* ActingForTwo: Suede voices himself and all his clones.
* CareerResurrection: Suede's views had been on a downturn for quite a while with him mentioning in his ''Pokémon'' Season 1 review he might've had to retire from reviewing had the retrospective turned out poorly. Thankfully the opposite occurred and Suede can now do reviews for a living.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: In his "Pikachu and Pichu" review, Suede insists real-world animals have been retconned out of the ''Pokémon'' franchise, claiming that they haven't appeared since the St. Anne episodes. Not only have there been several post-St. Anne [[https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Animals_in_the_Pokemon_world appearances by real world animals]], the "Pikachu and Pichu" short itself had a statue of a real-world horse.
* CreatorBacklash: He mentioned in a ''Pokémon Journey'' episode that he's trying to let people forget his earlier Animenia reviews of the movies.
* DevelopmentHell: He planned on making a ''Manga/OnePiece'' TheAbridgedSeries and a ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' {{Doujinshi}}.
* FlipFlopOfGod: Suede initally wasn't sure himself how far he'd take his ''Pokémon'' reviews, saying near the beginning he expected to only cover the original series and ''maybe'' Orange Islands if enough interest was there to be worth it. Eventually, he began doing the Johto episodes. In addition during the "The Rivalry Revival," he talks about Kadabra's eventual ban from the anime stating "we will talk more about why when we reach its final appearance" which is the Season 9 opener. This indicates that Suede plans to cover at least all of ''Anime/PokemonTheOriginalSeries'' and ''Anime/PokemonTheSeriesRubyAndSapphire'', though Suede's continuing copyright struggles put this plan into question.
* LyingCreator: Asserted repeatedly on his Website/{{Twitter}} that he couldn't make it to the Year 3 Shoot and wouldn't appear (though both his wife and his mother blew the cover, but nobody noticed).
* MissingEpisode:
** The video that got the attention of That Guy himself--a rant about the idiocy of Website/YouTube's rationale for taking down WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic videos--is now lost and gone forever; he saved it on a long-gone college computer and, seeing as he promised to take the video down once the issue was resolved, it's no longer on Website/YouTube.
** His wife was going to post various photos and videos of the Year 3 Shoot, but the iPod that had all the files on it was stolen and wiped clean.
** Suede laments in his "Top 11 American Anime" that, in spite of the entire rest of the series (except Episode 10) being available online, ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfCalamityJane'': Episode 11, "Protégé" (an episode with a plot so powerful it got burned into his brain) is one of these.
** The Animenia reviews of the first three ''Pokémon'' movies were unlisted after [=#ChangeTheChannel=] posthumously revealed that [[WebVideo/YouCanPlayThis JewWario]] was a sexual predator. Suede also announced that he will re-review the movies with Linkara.
* MoneyDearBoy: His reasoning for {{Animesque}} titles flooding the market.
* NoExportForYou: UsefulNotes/NewZealand never received Freeways, Klondike Bars or ''WesternAnimation/ExoSquad''.
* PromotedFanboy: According to the farewell video, Creator/DougWalker hired him on the strength of a Website/YouTube video he made protesting the removal of WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic from Website/YouTube.
* PropRecycling: The cravat he uses in ''Ask That Dude in the Suede'' was also his [[Anime/{{Naruto}} ninja headband]] in ''AMV Heaven Episode 3''.
* ScheduleSlip: Due to getting ill twice and having a hard to transition into a full-time job.
* ScrewedByTheLawyers: In a disturbingly innovative tactic, [[Creator/VizMedia Shogakukan Productions]] issued a lawsuit in Japanese court demanding 80,200 yen for using the ''Pokémon'' anime for his content in a nation where fair use is effectively nonexistent, dooming his channel without any path for recourse. With little choice but to accept his fate, he made a video and [[https://www.patreon.com/posts/61667912 Patreon post]] detailing the situation and urging people to spread the word with the #Shoprogambit and [=#Geoblocking4All=] hashtags.
* SeriesHiatus: Officially started on January 21, 2009 (though [[ScheduleSlip his most recent video at the time was two months old]]). Ended on August 10, 2011 when he released his new video ([[http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/ir/suede/animenia/31992-top-11-american-anime a top 11 list, in homage to the first episode of Animenia]]).
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** [[WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment Spoony's]] cameo in [[WebVideo/{{Benzaie}} GYMDK]] - ''Wiz'n'Liz: The Frantic Wabbit Wescue'' was originally meant for Suede, but he declined.
** His wife was going to post various photos and videos of the Year 3 Shoot, but the iPod that had all the files on it was stolen and wiped clean.
** Future ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' reviews after ''Anime/Pokemon4Ever'' were quite obviously originally planned to be tagging WebVideo/{{JesuOtaku}} in for Linkara, with WebVideo/JewWario still being the third member of the team as Creator/LewisLovhaug has stated he probably wasn't doing more due to not watching them growing up. Even the opening card for ''4Ever'' says Justin was the only one planned to do every movie with him, and his passing has clearly broken Suede's motivation to do any more.
* WorkingTitle: The first episode of Fandom Stranger is called ''Anime Weirdness''.
* WrittenInInfirmity: His review of the ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'' episode "The Pi-Kahuna" was done while he was recovering from illness. Rather than straining his usual overdubs, he solved the problem by narrating the whole thing from the perspective of the OneShotCharacter Victor, in what he admits was an extended parody of ''Film/TheBigLebowski''.

* His favourite TabletopGame/MagicTheGathering cards are ''Baneslayer Angel'', ''Platinum Angel'' and ''Guardian Seraph''. He also made a drawing of a young ''Sorin Markov'', that he uses as his Website/DeviantArt icon.
* He is a veteran AMV maker and won various Christchurch AMV contests.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wJzGnUEQlA He had a ponytail in 2007.]]
* He comissoned his wife (then girlfriend) to draw [[http://dailysketches.livejournal.com/tag/5%2F13%2F08 this]].
* His computer hardware is an 2.66 [=GHz=] Intel Core i5 iMac and his editing software is Adobe Premiere Pro [=CS5=].
* After finishing his missionary duties in UsefulNotes/{{Auckland}} he went back to Christchurch, where he stayed for three months. He then had to go to Auckland to go to UsefulNotes/SanFrancisco to go to Utah to marry. He then went to UsefulNotes/{{Chicago}} with his wife to participate in the TGWTG Year 3 shoot. He then went back to Christchurch, where he lived in a caravan parked in front lawn of his parents' house that he rented from them for two months. He now lives with his wife in a house they rented from a Russian language professor until November.
* The reason why he used the SheathStrike in ''WebVideo/SuburbanKnights'' was because the katana used was real, and he accidentally cut Rob Walker's forehead.
