* ChildrenVoicingChildren: Despite being a CrossdressingVoice, Creator/KristinFairlie really was just 10 years old when she began voicing Little Bear. Jennifer Martini (Emily) and Ashley Taylor (Mitzi) were also preteen girls. Creator/AmosCrawley (Owl) was also just 14 at the start of the series (evident by the fact that just a year earlier he had voiced Arnold on ''WesternAnimation/TheMagicSchoolBus'', and had sounded nothing like he does as Owl), although Owl's age is [[VagueAge vague.]]
* CrossdressingVoices: Creator/KristinFairlie as the voice of the eponymous character.
* KidsMealToy: In 1999, Subway released a set of five toys based on Creator/NickJr shows. Besides the figures based on ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Kipper}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Maisy}}'' and a cloth of Face, there was a figure of Little Bear as Sherlock Bear wearing a deerstalker and holding a magnifying glass.
* OnlySoManyCanadianActors: A lot of voice actors on this show are well-known for appearing in many other Canadian animated series or other media, particularly Creator/{{Nelvana}} series, such as Creator/AmosCrawley and Creator/ElizabethHanna.
* RepeatingAd: The 2004 commercial for Orajel's kids' training toothpaste that was based on this show was so frequently played on morning programming across various channels that mothers with young children would watch (such as the syndicated talk show programming shown by networks like Creator/{{ABC}} and Creator/{{CBS}} or preschool blocks like Creator/NickJr) and ran until 2012. It was shown so frequently that it even appeared on programs that were not targeted to the commercial's demographic, like ''Series/TheDailyShow''.
* SoMyKidsCanWatch: Creator/SeanMcCann's role as Grandfather Bear is this, as he had just become a grandfather around the time the show aired.
