Go To

* FakeAmerican: The British Creator/RobinAtkinDownes as American protagonist Travis Touchdown.
* FakeIrish: The American Creator/QuintonFlynn as the Irish Henry.
* GodNeverSaidThat: The FanNickname for Ermen Palmer is frequently reported as official as evidence for him being Garcian or from killer7, but in reality that character has never been named.
* LimitedSpecialCollectorsUltimateEdition: A limited edition collectors edition of No More Heroes 1 & 2 (Created by [=LimitedRun=]) includes a physical Switch game, a physical cd of the game’s soundtrack, a steel-book case, a reversible poster, and a behind-the-scenes/artbook. Buying both versions will also give you a physical flag of Santa Destroy.
* NewbieBoom: The ports of the first two games to the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch increased interest in the franchise to the point where the first two games were in the Top 5 on the Nintendo [=eShop=].
* NoDubForYou: This game and the sequel retained the English voice acting across all regions, including its home market Japan. A Japanese voice track was made when Heroes' Paradise was released in Japan.
* NoExportForYou:
** Heroes Paradise was released on both Platform/Xbox360 and Platform/PlayStation3, though only the [=PS3=] version released outside Japan (and the 360 version is region-locked as well).
** No More Heroes World Ranker is a mobile game in which you play a customizable character. Suda51 hoped that if it sold well, it could see a Western release, but it never happened. As of now, the game is delisted and its website is offline.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Creator/JoshKeaton as Destroyman.
** Quinton Flynn and Robin Atkin Downes play one of the others' common character archetypes, as mentioned under FakeIrish and FakeAmerican.
* ScrewedByTheLawyers: The song "Heavenly Star" (the one that plays in the shops and Naomi's lab) is not present in Heroes Paradise and the Switch rerelease due to licensing issues.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** WebVideo/MattMcMuscles of WebVideo/TwoBestFriendsPlay, who worked on the game as a tester, confirmed during his own LP of the game that Grasshopper once put in the ability to send pedestrians flying and then explode into a fountain of blood for the North American version. Matt, concerned that this would cause the ESRB to up the age rating to a possible AO (due to violence against pedestrians in any non-VideoGame/GrandTheftAuto game being more heavily scrutinized by the ESRB, and AO games are not permitted to be sold on any consoles), asked Grasshopper to remove this detail, to which they did comply.
** Early reports from Magazine/ElectronicGamingMonthly stated that Travis would need to investigate the identities of the UAA's assassins by himself (through missions) before challenging them to a fight, instead of just paying a fee, which would explain the empty sandbox that is Santa Destroy. This idea was somewhat reused in VideoGame/TravisStrikesAgainNoMoreHeroes for Travis and Bad Man doing investigations to find the Death Balls.
** There would also be common Mooks around the city outside of ranking fights and side-missions. The fridge in Travis' apartment, which uselessly refills your HP, is an artifact of that.
** The game (originally just titled Heroes) was going to be developed for the Platform/Xbox360, until Yasuhiro Wada, of Marvelous Entertainment, convinced Creator/Suda51 to make it for the UsefulNotes/Wii. The similar shapes of the Wii Remote and Beam Katana also helped convince him.
* WordOfGod: Travis' appearance was largely based on Creator/JohnnyKnoxville.
