* AcclaimedFlop: Despite generally positive reviews, the show suffered from [[ScrewedByTheMerchandise low toy sales]] (a problem since the show first aired).
* ActingForTwo:
** Tabitha St. Germain as Pepper, Mona Autumn, and Nutmeg Dash.
** Samuel Vincent as Russell, Fisher Bisket, and Josh Sharp.
** Kira Tozer as Minka, Sue, and Aunt Cristie.
** Shannon Chan-Kent as Youngmee, the Bisket Twins, Madison, and Eliza Bisket.
** Only 4 voice actors voice Blythe and the seven main pets in the Russian dub. The cast is:
*** Elena Čebaturkina as Blythe, Minka and Penny Ling (replaced by Lina Ivanova in season 3)
*** Olga Golovanova as Zoe and Pepper
*** Denis Nekrasov as Russell
*** Yevgeniy Valts as Vinnie and Sunil (replaced by Vasiliy Zotov in season 3)
* ActorAllusion
** In "Sweet Pepper", Pepper has a crush on another animal and tries to change herself to impress him. In the ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' episode "Simple Ways", Rarity does the same thing. Both Pepper and Rarity are voiced by Creator/TabithaStGermain and both episodes aired on the exact same day.
** Russell is not the first character Creator/SamuelVincent played who is either a [[WesternAnimation/SonicUnderground hedgehog]] or a [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy neat freak]] (though he only did Sonic's singing voice; the rest of the time it was Jaleel White)
** In "Russell Up Some Fun" Russell utters, "Messy, messy, messy!" This was a line Creator/SamuelVincent's character Edd said a lot in ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy''.
** In "Topped with Buttercream", there is a man of few words named Earl, voiced by Peter New. [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Remind you of a certain sibling of a certain main character in a certain other show]]?
** In "The Expo Factor", Emma remarks about she wishes to be a dog when complimenting Blythe's dog sweater. Her voice actress is Brooke Goldner, who voiced a puppy named Rebound on ''WesternAnimation/PoundPuppies2010''.
** In "Littlest Pet Shop of Horrors", Blythe's Halloween costume in the ColdOpen is a cowgirl riding a pony that closely resembles Applejack.
** In the episode "Tiniest Animal Store", Zoe thinks she will played by Lola Falanagaga (the in show actress that played Blythe). Lola's voice actress is Nicole Oliver, who voices Zoe.
* CelebrityVoiceActor
** "It's The Pet Fest" has a dog character named Heidi who's voiced by Heidi Klum. Shylo Sharity does her singing though.
** Creator/CaseyWilson voices Felina Meow in "Littlest Pet Street".
* CowboyBeBopAtHisComputer: Virgin Media's summary for "What, Meme Worry?" claims "When a picture of Sunil becomes an internet meme, jealousy spreads amongst the pets, including Zoe." Zoe is the ''only'' pet to become jealous, while the others are completely supportive of Sunil's fame throughout the episode.
* CrossDressingVoices
** Jasper Jones is voiced by Creator/KathleenBarr.
** Baa Baa Lou from "Secret Cupet" is voiced by Creator/AshleighBall.
** Parker the penguin from "Winter Wonder Wha" is voiced by Creator/TabithaStGermain.
** Meow-Meow from "Room Enough" is voiced by Jocelyne Loewen.
** The male gerbil from "Ivan the Terrific" is also voiced by Barr.
* TheDanza:
** "Terriers and Tiaras" features a dog named Sam U.L., voiced by Creator/SamuelVincent. Also counts as a PunnyName.
** Creator/HeidiKlum as Heidi.
* FakeAmerican: Heidi Klum, who was born in Germany, voices Heidi in a New York accent.
* FakeBrit:
** Delilah, Gail, and [[CausticCritic Mona Autumn]] are all voiced by Creator/TabithaStGermain.
** Sam Vincent and Shannon Chan-Kent voice the Biskit Twins' parents.
** In Mrs. Amster's case, this would be FakeScot -- she's voiced by Creator/KathleenBarr.
* FollowTheLeader: It's pretty clear this show is trying to follow in the footsteps of a certain other [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Hasbro reboot]], and even shares some of the same cast and writers and airs alongside it.
* MissingEpisode: With the show's cancellation, the final five shorts were left unreleased, except in Poland.
* NoDubForYou: Only the first two seasons got dubbed in German, only the first season got dubbed in Korean, and the show never got dubbed in Japanese at all.
* NoExportForYou: Seems to be the case for the English versions of the last few shorts on Website/YouTube. Only the Polish dub of the shorts have been released, and there is little chance of them being released in English due to the show being cancelled.
** The Dutch dubs of seasons 3 and 4 were not released in the Netherlands, only in Belgium.
* NonSingingVoice:
** Zoe Trent and Penny Ling's singing voices are done by Kylee Epp and Laura Hastings.
** Heidi's singing is done by Shylo Sharity. Seeing that Heidi Klum was based in Los Angeles, this makes sense.
* OutOfOrder: Season 2 and 3 aired out of order in the US. 2 winter themed season 3 episodes were held back to air closer to Christmas. While the episodes in season 2 with the Pet Jet's introduction and the trips to Paris, Shanghai and Brazil were aired separately between other season 2 episodes. The UK airs the episodes in the correct order.
* PostScriptSeason: While the show never had much of a MythArc, season four was this for the series as the finale of season 3 ended on a big spectacle that involved the return of a lot characters implying that the writers felt that that was was going to be the last season before Hasbro gave them one more. The finale of S4 and the series as a whole felt like any other episode of the show with the only big thing to happen being [[spoiler: Roger, Blythe's father, revealing he always knew that she (and her mother) could talk to animals]]. The creators of the show actually wanted a season 5 before they got word that [[https://mobile.twitter.com/jmccah/status/741420753208279040 the show was canceled due to low toy sales.]]
* ProductionPosse:
** The show reunites many people who worked with Julie [=McNally=] Cahill & Tim Cahill on ''WesternAnimation/TheSylvesterAndTweetyMysteries'', ''WesternAnimation/BabyLooneyTunes'', and ''WesternAnimation/MyGymPartnersAMonkey''.
** From ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', we have many of the same voice actors like Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain, Nicole Oliver, Peter New, Brian Drummond, Kathleen Barr, Cathy Weseluck, Lee Tockar, and Sam Vincent, among others, with writers MA Larson (credited under his real name Mitch Larson), Corey Powell, Merriwether Williams, and Nick Confalone.
** Writer Adam Beechen brought over some of his friends from ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated'' and ''WesternAnimation/HiHiPuffyAmiYumi''.
* PromotedFanboy: MLP fan musician [=MandoPony=] [[http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/03/mandopony-invades-littlest-pet-shop.html contributed a song]] to an episode.
* RealLifeRelative: Brian Goldner, a producer at Hasbro, has his daughter Brooke Goldner voicing two characters, Emma Hart and Peachie Fluffton.
* ScrewedByTheMerchandise: Despite the show's positive reception, it got cancelled after four seasons due to poor toy sales. This is largely due to the cartoon's art style, which didn't translate well into toys and was different enough from previous eras of the franchise to alienate fans. In addition to poor quality control and wonky paint jobs, word quickly spread that the [[SuperDeformed tiny feet and large heads]] of the new toys made them top-heavy and prone to constantly falling over, causing toy sales to plummet and eventually dooming the cartoon.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The Dutch channel RTL Telekids mostly only aired the first season and rarely season 2. Seasons 3 and 4's Dutch dubs were exclusive to Belgium and were never released in the Netherlands.
* SimilarlyNamedWorks: ''WesternAnimation/BoJackHorseman'', ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'', ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure'', and ''WesternAnimation/TheNewAdventuresOfWinnieThePooh'' all also have an episode titled "Fish Out of Water".
* TyopOnTheCover:
** The title of the episode ''"Eve of Destruction"'' had "Destruction" mispelled as "Destuction" on-screen.
** On the Canadian Netflix in "Trading Places" the subtitles misspell Digby as Dibgy the second time Zoe says his name.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Except for Sunil, most of the pets originally had different names. Zoe was [[Music/LadyGaga Lady Ra Ra]], Penny was Lolly, Pepper was Jasmine, Minka was Margo, Russell was Winston and Vinnie was Tony.
* UnfinishedDub: Most dubs are this trope. Only the Arabic, Dutch, French, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin Spanish and Ukrainian dubs are complete. The Korean dub was cancelled after season 1, the German, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Turkish and Finnish dubs were cancelled after season 2, and the European Spanisn, European Portuguese, Russian, Greek, Hungarian, Czech and Romanian dubs were cancelled after season 3.
* WorkingTitle: ''Blythe Loves the Littlest Pet Shop''.
* WriterRevolt: "Topped With Buttercream" sure comes off this way. It's undoubtedly meant to promote the candy-themed LPS toys (which seem to be half the toyline), but it's not flattering to the concept at all. Characters mention off-hand the detrimental effects of a diet rich in sugar. The pets get high on sugar and turn into twitchy, paranoid, delusional savages. Buttercream seems to have been permanently damaged by sugar to the point where she has multiple verbal and physical tics. By the end of the episode, the pets ''run in fear'' from sugary snacks (although they get over it in future episodes).
