[[WMG: Magic didn't skip Susan's generation]]
* In-universe, the episode "The Rotwood Files" reveals that the dragons actual form is that of their dragons' form. If the shapeshifting abilities truly skipped her generation, then by all logic how can a dragon who cannot shapeshift continue to masquerade as a human? If dragon powers "skipped her generation", then she would be locked in dragon form, not her human form.
** So it's possible that her mother was a member of the Huntsclan[[note]] In the first episode when Jake notes how hot Huntsgirl is, Lao Shi warns "Grandpa has been there." We haven't heard anything about Jake's grandmother, so it's plausible that Grampa keeps silent about her - and discourages Jake's romance with Rose - because things between Grandpa and his Huntsclan girl eventually went very, very bad.[[/note]] and found a way to permanently lock her daughter in human form, especially considering that we are shown that it's entirely possible to remove a dragon's powers, and Susan simply uses the excuse of "magic skipping a generation" to avoid talking about it.
* According to Eddie Guzelian and Matt Negrete, Susan was originally going to be a dragon herself.
* Alternatively, it's possible that Susan's potential for dragon powers simply manifested ''extremely'' late compared to other dragons, but by the time they did, everybody had assumed that the magic skipped her and had given up trying to develop her powers. So while she does have dragon powers, she lacks the proper training and motivation to access them.

[[WMG: Jake's grandmother was a member of the Huntsclan]]
In the first episode, when Jake notes how hot Huntsgirl is, Lao Shi warns "Grandpa has been there." We haven't heard anything about Jake's grandmother, so it's plausible that Grampa keeps silent about her - and discourages Jake's romance with Rose - because things between Grandpa and ''his'' Huntsclan girl eventually turned out very, very badly.
* I believe you are sort of correct. But Disney higher-ups said no to that.
* AFAIK, Disney said "No" to Chang being Jake's grandmother. Producers [[WordOfGod Eddie Guzelian and Matt Negrete]] said that the issue of Jake's grandmother would have been dealt with in the third season, if it had come to pass. At one time, there ''was'' a plan to reveal that Jake's grandmother was killed, and so Jake would seek revenge but was dropped early on. Still, it doesn't rule out the theory.

[[WMG: Lao Shi is a barefooter.]]
In Season One, we mostly see him with sandals. A few times we see him barefoot indoors. But in Season Two, he seems to go barefoot outdoors as well. That's another reason why he wears a robe, so no one can see he doesn't wear shoes. His foot fungus seen in "Old School Training" is either the result of being barefoot or the reason why he goes barefoot.
** Er... The first episode of season two showed him slapping Jake with a slipper he promptly put back on his foot. I'd say it's {{Jossed}}, at least for that season.

[[WMG: Yang Jake would be Dark Dragon's pupil in Season Three.]]

[[WMG: Right after the series finale, the Magical World was exposed by an AlienInvasion.]]
Characters from both ''American Dragon: Jake Long'' and ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' made an appearance in ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'', so we can consider them part of the same continuity... And right after Jake's travel at Hong Kong, Kim Possible had to deal with the [[AlienInvasion Lowardian assault on Earth]]. If the dragons didn't come out for that...

[[WMG: The Huntsman was half-blind but didn't want to admit it.]]
During the second season, he never noticed that the dragon Rose supposedly slain at the Academy was, in fact, the American Dragon until #88 and #89 didn't flat-out tell him that, and was later convinced it wasn't when Rose brought Jake's molted skin, without noticing any difference. Also, he somehow failed to notice that the American Dragon was identical to the Dragon that kicked him in a pit with a giant crab monster years earlier, triggering his deep hatred for dragons and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking deepening his then-highly pitched voice]] (thanks to a bit of TimeTravel). Either he's an idiot, or his sight is so low he's practically half-blind, and he will never wear glasses.

[[WMG: The Huntsclan were originally allies of the Dragons.]]
The first Huntsclan members (who probably weren't called the Huntsclan, but whatever) were human warriors that aided Dragons against evil magical creatures before TheMasquerade set in. They were gifted with power from the Dragon they partnered with in the form of a dragon-shaped birthmark that passed down through their bloodline and made them stronger when fighting with their chosen dragon (like Pactios in ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi''). As the Magical World faded into hiding the humans felt abandoned by their partners and gradually turned into the Huntsclan; they still drew on the power of dragons through the trophies they took from them like the skull helmets all full Huntsclan members wear, though this was a weaker and perverted use of the relationship. They kept track of the bloodlines so they could steal infants like Rose when they manifested the mark, now sincerely believing it was their destiny to kill dragons instead of being partners with them. Rose's relationship with Jake reopened the original partnership and explains why she can handle multiple Huntsclan members and fight the Dark Dragon to a standstill.
* This explains why in "Love Cruise" Huntsgirl -despite being serious- was unable to kill Jake, even when he was in human form. Since she didn't love him any more due to Cupid's arrows, she was no longer drawing on the power from their bond and essentially regressed back to her Season One level of strength until she was stabbed by the arrows again.

[[WMG: The Huntsman really IS Rose's uncle.]]
Not only was one of Rose's parents is related to him, but s/he was also once a Huntsperson. My guess points to Rose's mother. She and the Huntsman were very close, and their family were members of the Huntsclan and a very high-ranking and influential class. But then Rose's mother began to think their ways are wrong. The Huntsman was shocked to hear that and tells her never think that again. She herself fell in love with a Dragon she was chasing. The two have a secret relationship like Jake and Rose. But the Huntsclan soon finds out and ambush him. Rose's mother was devastated to find her lover's [[DeadGuyOnDisplay dragon head mounted]]. The Huntsman was furious of his sister's transgression which shamed their family within the Huntsclan ranks. Realizing there's nothing left for her in the clan, she decides to defect (a move that's considered treason and punishable by death), changed her name and began a new life. She eventually meets her future husband who's in the dark of her past. After many years, the Hunstclan was able to find her upon her pregnancy, which the Huntsman handled personally by taking Rose to raise her as a Huntsgirl to make up for her mother's shaming of the family. As far as the Huntsclan is concerned, Rose's mother is dead to them. She'll likely approve of Rose's relationship with Jake because it reminds her of something she once had that could have grown.
** Alternatively, both parents were slayers who left the Huntsclan to start a family and had to leave the Huntsclan because slayers who start families are believed to become soft and the only reason it's not completely discouraged is because someone needs to make the next generation. Rose's parents just pretended to think Jake was delusional so they'd rid of him without Jake suspecting. That explains how Rose had the fighting skills. She needed to have the training. Huntsboys 88 and 89 disprove Jake's theory of being a "natural" just for having the mark.

[[WMG: Spud's family are actually wizards.]]
He was shown having magical potential being able to use Panderus' wand, his great-grandfather knowing how to seal away the genie in Taranushis Chalice, and his grandmother telling him bedtime stories about the mermaid city.

[[WMG: Rose never had a sister.]]
It only appears that she did because YouAlreadyChangedThePast. The "twin sister" is actually the alternate Rose created by Jake's wish.
* Jossed. According to WordOfGod, the whereabouts of her twin was going to be the story arc of Season 3 had the show not been cancelled.

[[WMG: The Oracle twins didn't get redesigned]]
They just tried to differentiate themselves. They dyed their hair and Sara began wearing eye contacts.

[[WMG: Jake's true form is a dragon]]
He's just raised as a human.
* Confirmed. It's revealed in the episode "The Rotwood Files" Jake's ''true form'' is that of his ''dragon form'', because Professor Rotwood is shown to be in possession of chemicals that can transform dragons back into their true form.

[[WMG: Rose's parents moving to Hong Kong wasn't a coincidence]]
Following up the above theory that they were Huntsclan members who left the Huntsclan to start a family, they went to Hong Kong to slay dragons attending the reunion but they gave up when Rose told them of a boy claiming to be a dragon who knew she's a slayer.
* Possibly, WordOfGod is that had there been a third season, Rose would've moved back to New York City.

[[WMG: The dark dragon is a corrupted Jake from the future]]
* Jossed

[[WMG: Before finding out he was a dragon, the Huntsman ''liked'' Jake]]
I mean, as far as he knew he was a nice if eccentric guy who was making his adopted niece happy, and went to console her when her date dumped her at a ball... And the Huntsman ''had'' some form of paternal affection for Rose. Then he found out who he really was and that he had 'corrupted' his niece...

[[WMG: Dragons have influenced kung fu, and later adopted the very style they influenced]]
Some kung fu styles imitates animal movements... And two of them imitate ''dragons''. The Southern one, being more attentive to chi use, was later adopted by the dragons themselves and adapted for use by ''actual'' dragons.

[[WMG: Rose's subconscious is the reason #88 and #89 survived and she herself was nearly killed by the skulls]]
Due their incompetence she couldn't help but ''not'' consider them actual members of the Huntsclan, so they were spared. At the same time, she still considered herself a member of the Huntsclan... And had Jake not made his wish, she would have been killed.

[[WMG: Jake is actually ''paid'' for his job, but can't actually use his pay yet]]
Because, being dragons, he's paid in gold, gems and jewels, and the only guys that wouldn't balk at him showing up to sell it for cash are Fu (and nobody would trust him with ''that much'' money) and a Leprechaun he knows he can't trust. He probably doesn't even know about that since he wasn't whining over it when he complained about the lack of money before getting a job working for Brocamas.

[[WMG: Jake's first season form was because the Dark Dragon was unofficially the "first" American Dragon.]]
Basically the Dark Dragon is native to North America but due to his actions, the Dragon Council doesn't consider him to be an American dragon. However his status does effect things; Jake and Haley look American at first because the Dark Dragon is technically the first American Dragon but the world acts on the principles of Fisher Kingdom and once the half-Chinese Jake has been in his protector role long enough, his heritage affects his form, setting a precedence for dragons in America to reflect the "melting pot"/"salad bowl" nature of the country's citizens; given Haley is Jake's sister, her form changes in a similar fashion though because in America, there's some personalizing of forms, she doesn't match him exactly. It's just that no one realizes this in the canon time-frame since it's the first case of it. It's likely there are native dragons in other countries that influence the forms of the protector dragons and if other countries suffered a "Dark Dragon", they might go through a similar process.

[[WMG: The Dark Dragon Refused The Call]]
We've seen what being a dragon does to someone. It drove Jake's sister into a complete wreck in less than a month. It's hell on Jake. People don't choose to become dragons. They're born into it and stuck in the role unless they screw up sufficiently. Maybe the Dark Dragon saw what this job did to people and refused the call. Maybe he decided that this was basically a caste system, and they were born into and stuck doing a thankless job nobody else wanted and suffering for it; and half of the job just existed to maintain a masquerade. The Dark Dragon is considered evil by the council because he rebelled against the system, and he's considered by the leaders to be more dangerous than the Huntsclan because he's the only one with the will and power to overthrow the system.

[[WMG: The Dark Dragon cracked under the pressure of being a hero.]]
A variation on the above, the Dark Dragon was originally a protector of the magical community like Jake. But unlike Jake, he couldn't handle the stress and lack of respect the job demanded, and eventually broke in [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope the worst way possible]], turning on the people he once defended.

[[WMG: Going with the above and the idea of Yang Jake joining the Dark Dragon, the Dark Dragon is the result of a negative-chi doppelganger absorbing the original dragon.]]
In an attempt to balance his duties the dragon that became the number one threat to the magical world tried to create a doppelganger to aid in his battles, only to fall victim to his negative half like Jake nearly did. Yang Jake had pretty much the same goals as the Dark Dragon and is literally darker than Jake or the other doppelgangers to boot. This may also be why the Dragon Council has no idea who he was; from their perspective, the Dark Dragon just appeared one day and may not have resembled his old self at that point. And instead of the Dark Dragon bringing out Yang Jake again, why not Chang? As the Dark Dragon's [[TheDragon "dragon"]] she would the one most likely to know about his origin and would see Jake's evil side joining her as karmic repayment for him and Rose defeating the Dark Dragon.

[[WMG: Dragons of mixed human/dragon heritage will take at least some features from the non-dragon parent's heritage.]]
To clarify, Jake and Haley having more European-looking forms is because their father is Caucasian/of European descent and even though he's not a dragon, he still had an impact on their genetics, which translated into traits from European dragons entering their genetic code. It's possible that humans of other ethnic backgrounds would have similar effects on part-dragon offspring.

[[WMG: Humans who reproduce with dragons can affect their children's dragon forms.]]
Given that in real life, a child can have features that neither parent displays, the idea that a dragon could inherit hypothetical dragon traits from a human parent isn't completely out of left field.

[[WMG: Male dragons undergo multiple form changes but keep the same basic color scheme while female dragons keep a fairly consistent appearance but undergo several color changes.]]
This is the most logical explanation for why Jake went from Western dragon to more Asian Lung with minimal to no color changes while Haley went from purple to pink.

[[WMG: The Huntsclan's advanced technology is partially alien in origin.]]
Specifically, the tech found in ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitch'' and ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' due to their crossovers. The Huntsclan has been salvaging and stealing tech from alien crash sites and mad scientists for centuries, the high-tech assault vehicles, weapons and even their teleportation grid are all things seen in the hands of aliens and super-villains in the other shows. It's possible they even have a deal with Jack Hench to supply them with their basic equipment (bar the teleportation) since the arms dealer would love to work with a group like the Huntsclan that are more dangerous and competent (and thus better-paying) criminals than those he usually deals with.

[[WMG: Frank (one of the two goblin disguised as teenage girls) becomes a {{crossdresser}}.]]
By the end of "Body Guard Duty", he clearly took it too far. He may actually like being a girl, so he remains in his disguise and change his name to Frankie. His buddies are weirded out by his [[CreepyCrossdresser lifestyle choice]].

[[WMG: Sigmund Brock was funded by the Huntsclan.]]
They were the investors he mentioned as having to appease and the same people he spoke to on the phone. Out of all the dragons' enemies, they would be the ones to benefit the most from his dragon-revealing Brockium. The Huntsman could use the fear and hysteria from the reveal of magical creatures to make the Huntsclan seem like the heroes for hunting them. If this is true, then it means that ''Rotwood saved the magical world'' when he turned on Brock!

[[WMG: Due to Rose's wish, there were two of her co-existing in the same timeline.]]
But not until Jake actually made the wish for Rose to have a happy life, which then altered the timeline retroactively as we see it in the previous episodes. To grant the wish without causing a paradox because of Rose being in the position of making ''her'' wish to destroy the Huntsclan the Aztec skulls split Rose in two (her "sister" being the one left behind by the Huntsclan because there was no birthmark) with one being take by the Huntsclan and one left behind as Rose saw in her dream. The Huntsclan!Rose was absorbed into Normal!Rose once Jake's wish was fulfilled which explains why she was able to remember Jake and her Huntsclan skills when fighting the Dark Dragon. WordOfGod says that season three would have addressed the issue of Rose's twin sister, but if Rose ''is'' her twin sister, maybe a split personality would have resulted from them sharing a body and an arc would have been trying to give Rose's temporal double a body of her own before she and Rose self-destructed, with the added bonus of "Thorn" having the more serious personality of pre-season one finale Huntsgirl in a case of SiblingYinYang. Inspired by the situation with [[spoiler: Jeremy Clockson and Lobsang Ludd]] in ''Literature/DiscWorld'', admittedly.

[[WMG: A World Dragon has to be at least a second generation citizen of the country they protect.]]

Not because of the Council having rules that state this, but because being a magical protector requires that a being is born on the soil of said country. This is why Chang needed Jake's blood in "Being Human" to revive the Dark Dragon as he died on the soil of Jake's protectorate (quite literally, too, thanks to the Tooth Fairy.) This also explains why Jake and Fred Nerk are the newest members of the order as Australia and the United States are relatively young when it comes to most countries and may not have had a dragon population large enough for a World Dragon to be chosen.

[[WMG: [[PubertySuperpower Dragon powers usually emerge around puberty.]]]]

With rare examples like Haley quickly mastering her powers while in elementary school and Jake who started suffering PowerIncontinence as a pre-teen. If a dragon doesn't manifest before high school age, as shown with Susan, then they never develop their powers and only have the ability to pass on their DragonAncestry to their children. This is why dragons receive their training at such a young age as shown by "Dragon Summit" and its crowds of young teens; whether they become protectors or not, they still need to learn to control their powers lest they blow TheMasquerade.

[[WMG: Rose was made a full member of the Huntsclan as a "reward" for retrieving the Crystal Skulls and that's why she (and not 88 and 89) was affected by her wish.]]

Whether the Huntsmaster intended to keep her in the Huntsclan by threatening her parents or just got rid of her, he felt it was appropriately amusing to give Rose the thing she had wanted for most of her life but now hated the very idea of. When Rose wished for the destruction of the Huntsclan, the Skulls interpreted her wish as only pertaining to those that had proven themselves to be full Huntsclan which usually pertains to killing a dragon, Rose's initiation being an exception but still binding. If her wish was to destroy anyone who had the Mark not only would 88 and 89 have disappeared but also all the students at the Academy and anyone who had the Mark the Huntsclan missed. Rose knew this when she made the wish and specifically asked for the destruction of "ALL Huntsclan!" to make sure only those who had blood on their hands were destroyed along with herself.
