11	** Due to his resemblance to the famous ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' character, Kobra was named "Ken"-- er, "Ben Masters" during development. Many fans were led to believe that a ''[[VideoGame/CapcomVs Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat]]'' game was in the works. Alas, it was just a placeholder, although Ed Boon has said he would love to do a crossover with ''Street Fighter'' at some point. Creator/{{Capcom}}, however, already pronounced themselves on ''SF'' characters getting killed off onscreen being a no-no for them.
12	** The Nethership stage was originally meant to span more areas of the ship, such as the living quarters.
13	** The BGM for the Onaga's Lair was originally a [[AutobotsRockOut guitar piece]] entitled "Dragon Slayer." It was deemed to be a bit unfitting for the atmosphere of the arena, but was included as an unlockable piece of music you can listen to in-game.
14	** Hidden away in the Krypt are unused ending slides for Onaga with full ending text, implying he was either planned to be playable or have an ending that plays when the player chose not to continue after losing to him.
