The reason why she is never shown trying to save him is because Nine never needed saving. Possibilities for this could be:

We know that the Doctor has kept his War incarnation such a secret that anybody who accesses his full memories, even himself, will just see [=McGann=]'s Doctor lead to Eccleston's. It's implied the War Doctor is somehow "restricted" from being seen or interacted with; the Eleventh Doctor comic story "Outrun" sees Eleven being forced into retro-regeneration. He cycles through Ten and Nine, but breaks free when he gets to the "X-rated" part of him, the War Doctor. Thus, the Great Intelligence, when infiltrating the Doctor's timestream, could not access the "ninth" incarnation of the Doctor, but got led away from Eccleston's Doctor, who embraced the title of Ninth Doctor. Thus, both War and Nine flew under the G.I.'s radars, and were spared from their plot.
305	** Two: The Great Intelligence targeted the WRONG Ninth Doctors. We technically have 4 Ninth Doctors running around: Eccleston, the "true" Ninth Doctor, Hurt, who is the biological ninth incarnation, and then two ambiguous canonical Nines: the Shalka incarnation and the Comic Relief incarnation. An Eighth Doctor novel has a throwaway line of describing the Doctor as so unusual that he has "three ninth incarnations" running around, and Eight sees several different faces for his ninth incarnation until they all settle into Eccleston's in "The Tomorrow Windows". It's possible that these Ninth Doctors occured earlier in alternate timelines than Eccleston's did, and so the Great Intelligence set their sights on them instead, overlooking the true Ninth Doctor and once again sparing him.
306	** Three: The Ninth Doctor never made a "wrong" decision, and never did anything that the Great Intelligence could undo. In the comic story "Four Doctors", the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors are targeted by an alternate timeline version of the Twelfth Doctor. He exists through use of a Dalek continuity bomb, which sorts through all the alternate timelines of an individual and seeks out one where a choice they made would drastically alter their future for the worse. At the end of the comic, the three Doctors and their companions happen upon Nine and Rose, and realize that the reason why Nine wasn't targeted in this plot is because not even a continuity bomb could find a version of him where he was "any less than fantastic". Nine never, in any timeline, makes a corrupt decision, so his timeline is stable enough to be passed up by Clara, and could not be infiltrated by the Great Intelligence.
307	** Four: Clara really WAS there for Nine. She was one of the victims of the Empty Child Plague so she was unrecognizable, as well as the five-year-old child that the Daleks turned into the Controller for the Game Station in "Bad Wolf".

The Clara fragments would have their own history, just squeezed into the timeline, and they don't remember who they are but retain their core personality and ultimately the desire to save the Doctor, so Mr G.Intelligence wouldn't be aware but keep his core personality of being a selfish megalomaniacal EldritchAbomination. The main Clara is also her own fragment, her falling into the Doctor's timestream imposing her parents to eventually meet and raise her. And like the others, she eventually saves the Doctor in/soon following a HeroicSacrifice, just not literally. Rather, she ends up [[Recap/DoctorWhoS35E12HellBent saving his soul]].

Even if he doesn't know the Doctor's real name, perhaps he could find the corpse of another Time Lord who was in the Time War. Or, if someone simply needs to be a complicated timey-wimey event to act as a wound in time, ''Caan's own corpse''. He was more precise about it with superior technology, but it was still extremely dangerous and led to him [[GoMadFromTheRevelation going mad from the revelation]]. The "I died thousands of time" rant isn't just craziness, but because his status as TheOmniscient made him aware of the thousands of fragments of himself scattered across his own timeline which all died, likely [[WarIsHell in the Time War]] or just burning up from forcing himself through a time lock.

We have assumed that what the War Doctor did "without choice, in the name of peace and sanity" was destroying the Time Lords, but maybe it actually isn't. Consider that the Doctor doesn't really talk about what else he did during the Time War that often. Maybe there's something far worse that the Doctor did that he won't talk about at all, and this is what made the War Doctor an UnPerson in his eyes. This just leaves the question, [[NothingIsScarier what could be worse than killing the Time Lords?]]
