* ActorAllusion:
** In "Operation: Wingman". Noah, who is played by Creator/FredSavage, goes to prom with Claire, a girl voiced by Creator/DanicaMcKellar, who is well-known for playing Savage's love interest Winnie Cooper in ''Series/TheWonderYears''.
** Hunter Cain was able to rouse people into a frenzy and get them on his side? Yep. Super strong? Definitely. [[Wrestling/JohnCena Does anyone know a wrestler like that?]] [[WrestlerinAllofUs He also hits Rex with an Attitude Adjustment]]
* BonusEpisode: The last episode of the series aired was "Rock My World", which doesn't really have anything to do with the overall plot. However, it seems that the producers realized it would be the very last episode instead of "End Game" and threw in an AnimationBump, SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic original to that episode, some light {{Fanservice}} by bringing back Holiday's little sister, and crafted the plot to be just 22 minutes of [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Rex being awesome]] to let the series end on a high note.
* DescendedCreator: Creator/ManOfActionStudios themselves as their {{author avatar}}s, the gang of teenage delinquents who call themselves "men of action".
* FakeBrit: Creator/TroyBaker, an American, uses a British accent when voicing Van Kleiss.
* FollowTheLeader:
** A show about a young man who gains superpowers and travels the country/world in a team of three, fighting monsters-[[WesternAnimation/{{Ben 10}} hey, wait a minute]]!
** It's made by the same people; looks like they weren't done with making adventures.
** The series main character, his powers and the title may seem rather familiar for anyone who's seen ''Anime/GeneratorGawl'', though the overeaching plots of the two series are wildly different.
** And there are many similarities to [[http://www.firestorm-ink.com/fi_news.html Cybergeneration]] - ongoing global nanotech apocalypse, heavy-handed government agencies, and most of the [=EVOs=] with human intelligence are teenagers.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Peter Meechum was played by Creator/JeffBennett in his debut, then by Creator/WilWheaton.
** In his debut episode, Hunter Cain was voiced by Wrestling/JohnCena. Ever since, he's been voiced by Creator/JohnDiMaggio. Probably has something to do with the fact that Cena's WWE schedule is pretty time-consuming.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Wrestling/JohnCena is a goody-goody two shoes. Hunter Cain is his exact opposite.
** Creator/HyndenWalch, who usually voices {{Moe}}s and overly-cutesy characters, voices the insanely creepy Breach.
** Creator/GreyDeLisle as [[NiceGirl Dr. Holiday]] can be seen as this, considering that she usually voices [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Jerks With A Heart of Gold]], jerks, villains, and morally ambiguous characters.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Only the first 9 episodes have ever been released to DVD; thankfully, the entire series is on iTunes and Creator/{{Netflix}}.[[note]] This includes the BonusEpisode "Rock My World", in case you were wondering. [[/note]] However, there are 2 missing episodes from the "Season 3" batch for some reason on iTunes, leaving the series incomplete on that service. Not only that, but only the episodes in "Season 5" are available to buy in HD for some reason, when the entire series was produced in the format. As of mid-2017, the two episodes are now available on iTunes. Still not HD, though.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The back half of the final season went straight to [=iTunes=], despite network promises that it would actually be aired. It did actually air... ten months later, where it was quickly shown over a few days in the morning, and is still missing two episodes.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Earlier character designs for Rex were much closer to that of the original ''M. Rex'' comic.
** The series was originally going to be a {{shared universe}} with Man of Action's other Cartoon Network series, ''Franchise/Ben10'', but toyline legal issues prevented this from coming to fruition. [[note]](''Ben 10'' toys were done by Bandai, while ''Generator Rex'' was under Toys/{{Mattel}}.)[[/note]] The two series would eventually meet in a crossover, but the shared universe idea wouldn't happen until ''WesternAnimation/Ben102016'', where younger versions of Rex, Robo, and Agent Six characters appear in one of its final episodes.
