Over time, particularly in Series 9, his personality mellows, he becomes softer and more sympathetic (though his tsun nature still emerges) and most notably, his relationship with Clara becomes noticeably more affectionate.

For the final season, Weilan ends up on the brunt of Ondina's attitude for a multitude of reasons, until Ondina finally swallows her pride and admits that she sees Weilan as a friend.
40	* Miley from ''Series/HannahMontana'' is Harsh to Jake Ryan when they first meet. Eventually, they enter a relationship, but then break up. When they later meet as friends, she acts Sweet.
41	* Patricia has never been the nicest character on ''Series/HouseOfAnubis'', but her real ''Tsuntsun'' side has never really been unleashed until Eddie came along. She reveals her soft side in moments of weakness or when she's feeling comfortable, but that doesn't stop her from being a DeadpanSnarker and getting annoyed easily.

49	** We have a male example in Geiz Myokoin from ''Series/KamenRiderZiO'' who varies between this (hides the fact that Sougo is a friend and tries to kill him just because he's the future tyrant Oma Zi-O) and dere-dere (concerned about Sougo's path to being Oma Zi-O and helping him to walk the more rightful path).
50	** Fuwa from ''Series/KamenRiderZeroOne'' yells about how anger is all he needs and that he doesn't want to laugh, but he's just hiding that he's the only one who finds Aruto's humor honestly hilarious, and he keeps being concerned with Aruto's wellbeing.

53	* Major Margaret Houlihan of ''Series/{{MASH}}''. Definitely favored the violent side, especially towards [[TheCasanova Hawkeye]], but showed a softer side with [[{{Jerkass}} Frank]], [[RomanticFalseLead Donald]], and occasionally [[AFatherToHisMen Col. Potter]], [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Winchester]], and even Hawkeye again.
54	* Arthur Pendragon from ''{{Series/Merlin 2008}}'' is like this in his friendship with Merlin. He'll snark at and insult Merlin to no end, but when the going gets tough, or it's just a serious moment, he's not afraid to tell Merlin how good a friend he is.
55	* Kelly from ''Series/{{Misfits}}'', who is violently aggressive and very easily provoked--she's forced to do community service for attacking a girl who insulted her, so that should tell you something--but uses her temper to hide her deep insecurities, and is a genuinely kind and sensitive person underneath it all. Oddly enough, ''both'' sides of her personality are emphasised by her [[BelligerentSexualTension strange flirtation]] with Nathan--she does try to be nice to him and helps him out when he's in trouble, but he can be such a [[DeadpanSnarker snarky little]] [[JerkassWoobie brat]] that she typically ends up punching, kicking, slapping or otherwise mauling him at least three times per episode. Ironically, he later confesses that he ''likes'' her attitude problem and the fact that she's the only person who slaps him when he's being a jerk.

She mellows out once she starts dating Hyde after Kelso flees to California to avoid getting married to her.

She also shifts to her Tsuntsun nature when betrayed or alone, so it's not strictly a romantic play. It's her defense against getting hurt.

Her job suits her: she is polite and genuinely kind to everyone, unless otherwise warranted, to the point where she can get along with people from all walks of life but feels like she doesn't really fit in anywhere. Then she rents a shuttle from Captain Malcolm Reynolds. [[BelligerentSexualTension Cue back and forth between admiration]] and VolleyingInsults. [[spoiler:And an eventual RelationshipUpgrade in [[ComicBook/SerenityLeavesOnTheWind the continuation comics]].]]
