* AdoredByTheNetwork: Nickelodeon aired this series frequently for at least two years, as did the Creator/{{Nicktoons}} channel in the early 2010s. Even to this day, it still shows up on the latter channel occasionally. This is a rarity for pre-2010 Nickelodeon shows not named ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'', ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'', or ''[[WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutronBoyGenius Jimmy Neutron]]'', and the series even got to air on Creator/TeenNick as part of Creator/NickRewind for a brief time in 2019.
* BannedInChina: The show is banned in India due to its depiction of cows, which are seen as sacred creatures in Hindu religion.
* CastTheExpert: Root the Rooster, a comedian and host for the barn's usual parties, is voiced by actual professional comedian, Earthquake.
* CreatorsApathy: According to Creator/ChrisHardwick's appearance on ''Podcast/TalkinToonsWithRobPaulsen'', after the crew got the word that the show was canceled, they basically went completely off the rails and did whatever they wanted free of consequences. At one point, the voice cast got together and started singing an impromptu song called [[RefugeInAudacity "Dick Tits"]]. When a Nickelodeon executive, allegedly one of the same heads of the network who announced the cancellation, walked in on them, head writer Jed Spingarn casually greeted him with, "Oh hey Roland, what're you gonna do? Cancel us some more?"
* InMemoriam: "Otis' Mom" was dedicated to Creator/RobPaulsen's mother, Lee.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Otis is voiced by Creator/KevinJames in the movie and by Chris Hardwick in the series. Etta is voiced by Creator/AndieMacDowell in the movie and Creator/LeighAllynBaker in the series. Averted with pretty much every other character, who kept their voice actors for the series.
** In regards to the series itself, Everett is voiced by Rob Paulsen instead of Lloyd Sherr (his regular actor) in "Otis' Mom", Creator/JohnDiMaggio in "Dead Cow Walking", and by Creator/BillyWest in "Save the Clams".
** While the movie was recorded in Mexico, the series was instead recorded in Venezuela like several other Nicktoons of the time. As a result the entire cast was replaced.
* RecycledScript: "Free Schmoozy" is very similar to the ''[[WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutronBoyGenius Jimmy Neutron]]'' episode "Monster Hunt". For bonus points, Gene Grillo wrote both episodes, Creator/JimCummings1952 voices both captains, and Rob Paulsen voices the token nerdy character.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The show would regularly go on long and frequent hiatuses right from the start. Episodes would stop premiering after September 2010. Even reruns would stop for a while too, as they would air more often on Nickelodeon's sister channel, Nicktoons, even though the show was airing pretty consistently beforehand. Eventually, the show was kicked straight to Nicktoons a year later. Of course, this also led to it being burned off in just two months during a dead zone night time slot. Another thing is that the show made a comeback to the main channel shortly after its cancellation around late 2011-early 2012, only to air at 6:30 in the morning (which meant that people who either didn't have a working DVR or weren't willing enough to stay up late or sleep early were screwed) up until November 2012 where it was completely abandoned from the channel altogether.
* ThrowItIn: Right from the start of the recording sessions the voice cast was given the memo the series would be cancelled, this basically allowed them to go hog wild with the dialogue which explains its looser feel in the final product. The Dr. Pig segments themselves were entirely improvised by Pig's VA Tino Insana.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Freddy was originally to be a mongoose rather than a ferret.
