* ActorAllusion:
** In the crossovers with Manga/Gintama, the Yorozuya and the Sket Dan made sure they were aware about who were their voice actors and their respective roles in each series. In the original manga version of the crossover, Gintoki and Switch realize they sound the same and proceed to call each other "Sugita" (this is absent in the anime, where both proceed to call each other as "onii-chan").
** In the first episode, Switch mentions that his favorite Visored is Muguruma Kensei, who Creator/TomokazuSugita also voices. Later, in episode 31, Switch suggests (with a tone of voice similar to Gintoki) to use a very suspicious white and black outfit.
* AllStarCast: For a 2010s anime's standards, the cast is full of people that are well known in the industry today. For starters, you have Creator/HiroyukiYoshino, Creator/RyokoShiraishi and Creator/TomokazuSugita as the main characters. And you can extend that with Creator/TomokazuSeki, Creator/YuuKobayashi, Creator/HiroShimono, Creator/FumikoOrikasa, Creator/MarinaInoue... and the large cast of regulars and one time characters like Creator/KanaHanazawa, Creator/NobuyukiHiyama, Creator/AkiraIshida and Creator/JunkoMinagawa.
* CastingGag:
** Himeko and Switch's computer voice could be seen as "extensions" from Hayate and Gintoki. The fourth wall do not survive.
** Himeko is not Creator/RyokoShiraishi's first time as a legendary delinquent from Osaka. That honor would be Asuka.
* TheCastShowoff: Episode 71B of the anime has Dante fall into enka, allowing Music/Gackt to show off his enka skills as Dante sings almost every single one of his lines.
* CelebrityVoiceActor: Visual Kei singer Music/Gackt as Dante.
* TheDanza: One-off character Tetsu is played by Creator/TetsuInada.
* ExecutiveMeddling: This is why Cherry gets introduced into the series. Roman mentions that his creation was a request from the manga's then-editor to "allow some fanservice" (something that Shinohara often avoided) appear in the series. And, oh boy, the Sket Dan knows that something is going to go wrong when he (and his friends) appears.
* FirstAppearance: With the difference of exclusive characters in both Pilot one-shots, and the appearance of the Sket Dan (with minor design differences), Otakura and Yabasawa made their debuts in the first Akamaru Jump one shot, as well.
* TheOtherDarrin: There was a different cast used for the Drama [=CDs=] and [=VOMICs=] that got replaced when the anime was greenlit.
** Tsubaki: Creator/TakahiroSakurai
** Mimorin: Creator/AtsukoEnomoto
** Daisy: Creator/AyaEndo
** Shinba: Creator/KosukeToriumi
** Captain: Airi Sakuno
** Dante: Creator/TakashiKondo
** Yabasawa: Creator/HitomiNabatame
** Reiko: Creator/YuuKobayashi (Kobayashi would later go on to voice Daisy in the anime)
** Roman: Creator/AiShimizu
** Shinzo: Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi
** Teppei: Creator/SoichiroHoshi
** Jogasaki: Creator/KentaroIto
** Chuuma: Hayato Nakata
** Yamanobe: Jun Konno
** In the Latin American Spanish dub, the characters from Manga/Gintama has different voice actors from the ones from the respective dub of that show; this is partly for two reasons: Firstly, Gintoki's first voice actor, Creator/JesusBarrero, died at 2016, being replaced in this show with Oscar Lopez instead, and finally, the dub of Manga/Gintama was done in Cuernavaca, while the one of Sket Dance is done in Mexico City, causing that the remaining characters, Shinpachi and Kagura, being replaced from Hugo Rodríguez and Marisol Castro respectively to Hector Mena and Elizabeth Infante instead.
