* AcclaimedFlop: The game had good reviews, but rather poor sales when first released. The digital re-releases on Website/GOGDotCom and Platform/{{Steam}}, however, are top selling.
* ApprovalOfGod: Creator/ChrisAvellone gave his approval for the UpdatedRerelease made by Beamdog.
* ContractualImmortality: Characters like Fell and Lothar are Planescape regulars, hence they cannot be killed.
* DummiedOut: There's a number of items, events and other stuff present in the game files that didn't make it into the final product. One of the more notable things that can be found is an [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/torment/images/1/12/Lady.gif/revision/latest?cb=20150703170334 in-engine animated character sprite of the Lady of Pain]].
* MultiDiscWork: The game comes on four [=CDs=], with the German version having an additional disc for the manual and patches, but the Polish version only having two discs.
* PreOrderBonus: Pre-orders from Creator/{{Interplay|Entertainment}} came with the novel for free.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** An early draft of the plot the novelization was based on had Fhjull Forked-Tongue play a bigger role in the story, whose interactions ends up a bit rushed in the final version.
** The [[https://www.rpgwatch.com/files/Files/00-0208/Torment_Vision_Statement_1997.pdf original design document]] for the game have a number of differences, most notably the plans for different endings including one where The Nameless One [[HereWeGoAgain rejects his mortality and wakes up in the Mortuary, continuing the cycle]] and one where The Nameless One [[EarnYourHappyEnding kills or traps his mortality, escaping his punishment while keeping his immortality]]. The final endings are all based on the planned Neutral ending.
** ''Lustmord'' had originally been approached to work on the game's soundtrack, but was dropped from the project after [[ExecutiveMeddling a new producer took over]], with this new producer instead wanted a more "generic" fantasy-style soundtrack. This happened less than six weeks before the game went gold.
* WorkingTitle: ''Planescape: Last Rites''.
