1	* ChannelHop: After the sale of the Creator/FoxKids assets to Disney in 2001, this meant reruns of the show aired on Creator/ToonDisney's Jetix block for a while. The series was classified on Creator/{{Hulu}} as an Creator/{{ABC}} series despite never airing on that network (this has been done to several other shows that, while never aired on ABC, are considered a part of their library via [[Creator/TouchstonePictures Touchstone Television]], which became ABC Studios in 2007) until 2022, when the ABC classification was removed.
2	* DenialOfDigitalDistribution: The comic has never been distributed digitally, and likely never will be, as publisher New England Comics is in the brick-and-mortar comic-store business, and thus would not allow a digital alternative.
3	* GodDoesNotOwnThisWorld: Any supporting cast characters made for the cartoon (ie: American Maid, Sewer Urchin) are not owned by Edlund. This is because he did not secure ownership rights to said characters and as such, the characters are owned by whoever owns the rights to the cartoon.
4	* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Zigzagged. The 3rd and final season of the cartoon was never released on R1 DVD, and most likely never will be. Additionally, the two episodes from the first two seasons, "The Tick Vs. the Mole Men" and "Alone Together" were excluded from the DVD releases, which combined with the third season leaves 12 of the show's 36 episodes unavailable on DVD in the United States. The whole series was released on DVD in Europe, but these have gone out of print. In 2021, the series became available on Hulu, which also includes both episodes excluded from the DVD releases.
5	* KidsMealToy: Taco Bell had a set of four toys in 1996. There was the Tick Balancing Superhero, the Sewer Urchin Underwater Diver, the Charles the Brain Child Toss N' Catch, and the Arthur Gliding Sidekick.
6	* TheOtherDarrin:
7	** After Season 1, Creator/RobPaulsen voiced Arthur for the rest of the series, replacing Micky Dolenz.
8	** After Paulsen took over as Arthur, Stuart Stone replaced him as the voice of Charles the Brainchild.
9	** The Breadmaster changed voice actors each appearance: in his debut episode he was voiced by Roddy [=McDowall=], in his second appearance he was voiced by Jess Harnell, and in his final appearance he was voiced by Martin Jarvis.
10	* WhatCouldHaveBeen: If the creators found good enough footage, then The Tick could have appeared on ''WesternAnimation/SpaceGhostCoastToCoast''.
11	** There were plans to make a SpinOff series of the Chainsaw Vigilante, but never materialised.
12	** After the cartoon ended it's run, Fox and Sunbow Entertainment discussed producing a Tick special for primetime. But nothing came of it.
