* BadExportForYou: The Hispanic CPS arcade boards used for Spanish-speaking Latin America for the first Alpha game were notorious for omitting many tunes used in other boards, and in the case of Adon's stage, only a few notes could be heard, including a very annoying guitar riff that plays during all the stage until you finish it. The only way to play the game with the original tunes were using the U.S one or boards from other regions instead.Other [=CPS2=] games in Latin America suffered the same problem, including VideoGame/XMenChildrenOfTheAtom, VideoGame/MarvelSuperHeroes and VideoGame/MegamanThePowerBattle and its sequel.
* CutSong: This badass gem from the Japanese version of Anime/StreetFighterIITheAnimatedMovie plays during the Alpha 1 Dramatic Battle in the Japanese arcade version. This song is not featured in the overseas releases or in the console versions, where it was replaced with M. Bison's theme.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Ryu was voiced by Katashi Ishizuka in the first two Alpha games. Creator/ToshiyukiMorikawa, who also voiced Charlie in all three games, took over the role in Alpha 3, but only for a few clips; the rest of his audio was recycled from Ishizuka.
** Rose was voiced by Yuko Miyamura, who also voiced Chun-Li in all three games, in the first two Alpha games. For Alpha 3, the role was taken over by Michiko Neya.
** Cammy was voiced by Susan Hart in Alpha 2 Gold, by virtue of VideoGame/XMenVsStreetFighter, and by Akiko Komoto in Alpha 3.
* TroubledProduction: Due to the game being made to try and clean out Capcom's CPU stock, Alpha 1 was made on a seriously crunched deadline; the staff had just three months (later extended to six) to make the entire game, with the vast majority of the staff being newcomers to Capcom with little experience, up and to including planner Hideaki Itsuno. Even with the extension, it was only thanks to intervention from senior staff that the game was finished at all.
* WorkingTitle: "Street Fighter Legends", which was eventually unearthed as the title of a series of character-focused UDON Comics miniseries.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Joe was going to be one of the new fighters in Alpha 3, but was replaced by Cody.
** Juni and Juli may have originally been designed to be played at the same time, similar to when you fight them in Arcade Mode when playing Cammy.
** For Alpha 3, Takayuki Iwai, the main musical composer for the game, originally wanted to use a custom CD-based soundboard in order to make a hard rock soundtrack similar to VideoGame/GuiltyGear. Budget constraints forced him to use the standard MIDI Q-Sound system instead.
