Zero/Zero-Two didn't react well when learning that one of his creations had disobeyed him and actually saved the target planet from Dark Matter.
987
988After Zero/Zero-Two's defeat, Kirby, [[spoiler:betraying his original purpose]], is Dreamland's, and extently Pop Star's, main source of protection, as if to show [[spoiler:that he will never give in to Zero/Zero-Two's control]].
989
990* That's roughly the same as my theory on why Gooey a friendly Dark Matter, and why he vanished after Dreamland 3.
991
992[[WMG:PETA will complain about how Kirby]]
993They've already done it to [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]] and Franchise/{{Pokemon}}. They're probably gonna start complaining about how Kirby encourages kids to eat animals.

995[[WMG:Kirby is an alternate Galactus.]]
996Like Galactus, Kirby is a God of Hunger that came into being when the last survivor of the previous universe merged with it. Unlike Galactus, however, this survivor was a candy-loving child. Much like Galactus, Kirby has an unimaginable hunger, but the SugarBowl provides more than enough candy to prevent him eating the planet(of course [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Kirby could've eaten planets before going to Popstar]]). Both of their true apperances are hinted to be a star, which explains why Kirby and stars are associated with them. It also goes to explain why Kirby [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu pwns cosmic horrors on a daily basis]]-[[CosmicEntity he's one himself.]]
997
998[[WMG:Miracle Matter is the RandomNumberGod.]]
999
1000It's a giant evil d20 and [[NintendoHard stupidly]] [[ThatOneBoss difficult]], what do YOU think?
1001* Of course, the die is a common symbol of the RandomNumberGod.
1002* If there is a particular power you want, you will not get it because the RandomNumberGod saw what you were thinking.
1003
1004[[WMG:Every final/secret boss is Marx in some shape or form.]]
1005Think about it. Marx's wish to NOVA was that they became the Ruler of Popstar. This carrys out and is cemented through time and space until the wish is fulfilled. Each re-incarnation eventually shatters more and more of him until he becomes the trope of AndIMustScream.
1006
1007Marx: Obvious first stage.
1008Marx Soul: Obvious second stage. Body destroyed.
1009Necrodeus: Third incarnation. Body destroyed.
1010Nightmare: Fourth incarnation. Body destroyed.
1011Magolor: Fifth incarnation. Split into two entities, original destroyed.

1015[[WMG:Stupid timeline hypothesis (current/spoilers as of Triple Deluxe)]]
1016I decided to do this, yeah, because why not? Non-platformers will not be included since they usually have really no plot with King Dedede as the villain, which doesn't fit in with the other games at ''all''. Reasons for placement in the timeline will also be listed.
1017
1018''Amazing Mirror'': Earliest in the timeline. Kirby meets Meta Knight for the first time and doesn't really know who he is yet, which is why he's so easily tricked (presumably) by Dark Meta Knight. Additionally, Dark Mete Knight's sword slash at the beginning of the game is how the other three colored Kirbies in later multiplayer games are created in the first place. Kirby has not met King Dedede yet. Also, Meta Knight does not yet have the Meta-Knights by his side, and begins to gather them after this.
1019
1020''Triple Deluxe'': Kirby meets Dedede for the first time in this game, and has not yet come into conflict with him. He sees an innocent life, and wants to protect it because he's such a friendly guy. Later, King Dedede returns to explore Floralia and accidentally meets Dark Meta Knight, who was not actually destroyed at the end of ''Amazing Mirror''. Since Dark Mind was defeated in ''Amazing Mirror'', the evil was purged from the Mirror World, so Dark Meta Knight decided to conquer Dream Land instead, but is defeated. Since Dark Meta Knight was badly injured in ''Amazing Mirror'', he is bloody in this game. Additionally, Dedede destroys the mirror at the end, permanently cutting off contact with the Mirror World.
1021
1022''Dream Land 2'': The Dark Matter in this game is a scout, who has come to Pop Star to see how hard it would be to conquer. It possesses King Dedede, who is still allied with Kirby, in a bid to take over Dream Land. It fails, reporting back to the Hyper Zone (the central Dark Matter cloud) and 0 about the status of the planet. Additionally, Kirby becomes acquainted with the Animal Friends and Gooey, who informs him about Dark Matter, here.
1023
1024''Dream Land 3'': Since one Dark Matter proved too weak to conquer the planet, the entire Hyper Zone comes to Pop Star and covers it in darkness, and also possesses many residents of the planet. Kirby defeats them with the power of love, and then confronts 0, who reveals itself for the first time. It is killed as well, being a fully mortal and independent being, unlike Dark Matter. After 0 is killed, the Hyper Zone begins to dissipate without a leader and Dark Matter is not heard from for a while.
1025
1026''Crystal Shards'': Dark Matter reappears, now led by the mysteriously resurrected 02 in Dark Star, a new Hyper Zone even larger than before due to the undead 02's more powerful creation capability. It avoids invading Pop Star, realizing now that such a thing would be impossible, and invades Ripple Star instead. However, Ribbon escapes, chased to Pop Star by Dark Matter. The two team up with several others (including King Dedede, still allied with Kirby), and Dark Matter has a limited presence on Pop Star this time. Kirby eventually travels to Dark Star and destroys 02 (possibly resurrected by some method involving Gooey, considering Gooey's disappearance and 02's face upon appearing), preventing the Hyper Zone from ever returning as a coherent entity.
1027
1028''Kirby vs. Sectonia Soul Phase 1'': Queen Sectonia, grasping for any chance to stay alive, eats four Miracle Fruits to get one last chance to defeat Kirby. Of course, she fails, sending her into a coma until after the events of the New Challenge Stages.
1029
1030''Dyna Blade'': Not a lot to say here. Honestly, this could be any time before Revenge of Meta Knight. Kirby becomes friends with Dyna Blade at the end of this.
1031
1032''The Great Cave Offensive'': Kirby falls into a cave with TREASURE! Oh boy. Really story driven, yeah.
1033
1034''Gourmet Race'': King Dedede challenges Kirby to a friendly race. However, upon losing, the greedy bastard starts to get angry and plots revenge against Kirby.
1035
1036''Dream Land/Spring Breeze'': It's safe to assume that these two represent the same events. King Dedede, using his nebulous and undefined political power, steals all the food from the citizens of Dream Land in an attempt to get back at Kirby for beating him in Gourmet Race. Kirby goes to defeat Dedede and succeeds, sparking a continual distrust between the two that affects all future encounters.
1037
1038''Revenge of the King'': Angry again at being beaten by Kirby, Dedede plots revenge against Kirby, first by poisoning the plants of Green Greens (where Kirby lives, presumably), transforming it into Purple Plants. Kirby goes to defeat him again. As seen in the final stage, Dedede still holds a lot of respect for Kirby even when greedy and irrational. He has also appointed the Bandanna Waddle Dee as his senior advisor (or something like that) by this point, and now employs the EX mini-bosses.
1039
1040''Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land'': Obviously the same events. The Star Rod is gone, and King Dedede has stolen it. After being antagonized by Dedede repeatedly, Kirby assumes that this is another of Dedede's revenge plots. Of course, it turns out to be a measure against Nightmare taking over Dream Land. Kirby handily defeats Nightmare and saves Dream Land again. Additionally, Meta Knight appears in this game and appears to be training Kirby in some way. Fed up with Dedede's ridiculous revenge antics, and now sporting a personal army, he becomes close enough to the king to be given a Star Rod piece, which of course brings him into conflict with Kirby and gives them a reason to fight. He does this to ensure that Dedede is finally defeated by Kirby for real, to the point that Meta Knight can instate a more stable government.
1041
1042''Revenge of Meta Knight'': This is Meta Knight's revenge against Dedede, not Kirby, despite what one might assume. After Kirby fails to depose King Dedede in Nightmare in Dream Land, Meta Knight decides to take matters into his own hands. However, Kirby misinterprets this as a threat against Dream Land in general and destroys the Halberd. Meta Knight, stoic as ever, knows that he cannot defeat Kirby but also knows that Kirby is not evil, so he does not hold any sort of grudge. After being defeated, the remaining Meta-Knights disband and spread across Pop Star's system, thereby appearing in Milky Way Wishes.
1043
1044''Canvas Curse'': Drawcia, who may or may not be related to Dark Matter in some way, takes over Dream Land. After being killed, her soul immediately takes revenge against Kirby, completely transforming Dream Land into a world of paint. However, Kirby defeats her and restores peace… again.
1045
1046''Epic Yarn'': Patch Land may or may not be the future state of the Mirror World after it was taken over by Yin-Yarn. If so, Prince Fluff is Shadow Kirby under a different name and Yin-Yarn is the Mirror version of Drawcia. Kirby defeats Yin-Yarn and restores peace to both worlds, as usual.
1047
1048''Milky Way Wishes'': Marx is probably from Halcandra (Magolor's planet), not Pop Star. He is already familiar from Kirby, who has become well-known around the galaxy for being a badass. As such, he knows that Kirby will be willing to help him if peace in the galaxy is on the line, so he gets the sun and moon to fight and then sends Kirby to wake up NOVA. Citizens of Pop Star are unfamiliar with NOVA and the other Fountains of Dreams, but Marx knows about all of them since they were ''probably'' build on Halcandra. Kirby successfully summons NOVA, who he is forced to destroy after being betrayed by Marx. He then defeats Marx, and the resulting impact completely obliterates NOVA.
1049
1050Kirby vs. Marx Soul: Soon after being defeated, Marx uses the last of his power to draw in the remaining pieces of NOVA using an ancient Halcandran magic technique and becomes Marx Soul. Marx Soul is much more powerful than his original form and he transports himself and Kirby to a pocket universe of his own creation where no one will hear Kirby's screams. Kirby defeats Marx Soul, and, ironically, no one hears Marx Soul's ear-piercing scream as he dies. The pocket universe collapses and Kirby goes home. (It's safe to assume that all other Arena events are non-canon except possibly Triple Deluxe's True Arena final boss, Sectonia Soul).
1051
1052''Squeak Squad'': Kirby and Dedede are still not on good terms, so when Kirby gets ''really'' hungry and his cake is stolen, he assumes that Dedede did it in his blind fury. Kirby beats up Dedede, who is not heard from for the rest of the game, as the Squeaks appear with what Kirby believes to be his cake. Kirby follows the Squeaks and defeats them, but the chest is suddenly stolen by Meta Knight, who believes it contains the ruler of the underworld, and now takes residence in the sunken Halberd. After Kirby reclaims the chest, the Squeaks steal it again and release Dark Nebula, who is not actually the ruler of the underworld, but rather one of the last remaining Dark Matter entities, which Meta Knight is completely unfamiliar with. Kirby defeats Dark Nebula, likely eliminating Dark Matter completely, and becomes friends with the Squeaks. The cake is also returned to him by the Squeaks.
1053
1054''Meta Knightmare Ultra'': This is a rigorous training session undertaken by Meta Knight. After training all across Pop Star, including building a replica of the Halberd using the help of his few remaining henchmen, he decides to revive NOVA and gathers the stars from the Fountains of Dream, successfully summoning NOVA. He wishes for a fight with the greatest warrior in the galaxy, and gets Galacta Knight. Meta Knight successfully defeats him. His lifelong dreams fulfilled, Meta Knights settles down in Cookie Country with a good book.
1055
1056''Return to Dream Land'': ''Immediately'' follows Squeak Squad. While Kirby is trying to find a good place to eat his cake, King Dedede and Bandanna Waddle Dee appear and attempt to take it from him out of revenge for randomly beating up Dedede last time. At that moment, the Lor Starcutter crashes on Pop Star. Kirby and Dedede temporarily reconcile their differences to go figure out what's happening. Meta Knight joins the group as well. Magolor heard about Kirby from Marx and crashed there on purpose in attempt to martyr himself and gain ultimate power. Eventually, Kirby repairs the Starcutter and travels with Magolor to Halcandra, where Kirby defeats Landia. Magolor then obtains the Master Crown, which begins to take control of him using its malevolent power. Kirby and friends defeat Magolor with the help of Landia. When Magolor is defeated, however, the Crown takes complete control of Magolor's soul and fights Kirby again. Kirby, however, takes out Magolor Soul and restores peace to the galaxy once again.
1057
1058''Kirby vs. Sectonia Soul Phase 2'': Sectonia, waking up from her coma, went insane after having to re-live her death over and over again, tries a last ditch attempt to kill Kirby once and for all by ripping her head and wings off of the Dreamstalk for one last battle. Sectonia loses, and is now dead for good.
1059
1060Please comment with any criticism or inconsistencies you notice.
1061** Probably a lot of inconsistencies but I would put Kirby vs sectonia part 2 near part one where it's Kirby runs around and eats people [[ForTheEvulz for]] [[RonTheDeathEater shits and giggles.]] and checks on sectonia
1062*** What about ''Planet Robobot''? Where does it take place in the timeline? Maybe after ''64''?
1063
1064[[WMG:''Kirby Mass Attack'' is a DolledUpInstallment.]]
1065''Mass Attack,'' similar to ''Epic Yarn,'' played very differently from other Kirby games, in the sense that they did not involve Kirby copying powers, or flying. Now, which of Nintendo's franchises would normally involve a lot of teamwork?
1066
1067''Pikmin''. What if ''Mass Attack'' was originally an attempt at a handheld ''Pikmin'' game?
1068
1069[[WMG:King Dedede stole Dream Land's food for political power.]]
1070In Kirby's Dream Land, King Dedede steals all of Dream Land's food, along with the Sparkling Star that is needed to harvest food. If he did this solely out of greed, why would King Dedede need to prevent them from harvesting more food? Perhaps because he didn't have any real political authority, and he needed some leverage to force the inhabitants of Dream Land to submit to his rule, or else they would all starve. That's why this act is so out of character for the otherwise well-meaning king; he just wanted to have more power to effectively run Dream Land.
1071
1072[[WMG:Kirby is such a bad singer because when he sings...]]
1073He's actually EXHALING. [[RunningGag Not because he's an]] EldritchAbomination [[RunningGag or anything like that.]]
1074
1075[[WMG:Every villain represents a phobia.]]
1076As seen in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNunXhyRu00 this]] video. Makes sense, because the heroes represent dreams and the villains represent nightmares. Here are some villains and the phobias they embody:
1077* Dark Matter: Achluophobia (fear of darkness)
1078* Marx: Coulrophobia (fear of clowns), Chiroptophobia (fear of bats), Xenophobia (fear of strangers)
1079* Necrodeus: Thanatophobia (fear of death), Coulrophobia
1080* [[spoiler:Magolor]]: Xenophobia
1081* Nightmare: Oneirophobia (fear of dreams)
1082* Drawcia: Chromatophobia (fear of colors), Wiccaphobia (fear of witchcraft), Phasmophobia (fear of ghosts)
1083To add a few more to the original WMG:
1084* Queen Sectonia: Entomophobia (fear of bugs), more specifically Spheksophobia (fear of wasps), or [[spoiler:Anthophobia (Fear of Flowers)]]
1085* Haltmann: Mechanophobia (fear of machines), Plutophobia (fear of wealth), or [[spoiler:Thanatophobia (fear of death)]]
1086* Lord Hyness: Heirophobia (fear of sacred objects or people)
1087* Void Termina: Theophobia (fear of God) and/or [[spoiler:Autophobia (fear of yourself)]]
1088* [[spoiler: Fecto Forgo]]: Claustrophobia (fear of being confined), Diokophobia (fear of being chased), [[spoiler: Xenophobia (fear of aliens), or Vorarephobia (fear of being eaten)]]
1089
1090[[WMG:Shiver Star is the result of the Haltmann Works Company experimenting.]]
1091
1092Shiver Star in ''Kirby 64'' is a frozen, desolate wasteland populated only by strange creatures, robots and the infamous factory and it's commonly held that Shiver Star is in fact, a post-apocalypse Earth in the future explaining the lack of humans. As the Haltmann Works Company mechanises Dream Land and its inhabitants in ''VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot'', might they just be repeating what they did to Shiver Star as part of their business plans? Except Shiver Star didn't have a hero to save them...
1093* As it is stated in ''VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot'' how the Haltmann Works Company has analysed the universe's most advanced civilisations for their business plans, it doesn't seem a far stretch to say that they also visited Rock Star and took ideas from there from the big spaceship-like setting in one level to Pix, which they then redesigned as the Holo Defence API. Unless of course, they created Pix first...
1094
1095[[WMG:There will be a SpinOff where you live in Kirby's [[StomachOfHolding Stomach]] [[PocketDimension Dimension]] from ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa''.]]
1096Come on, who wouldn't want to play as a Waddle Dee surviving in the dimension?
1097
1098[[WMG:''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar'' was AllJustADream of Kirby's.]]
1099I mean, how else would you explain Meta Knight being [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness OOC]] in ''Revenge of Meta Knight'', and ''Spring Breeze'' being a shorter version of ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamLand''? Not to mention the ending to ''Milky Way Wishes'' shows Kirby sleeping in his bed, snoring.
1100
1101[[WMG:Dedede stole all of the food in Dreamland to have a [[GoKartingWithBowser Gourmet Race with Kirby]].]]
1102Dedede never really wanted to fight Kirby in the beginning, just have a friendly eating contest. Stealing all the food in Dreamland was too evil though, and Kirby had to stop Dedede and get the food back. Realizing his actions were too harsh, he toned down on the crazy plots, with the worst thing since the first game (Not counting the Anime) is hold a grudge match with Kirby in Revenge Of the King. He later got to have his friendly contest, and continues to have a (Mostly) sporting rivalry with the Pink Puff.
1103
1104[[WMG:Everyone on Dreamland is MadeOfExplodium.]]
1105Whenever anybody dies, they explode in some way, shape, or form. The Waddle Dees/Doos, The bosses, even Kirby.
1106
1107[[WMG:The next game will have a mode where you can play as a Helper or Bandana Dee and play through the story. ]]
1108Come on! There were extra modes for [[VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe Dedede]] and [[VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot Meta Knight]]. He's the last playable character from VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamland. It makes so much sense!
1109* ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'' has a mode called "Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!" which lets you play as both helpers ''and'' Bandana Waddle Dee. (Oh, and Meta Knight and Dedede as well.)
1110
1111[[WMG:Kracko is related to Dark Matter.]]
1112Kracko's a white cloud (most of the time) with yellow spikes. Dark Matter is a black cloud-thingy with orange petals. Both also has one eye each. Sensing a pattern here?
1113
1114[[WMG:Batamon from ''Dream Land 3'' are all drawings of Kirby by Ado (Adeleine) come to life.]]
1115Both debut in ''Dream Land 3'', and despite the strong resemblance to Kirby, Batamon exhibit none of his unique abilities, look slightly different, and never appear after ''[=KDL3=]''.
1116As shown in ''Kirby's Adventure'', a drawing of Kirby made during Paint Roller's boss fight could only walk, and gave no ability when inhaled, so the same principle may apply here.
1117The slight difference in appearance may be due to Ado drawing Kirby imperfectly or in her own style, or simply for the sake of making Kirby's sprite distinct during gameplay.
1118
1119[[WMG:The next Kirby villain will be a SerialKiller.]]
1120Given the gradually darkening tones of Kirby games ([[VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe a deranged monarch]], [[VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot a company president driven insane from grief over losing his daughter]], [[spoiler:[[VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies and a completely insane cultist seeking to revive a hellish being of darkness]]]], it's a natural progression that the next game's villain could just be a sociopathic murderer.
1121* We didn't get a serial murderer, but what we ''did'' get was [[spoiler:[[VideoGame/KirbyAndTheForgottenLand a destructive alien that uses both mind control and slavery to further their goals]]]].
1122
1123[[WMG:One of the next games will feature an EldritchAbomination with a soul theme that could tie into the Soul bonus bosses]]
1124The four human needs/health types are physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Aka body, mind, heart and soul. Dark '''Matter''' represents physical/body, Dark '''Mind''' represents mental/mind and Void Termina represents emotional/heart (lots of WickedHeartSymbol motifs). There's yet to be an overarching Soul boss in the vein of Dark Matter/Mind/VT and it could possibly be the reason and empowering being behind all the Soul bosses.
1125
1126[[WMG:At some point, Kirby's soul might be attempted to be absorbed by [[spoiler:the butterfly that forms Morpho Knight.]]]]
1127If its attempt succeeds, a BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind type of battle may occur to allow Kirby to survive.
1128
1129[[WMG:Morpho Knight will be on the receiving end of the BaitAndSwitchBoss trope]]
1130Considering that Morpho Knight replaced an overused boss archetype both times it appeared[[labelnote:Explanation *SPOILERS*]]Galacta Knight in Star Allies and Soul bosses in Forgotten Land[[/labelnote]], it seems like the logical conclusion that eventually in a future game he'll appear as the apparent OptionalBoss who is an expy of Meta Knight, [[OncePerEpisode which has been a mainstay feature since Super Star Ultra much like Soul bosses]], only to be replaced with a completely new boss archetype or an UnexpectedCharacter.
1131
1132[[WMG:Kirby is a FormerTeenRebel]]
1133Given that the AmericanKirbyIsHardcore trope has been phased out eventually, it's not stretching too much to assume this was just a phase for Kirby. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqVVG4FCq7w He even started a bar fight once]], which is very OutOfCharacter for the Kirby we know.
1134
1135[[WMG:If we get a Kirby game with the Ancients as the antagonists, it’ll reveal that Adeleine essentially defected from her race.]]
1136The series has a trend of having their ancient powerful beings having one defector of their species and considering the breadcrumbs Forgotten Land and the 30th anniversary concert left it seems like Adeleine is the one for the ancients.
1137* Gooey is A Dark Matter Reject who helped Kirby stop his own leader in Dream land 3.
1138* Elflin is a part of Elflis who broke away and eventually absorbed Chaos Elflis.
1139* Kirby himself is heavily implied to be a reincarnation of Void Termina who defies the idea of being a god of destruction and just wants to live a life of eating food and making friends.
1140
1141Seeing this trend we can probably assume that if the ancients are the antagonists of a future Kirby game, Adeleine will probably stick by her friends side no matter what.
1142
1143[[WMG: HAL Labs had the lore mapped out since the beginning]]
1144This is more of a meta take, but I feel like Hal Labs has been mapping out the Kirby lore since the the first few games, or at least since Dream Land 3. For instance, Gooey is said to be a piece of Dark Matter that [[HeelFaceTurn turned good]], how exactly that happened is never shown, but what ''is'' shown is that Gooey, a blob of not-so-Dark Matter, can use copy abilities, just like Kirby. So already, decades before Void made its debut, there was already a sort of vague connection between Kirby and the Dark Matter, we just didn’t think much of it since Gooey was basically just a Luigi-type character in that game. Marx Soul from Super Star Ultra is another example of this foreshadowing, the description says that he absorbed ''a'' Nova’s power, not ''the'' Nova’s power or even just Nova’s power, 8 years before Star Dream came along to show that there was in fact more than one Galactic Nova, and Magolor calls Novas clockwork stars. [=StarS=], plural, 5 years before Planet Robobot came out. Then there’s the whole “Ancients” idea that’s been floating around since Return to Dreamland. 11 years before that in Kirby 64, we have Shiver Star, a frozen over planet that, even ignoring the similarities to Earth, was clearly inhabited at some point and abandoned, just like Egg Engines from Return to Dreamland, and just like the New World from Forgotten Land, both of which are places that were, or are thought to have been, inhabited by the Ancients. I don’t HAL Labs is just making up the lore as they go, they are deliberately setting up plot threads with each new game, leaving intentional plot holes, so that a later game can come in and fill the gaps.
1145
1146[[WMG: A future installment will involve time travel]]
1147This will allow to revisit old Kirby games, but in modernized version.
1148
1149[[WMG: Another Kirby Timeline Theory]]
1150I think this is the best possible timeline for the series.
1151* Kirby's Dreamland. This is when Kirby first shows up in Dream Land.
1152* Kirby's Dreamland 2. This makes life easier, since we don't have to question where Meta Knight is.
1153* Kirby's Dreamland 3.
1154* Kirby 64.
1155* Kirby's Adventure. Meta Knight first arrives in Dream Land.
1156* Dynablade. This is the most convienient time for it.
1157* Revenge of Meta Knight.
1158* Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. This could be interchangable with RoMK, honestly.
1159* Kirby Squeak Squad. The Halberd needs to be back in the air for Triple Deluxe.
1160* Kirby Mass Attack. Unlike every other spinoff, this actually has to be in this specific spot.
1161* Revenge of the King: And yes, that includes the Dedede final boss games being after this one. As judging by Battle Royale, it is perfectly in character for Dedede to continue being an enemy on occassion.
1162* Milky Way Wishes.
1163* (Meta Knightmare Ultra. This is dubiously canon, but has to occur concurrently.)
1164* Kirby Triple Deluxe. Canonically occurs immediately after Milky Way Wishes, hence why RotK happens before it.
1165* (Dededetour. Occurs after Triple Deluxe. Secontia Soul isn't canon at all.)
1166* (Marx Soul. Dubcanon.)
1167* Kirby's Return to Dream Land. Main mode then epilogue. Magolor Soul is the canon version of the fight.
1168* Galacta Knight is fought by another timeline's Kirby.
1169* Team Kirby Clash, apparently.
1170* Kirby Planet Robobot.
1171* Meta Knightmare Returns. This takes place in another timeline. Both Haltman and Susie are dead here.
1172* The True Arena. Yet another timeline.
1173* Kirby Star Allies. Everyone is back. Even Marx, somehow.
1174* Guest Star happens in another timeline. Maybe. Honestly not quite sure if this is canon or not.
1175* Heroes in Another Dimension.
1176* Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Everything here is actually in order and in the same timeline!
1177
1178[[WMG: The next game will feature humans.]]
1179
1180Forgotten Land already hints about their existence, assuming the inhabitants of the New World really are humans, and implies that they are still out there among the stars. They might possibly serve as the villains.
