* ActingForTwo: Paul Frees voiced Ignatz and Offisa Pupp.
* DiedDuringProduction: Herriman died unexpectedly while the strip was still running. Unusually for a comic of the era, he was not replaced, leaving the strip at an abrupt end.
* HeAlsoDid: Derek Mogford, who directed the 1996 stop-motion short linked on the main work page, also directed the Puffs tissue commercials from the 2000s
* RealitySubtext: One arc depicts Krazy's black fur being recolored white; Ignatz falls in love with him/her, but upon discovering that Krazy is actually dark-furred, he responds by attacking him/her with a brick. Retrospective analysts note parallels with George Herriman's experiences as a mixed-race man (with both Black and white heritage) who presented as white throughout his life, hiding his kinky hair under a hat and claiming that he was ethnically Greek when pressed about it.
* ReferencedBy: Ignatz and Krazy (along with ComicStrip/{{Popeye}} and ComicStrip/{{Pogo}}) make a cameo in ''WesternAnimation/TheSpongeBobSquarePantsMovie'' in wall decorations behind [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick when they're gorging themselves on ice cream at the [[KitschyThemedRestaurant Goofy Goober's]].
** The "Traditional Animation" lesson on the educational website ''Website/BrainPOP'' showcases multiple frames of the Krazy Kat cartoons.
* ScienceMarchesOn: In the early-Twenties, wherein a strip involved a radium-painted brick, the dangers of radioactivity were not widely known, and people were, in fact, using radium as a kind of phosphorescent paint with no idea they were damaging their own health.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: According to a Website/YouTube comment from one of the animators, the 1996 stop-motion short was intended to be part of a cancelled documentary on George Herriman for the BBC.
