2	She sent him on a mission to get Claude away so she could help set up the ransom because she knew Miguel did not actually kill Kenji.
3	* Impossible. Asuka died even before the game ended and it was obviously Catalina, not Claude.

5	She was talking to distract him. He was shaking his head, facing away from her and she killed him. She stopped talking to pull the trigger. The whole game was an EvilPlan by Maria to get rid of all of her enemies.
6	* Impossible. The player is free to do as he/she pleases after the "ending" cutscene.

8	Similar to above, but Claude, after all he went through the game, shoots Maria to put an end to her. He shoots and kills her and moves on with his life with most of the gangs wanting him dead.

10	Yet again, similar to the above [=WMGs=], Claude felt guilty about all of the murder he had committed at the end of the game and decided that he'd only let one more be added to his body count.
11	* Or because he couldn't stand being stuck with Maria and her endless droning but knew there was no other way to get rid of her, bar shooting her, but he couldn't bring himself to shoot a woman, a general principle he holds which he only made a single exception for in Catalina's case because...well, come on, that b*tch seriously asked for it!
12	* However, Claude becomes controllable after the credits, suggesting he never shot himself.** He did--the ambulances revived him as if he was another pedestrian.

14	You know the last time we saw Maria? Y'know, before she was "kidnapped" by Catalina? She was torturing Miguel, the Colombian mob boss, with Asuka, the Yakuza mob boss, to get dirt on Catalina's SPANK operation. After this appearance, Maria kills both Miguel and Asuka, and "kidnaps" Maria. Seems like convenient timing? Nope, Maria was TheMole all along, and was helping Catalina to wipe out her remaining criminal competition in Liberty City. Either that, or [[KlingonPromotion she took Salvatore Leone's position in Catalina's drug trade]] [[YouAreInCommandNow after Claude capped him.]] Either way, the "kidnapping" was all staged to lure Claude into a trap. Maria kept up the ruse after Claude blew Catalina out of the sky to save temporarily save her hide, but Claude, even being ambiguously DumbMuscle for any mob boss that asked him to do a favor, was smart enough to put two and two together, and made sure Maria was RewardedAsATraitorDeserves.

16	[[WMG:Claude doesn't speak because he's French and doesn't speak English.]]
17	Claude isn't mute. When he's injured he grunts and groans in pain. He is capable of producing sound, but he never speaks. At the same time, he sports a distinctly French name and his origins are never explored. It could be that he's a Frenchman who just doesn't speak English (but understands it) and thus doesn't talk to other characters because he doesn't know how to, since they all speak English.
18	* Unlikely. Not being fluent in the dominant language is not a reason for remaining completely silent, and remember, he never says anything to himself, in French or otherwise. It could be that he has some kind of expressive aphasia, though; he might simply not be able to produce speech, because of a brain damage. Another possibility is selective mutism or some other social disorder (he does look pretty awkward in a few social interactions, as when he was on the receiving end of a hug in ''San Andreas'').

21	Claude spotted a Colombian member who survived the incident and finished him off Maria stopped talking because the gunshot startled her. It is quite possible, given the Cartel has no trouble getting around the area.

25	* He fled town with the Old Oriental Gentleman during the mission "Decoy". Claude doesn't know this, which is why he turns up at the Love Media Building for "Love's Disappearance".

28	First of all, Salvatore Leone is portrayed as the DiscOneFinalBoss of ''GTA III'', but he's hardly a tertiary antagonist. As in, he doesn't antagonist the player during the first part of the game. The player spends the entire first chapter working for his organization and hierarchy, and by all account each high ranking member of the Leone family (Salvatore included) openly comment on how useful and reliable Claude is. The turning point was a combination of Salvatore's paranoia, and uneasy marriage with Maria due to her cheating. In which he acted on irrational emotion towards what he viewed as a betrayal against him IN THE VERY FINAL MISSION of the first island. If it hadn't been for Maria opening her mouth and flat out lying about her and Claude, nothing would have happened. In fact, the mafia aren't even hostile to Claude until he kills Salvatore at the start of the second island, which storyline wise lasts one mission after and then you never hear of them again. It would make more sense for the antagonist to be an enemy of the Leone family Claude was working for, like one of the Forelli brothers, or one of the Triad warlords.

30	Then there's Miguel, who only seems to be deemed an antagonist due to him co-leading the Colombian Cartel. Presumably being in the cartel that's hostile to Claude from the very start, due to Catalina's betrayal of him, he would know about Claude and likely supports Catalina's hostility to him as well as the rest of his gang in some way. But HE DOESN'T ANTAGONIZE CLAUDE. If anything, he seems pretty terrified of him when they (presumably) first meet, and it becomes clear that he's just another victim of Catalina's manipulation. If being TheDragon to the actual main antagonist is enough to automatically warrant the status of secondary antagonist, then why isn't the Forelli Capo the secondary antagonist of ''Vice City''? Why isn't Molly Schultz the secondary antagonist of ''GTA V''? Cases like Ryder and Eddie Pulaski in ''San Andreas'' are different, in the sense that they do actual serve a role that antagonizes the player. But Miguel is pretty, well, pathetic. What they could have done instead, is have Miguel be a far more aggressive character, both in the game and Claude's backstory, and make him serve as the tertiary antagonist that dies in Bomb Da Base.

32	Catalina of course is antagonistic to the bone, but I'd pin her as the secondary antagonist rather than the first, largely because she doesn't really do a good enough job at causing the player shit throughout the entire game. That title instead goes to [[spoiler:Maria]]. After all, [[spoiler:she IS the reason Salvatore betrayed you AND the reason you get exiled from Portland. And, probably, why the Leone had search parties on Staunton temporarily looking for you. It's likely Claude only rescued Maria in the last mission because he wanted the honor and privilege of killing her himself. Plus, given the fact that she was willing to turn on the Leones, it's entirely probable she'd turn on the Yakuza and Claude too, and there's always the possibility that Catalina AND Maria were the ones who made a deal and [[LesYay faked the whole kidnapping]]]].

35	...but he's also one of the playable characters in [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAuto GTA 1]]. This would make him the PlayerCharacter of the first three original [=GTA=]s, thus making it his own trilogy. That, and [=GTA1=]'s three available maps include both Liberty City ''and'' San Andreas, both of which he's been in before. Lord only knows what he's doing in the HD era...

37	Maria didn't like Claude at first. She lied to Salvatore about them being a couple, hoping he'll kill Claude. Suddenly she felt guilty and decided to warn you about the bomb in the car.

40	After it is replaced, the radio says that "engineers had been working around the clock to fix the bridge", even though no workers are seen even right before it is replaced as you drive a boat under it. So it was built elsewhere and flown in. That's why there are no working helicopters - they were all in use! Then again it doesn't explain why are there static chopper models at Francis International Airport.
