* BadExportForYou: The worldwide release of ''Innocent Sin'' for PSP massively cut down the Theater side quest; the Quest Creation feature was removed, and the official DLC quests were not localized.
* CrossDressingVoices: Jun in the English version, for some reason. The Japanese [=PS1=] releases of ''Innocent Sin'' and ''Eternal Punishment'' gave him a reserved but definitely-masculine voice, while the [=PS1=] dub of ''Eternal Punishment'' gave him a female voice actress. This is, however, completely averted in the UpdatedRerelease of ''Innocent Sin'', where his current dub actor's voice matches the original much more closely.
* DummiedOut:
** The ability to create and download new dungeons has been taken out of the English release of the ''Innocent Sin'' remake.
** Supposedly, the player could have influenced [[spoiler:Joker's OneWingedAngel form by spreading rumors describing the Joker as angelic or devilish]]. The [=NPCs=] that reference this are still in the game, and both the concept art and a sprite of [[spoiler:the Joker's "devil" form]] still exist, but there's no way to influence his appearance.
** As shown in the artbooks, Nyarlathotep was at one point supposed to have an original human form as The Black Man but for whatever reason the design never made it into the final game.
* FanTranslation:
** ''Innocent Sin'' got one a few years prior to its UpdatedRerelease, and not only was Atlus aware of it, [[ApprovalOfGod they gave it props for quality and accuracy.]]
** One was complete for the PSP release of ''Eternal Punishment'' on July 26th, 2022. This is more an extensive edit of the [=PS1=] version's official localization than a true fan translation, though the extra scenario translation is based on a Tumblr translation that was reproduced with permission.
* NetworkToTheRescue: Since the remake of ''Eternal Punishment'' was not going to be localized, Sony instead decided to release the original [=PS1=] version on PSN for those who wanted to play it.
* NoExportForYou: The original release of ''Innocent Sin'' was never released outside of Japan, whilst ''Eternal Punishment'' was also released in America. The ''Innocent Sin'' remake for PSP was released worldwide, but the ''Eternal Punishment'' remake has not been released outside of Japan [[https://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/02/25/persona-2-eternal-punishment-hits-psn-tomorrow/ due to unspecified "unusual circumstances"]], making it the only ''Persona'' game never to receive a release in Europe in some capacity.
* TheOtherDarrin: For Maya, Creator/DorothyEliasFahn replaces Creator/LaniMinella in the US for the PSP version.
* PopCultureUrbanLegends: A (now deleted but archived) [[https://files.catbox.moe/nm72l3.png post]] claimed that Jun was originally meant to be the protagonist of ''Eternal Punishment'', despite this supposed information never being found in interviews or in the game's files. Sure enough, a [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Megaten/comments/10idft4/that_old_post_about_unused_data_in_eternal/ post in 2023]] has thoroughly debunked the claim.
* TroubledProduction: Iwakura Productions' FanTranslation of the PSP remake of ''Eternal Punishment'' was in development for years, but development fell apart at the last hurdle due to several factors, eventually [[https://iwakuraproductions.wordpress.com/2022/07/27/persona-2-eternal-punishment-psp-update-2/ leading to it being canned]] after it was preempted by [[https://github.com/sayucchin/P2-EP-PSP/ a similar patch]] that came out of nowhere in July 2022. Family deaths and the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic ate into team members' free time, but that was surmountable. What was ''not'' surmountable was the Russian main programmer [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Megaten/comments/w9ete4/comment/ihxcj3e/ losing access to his programming tools]] as a result of the invasion of Ukraine, [[https://twitter.com/cj_iwakura/status/1507894310406168577 causing beta testing to stall]].
* WordOfGay: A lot of this. The character designer, Kazuma Kaneko, supports the pairing of Jun and Tatsuya, and he also presents a pretty good case for them to the scenario writer in the interviews. And let's not even go into the drama CD--[[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything baby chickens are a]] ''[[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything really]]'' [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything big deal.]]
