* ActingForTwo:
** In Getter Robo Daikessen!, several characters are voiced by the same person.
** Professor Tachibana and General Bat are both voiced by Tomihisa Aso.
** Bob Hosner and Count Rasetsu are both voiced by Akira Murakami.
** Emperor Gore, Professor Lando and John Lambert are all voiced by Kozo Shioya.
* ColbertBump:
** Thanks to Getter Arcs anime adaptation, it has introduced Getter Robo to a new audience who had not previously heard of it. The fact that it’s coinciding with the first ever western release of VideoGame/SuperRobotWars helps.
** Even before that one could argue that Armageddon, specifically its adaptations in Super Robot Wars games brought a lot of people into the franchise, to the point that they still use the Armageddon interpretations of the characters for the games's 30th anniversary.
** 2023 saw a huge rise of Getter Robo interest thanks to a certain meme involving Manga/OshiNoKo's opening "Idol" smoothly switching to Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo's opening, "STORM".
* DiedDuringProduction: After Getter Robo Arc had its serialization disrupted by the cancellation of its magazine, Creator/KenIshikawa intended to continue the series in a new magazine. Unfortunately, Ishikawa would unexpectedly die of heart failure a few years later before he could resume work on the series, rendering the hiatus permanent. Years later, Arc would receive an anime adaptation that sought to fill in the gaps left by Ishikawa's passing and provide the Getter Robo saga with a GeckoEnding.
* DisownedAdaptation: Ken Ishikawa was allegedly not happy with how the Getter Robo Go anime turned out, which is allegedly the reason why he decided to reboot the anime into a DarkerAndEdgier manga with connections to the original Getter Robo manga.
* FranchiseKiller: At least for the Anime adaptations: after New Getter Robo, there was no new Getter Robo-related animated works at all for years. This stands in stark contrast to stablemate Mazinger Z. It took them until late 2020 to even announce that Getter Robo Arc is the newest animated work of Getter to be released for 2021. Though this had less to do with New itself (as it was decently successful) and more to do with the fact that Ken Ishikawa died shortly afterwards.
* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: Oh, boy, Latin America took until 2022 to get anything related with the franchise, starting with the dubs of Armageddon and New.On the other hand, Latin America is one of the few regions, along Italy, when almost all Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa's animated works featuring robots, mainly Anime/MazingerZ, Anime/GreatMazinger, Anime/UFORoboGrendizer, Anime/Mazinkaiser, Anime/ShinMazinger, Anime/MazingerZInfinity, Anime/MazinkaiserSKL, Anime/KotetsuJeeg, Anime/Gaiking and Gloizer X, had being shown there in some form, leaving only God Mazinger Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo, Getter Robo Arc, Kotetsushin Jeeg and Psycho Armor Govarian as their only works without official releases in Latin America.
* OvertookTheManga: While other anime adaptations of the series averted this due to being largely standalone from the manga, the anime of Getter Robo Arc was produced as a direct adaptation of its manga counterpart. Since Ishikawa left the original manga unfinished, the anime's final few episodes continued from the point the manga left off to wrap up the series as best as possible.
* ReferencedBy: The Getter franchise is a staple in the VideoGame/SuperRobotWars series, being the third corner of the "Holy Trinity" alongside Franchise/Gundam and Anime/MazingerZ.
** It's appeared so many times that it's easier to name the entries that don't feature it in some capacity. Such games include J, K, L, UX, BX and X. The first home console entry to exclude =Getter
** Originally, the most common Getter entry present was Getter Robo G. Shin Getter vs Neo Getter, appears in Reversal and GC/XO, Armageddon appeared in Destiny, and New Getter appeared in NEO. Armageddon, however, made a triumphant return in VideoGame/Super Robot Wars Z2, and has since become SRW's go-to Getter entry, with T and 30 letting the Armageddon version of the old Getter Team pilot the Daikessen version of Shin Getter Dragon.
** Shin Getter is also part of a group called the Three Gods by much of the fandom, the other two being Genesic GaoGaiGar and Anime/Mazinkaiser. In-game and in promotional art, those three robots are considered pretty much the biggest heroes of the SuperRobot type and are always shown front-and-center. Though fans consider the-yet-to-be-featured Getter Emperor to be some sort of 'Overdeity' to compete with Mazinger's Mazinger Zero.
* TheOtherDarrin: The OVA's replaces the cast of the 70's anime with a new one:
** After Creator/AkiraKamiya's retirement, Creator/HideoIshikawa took the role of Ryouma. He almost became a ReplacementScrappy in some parts of the fandom for trying to keep with the DarkerAndEdgier setting by giving his own spins to his voice work. Overall, Ishikawa being Ryoma became much more accepted, especially after Kamiya's statement that years of doing HotBlooded SuperRobotGenre heroes (and another high pitched fighting hero) left him unable to do something similar so the former more or less became the latter's de facto successor for Ryoma. Oddly enough, they got Creator/AkiraKamiya to reprise Ryoma in Daikessen!, only to replace him with Creator/HideoIshikawa again in future entries.
** Hayato's role goes from Creator/KeatonYamada to Creator/NaoyaUchida, to Creator/YasunoriMasutani (In Daikessen!) to Creator/NaoyaUchida again. And Creator/ShinpachiTsuji replaces Toku Nishio in the role of Musashi, only to be replaced again with Yasuhiko Kawazu. Shin Vs Neo changes yet AGAIN Musashi's voice actor, this time, to Creator/KiyoyukiYanada, only to then change recast Shinpachi Tsuji as the character again in the anime version of Arc.
* RoleReprise: While the video game Getter Robo: Daikessen uses its own cast for most of the characters, this did not apply to Creator/AkiraKamiya, who reprised his role as Ryouma.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Besides Ishikawa's death, Imagawa was the one who directed the first 3 episodes of Armageddon. Everything was shaping up for an intense mystery martial arts mecha mashup with all of Ishikawa's series joining the fray. Then he got sacked, simply for taking a little too long. He took the scripts with him, leaving the replacement director to make up a new story that could make sense of what happened in the first three episodes despite not knowing what the endgame was meant to be.
** Musashi's famous HeroicSacrifice was originally planned to go to Ryoma, but ExecutiveMeddling demanded someone more expendable, due to belief that it would hurt toy sales. Ironically, at the time, Musashi was likely the show's most popular character, which caused it to hit far harder than an ordinary case of TheHeroDies.
