[[folder:''Arthur'']]
!!''WesternAnimation/{{Arthur}}''
* In the "Pal and Kate speak" episodes, Francine's pet cat Nemo is hated for playing the CatsAreMean stereotype a little too straight.
* Ladonna Compson and her little brother Bud are seen as two annoying and unneeded characters by many fans of the series. The fact that they're introduced in such a way that they have a more developed backstory than some of the previous main characters, such as Sue Ellen or Fern, or the fact that these two have become very close best friends to the Read siblings so fast has rubbed some people the wrong way. In later seasons they end up getting a lion's share of episodes [[SpotlightStealingSquad at the expense of other characters]]. They were also introduced as soon as the show switched to cheaper Flash animation, which to many fans is a point of SeasonalRot for the show, which definitely doesn't help for Ladonna and Bud.
* The Tibble Twins are not very well-liked, due to the fact that they are both very bratty and dimwitted, and very rarely get punished for their actions. While they may have a FreudianExcuse (their parents aren't around, so they are taken care of by their grandmother, who seems to spoil them), that doesn't excuse the fact that they misbehave so much, they make D.W. look like a saint in comparison. Also, they've become [[CreatorsPet incredibly overexposed]] over the years.
* Jenna Morgan doesn't seem to be liked simply for being "ugly" and [[FlatCharacter uninteresting]]. The writers clearly took notice of this, as she went back to being a LivingProp after Season 9's "Binky Goes Nuts". After Season 10's "Do You Speak George?", she went a full five seasons as nothing more than a drawing in the background, without being so much as referenced, talked to, or mentioned, and it wasn't until Season 18 that the writers finally broke her silence of almost a decade.
* Lydia Fox has been accused of this due to the fact that A) She was originally a fan's OriginalCharacter who was inserted into the show, and B) She mostly appears in episodes where her being in a wheelchair is a relevant plot point [[note]]being in a wheelchair itself isn't the reason but the fact that it's brought up a lot means that other character traits [[{{Flanderization}} could be sidelined in favor of her being in a wheelchair]][[/note]].

[[folder:''Ben 10'']]
!!''Franchise/Ben10''
* ''WesternAnimation/Ben10'': Kai, for being [[KickTheDog interested in Ben only because she wanted to tame one of his forms as a pet]] in her debut episode, which was also her only episode in the original series. When the character finally reappeared in ''Omniverse'' (three series and about six in-universe years later), it would only sink her reputation further due to her [[DieForOurShip singlehandedly angering almost all the shippers by turning]] ''[[DieForOurShip every other love interest for Ben up to that point]]'' into [[RomanticFalseLead Romantic False Leads]] thanks to a ''huge'' case of StrangledByTheRedString[[note]]the producers wanted to make good on an episode from the original series that they married in the future[[/note]]: pretty much every scene she had with Ben involved them arguing or her seemingly being more interested in his alien forms than the man himself, and yet the other characters treat this as BelligerentSexualTension, one of Ben's love interests outright steps aside because YouCantFightFate, ''and'' their KidFromTheFuture shows up to shill the pairing even more. Fans weren't convinced, to say the least.
* ''WesternAnimation/Ben10AlienForce'': Despite having not done much of anything, good or bad, Julie became the fandom's Scrappy surprisingly fast. This is mainly because [[DieForOurShip she's seen as a barrier in the path of]] the [[FanPreferredCouple fan preferred]] [[KissingCousins Gwen/Ben]], or for the HoYayShipping fans, Kevin/Ben. The character would zig-zag between this and RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap up until ''Omniverse'' thanks to occasionally [[TookALevelInJerkass taking a level in jerkass]]. A good amount of fans did feel sorry for her and were very furious when writers had Julie break up with Ben in ''Omniverse'' and brought back Kai.[[note]]Via PoorCommunicationKills, they break up by accident when she calls Ben during a ''video game''.[[/note]]
* ''WesternAnimation/Ben10UltimateAlien'':
** Trumbipulor didn't exactly impress anyone during his small appearances. Most fans agree ''Omniverse'' did a mistake by bringing him back later.
** Fasttrack is one of the less popular aliens, being viewed as an inferior replacement to EnsembleDarkhorse [=XLR8=]. He ends up being PutOnABus in ''Omniverse''.
* ''WesternAnimation/Ben10Omniverse'' has this trope applying to almost all background comedic characters, but [[CreatorsPet Blukic and Driba]], a pair of Galvan named after writers Butch Lukic and Dan Riba, deserve a special mention. They have practically become the franchise's own Jar Jar Binks by now.
** Pax deserves a special mention, being a walking hippie stereotype with AnimalWrongsGroup tendencies whose very existence contradicts ''Secret of the Omnitrix'' (where Florauna were portrayed as feral and carnivorous).
** Harangue managed to get ''even more'' hatred than he already had in ''Ultimate Alien'', when he was a HateSink for his role as a [[ComicBook/SpiderMan J. Jonah Jameson]] {{Expy}}, when he ''praised'' the Incurseans for invading Earth and getting rid of Ben. He winds up with a KarmaHoudiniWarranty when his later collaboration with the Forever Knights sees Ben (as Jury Rigg) [[KarmicTransformation turn him into an alien]].
** The aliens introduced in "Outbreak" (namely Walkatrout, Pesky Dust, Mole-Stache, and the Worst), due to all four of them having poor designs (the design process was literally just picking some of the preexisting "civilian" background aliens) and being introduced as nothing else than {{Joke Character}}s. Pesky Dust had its powers revealed ''28 episodes later'', Molestache and the Worst ''46'' (And Mole-Stache's was revealed in a deleted scene, with that), and Walkatrout ''never'' did (and according to WordOfGod, his sole power is to ''[[WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway walk]]'').[[note]]The later reveals of Pesky Dust's and Mole-Stache's powers actually made them RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap, as Pesky Dust turned out to be the first alien with ''sleep and dream manipulation'' powers, and [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes being a fear]] of [[EgomaniacHunter Khyber the Huntsman]], whereas Mole-Stache's mustache had a surprising utility in it being able to spin like a propeller and form into fists. As for The Worst, he has super durability but that's it.[[/note]]
** While Rad Dudesman wasn't particularly disliked when first introduced, he started becoming this trope after his portrayal in ''Galactic Monsters'', where he TookALevelInJerkass.
** Collectimus, due to being a very obnoxious character and a blatant TakeThatAudience. Fans, especially those who liked the ''Alien Force''[=/=]''Ultimate Alien'' era, were not amused.
** [[TrueFinalBoss Maltruant]] is not particularly well-liked due to being a generic megalomaniac in a series whose megalomaniac quotient has already been filled and then some, as well as [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter a complete waste of a good concept]] [[Creator/MarkHamill and voice actor]]. Not helped by the fact [[AGodAmI his final plan]] is nearly identical to the previous series' first antagonist, Aggregor.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Family Guy'']]
!!''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''
* Jasper, Brian's gay cousin. Calling him CampGay is too liberal; instead suffice it to say that he's a rude conglomeration of almost every offensive gay stereotype ever conceived. He became even worse when the writers decided to make him a key player in an episode advocating gay rights, [[BrokenAesop in one of the most counter-effective attempts at activism ever on the show]]. This same problem occurred with Quagmire's transgender mother way later on. Despite many people considering Jasper to be the homosexual equivalent of the EthnicScrappy (especially other gays), Creator/SethMacFarlane stated in an interview that Jasper was supposed to ''appeal to the gay audience''. To say that backfired is an understatement. Convincing Brian to hurt Stewie's feelings and sabotage his play certainly hasn't made him any more endearing.
* Conway - [[OverlyLongGag You Can Take A Bathroom Break Now]] Twitty. The fact that he hasn't appeared since the episode which he had a nearly three-minute-long scene (in a 23-minute long ep no less) and it was rated the worst episode in the series probably states that the writers got the hint. This was eventually acknowledged in "3 Acts of God" when God tells Peter "Oh, by the way, Conway Twitty says, 'Cut it out! Just write a joke!'".
* Vern and Johnny, who were two vaudeville actors placed in the show as a gag, were severely hated by fans for being very annoying and bland. They got so much hate that the creators of the show eventually decided to kill them both off and treated fans to seeing them meet their demise at the hands of Stewie in "Saving Private Brian", only for them to appear one last time in "Back to the Woods" (Vern as a ghost and Johnny in Hell because he was attracted to underaged boys). These two characters were also wearing out their welcome with the writers: on the DVD commentary for "Saving Private Brian", it's stated that one of the reasons they were killed off is because the writers felt they were becoming overly reliant on Vern and Johnny, cutting to them whenever the writers couldn't come up with anything better.
* Loretta Brown as some fans noticed that she only existed on the show just to be Cleveland's wife. Her day in the limelight episode even involved her cheating on Cleveland with Quagmire just because her husband's laid-back personality didn't provide her any passion. She is even considered to be a Scrappy by her own voice actress, Alex Bornstein, as she found the character to be too difficult for her to voice.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Hey Arnold!'']]
!!''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold''
* Lila is widely disliked for two reasons: a reasonable one (she's "ever-so" irritating), and a... not-so-reasonable one (DieForOurShip in regards to Arnold/Helga, even though Lila repeatedly states she doesn't "LIKE like" Arnold and isn't a real threat to the ship, regardless of what [[{{Tsundere}} Helga]] might think). It doesn't help that she has a tendency to lead Arnold into thinking he may have a chance, only to crush his hopes when he asks if there's anything between them, but that was really a problem with the RomanticPlotTumor of later seasons as a whole and not just Lila. Lila ends up being DemotedToExtra after Arnold finally gets the hint and stops pursuing her in "Timberly Loves Arnold[=/=]Eugene, Eugene!" only appearing as a non-speaking background character in the subsequent episodes and [[WesternAnimation/HeyArnoldTheMovie both]] [[WesternAnimation/HeyArnoldTheJungleMovie movies]].
* Olga, Helga's "perfect" older sister, was established with some HiddenDepths to her in BecomingTheMask and always feeling like she has to live up to her parents' impossible standards. However, it also made Olga into a {{Hypocrite}} who goes out of her way to get her parents' attention. Not to mention, Olga doesn't seem to grasp the extent of Helga's ParentalNeglect, nor does she seem to follow through with promises she makes to Helga. For example, when Olga becomes an assistant teacher for Helga's class, Helga pleaded with her to keep any embarrassing stories out. Olga either forgets or deliberately tells an embarrassing story to the class after Stinky fails a test. As a result, Olga became UnintentionallyUnsympathetic to the audience.
* Gerald's younger sister Timberly is disliked by most of the fandom due to her being an AnnoyingYoungerSibling and often getting in the way or ruining Arnold and Gerald's plans. Screwing over Arnold and Gerald ''twice'' in "Chocolate Turtles" being a major example.
* Principal Wartz has quite a few haters for acting like a tyrannical douchebag and being far too cruel to both the students and the teachers when giving out punishments. Even Arnold called him out for continuing to extend Harold's suspension despite Harold literally begging for mercy, and in return, Wartz suspends him for two days.
* Similar but to a lesser extent is Coach Wittenburg, who seems to suffer from AesopAmnesia regarding his hyper-competitive nature in every appearance he makes.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Looney Tunes'']]
!!''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes''
* Buddy, the studio's main character from 1933-1935. Unusually for a Scrappy, he wasn't that annoying. In fact, he wasn't really ''anything'' at all -- his problem was that he had absolutely zero personality, which was compounded by the dull, plotless cartoons that he starred in.
** This was parodied in the ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'' "65th Anniversary Special," where it is revealed that Yakko, Wakko, and Dot gained their popularity by showing up in all of Buddy's cartoons and smashing him with a wooden mallet. [[spoiler: He later turns out to be the antagonist of the segment, attempting to assassinate the Warners with a bomb only to be HoistByHisOwnPetard, which was ironic, seeing as they were in the middle of ''praising'' him for helping launch their career.]]
* The series introduced a whole ''army'' of Scrappies in the late 1960s when the [[UsefulNotes/TheGoldenAgeOfAnimation original creative staff]] was dumped and Alex Lovy took over the studio. In a desperate attempt to stay in the game, Lovy created some new characters to supplant the classic line-up, and we were treated to [[SarcasmMode such memorable]] characters as Cool Cat, Merlin the Magic Mouse, and Bunny and Claude. The new characters proved unimaginative, unfunny and unmemorable, and it was soon game over for the original ''Looney Tunes'' series. One "Cool Cat" cartoon even went to the trouble to introduce "Spooky", a seriously dull ghost character, with a mention in the opening titles. A case of hitching your wagon to a sinking ship there. By this point the few original characters still present in the shorts were considered Scrappies as well. Daffy and Speedy in particular due to personality changes (especially Daffy, whose {{Jerkass}} behavior was [[{{Flanderization}} flanderized]] to the point that he whipped mice for ''[[FelonyMisdemeanor starving on his property]]'') and a questionable team-up of the two, though granted outside this [[AudienceAlienatingEra era]] they are {{Ensemble Dark Horse}}s more than anything else.
* Gabby Goat, Porky's rude and ill-tempered sidekick in the 1930s. He was intended as a foil to the shy, easygoing Porky, but this did not work out as well as the creators had hoped, as audiences found him more obnoxious than funny. This led to him being PutOnABus after appearing in only three cartoons, and didn't appear in ''Looney Tunes'' shows again until ''WesternAnimation/WabbitALooneyTunesProduction'' in 2018, 80 years after his final appearance in the original shorts, though he was significantly reworked to be a DeadpanSnarker, which [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap made him more tolerable]].
* Henery Hawk from the WesternAnimation/FoghornLeghorn cartoons, due to being a BrattyHalfPint, and it doesn't help his case that he was the primary influence for the {{Trope Namer|s}}. Although he has his fans as well.
* Sylvester Jr. is this to many fans who find him an annoying brat and being from the fan unfavorite Hippety Hopper shorts, hence why he is rarely used in modern incarnations.
* ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'':
** Elmyra, especially after ''WesternAnimation/PinkyElmyraAndTheBrain''. Before she became a CreatorsPet, though, she was pretty well-liked. It was only after they started shoehorning her into ''everything'' that everyone started hating her. And after a certain short involving her and [[EnsembleDarkhorse Fifi LaFume]]. It's particularly bad enough that ever since the reboot of ''[[WesternAnimation/Animaniacs2020 Animaniacs]]'' the ''Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain'' series has been [[CanonDiscontinuity completely retconned out of existence]] '''and''' her character was absent for the first season of ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonsLooniversity'' outside of the theme song.
** [[IronicName Sweetie]] is also hated for being a {{Jerkass}} who torments [[TheWoobie Furball]] and for being a bit of a KarmaHoudini. It is telling that ''Tiny Toons Looniversity'' completely revamped her character into a BruiserWithASoftCenter, to much better reception.
* The SpinoffBabies adaptation ''WesternAnimation/BabyLooneyTunes'' has its version of Melissa and Petunia; the former is disliked for being a BrattyHalfPint, the latter for being a FlatCharacter, and both are disliked for the fact that [[RememberTheNewGuy they were suddenly added to the cast halfway through the first season]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''My Little Pony'']]
!!''Franchise/MyLittlePony''
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyAndFriends'': Molly and Danny from the original series aren't exceptionally liked by the fanbase, seen as {{Annoying Younger Sibling}}s to Megan who weren't needed since Megan was good enough.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTales'': Ace is the most hated character for not only treating girls like crap and using them for his own purposes (only made worse by the fact that the show is aimed for girls) but for also being a {{Jerkass}} in general. Not helped is he's the only main character to not get a proper focus episode ("Just for Kicks" is a Starlight episode).
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'': Snips and Snails gained a lot of ire early on for being dopey obnoxious {{Karma Houdini}}s in their debut episode, where they got rewarded for their stupidity while DesignatedVillain Trixie Lulamoon [[KarmicOverkill got punished too harshly]]. By the second and third seasons, their appearances were limited enough that their Scrappy status dwindled, and their roles in episodes like "Magic Duel" ([[TakeThatScrappy wherein they get humiliated over the course of the episode]] by Trixie) were to those episodes' benefit. Snails at least gained some love from his portrayal in "Buckball Season", which finally gave him some characterization outside of an obnoxious moron. Too bad for both Snips and Snails that they still had a long way to go before they could be considered RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap, but being OutOfFocus beyond one or two episodes meant that they ended the series without much development and without ever escaping their Scrappy status.
* ''[[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls Equestria Girls]]'':
** Flash Sentry [[TaintedByThePreview was hated from announcement]] as a LoveInterest for Twilight Sparkle out of DieForOurShip and [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic the parent series]] avoiding unnecessary romance. In [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls1 the film proper]] him being a FlatCharacter with no meaningful plot contributions (His being [[BigBad Sunset Shimmer's]] ex-boyfriend has no bearing on either. The sub-plot of him [[ClearMyName providing evidence exonerating Twilight]] was so brief and [[{{Padding}} tacked-on it could have been cut without changing anything]]) or reason for Twilight [[StrangledByTheRedString to immediately crush on him]] despite never showing any romantic inclinations for anyone prior did no favors. Tellingly is as the ''Equestria Girls'' series GrewTheBeard, rather than fix him [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap like Sunset]], they made Flash a ButtMonkey over and [[ShipSinking sunk his romance with Twilight]] while [[DemotedToExtra reducing his prominence]]. While this did improve Flash's popularity by making some fans fell bad for him and triggered his CharacterDevelopment into a good-natured goofball at peace with not being a love interest by the digital shorts, it was too late/not enough to make his hate fully disappear.
** Juniper Montage from ''[[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsMagicalMovieNight Mirror Magic]]'' lost her likable traits from the prior ''Movie Magic'' short. ''Mirror Magic'' has her grab hold of the VillainBall with both hands, dropping her BitchInSheepsClothing attitude and just becoming a straight {{Jerkass}}. Most of her cruelty happens ''before'' [[UnintentionallyUnsympathetic the magical corruption that was supposed to keep her sympathetic]], so she doesn't have the excuse of being DrunkOnTheDarkSide. She also abruptly incapacitates the heroes so the [[BaseBreakingCharacter controversial]] Starlight Glimmer [[SpotlightStealingSquad can save the day alone]]. Also, Juniper's OneWingedAngel form was considered so [[FashionVictimVillain tacky]] and [[AntiClimaxBoss non-threatening]] that the creators of ''Equestria Girls'' [[AuthorsSavingThrow made sure to say that the next installment wouldn't have such a transformation]]. Juniper's [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap better received]] in the {{Novelization}}, where she shows more remorse and her briefly mentioned FriendlessBackground is expanded upon to give her a FreudianExcuse, but it ultimately wasn't enough to save Juniper from her fate as a Scrappy.
** Vignette Valencia from ''[[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsRollercoasterOfFriendship Rollercoaster of Friendship]]'' is seen as the weakest villain and redemption in the ''Equestria Girls'' franchise, lacking the FreudianExcuse or remorse that's defended in the other controversial redemptions as well as lacking memorability, entertaining traits or credibility as a threat due to her poorly thought-out plan. Her shallow and annoying personality, questionable fashion sense, and MeanBoss tendencies even before being DrunkOnTheDarkSide didn't help. Season 2 of the shorts put her in a better light but was seen as too little too late and would have been better spent on returning more popular characters.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Scooby-Doo'']]
!!''Franchise/ScoobyDoo''
* The {{Trope Namer|s}} is Scrappy-Doo. Scrappy was introduced in 1979 as Scooby-Doo's nephew in a bid to revitalize the franchise when its popularity was beginning to wane. And it worked; [[KidAppealCharacter children adored Scrappy]], and thus the show remained a staple of Saturday morning entertainment. The main reason Scrappy is so associated with unintentionally hated characters is that the show's existing fanbase didn't like him. And those that didn't like Scrappy ''really'' didn't like him. It wasn't really an indictment of the character of Scrappy himself so much as the GenreShift he precipitated -- the show soon switched to a ThreeShorts format, relegated Fred and Velma to guest appearances and dropped Daphne entirely, and introduced real monsters instead of the series' standard ScoobyDooHoax.[[note]]That last complaint might seem odd to modern fans, being used to the gang (and [[Main/SpoofyDoo those like them]]) facing off against real supernatural threats, but back then it was not accepted among the fanbase, and it wouldn't be until 1998's ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland''.[[/note]] The shorts' format lasted for three seasons and gained neutral to positive reception, but many fans never warmed to the shift, and thus took all of their anger out on Scrappy. The 1984 incarnation ''WesternAnimation/TheNewScoobyDooMysteries'' slowly moved back to two shorts, reintroduced Daphne, and made the monsters fake again (or at least [[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane ambiguous as to their true nature]]), but Scrappy got a lot more screen time at the expense of Fred and Velma, even finding clues or delivering TheSummation. After two seasons of that, the showrunners abruptly dropped Fred and Velma altogether and embraced the "real monsters" concept. Fans believed that Scrappy had effectively replaced the characters they loved. And those who didn't like Scrappy as a character -- and there were many, as he was brash, abrasive, foolhardy, and generally not fitting in the show's aesthetic -- were quick to blame him for all of the changes that they didn't like. It wasn't until Hanna-Barbera sold the property to Warner Bros. in 1998 that the franchise gave Fred, Velma, and Daphne their prominent roles again. Ever since, Scrappy has become an in-joke as the most hated character in the series -- [[Film/ScoobyDoo2002 the 2002 live-action/CGI movie]] goes out of its way to bash him, and he's had increasingly sporadic appearances since, only showing up to get a cheap gag in about how much nobody likes him if he shows up at all. In retrospect, Scrappy was {{Misblamed}} for things that happened which weren't aspects of his character, and the fanbase has started to soften up to him to the point where he's merely a BaseBreakingCharacter instead of an outright Scrappy these days. Even so, the sheer vitriol that Scrappy once got (and still gets, in some circles) ensures that the stigma of being unintentionally hated will forever be attached to him, which is why he's the Trope Namer.
* In the original ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooWhereAreYou'', Buck Masters AKA the "Indian Witch Doctor" is possibly the most reviled villain, as not only is his costume a racist Native American caricature but he just isn't at ''all'' even the least bit intimidating. Furthermore, his motivation for wanting to win a dog show is absurdly petty, and the "Native American" ghost theme doesn't tie into dognapping and just comes off as unnecessary racism. Tellingly, he's rarely been referenced compared to other foes and is replaced in the 2022 ''Scoob'' version of the theme song by the Space Kook.
* Scrappy was outdone by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG1wuVE3RSY Scooby-Dum]], Scooby-Doo's inbred hillbilly cousin. Although he lasted only four episodes, he was absolutely ''painful'' to watch. He was so moronic that he'd make Scrappy, [[TheFool Scooby]], and [[TheStoner Shaggy]] all look intelligent by comparison. Scooby would literally have to drag him over to fairly obvious hiding spots and lead him away from danger on chases -- basically, he was TooDumbToLive.
* ''WesternAnimation/The13GhostsOfScoobyDoo'' had Flim-Flam, an EthnicScrappy who managed to be the most reviled character on the show, even though Scrappy himself was also on it. (Although part of that is that the show's setup made better use of Scrappy's attitude and behavior, making him RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap.) Flim-Flam was so poorly thought of that in ''Mystery Incorporated'', Daphne mentions that he was imprisoned for his ConArtist antics. Surprisingly, when Warner Bros. decided to finally finish that series with ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheCurseOfThe13thGhost'', Flim-Flam got a second chance, having gotten an AgeLift; this, combined with a change in personality, managed to rescue him from Scrappy status for some.
* ''WesternAnimation/ShaggyAndScoobyDooGetAClue'' had Robi, the automated butler to [[OddballInTheSeries the now-wealthy Shaggy and Scooby living in their missing rich uncle's mansion and fighting an evil supervillain]]. Think of Robi as WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget with the idiocy and annoyance cranked up a notch, and acting as a butler instead of a crimefighter. He even randomly gives out safety tips like Gadget does, but early on or in the middle of an episode (instead of [[AndKnowingIsHalfTheBattle saving them for the end]]), and sometimes does gags that are completely random and not relevant to the plot. Worse yet, Robi actually accompanies Shaggy and Scooby on some missions, where he does all of his usual annoying schtick.
-->'''Robi:''' ''(randomly mending and speaking in [[BorschtBelt a stereotypical Jewish accent]])'' Shaggy! You vant I should hem your trousers?
* ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooReturnToZombieIsland'', already poorly received, introduces Alan Smithee, an obnoxious slimeball director trying to make a movie based on the legend of Moonscar Island [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland from the first Zombie Island film.]] Not only does Smithee's presence turn a followup to one of the most acclaimed Scooby stories into just another gimmicky DTV schlockfest where the danger and monsters are fake, but Mystery Inc is actually ''[[IdiotBall on-board with his movie]]'' despite how Smithee initially filmed them without permission and is exploiting a place where hundreds to thousands of people were horribly murdered. Worst of all, [[KarmaHoudini he finds Moonscar's treasure and walks away rich.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''The Simpsons'']]
!!''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons''
* In the ShowWithinAShow, ''JustForFun/TheItchyAndScratchyShow'', Poochie is viewed as such [[InUniverse by the characters in the show.]] His debut is universally panned for being excessively pretentious, obnoxious, and painfully unfunny. Eventually, the creators lazily get rid of him via a BusCrash.
* Dr. Marvin Monroe with his very raspy annoying voice; it even did damage to voice actor Creator/HarryShearer's real voice (Shearer wanted Monroe removed). He doubles as a CreatorsPest, because even Matt Groening hated Monroe simply because his voice annoyed him, and thus he was dropped.
* The Crazy Cat Lady gets a lot of heat for having one joke [[FlatCharacter (it's in the name)]] that keeps getting used long after it stopped being funny.
* Rich Texan as well, for the same reason - his one joke is that he's a tired Texan cowboy stereotype.
* The Yes Guy is a similar one-joke character. His entire shtick consists of an exaggerated "Yeeeeeeeees" pronunciation a la comedian Frank Nelson. He was introduced in season 10 and his (admittedly infrequent) appearances quickly lost their humor.
* Gil Gunderson. He was introduced in "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS9E9RealtyBites Realty Bites]]" as a parody of Creator/JackLemmon in ''Theatre/GlengarryGlenRoss'', but soon became a recurring character. While occasionally amusing, Gil's never developed beyond being a StrawLoser despite receiving several [[ADayInTheLimelight focus episodes]]. It doesn't help that he occasionally works as an incompetent attorney, which led many to label him a ReplacementScrappy for [[Creator/PhilHartman Lionel Hutz]] (notably, Gil's first appearance was also Hutz's final voiced appearance).
* Herb Powell, due to him blaming Homer for ruining his company and [[NeverMyFault refusing to acknowledge his own responsibility]]. Those not fond of Herb view his later reconciliation episode with Homer as undeserved, and his subsequently becoming broke again as LaserGuidedKarma.
* Luann Van Houten was made UnintentionallyUnsympathetic following her divorce from Kirk. Before that happened, Luann had [[FlatCharacter little characterization beyond being Milhouse's mom]]. When tensions between Luann and Kirk come to a head and they start throwing out how mutually unhappy they are with each other, Luann's the one to propose a divorce. But after that, she reinvents herself by becoming a complete bitch who [[NeverMyFault acts like her marriage failed all because of Kirk]], alternates between trying to [[ParentalAbandonment foist Milhouse on Kirk]] and [[TakingTheKids trying to get sole custody of Milhouse out of spite]], demands all of Kirk's money for alimony, and then cheats on her numerous boyfriends. Even getting remarried to Kirk did little to improve Luann's horrible attitude, since she treats Kirk like trash when she finds out he dated while they were divorced. While one could argue she might have some right to be mad if Kirk hid it from her, that he felt he had lied to her makes her a giant {{Hypocrite}}, since she made it clear she dated multiple men while they were separated. So why she'd have a right to be mad about Kirk's exes is baffling. Add all this up and you get a character who provides no entertainment for viewers and exists just to make Kirk and Milhouse more pathetic by treating them like garbage.

* ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987'':
** We have Vernon, a whiny [[TheLoad load]] who existed to make April [[StrawLoser look better]].
** Also Burne, April's boss for being a ''massively'' unsympathetic {{jerkass}}. Made worse by the fact that he was PutOnABus by the time he could finally be useful to the plot.
** Carter from the same season, for blatant [[FlawlessToken Positive Discrimination]] and outshining the turtles. Carter has a ''few'' fans, but most of them agree that he doesn't really belong on a show like TMNT.
** Howie, a character who was ''so hated'', he was written out after just two episodes.
** [[TagalongKid Zack]] for being a KidAppealCharacter in a show that clearly didn't need one.
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003'': While the ''Fast Forward'' season was maligned for many reasons, a substantial amount of the blame is still heaped upon Cody Jones, the descendent of Casey Jones and April O'Neil. While insofar as that he doesn't sound too bad on paper, in practice he was basically TheLoad added to the existing team dynamic of the turtles and Splinter that had been successful as it was for two decades of stories, with most of the ''Fast Forward'' episodes based around him being a turtles fanboy and his uncle conspiring against him just because of a corporate grudge. Though later in the season he did finally become competent and did win some fans, but other people started having the opposite complaints- Cody became the one who ended up saving the day more often than not (especially in "Day of Awakening") which got him labelled as a CreatorsPet to some extent.
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012'':
** Timothy, aka "The Pulverizer" is hated for being an obnoxious fanboy who [[TheLoad acts tougher than he is]] and generally falls under TooDumbToLive.
** Bigfoot and The Finger feel out of place, are full of gross-out humor that is just unenjoyable, especially in comparison to the show's more tasteful takes on gross-out, and star in [[BizarroEpisode an episode]] that the majority of the fandom has [[FanonDiscontinuity brushed under the rug]].

!!''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama''
* While Ezekiel himself is considered a BaseBreakingCharacter and TheWoobie due to his underutilisation and subsequent feralisation, said [[FromNobodyToNightmare feral transformation]] in ''World Tour'' is universally hated for derailing his character into a [[Film/TheLordOfTheRings Gollum ripoff]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaPresentsTheRidonculousRace'':
** The Adversity Twins, Mickey and Jay, who are virtually [[TheDividual the same character]], are extremely unpopular due to being [[SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute complete clones]] of Cameron (right down to their designs being recolors of his original design), minus anything that made him likable (like his intellect or his ability to manipulate stronger competitors). Their forced [[TheWoobie woobie]] status which tries to make viewers feel sorry for them, and the initial belief that they would follow the underdog route, further added to their unpopularity.
* Beth in the original series was mostly considered one of the more boring first-generation contestants, while her counterpart in the spinoff series ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama'' is noticeably despised by most. Of all the characters who've undergone [[AdaptationalJerkass jerkiness]] that's exclusive to this series, hers is by far the most noticeable as she's become a raging narcissist who commits uncaring actions for her own benefit and rarely (if ever) suffers any consequences for them. Not helped is how she's one of the most focused-on characters in the series, with most of the episodes where she's the main character doing nothing except highlighting how nasty she is. What also doesn't help her is her AdaptationPersonalityChange of being more gross than her original series counterpart and is often used for ToiletHumor.

[[folder:Other animated series]]
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}'' has Serena, Wyatt’s girlfriend for a time. Ask any fan of the series and their response will usually be it’s because she’s a BitchInSheepsClothing or for her infamous moment of breaking up with Wyatt via DumpedViaTextMessage.
* ''WesternAnimation/OneHundredAndOneDalmatiansTheSeries''
** If you talk to any fan, one character they will all agree on hating is Lieutenant Pug. He is a villain that the pups are capable of physically speaking with, acting like that certain hated teacher. This has the potential for comedy, but because Lt. Pug is handled so poorly, he doesn't push the viewers' right buttons and everyone basically hates him for the wrong reasons--his loud voice and pushy mannerisms make him seem like a military school commander mixed with the most annoying trolls people meet on an Internet message board. He is just not likable, he is not funny, hell he's not even ''appealing'' at all. When you factor in he just doesn't add anything to the show that makes viewers hate him more.
** Swamp Rat qualifies for this also because of how he effectively TookALevelInJerkass in practically every appearance he was in, though he at least comes off as more watchable than Pug.
* ''WesternAnimation/OneHundredAndOneDalmatianStreet'':
** [[YouDirtyRat Big Fee]] gets a lot of disdain from fans for being arguably the least sympathetic member of [[TerribleTrio the Canal Crew]], due to her shameless {{Gasshole}} tendencies and greedy exploitation of Dolly in "Don't Push Your Luck."
** The Canal Crew's other rodent, [[GRatedDrug Sid Squirrel]], got similar hate earlier on due to manipulating Dolly into helping him steal nuts in "May Contain Nuts." However, [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap his hate began to die down]] once Big Fee was proven to be an even bigger jerk than him in "Don't Push Your Luck."
** While [[BitchInSheepsClothing Bessie]], who comes from [[Recap/OneHundredAndOneDalmatianStreetS1E24ASummerToRemember A Summer to Remember]] is [[HateSink meant to be hated]], the fact that she [[KarmaHoudini gets away with attempting murder]] - combined with the fact that she isn't well written compared to Clarissa and Hunter - have made her near universally despised.
* ''WesternAnimation/ActionLeagueNow'': Quarky seems to be this. The creators took notice and she never appeared after season two.
* ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGalaxyRangers'' had a couple.
** First was Buzzwang, a KidAppealCharacter android who desperately wanted to be a Ranger, but was just [[TheLoad a clueless idiot]] and kept getting into stupid situations; that [[CaptainErsatz he seemed to be obviously patterned after C-3P0]] from ''Franchise/StarWars'' didn't help (although even at his worst Buzzwang wasn't half as annoying as some of the other characters listed here). At a GR marathon with story editor/writer Chris Rowley, he heckled the screen.
--->'''Rowley:''' Oh, Buzzwang. We wanted to kill him ''so'' badly.\
'''Everyone else in the theater:''' So did ''we!''
** Another were the Kiwi Kids. Take Spridle from ''Anime/SpeedRacer'' and multiply by three. It didn't help that Corrine Orr was ''using'' variants of her Spridle voice for all three, either.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfPussInBoots'': Toby. With how his LethallyStupid actions usually cause a lot of problems to Puss, lots of UnwantedAssistance moments as often he will either be InnocentlyInsensitive or harm Puss, being TooDumbToLive, generally very annoying whenever he is on screen, and being a clear CreatorsPet. He is pretty much a Pig version of [[Franchise/StarWars Jar Jar]].
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'':
** [[ObnoxiousInLaws Francine's]] [[AsianRudeness parents]]. They often come over to the Smith household uninvited, and repay Stan by belittling him, using his property without permission, and enforcing their rules despite being under his roof, with all of this meant to be swept aside and forgiven just because Francine's biological parents are worse.
** Fung Wah from "American Fung", for whom the plot repeatedly stopped just to obnoxiously gush over, leaving a BizarroEpisode in his wake.
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDragonJakeLong'': Huntsboys #88 and #89. Veered into CreatorsPet territory after the Huntsmen as a whole were killed off, but the two continued to appear anyway. Though they quit being Huntsmen at the last minute and weren't real Huntsmen in the first place.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheAnimalsOfFarthingWood'':
** Hurkel as well, for being StupidGood and a ReplacementScrappy for Badger.
** Weasel was always a BaseBreakingCharacter, but she firmly became this in season 3, where she [[TookALevelInJerkass acts even worse, teaches her kids to disrespect their father]] [[KickTheDog while doing it herself]], [[SpotlightStealingSquad has an absurd amount of focus,]] and [[CreatorsPet is never called out on anything, instead getting a hero's welcome upon returning.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'':
** The Hip Hippos. They are a pair of very ''urbane'' well... hippos speaking with rather obnoxious faux-Barcelona accents (does not help they tend to talk in nearly histrionic tones). Their main shtick is basically "Hippos live upper-class life, clueless zoologist tries to trick them into moving back to the wild". Only a few shorts that starred them were made before the production team realized how unpopular they were and relegated them to side characters.
** Katie Ka-Boom only had a few shorts of her ever made before the writers realizing she lacked potential as a character. The few shorts featuring Katie are so formulaic that they're almost indistinguishable -- Katie undergoes a RageBreakingPoint over some minor problem as a teenager, turns into some sort of monster, then literally creates an explosion to cause devastation to the world around her. Much like the Hip Hippos, Katie Ka-Boom was quickly relegated to a side character after only a few appearances.
** [[WesternAnimation/Animaniacs2020 The 2020 reboot]] has an InUniverse example: [[spoiler: Chicken Boo. Due to being the least-liked character of the original show [[note]]Supposedly. Out of universe, his reception with fans was fairly average with most criticism just being his segment was a one-note joke, but otherwise being tolerable and mostly just being a quick buffer in between segments. So this comment might just be the writers' bias.[[/note]] it was contractually stated that Chicken Boo would ''not'' appear in the reboot under any circumstances. So in the episode "Good Warner Hunting", he took up the disguise of EgomaniacHunter Dr. Walter Grubb and personally hunted and bagged '''every other supporting character in the show''', reasoning that [[GreenEyedMonster if he couldn't be on the show, nobody could]]. Fortunately, the Warners managed to stop his scheme, and all of his captive trophies escape to get their revenge on Boo.]]
** Mindy's parents also count for not only their mistreatment of Buttons but also because of their ParentalNeglect in regards to their daughter who is no more than a toddler in age. Their constant inattentiveness is what causes every single incident to unfold because they can't be assed to look after their daughter to make sure she didn't run off after every little thing that catches her eye and then they have the ''audacity'' to blame Buttons for minor infractions. It's hardly a surprise that Mindy refers to her parents as "Lady" and "Mr. Man" as though they were complete strangers.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Archer}}'':
** [[InsistentTerminology TV's]] Michael Gray, where he is portrayed as a flamboyant, irritating ManChild.
** Zara Kahn, introduced in the final season, has caught massive heat from fans for not being portrayed as having many flaws, and being too similar to Lana, without any of the humor or charm.
* ''WesternAnimation/AsToldByGinger'': Dodie is a part of the PowerTrio but fans absolutely hate her. She's gossipy, obsessed with Ginger, easily jealous, and has done many backstabbing and generally inappropriate things over the series. At least Miranda is an antagonist, Dodie is [[DesignatedHero treated like a good character]] yet comes off more like a TokenEvilTeammate. It got worse as time went on, as fans think she became a mini version of her mother.
* ''WesternAnimation/AtomicBetty'': A lot of people dislike (and even flat-out despise) Penelope for a good reason. Her attitude half the time and especially on season three is the reason many nearly stopped watching the show.
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'': Many of the one-shot villains created for the show get this from fans, often due to having little depth and ridiculous gimmicks (even by Batman villain standards) that made it difficult to take them seriously (Boss Biggis talks with his mouth full, Sewer King resides in a sewer with alligators as bodyguards). Several fans hate Red Claw in particular simply because of her offensively bad Russian accent. Admittedly, though, others such as Lock-Up and, most famously, Harley Quinn were popular enough that [[CanonImmigrant they were later added to the mainstream DC Comics canon.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond'': Not a whole lot of fans liked Matt [=McGinnis=] on the show, as his appearances often had him just acting like a typical AnnoyingYoungerSibling BrattyHalfPint without offering anything else.
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'' acknowledged Bat-Mite's status, by having Batman be constantly annoyed by him. ''Brave and the Bold'' also rescued him from the heap by turning him into a FourthWallObserver who goes to comic conventions and references the existence of multiple Batman cartoons.
** In the GrandFinale, Bat-Mite is [[NoFourthWall messing with the show in an attempt to get it cancelled]]. He deliberately adds in an annoying character the fans will hate. At first it appears to be Ace the Bat-Hound, but it turns out to be his nephew Punchy, an obvious Scrappy {{expy}}.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBatman'':
** Donnie/Prank is generally considered to be a pretty pointless and annoying character, who Harley Quinn should have taken the place of. Thankfully she does end up appearing.
** Chief Rojas is practically a HateSink as he has NO redeeming qualities whatsoever as he's just a self-righteous FatBastard. Thankfully, Commissioner Gordon came into the picture.
** Cluemaster tends to be considered one of the worst of the series' villains due to his obnoxious PsychopathicManchild personality, lame motivation (revenge over losing a game show), and goofy design.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}}'':
** Claire Brewster for being an AlphaBitch and always insulting Lydia and her friends. Luckily for the viewers, karma mostly bites her in the ass.
** Prince Vince, with his overly dramatic tendencies, is seen this way by a portion of the viewers; not many fans care for Beetlejuice's sickeningly sweet brother Donny, either. However, neither of them appear in the show nearly as much as Claire, so their scrappy status is less pronounced.
* Even the more divisive characters of ''WesternAnimation/BobsBurgers'' have many fans, and of course there are the characters who are ''meant'' to be hated (like Jimmy Pesto), but one character stands out as truly despised--Chuck Charles, who constantly bullies Bob and is just an overall unpleasant character. While he's clearly meant to be a HateSink, what pushes him into scrappy territory is the fact that his dickish nature goes [[KarmaHoudini largely unpunished]] (particularly in the infamous "Family Fracas", where he successfully cheats the Belchers off his show), and even the other HateSink characters (like Jimmy Pesto or Hugo) are ''funny'' in how they're absolute assholes--Chuck Charles can hardly say the same. Let's just say that people aren't exactly mourning the fact that he hasn't appeared since Season 5.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Bonkers}}'': The Grapevine from the Lucky Piquel episodes. All they ever do is insult the police and make really lame jokes.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBrakShow'': Clarence. He was a replacement for Sisto in Season 2, and spent most of his time being annoying and taking up large chunks of the plot doing nothing. However, he did get better in the GrandFinale.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}}'':
** Connie has got some hate for being too crude, obnoxious, and for having too much LesYay moments with Ethel. The fat jokes that involved her are considered to be too over the top and gross and it can be argued that she is the lesbian equivalent of an EthnicScrappy.
** Denzel as his personality and traits involved him being flanderized into a pot-smoking maniac who constantly has sex with old ladies. The jokes that generated around this quickly became tasteless.
** Bobby Possumcods is also a hated character for his flanderized [[BestialityIsDepraved perversion towards animals]].
* ''WesternAnimation/CaptainNTheGameMaster'': While many fans are unhappy with the [[NotAsYouKnowThem personality]] and [[YouDontLookLikeYou appearance]] changes made to the title character's supporting cast, they also tend to hate...
** Game Boy, a mid-series addition to the team who [[TheLoad rarely did anything useful]]. It didn't help that Game Boy was introduced in the most illogical way possible. Princess Lana's dad, who is trapped in another dimension, sends Game Boy to them via a warp portal that only opens once per decade. He thinks Game Boy will be able to help them in the war against Mother Brain... but by doing so, the king gives up his own chance to go through the portal, despite the fact that his return would have probably ''ended'' the war.
** VideoGame/{{Mega Man|Classic}}, for having an extremely high-pitched, raspy voice and mega-grating VerbalTic, and the fact that he was ''green'' instead of blue, despite being nicknamed the '''Blue Bomber'''. This also applies to most of the Robot Masters, if nothing else for their ridiculous character designs, especially Cut Man, who will haunt your nightmares.
** [[VideoGame/KidIcarus Pit]] (who for some reason is called [[IAmNotShazam "Kid Icarus"]] in this show), for similar reasons to Mega Man: he has a whiny, high-pitched voice and [[VerbalTic verbalus tic-us]], plus a tendency to [[NiceJobBreakingItHero screw up badly]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheCasagrandes'': Many viewers of the show really, REALLY hate Sergio for being an unrepentant {{Jerkass}} who causes conflict in nearly every episode, [[JerkassToOne especially towards Bobby]]. Not to mention he gets [[SpotlightStealingSquad shoehorned in so often]] that Carlitos and Lalo feel [[OutOfFocus underutilized]] compared to him.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Centaurworld}}'' has an InUniverse version with Wammawink. When the group encounters the birdtaurs in the episode "All Herd All the Terd", they learn that the birdtaurs have been watching their adventures up to that point from the sky, [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall treating it as a television series]]. While every other character has developed their own fanbase among the creatures, none of them like Wammawink whatsoever, seeing her as incredibly annoying and controlling. Zulius is even able to convince them to help in the upcoming war by promising (among other things) that Wammawink will be "[[DemotedToExtra reduced to a very minor character]]".
* ''WesternAnimation/ChallengeOfTheGobots'': Scooter. Oh gods, Scooter. He probably would have been more popular if they hadn't made Frank Welker give him the most ''annoying voice possible''. Also Nick - who was basically Scooter's best buddy.
** In addition, unlike his Transformers counterpart Bumblebee, Scooter was cowardly and his first response to most bad situations was to gulp in fear. Heck, in the very first episode Leader 1 declares that he wants to launch a full scale assault to finish the Renegades off once and for all, and Scooter's reaction is to gulp and ask if he isn't being too hasty! You could argue he recognises his lack of combat skill or ability, but Bumblebee wasn't afraid to risk his life if it would help the Autobots out, despite his diminutive size.
** The Rock Lords in general tend to get a ton of mockery. The whole idea of robots that turn into rocks is just so stupid-sounding to most people that they never really had a chance.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Chowder}}'':
** Mr. Fugu is by and large the most hated character amongst the fanbase, due to not only being an EntitledBastard and a {{Gasshole}} responsible for some of the show's worst instances of NauseaFuel, but also for being a KarmaHoudini who never faces comeuppance for his obnoxious behavior. The only upside about him to fans is that he's usually accompanied by his valet, Foie Gras, who's voiced by legendary actor Creator/GeorgeTakei, but that's more of a compliment to Foie Gras than to Mr. Fugu himself.
** Reuben is another character that the fanbase can't stand. Aside from being voiced by Creator/PaulReubens, best known as [[Series/PeeWeesPlayhouse Pee-wee Herman]], there's nothing about his character that's likable, with him always trying to find ways to make Mung Daal's life miserable, and being extremely lecherous towards Ms. Endive. Despite all of his wrongdoings, he's also a KarmaHoudini who almost never gets punished for his selfish behavior, causing fans to dread any episode where Reuben is prominently featured.
* ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'': You'll find very few fans who enjoy [[ClingyJealousGirl Lizzie]] (''especially'' [[DieForOurShip shippers]]). Even without taking shippers into account, she is still treated like one of the heroes even though she ''[[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashes]]'' Numbuh 1 and makes him attack his friends all because they were making fun of them on their date and Numbuh 1 tried to save face (And this was her ''first appearance'' no less). Yet, she is EasilyForgiven by Numbuh 1. Even when she ends up [[TookALevelInKindness taking a level in kindness]] in later appearances, she is still seen by fans as a bossy, overbearing shrew who should have been dumped far earlier in the show and whose appearances are viewed as taking away screentime from better-liked operatives or characters. It says a lot that a FandomSpecificPlot, even in nonshipping stories, is that Numbuh 1 dumps her and gets together with someone else.
* Here's a clever InUniverse example: In the ''WesternAnimation/CowAndChicken'' episode "Squirt the Daisies", in one of the virtual reality games that Chicken plays when the Red Guy invites him over to play some, he finds a turtle who constantly tells him the objective of the game to be so annoying that he reacts, "How's about, '[[TakeThatScrappy Kick da turtle! Kick da turtle!']]"
* ''WesternAnimation/DMynaLeagues'': You'll be hard-pressed to find fans of the Mungo brothers, due to them being obnoxious joke characters that often mess up and fail during games.
* ''WesternAnimation/DangerMouse'': Quark is generally disliked by most fans, who find him to be rather bland and unfunny.
* ''WesternAnimation/DangerRangers'': Fallbot's antics can grate on some viewers' nerves. There doesn't seem to be much point to him being on the team other than showing viewers "what not to do", since his clumsiness often causes more harm than good.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Daria}}'' is a rather interesting case. Due to ShipToShipCombat, Tom wound up going from being one of the most loved characters in the series to the most hated. But in later years, Tom has actually been given a much nicer treatment... since you can't swing a cat without hitting a couple Tom-bashing fanfics or fanfics where Tom's existence is flat-out denied in favour of Daria x Jane or even weirder pairings like Daria x Mr. [=DeMartino=].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Detentionaire}}'': Brad Von Chillstein. While him getting in the way of Lee and Tina's romance is the whole point of his character, his massive ego and WrongGenreSavvy attitude get on the nerves of many fans.
* ''WesternAnimation/DogCity'':
** Rosie's little niece Dot who virtually does nothing but constantly ask "Why?".[[note]]You'd think being voiced by Creator/TaraStrong would alleviate this, but no.[[/note]]
** Eddie is also rather disliked by fans due to how obnoxious he is. If it's not the fact that he often gets Ace in trouble, then it's the constant "It's a well-known fact..." comments he makes. And this isn't even counting the episode where he was deliberately annoying.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}'': Many fans didn't care for [[OneShotCharacter Ms. Newberry]], the substitute teacher from "Doug's New Teacher" given her refusing to allow Doug a fair shake and believing ''Roger'' of all people when he told her Doug was a troublemaker. Even worse, when Doug came into the teacher's lounge and earnestly tried to talk to her to convince her that she was mistaken about him and he wished they could get along, what did he receive from her in response? '''A cold, silent stare.'''
** Not helped at all by what immediately follows. At first, we're led to assume that she'll change her mind and realize she's misjudged Doug. But nope, she's ''still'' convinced he's a rotten little troublemaker...she just thinks he's a rotten little troublemaker with a HiddenHeartOfGold. Despite ultimately warming up to him, the fact that she still thinks Doug's bad and Roger's good ends up cementing her as an irredeemably HorribleJudgeOfCharacter to the point that even Doug decides that there's no possible way to get her to see reason. The only consolation is that [[LaserGuidedKarma Roger gets some karmic retribution in the end]] with Ms. Newberry not being seen in the series again after that.
* ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether'':
** Captain Hero. While some viewers regard him as funny, a majority of fans dislike him for many of his traits such as his stupidity, his constant acts of having sex with dead bodies, and the fact that the creators have decided to make him their CreatorsPet and have him basically become the main character of the show, having him take up tons of episodes at the expense of other characters like Ling-Ling, Toot, and Wooldoor. He is also hated for being a KarmaHoudini as he was shown to get away with things like destroying his own home planet of Zebulon, killing or wounding everyone in a charity AIDS walk, and kidnapping the daughter of a Greek immigrant couple while treating her like a goat after terrorizing her family. In fact, Hero has received punishment for his actions in only one episode, which featured him getting arrested for possessing an obscene photo of his 12-year-old self.
** Spanky Ham as he is disliked for his very disgusting toilet humor and JerkAss behavior. While creators have toned down his jerkassery after season one, his gross potty humor still remained.
** Princess Clara degraded herself into being a scrappy as well as she was originally portrayed as an InnocentlyInsensitive princess but over the course of the series, she molded herself into a HolierThanThou woman who was also a huge homophobe, and then in season 3 she turned into an unsympathetic, selfish JerkAss while she apparently didn't have any FreudianExcuse for turning into this.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheDreamstone'':
** Spildit is whiny, annoying, bratty, and only seems to have been introduced because [[ExecutiveMeddling they felt they had to]]. Double Scrappy points for being [[ChasteToons the 'niece']] of one of the main characters.
** There's also Wildit, who was not part of Mike Jupp's original character designs and was [[TheAce far too good at everything]], being the main reason the bad guys lost in the vast majority of episodes she appeared, and thus demoting the Noops to incompetent {{Tagalong Kid}}s, particularly in the early seasons.
** The rest of the hero ensemble (particularly Rufus and Amberley) tend to go in and out with fans, largely due to being far more boring and syrupy than the [[EvilIsCool more colourful Urpneys]] and their [[UnscrupulousHero occasionally gratuitous treatment]] towards [[DesignatedVillain Sgt. Blob and his goons]]. For what it's worth the show did try to tone down these problems for the last third or so.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'':
** Bubba the Cave Duck and Tootsie the Triceratops are viewed as unnecessary and unwelcome additions to the primary cast. Their ever-increasing time in the spotlight in later episodes didn't help (Or Bubba's, rather. Tootsie completely disappeared after a few early appearances). This is so bad that Bubba was PutOnABus shortly after starring in a few episodes.
** Gandra Dee is not particularly well-liked, mostly due to being a FlatCharacter and SatelliteLoveInterest for Fenton - not to mention the hate she gets from Fenton's fans for being insensitive to him.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'':
** Sparky, Timmy's fairy dog from Season 9. After his first episode, he became immediately despised for his reckless, irresponsible, clueless, selfish, and downright obnoxious behavior. His addition also [[SeriesContinuityError violated basic continuity (his previous owners were adults, even though only kids can have fairies)]] and was considered superfluous as the show already had Cosmo as the LethallyStupid ditz. He was so unpopular (not only by fans, [[CreatorsPest but by most of the staff and even the Nickelodeon executives]]) that he [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome suddenly vanished after Season 9]] and has not been seen since.
** Then there's Chloe Carmichael, a MarySue type character that was introduced in Season 10 to share Timmy's fairies, who many fans found annoying, and her inclusion would ultimately lead to the show's cancellation in 2017.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Fangface}}'': Fangpuss was a controversial character in the mold of Scrappy Doo (who happened to debut on TV on the same day yet!).
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Farzar}}'': Sal the Taint is constantly being punched up by the writers as their attempt at a breakout character but most fans just find him annoying and stupid, since his only role in the show is to [[{{Padding}} waste screen time]] and bring down the plot with his long fourth-wall breaking tangents about how great of a character he is.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones'' has the GreatGazoo, who was hated by fans for being an annoying reality-warping alien in a series about a modern stone-age family. Outside clashing with the tone of the show, Gazoo came across as smug and condescending to Fred and Barney, referring to them as "dumb-dumbs" and generally making their lives more difficult. His introduction was what many fans considered the show JumpingTheShark and a contributing factor to the show's eventual cancellation.
* ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'':
** By far the most hated character to ever enter the show was Bendy. He fools Herriman and Frankie into believing and loving him while he does terrible things around the house and ends up getting Bloo, Wilt, Eduardo, and Coco screwed over for it. Bloo, being not very bright, decides to trap Bendy in a situation where they would have to acknowledge that Bendy was guilty of something wrong only to end up screwing himself into destroying most of the house while "Bendy took a cookie." All this seemingly make for a character that is [[HateSink clearly meant to be despised]] but since he [[KarmaHoudini completely got away with it]] at the end of the episode, his hate ended up getting overblown to the point of becoming a Scrappy. His episode got such a negative reaction from fans that Creator/LaurenFaust [[CreatorBacklash publicly apologized for writing it.]] Bendy then never appeared in any subsequent episodes after that.
** There's also Goofball John [=McGee=], who is hated by a large number of fans because he acted like a DiabolusExMachina for Frankie.
** [=EuroTrish=] from "Foster’s Goes to Europe" is hated due to being an EthnicScrappy, having a very annoying Italian accent, and being an extremely forced attempt at a [[TheWoobie Woobie]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'':
** Mr. Wong. Sexist, stupid, and demeaning to everyone, he's earned a lot of haters who wished he died in ''[[Recap/FuturamaM4IntoTheWildGreenYonder Into the Wild Green Yonder]]''. And given that sexism and possessive behavior towards one's children are Chinese stereotypes, he might even qualify as an EthnicScrappy.
** The "Susan" butt boil got a lot of this for various reasons, such as it being an already outdated joke in an already topical-heavy episode, and for just having a really annoying voice.
** Ndnd, the wife of Lrrr is hated as well as she basically does nothing but nag her husband around and downright abuses him verbally while in one episode, she hits him over the head with a frying pan and kicks him out of their house all because he got her a gift she didn't really like.
** Yivo, despite being the main antagonist of ''[[Recap/FuturamaM2TheBeastWithABillionBacks The Beast with a Billion Backs]]'' is not really villainous or evil but shkle is hated for forcing almost everyone in the universe into a relationship with shkler, meaning that shkle forcibly put shkler tentacles into peoples necks and was revealed to be "mating" with those people through those tentacles. Yivo was technically raping these people, yet shkle [[KarmaHoudini got away with all that]] and was EasilyForgiven for it despite how serious shkler crimes were. Shkle was also an InvincibleVillain due to being entirely composed of electromatter, only being harmed by [[spoiler:Bender's robot army lining weapons with his "skin"]] ''after'' shkle was forgiven by shkler victims. To top off the whole thing, while shkler victims were universally forgiving of shkler, [[{{Hypocrite}} shkle can't find it in shklerself to forgive them]] when one of them breaks a rule shkle set of no outside contact, which just makes shkler look even worse, with even more parallels to romantic abuse.
* ''WesternAnimation/GlitchTechs'': Mike Simms is disliked by many people. When first mentioned by name, he's implied to be a bully toward Ridley. When he actually appears, he's a BrattyHalfPint who doesn't just top Miko's score at the arcade, he goes out of his way to top it multiple times to erase her from the scoreboard entirely. When confronted, he's rude and insulting the entire time.
* ''WesternAnimation/GodTheDevilAndBob'': Megan. Almost every word out of her mouth is a whine or complaint about something and she treats her mother like crap.
* Godzooky from Creator/HannaBarbera's ''WesternAnimation/TheGodzillaPowerHour''.
** And even Godzooky himself is ''nothing'' compared to the human characters in the series. Bland, one-dimensional characters whose only purposes are to either A.) Get attacked/captured by the MonsterOfTheWeek and/or B.) Summon Godzilla to solve '''all''' of their problems for them. Say what you will about Godzooky. At least he actually ''does'' something other than say "Oh, no! (Insert monster here) is destroying the city/attacking the TagalongKid! We must summon Godzilla!"
** The webcomic ''Webcomic/SluggyFreelance'' has Torg mention this once in quasi-[=TVTropeish=] terms, resulting in the without knowing the context completely brain-damaged-sounding sentence "Godzookie [sic] is the Scrappy-Doo of Godzilla."
* ''WesternAnimation/HighGuardianSpice'': The elder of the Triad is often singled out for being too cantankerous for her quips to be seen as funny, and a lot of her dialogue involves interjecting the Triad's speech just to snark. Combined with repeatedly kvetching about the student body, people immediately tire of her every time she makes a brief appearance.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Hilda}}'': Erik Ahlberg is very unpopular with fans due to his GloryHound tendencies, lack of [[PoliceAreUseless competency]], and being a massive {{Jerkass}} to everyone, including his partners. While he's intended to be an HateSink, what pushes him into this territory for many is that he almost never faces any consequences for his actions or behavior (outside of "The Old Bells of Trolberg", in which a bell falls on him), with the end of ''The Mountain King'' having him be rewarded with a medal of honor for his actions, much to the irritation of fans, who felt he should've been punished instead. Needless to say, fans are glad he resigned at the end of the movie, expressing hope that he never appears again.
* ''WesternAnimation/HorridHenry'':
** Prissy Polly. Her shrilly voice and overly jolly personality tend to annoy viewers as well as her habit of wanting things to be exactly her way, even to the discomfort of others. It doesn’t help that she treats her husband (who is constantly oppressed to begin with) like dirt. To some, she can be viewed as a female equivalent of Perfect Peter.
** Moody Margaret also qualifies to those who don't consider her a BaseBreakingCharacter. Though her behaviour in the earlier series was ''somewhat'' justified when it came to Henry, she became [[TookALevelInJerkass noticeably viler in later series]] as she constantly treats her friends badly and will bully those around her, even when she's unprovoked just because she can and [[KarmaHoudini usually gets away with it]]. Her tendency to act like an [[UngratefulBitch ungrateful brat]] towards her parents who constantly spoil her also doesn't help.
** Nasty Nicola. Just look at the comments on her profile page on the show’s wiki.
* In ''WesternAnimation/HouseOfMouse'', Shelby Turtle is seen as an annoying little hellion and KarmaHoudini who has gotten away with [[BadlyBatteredBabysitter tormenting both Donald and Mickey]], in both the wraparounds and the ''Mouse Works'' shorts. The fact that he shares [[BrattyHalfPint some of]] [[KidAppealCharacter the same traits]] as Scrappy-Doo himself does not help matters, nor does his laugh, which some perceive as annoying. His mother is hated as well because she never realizes how much trouble her son causes them, [[NoIndoorVoice yells at them really loud]] whenever they mess up, and whenever they do manage to get the job done, she tells them she will have them babysit her son again on a later day.
* ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget'' had Corporal Capeman, who was added in the second season as part of an attempt to make it more different from the first season, as well as an obviously [[RatingsStunt shameless attempt to boost low ratings]]. He was an extremely idiotic superhero wanna-be that looked like a nerd (complete with oversized eyeglasses) and idolized Inspector Gadget (despite Gadget referring to Capeman as "Capman"). As a result, Gadget soon became Capeman's mentor. But Capeman, unfortunately, was stupider than Gadget, who was also an idiot himself. Capeman didn't appear in all the episodes during this season though, which lead to some rather confusing continuity.
* Buttons from ''Animation/IronKid'' has all the trappings of Scrappydom, being an annoying talking ''robot'' dog intended for comic relief, and does very little to help the heroes whatsoever.
* ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'':
** [[EthnicScrappy Paco]] was basically all of [[BaseBreakingCharacter Jade Chan]]'s trouble-causing tendencies, none of her plucky, awesome, or ingenious ones, had a few extra pints of annoying fanboy for good measure, and [[OohMeAccentsSlipping couldn't even hold a]] [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking consistent accent]]. There's a reason [[ItMakesSenseInContext the fandom prefers Jade to date]] [[FoeYayShipping Hsi Wu, a homicidal bat demon wizard]].
** Of the seasons' [[BigBad big bads]], Daolon Wong is generally considered the weakest. Initially built up as an all powerful evil sorcerer who had beaten Uncle's old teacher, he quickly proves to be little more than an annoyance as he is easily bested by Uncle nearly every time they fight each other. And unlike the seasons' other villains, he never makes any significant gains in his plans (he had managed to steal only two of the twelve talisman's powers, and even then never achieves any real victory over the heroes). In fact, he is superseded by the much more threatening Shendu as the main villain in the season's GrandFinale, having by that point become little more than a BigBadWannabe.
** The Ice Crew was not well-received by viewers, especially when they {{replace|ment scrappy}}d Finn, Ratso, and Chow in the last season. Ice probably gets it the worst because of [[TotallyRadical the way he talks]].
* Babu from ''WesternAnimation/{{Jeannie}}''. A man-boy of the first order, his magic ALWAYS causes disaster and in one particularly cringe-worthy episode, he runs away after getting chewed out by the other characters for messing things up. This isn't some sulk on a park bench, he literally grabs a teddy bear, raids the fridge, and scampers off somewhere until the other characters apologize.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Jem}}'':
** A lot of people don't like Ba Nee due to being the resident DamselScrappy, having much more screen time over other, more interesting Starlight Girls such as [[OnlySaneMan Krissie]] and [[BrokenBird Deidre]] and her yearning for her father eventually coming off as {{Wangst}}.
** Rapture doesn't really have [[FlatCharacter much of a role]] outside of being the Stingers' bassist and being a manipulative bitch to virtually everyone she encounters just for the sake of it.
** A lot of people hate Jetta for being a complete witch to fan-favorite Stormer, who was the one to get her in the band to begin with, and to a lesser extent, how she treats Roxy.
* The 1985 syndicated revival of ''WesternAnimation/TheJetsons'' introduced spring-legged alien Orbitty in the first episode. The episodes where he plays an important role in the plot can be counted on one hand, and he is largely a background annoyance for the rest of the season. Even the animators thought Orbitty was a pointless addition; Creator/JohnKricfalusi, who worked as a layout supervisor on several episodes, has gone on record as having tried to work in scenes where Orbitty was on the receiving end of slapstick abuse (such as being smacked around by an automatic golf putter) to vent his frustration. Hanna-Barbera tacitly acknowledged their mistake by unceremoniously dropping the character for the 1987 episodes and ''WesternAnimation/JetsonsTheMovie''.
* Few ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyTest'' fans have anything but hatred for Johnny's dad Hugh, for being an ''extremely'' LawfulStupid authoritarian to his family; even the writers [[TheChewToy don't seem to like him a lot]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Kaeloo}}'': Pretty, the group AlphaBitch, is widely despised by the fans for her cruel, bullying nature, constant mockery of everyone else, and superior attitude. Unlike Mr. Cat (who has most of these traits but is still adored by the fandom), she has never actually shown signs of caring for the rest of the cast (she ''rejoices'' when they are presumed dead in one episode), and the way she treats [[ProneToTears her sister]] is awful. In season 5, the character was completely rewritten with a [[TookALevelInKindness nicer personality]] that was explained in-universe as [[SameCharacterButDifferent offscreen character development]]. After this, the fandom continued to hate her for becoming overly prefect.
* ''WesternAnimation/KidVsKat'':
** Millie Burtonburger is widely hated due to her BrattyHalfPint scream.
** [[CrankyNeighbor Old Lady Munson]] is easily the worst character in the entire series as she [[TheScapegoat blames Coop for every thing]] [[NeverMyFault he didn't]] and [[KarmaHoudini never believing in Mr. Kat]], locks Fiona (her great great great nice) in her house and also she [[HatesEveryoneEqually hates all Burtonburgers]] with Millie Burtonburger being the exception of this all complete with a very annoying UnstoppableRage voice. As if wasn't enough, there's even a FanDisservice moment in "Bringin The Heat" where she wears a yellow leopard mini bikini which scares Burt and his friends in a gross manner during his 8th birthday.
* ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'': Prince Wally from the episode "Royal Pain" is considered one of the most obnoxious and unlikable characters the series ever had, with many viewers [[RootingForTheEmpire rooting for the Knights of Rodeghan to ax him off.]] This might be the reason he was never utilized again following his episode.
* ''WesternAnimation/AKindOfMagic'':
** Tom because he whines too much for his own good about wanting to be normal and fit in.
** Cindy, without the SpotlightStealingSquad factor - Just [[BrattyTeenageDaughter a stereotypically written character]] who clearly does nothing for this show, but provide the audience cynical enough reasons to complain about teen portrayal in animation in general.
* ''WesternAnimation/KingOfTheHill'':
** Lucky is seen as a Scrappy by a large segment of the show's fandom. A stereotypical "redneck" character, he contributes practically nothing to the plot except as a love interest to Luanne which ALSO caused the ire of fans since it detracted from her desire to get away from being a stereotypical "hillbilly" like the rest of her family. About his only redeeming traits are that he genuinely cares for his friends and family and that he has an "honor code" (IE: He refuses to marry Luanne until he's graduated from high school).
** Kahn and Minh Souphanousinphone both fall here. While they just barely avoid being [[EthnicScrappy walking Asian stereotypes]], they are both obnoxious {{Jerkass}}es who [[AsianRudeness take utter pleasure in being dicks towards their neighbors]], including referring to them as "Rednecks" in a derogatory sense. While they do have some redeeming qualities (such as genuinely caring for their daughter Connie), said good aspects of them are overshadowed by their flaws. One episode in the series had Kahn not only sexually harass Hank (all because Hank could see Kahn through Kahn's bathroom window), but also he and Mihn would break into Hank's house, raid the fridge, mess with the furniture, and it's implied they would have ''sex'' there as well all the while mocking Hank and Peggy. There's being a jerk, and then there's blatantly breaking the law just for [[ForTheEvulz the sick amusement of it.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/KulipariAnArmyOfFrogs'':
** Gee is considered to be by fans as an unsuccessful attempt at making a KidAppealCharacter to try to lighten the dark tone of the show. He's basically a frog who is the butt of all the fat jokes on the show. He's also hated for being a NonActionGuy who managed to survive the entire season and he is the cause of the massively slow pace of the first half of the season when he foolishly gets himself kidnapped by the scorpions, which forces protagonist Darel to spend almost three whole episodes trying to rescue Gee.
** Burnu was initially a scrappy as well as he was initially portrayed as an arrogant frog who constantly made condescending comments towards Darel just because Darel was not a kulipari like Burnu was. In Burnu's case though, he gets RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap when he gets a significant amount of CharacterDevelopment after episode 8 and his conversation in the finale with Tipi proves that he got rescued from the heap of scrappies.
** Queen Jarrah's assistant is also another scrappy as even though she appeared late in the series, she was basically a MinionWithAnFInEvil who did not get much development in her character, which caused her to be seen by fans as a very bland character and she was basically forgotten after Jarrah was murdered by Lord Marmoo.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'': In a series filled to the brim with [[EvilIsCool cool]], [[WellIntentionedExtremist well-intentioned]], [[TheChessmaster competent]], charismatic and interesting [[AntiVillain Anti-Villains]] (many of whom get the [[DracoInLeatherPants leather pants treatment]]), Book 2's [[EvilUncle Unalaq]] has the dubious honor of being the most straightforward, dull, TakeOverTheWorld villain in the series. His [[FantasticAesop lacking the real world validity]] of the others and excessive cruelty, hypocrisy, and his endgame [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt would kill everyone]] meant the show's portrayal of him as similarly well-intentioned before being corrupted were InformedKindness that meant audiences couldn't LoveToHate him for his depravity. He also lacked the power or [[EvilIsHammy over-the-top personality]] that made the straight-up evil Vaatu (who's justified due to being MadeOfEvil) and [[WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender previous series]] villains entertaining and legitimacy menacing. The RecapEpisode in Season 4 [[TakeThatScrappy mocks Unalaq and calling him "incredibly boring and uninteresting" such the other villains don't even want to invite him in their plan to defeat Bolin]], shown the creators realized he didn't come out the way intended.
* Keoni Jameson from ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'', whose [[FlatCharacter entire character]] could be summarized as "a cool kid who skateboards". Lilo's one-sided crush on him was also annoying, regardless of shipping, for having [[StrangledByTheRedString no real motivation or reason to it]] and only coming up whenever it was plot-relevant. [[note]] Take, for example, his [[OutOfOrder chronological first appearance]] in "[[Recap/LiloAndStitchTheSeriesS1E10Kixx Kixx]]", where she responds to him with barely concealed annoyance.[[/note]] Creator/JessWinfield, a producer/writer on the show, said [[CreatorsPest the whole crew hated him]] as he was [[ExecutiveMeddling forced on them by the Disney higher-ups]] to serve as an AudienceSurrogate.
* Bunga from ''WesternAnimation/TheLionGuard'' is hated by a lot of the fans of ''Franchise/TheLionKing'' franchise, mainly because he seems to be the biggest source of forced "comedic" conflicts in every episode of the series. The fact that he shares [[BrattyHalfPint some of]] [[KidAppealCharacter the same traits]] as Scrappy-Doo himself does not help matters, nor does his catchphrase, "Un-Bunga-lievable!", which some perceive as annoying. Also not helping matters is that he's voiced by Joshua Rush, reminding people of his [[WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil other infamous Disney role.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/LittleBear'': Many fans who grew up watching the show did not like Mitzi, due to her being a troublemaker who teases and provokes her friends, and even tried to steal Little Bear's marbles once. While some fans acknowledge that her character teaches children that not everyone you play with will be sweet and always easy to get along with, some found her to be out-of-place in a heartwarming show meant to soothe you.
* Few ''WesternAnimation/LloydInSpace'' fans have anything nice to say about Lloyd's AnnoyingYoungerSibling Francine. Not only is she a BrattyHalfPint, she has PsychicPowers, which she uses to torment Lloyd, and occasionally his friends, at every opportunity. Despite how awful she is, Lloyd seems to eternally be learning the lesson that he has to be nice to his sister. While Francine does get a PetTheDog moment every now and then, it's not enough to make up for how bratty she is. Not helping her case was the HalloweenEpisode where she {{Mind Rape}}s Lloyd and his friends [[DisproportionateRetribution for not taking her trick-or-treating]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Mask}}'': Scott and T-Bob are generally seen as annoying by many fans, as they frequently hog the spotlight from MASK and VENOM, while usually not contributing anything useful and get into trouble at least once an episode, requiring MASK to save the duo.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMarvelousMisadventuresOfFlapjack'': Peppermint Larry is hated for being too childish and delusional to the point where he creates a feminine candy mannequin and calls it his wife. The fact that he's a {{Jerkass}} doesn't really help his case, either.
* ''WesternAnimation/MenInBlackTheSeries'':
** Many fans feel this way about the Worms, mainly because they are often very rude, their obsession with coffee often causes a lot of unnecessary trouble, and they [[IdiotHoudini rarely get punished]] for their mischievous actions. Not to mention they also get a [[SpotlightStealingSquad disproportionate amount of focus]] in later seasons.
** Agent X was not very well received due to being such a {{Jerkass}} to all the human characters and essentially being forced onto the main cast.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Metalocalypse}}'': '''Seth''', Pickles's JerkAss brother. In a show literally built on JerkAss ComedicSociopathy, Seth lacks ''any'' of that, coming off as a KarmaHoudini asshole who gets away with ''anything'' when it should be impossible for him to do so. The fact he's the sole reason Pickles is an alcoholic (one of the big factors considering [[AbusiveParents their parents..]]) makes it worse.
* [[TagalongKid Little Rock]] in ''WesternAnimation/MightyMightor''. He was TheLoad ''and'' a BrattyHalfPint: always recklessly getting into trouble and forcing the title character to have to waste time rescuing him. Even Mightor himself agrees:
-->"Oh no, it's Little Rock again!"
* ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'':
** The AuthorAvatar of the show's creator Thomas Astruc is generally ignored or straight-up hated by fans, thanks to a combination of Astruc's controversial reputation in the fandom and the fact that the character mostly exists to let Astruc get praised by his own characters.
** André Glacier became this due to the UnintentionallyUnsympathetic nature of his multiple akumatizations, his tendency to force or guilt-trip Marinette and her friends into eating his ice cream, and his general obsession with the love lives of teenagers he doesn't even know.
* In-universe version with [[GratuitousAnimalSidekick Mr. Skipperdoo]] in ''WesternAnimation/MrIncredibleAndPals'', a parody of low budget {{Saturday Morning Cartoon}}s. He is a rabbit with glasses who does nothing but hop up and down occasionally and point out details that should have been ''completely obvious'' (like the fact that a giant section of bridge is ''right above the characters' heads''). Frozone devotes much of his commentary complaining about Mr. Skipperdoo, and while Mr. Incredible at first tries to excuse the bunny as a KidAppealCharacter, he eventually admits that 'the rabbit bites'.
* Shapey from ''WesternAnimation/MoralOrel''. His lines consist mainly of "Waaahhh!" or "Nooo!" in the most annoying voice possible.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMummyTheAnimatedSeries'': The Aglaophones were obnoxious joke villains and are possibly even hated by the director of their episode, who is credited as "AlanSmithee."
* Gawayne from ''WesternAnimation/{{Mysticons}}'' is presented as this. He doesn't care that his father and stepmother are petrified, only caring to be King. He also poorly treats his butler, as seen in Episode 3, and in his Character Video, when asked about helping others, he dismisses them. His voice is also annoying, and it doesn't help that from any of his videos does it seem like he'll develop any time soon.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheNewAdventuresOfBatman'' had Bat-Mite, who is universally reviled because of his annoying voice, insufferable antics, and the fact that he's more-or-less a pointless character left over from the lesser-loved elements of the Silver Age.
* ''WesternAnimation/ParadisePD'':
** Dobby being an [[UglyCute adorable little mutant]] [[PokemonSpeak who only says his own name]] is clearly the writers fishing for one of their characters to be a [[BreakoutCharacter breakout character]]/[[SeriesMascot series mascot]] but most fans think he's kind of forced, as he's not plot-relevant and his only purpose is to be funny, despite really only being able to provide one joke.
** Miss Whiskers is also this to some fans, being a one-trick pony with an annoying voice, who does nothing but make stupid sex puns and unfunny rhymes that are trying to be passed off as catchy and quotable. She was initially designed to just be a one-time character, as one joke was all she was useful for, but someone on the writing team decided to bring her back ... ''several'' times, to the point of majorly overusing her.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePatrickStarShow'':
** Slappy, a recurring character. He's a creepy NightmareFetishist who [[StalkerWithACrush has a stalkerish crush on Patrick]] and shows up way too often for no reason, despite not really being funny. However, he gets RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap in "Home ECCH!"; he is genuinely supportive of Squidina and actually helps her cook a recipe that she can't get right, and thus ends up saving her grade in her home ec class. Much of his creepiness is then dialed down after that point, plus he ends up being on the receiving end of more slapstick violence (being shot with a cannon in "The Patrick Show Cashes In", getting zapped by electricity in "Dr. Smart Science", and getting run over by Cecil in "Big Baby Patrick").
** [[LethallyStupid Pat-Tron]] and [[MilesGloriosus Captain Doug Quasar]]. They mainly show up for time-consuming filler segments where the only punchline is Quasar repeatedly suffering from Pat-Tron's stupidity, with the latter often [[TheMillstone making things worse than if he wasn't there]]. None of their bits have any relevance to the story at hand, either, solely existing as {{Padding}}. Quasar gets a deserved TakeThatScrappy in "The Patrick Show Sells Out", where Plankton takes control of Pat-Tron and proceeds to blast him with a laser and beat him into the ground. However, the episode "Blorpsgiving" would give Quasar and Pat-Tron ADayInTheLimelight, [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap redeeming them in many fans' eyes]]. It also helps that after that, their segments actually do show them competently working together once in a while, like in "Dr. Smart Science" and "Big Baby Patrick".
* ''WesternAnimation/PhantomInvestigators'': Wad tends to be the most hated character on the show, for pretty much the same reasons as [[WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters Slimer]]. He's an obnoxious [[PluckyComicRelief comic relief]] sidekick with an annoying, grating voice who often screws up whatever the gang is doing, only doing anything useful in about three or four episodes. Most of his moments tend to be too low and crude, contrasting the rest of the show's campy yet clever writing. It doesn't help that many of his appearances, such as in "Birthday Presence", are so irrelevant to the plot that [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment either him or the entire scene could be removed without affecting the episode at all]].
* ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'':
** The Bug Trio. They have appeared only in one episode and the OWCA special. They are really annoying and completely out of place in the show. Considering how they were scrapped characters in the show’s early development, many wished they could stay that way.
** Coltrane isn't very popular due to being somewhat of a pointless SatelliteLoveInterest for Stacy. It also isn't helped that he was seemingly created just to have another ''Film/HighSchoolMusical'' guest star appear.
* WesternAnimation/{{Popeye}}: Popeye's four nephews, who are generally considered to be annoying and shrill, and don't have any real personality going for them other than being Popeye's bratty wards. Fortunately, their appearances are mostly exclusive to the Famous shorts (and still rather sporadic in that case) and a handful of the later Fleischer Popeyes.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheProudFamily'': Dijonay and [=LaCienega=] are both this, due to their [[WithFriendsLikeThese mistreatment]] of [[NiceGuy Penny]], in a very similar vein to [[WesternAnimation/AsToldByGinger Dodie]]. While [=LaCienega=] ''did'' get better, as she became more of a LovableAlphaBitch, she still retains much of her AlphaBitch energy, remaining incredibly bratty and petty, ''[[JerkassToOne especially]]'' [[JerkassToOne to Penny]]. As for Dijonay, she's often considered ''worse,'' as, while more well meaning than [=LaCienega=], she's not the best person to trust due to three big reasons: her selfishness, in which she has a terrible case of ChronicBackstabbingDisorder, and she's very fickle towards Penny: her stupidity, from accidentally revealing secrets to other people to her being an InsufferableImbecile, and the fact that [[IdiotHoudini she often gets away with this]]. How Penny managed to remain friends with them is a mystery. In ''WesternAnimation/TheProudFamilyLouderAndProuder,'' however, they ''have'' [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap become somewhat kinder]], but still have their moments of shelfishness and {{Jerkass}}ery.
** [[WesternAnimation/TheProudFamilyLouderAndProuder Louder and Prouder]]: Maya does not seem to have many fans, on account of her "woke" persona making her come across as Holier Than Thou and acting like she is better than everyone, when in reality she can be hypocritical and doesn’t actually do much as an activist, rather just act like she’s better than everyone and knows more when in some cases she doesn’t or only has a base knowledge. In particular in her debut episode she rejects Penny's multiple attempts to be friends with her and calls her (and her friends) superficial, yet the following episode onwards she still hangs out with them like nothing happened, and in episode three she hangs around LaCieniga of all people, which every negative trait Maya claimed Penny had applies to her, and even helps her with trying to steal Kareem away from Penny. Also in her debut episode she tries to force Penny to help her break a panda out of the zoo to prove she’s not superficial, even after he tells both of them he’s happy in captivity. She is also why the friend group sans Penny turned against Zoey after Noah asked her out because she told them she heard from her cousin, a secondhand source, that he only dates white girls. While she does warm up to and starts treating Penny nicer, particularly after she stands up for her when she and KG get bullied for having two dads, she still hasn’t gotten much love from viewers.
* ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'':
** Jet's cousin Zerk, [[FantasticRacism for being speciesist to humans]] and [[MotorMouth generally overbearing]]. Some argue he was rescued from the heap in Season 2, as he's no longer prejudiced, but he's still really hyper.
** Zucchini used to be this until he was rescued in "Space Junk". Before that, his episodes involved him causing conflict out of pure ignorance of basic topics (he thought Titan was Earth and didn't know the three states of matter).
* ''WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters'' has The Junior Ghostbusters, a trio of children, didn't get to appear very often in the main series but were still hated for stealing focus away from the actual Ghostbusters and having little to do in actually affecting the plot. Creator/JMichaelStraczynski was notably opposed to the kids and said he'd only use them if he could show them being run over by a truck. Classic Ghostbusters fans have proceeded to [[RevengeFic fulfill his wish in some fanworks]].
* ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'':
** Revolio "Gearhead" Clockberg Jr. He's hated mainly for being a minor CreatorsPet, having taken the most amount of episodes out of all of Rick's friends. His first appearance in "Ricksy Business" has him take up a chunk of screen time that robbed another of Rick's friends, [[EnsembleDarkhorse Scropon]] of decent screentime and caused Scropon to become a wasted character in that episode. His next appearance doesn't redeem him either, having him betray Rick for the selfish reason of making money and he gets beat up for this. However, his third appearance in "Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender" has him shockingly EasilyForgiven by Rick and invited to another one of his parties but in that same episode, he trips and falls to pieces in TheStinger and it's doubtful if he is going to be seen again.
** [[spoiler:Naruto, Summer and Morty's giant incest baby]]. Many fans are disgusted by his mere existence. Although this was [[IntendedAudienceReaction the intended reaction]], not many people found it [[CrossesTheLineTwice so disgusting it's funny]], but instead [[{{Squick}} just found it plain disgusting]]. He's only in two episodes so far, and the episodes he is in are currently the worst-rated on IMDB of the entire series. How badly are they rated? Both are the only episodes to get less than a 7, and the debut episode is the only one to get less than a 6.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Robotboy}}'': You won't find that many fans of Brian/Brainy Yak. He's hated for his backstory which some felt retconned Moshimo's well-liked background in "Brother" and his bizarre and unfunny nature. Coming out of nowhere to defeat Ensemble Dark Horse Protoboy in his second and final appearance doesn't help his case.
* ''WesternAnimation/RocketPower'': [=MacKenzie=] Benders is an overly violent and needlessly antagonistic BrattyHalfPint with a super annoying voice who everyone feared (even her own parents!) meaning she always [[KarmaHoudini avoided comeuppance no matter what she did]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}:''
** Taffy was a babysitter introduced late in the series' run who [[CreatorsPet everybody on the show loved]], but almost everybody watching the show hated. She mainly existed to give Creator/AmandaBynes [[WolverinePublicity another Nickelodeon show to star in]].
** Dr. Lipschitz tends to be disliked because, while many parents rely on him for parenting advice, it is shown that [[KnowNothingKnowItAll he himself knows nothing about how to raise children (despite claiming otherwise)]].
* ''WesternAnimation/SabrinaTheAnimatedSeries'' had the rare case of the lead character becoming this. When the show was retooled into ''Sabrina's Secret Life'', the tone became much more educational. So in order to set up Sabrina learning more Aesops, she unfortunately TookALevelInJerkass and does several mean-spirited things before learning her lesson (the worst of which was conspiring with Cassandra to humiliate Maritza at the school dance over a misunderstanding). She also [[TookALevelInDumbass becomes much dumber]] - which was [[FranchiseOriginalSin easier to accept in the first series]] because she was only thirteen and prone to being impulsive. Here, she was older and yet acted even stupider (one episode has her believing kindergarten-level rumors about Harvey). It didn't help that she was [[TheOtherDarrin replaced with a voice actress]] who made her sound very bratty and obnoxious.
* ''WesternAnimation/SagwaTheChineseSiameseCat'':
** The Cruel Magistrate and the Cat Catcher from "On the Run" due to their mean-spirited behavior and the fact the former doesn't want any cats in his village and the latter wanted to catch Sagwa and Fu-Fu with his net for the puppet show.
** A few fans consider the Sleeve Dogs to be this due to their troublesome behavior and a lack of character development they have, and consider them Alley Cat clones. At least they do have redeemable qualities, but not as much as The Alley Cats and Dongwa.
* ''WesternAnimation/SanjayAndCraig'': Even fans hate Baby Richard Dickson for his gross running gag and being a total BrattyHalfPint.
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'':
** [[Recap/SouthParkS1E9MrHankeyTheChristmasPoo Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo]] — first appearing in season 1's ChristmasEpisode — was heavily marketed and designed to be quite MerchandiseDriven. However, his shrill annoying voice, general lack of personality, and role as a pointless gross-out prop led to unpopularity with fans. He has been entirely phased out of later seasons and he only appeared once in a "Hey, remember me?" kind of gag.
*** He showed up in ''The Stick of Truth'' in a side-quest that showed he's living in the sewer with a shitty alcoholic wife and three little shits, one retarded. Still, the quest is fairly optional; you don't have to hurry to do it. And he ''does'' have a pretty shitty life now.
*** By "[[Recap/SouthParkS22E3TheProblemWithAPoo The Problem With A Poo]]", the writers seem to be aware of how hated he is Out-Universe so [[TakeThatScrappy they decided to make him just as hated]] InUniverse, and is [[PutOnABus forced to leave the town.]]
** Lisa Berger, particularly in "[[Recap/SouthParkS17E10TheHobbit The Hobbit]]". She might have been TheWoobie for her one-sided crush on Butters, but after she gets Photoshopped, she turns into an abrasive and arrogant bitch. While the fandom may debate extensively about how Wendy handled the issue in this episode, they'll unanimously agree that Lisa was terrible.
** The Member Berries from season 20. What should have been a one-episode gag got beaten into the ground throughout the entire season. Their constant utterance of "Member (insert nostalgic pop culture reference here)?" and numerous {{Big Lipped Alligator Moment}}s just screamed "ForcedMeme," and as it was the writers' first attempt at a season with a season-wide narrative it is ''painfully'' clear they only exist as {{Filler}} to pad several episodes up to the 22 minute mark. Their story [[AbortedArc abruptly ended]] after the 2016 presidential election, and their story will likely stay that way. Their status as scrappies was briefly lampshaded in the Season 21 episode "[[Recap/SouthParkS21E7DoublingDown Doubling Down]]," when Garrison [[TakeThatScrappy tells them to shut up.]]
%%* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'': Pearl, Mr. Krabs' teenage sperm whale daughter, is one of the most hated characters to come from the Nicktoons due to her [[DisproportionateRetribution tendency to overreact to little things]], as well as being a [[SpoiledBrat spoiled teenager in general]].
* While the crew of the ''Cerritos'' of ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekLowerDecks'' are a cavalcade of fuck-ups, none has earned the fandom's ire more than Dr. Migleemo. He's ''meant'' to be the ship's therapist, but he has a massive ego and has no idea how to even do therapy (it's mostly just food metaphors), science officer training (he ''thinks'' he does, but he's mostly ignored and Tendi gets help from T'Ana) and even trying to keep his beak shut. With the reveal that Mariner suffers from PTSD because of the Dominion War and self-sabotages herself because of it, his hatedom has grown as his actions are why she suffers. His absolute nadir was in the Season 4 finale "Old Friends, New Planets", where his actions cause Tendi to sacrifice herself and return to Orion.
* ''WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil'': Flying Princess Pony Head is also hated for being an annoying, selfish {{Jerkass}} with NoIndoorVoice and [[WithFriendsLikeThese treats her friends (especially Marco) like crap]]. She never learns her lesson, either. Her antics are entirely PlayedForLaughs, but few people think she's funny.
* If you ask any ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' fan about their least favorite character, chances are they will say either Onion and/or Ronaldo. The two of them have the distinction of being rather big {{jerkass}}es in a show known for how nice and likable almost every other character is, which makes them stand out more, but there's more to them on an individual level on why they are so hated:
** While Onion being a huge CreepyChild doesn't help, most fans hate him on how he's a KarmaHoudini: despite being shown stealing often, being prone to violence, screwing with Steven, and doing more felonies, the show treats him as just a mischievous prankster a la Amethyst rather than the psycho he is. Worse, he's actually given an incredibly thin FreudianExcuse, the fact that he doesn't get to see his father too much, which falls apart when you realize that ''Steven never met his mom'', yet he doesn't use that to act as a {{Jerkass}}.
** Then there's Ronaldo. Unlike Onion, who sometimes shows redeeming qualities (for example, Onion gave Steven an "Explorer Gal" figure as an apology token) it seems like there's nothing positive to say about Ronaldo. He's a HUGE KnowNothingKnowItAll with a good amount of WrongGenreSavvy fueled by [[ItsAllAboutMe a desire to feel important]]. While most of his antics are played for laughs, most people find them irritating rather than funny. [=PhantomStrider=] calls Ronaldo in his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb37Zx7onDw Top 10 Worst Episodes of Otherwise Good Cartoons]] a "train-wreck of a character" and "an ugly wart in the face of an otherwise immaculate, gorgeous cartoon". It became cathartic for viewers when [[AllLovingHero Steven]] after trying to accommodate his desire to be part of action [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech chews him out]] for being incredibly selfish and actively unhelpful.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Superfriends}}'':
** The animated series originally had ''three'' Scrappies in the mascot[=/=]{{sidekick}} characters of Marvin, Wendy, and 'Wonderdog', two ordinary teenagers and their pet who dressed in [[ClothesMakeTheSuperman superhero drag]] and whose roles in the series (especially Marvin's) were to do stupid but plot-enabling things. The characters were so annoying to even the pre-teens who were the primary audience of the show that they were replaced by the only marginally more acceptable ComicBook/WonderTwins, a pair of teenaged alien superheroes and their pet [[CallARabbitASmeerp space monkey]] Gleek, who filled the "get captured by the MonsterOfTheWeek" and "cause trouble through [[IdiotBall abject stupidity]]" roles until the series finally dumped them too and redid the format into a more traditional superhero show.
** In the "Power Hour" of Superfriends, there are ''three'' Scrappies: El Dorado, a one-Spanish-word-a-sentence hero with vaguely defined powers; Samurai -- a one-Japanese-word-a-sentence fellow who had a horribly stereotyped personality; and Firestorm, who is considered a Scrappy thanks mainly to his status of always being the fellow to yank the BigDamnHeroes moment from everyone (especially from a badly {{Chickifi|cation}}ed Franchise/WonderWoman).
** Thanks to NeverLiveItDown and AudienceColoringAdaptation, Aquaman had a really bad time being a DamselScrappy. Also, most of the time, his powers are useless owing to the series' extreme CastSpeciation limiting him to aquatic abilities in a land-based series.
** Hawkman didn't fare much better than Aquaman. In this series, his powers were {{flight}}... and that's it. All the situations that made the comic book Hawkman heroic were entirely absent, leaving him basically useless. The all-time low in the Scrappy department probably came in the episode "Secret Origins of the Superfriends", which showed Superman getting erased from history in the middle of a "Superman Day" celebration... and replaced it with "Hawkman Day".
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Superjail}}'':
** While most inmates have their fans, the fat perverted convict (Fatty) is understandably the most hated, owing to him being way more one-note and his existence revolving around being creepy and making sexual advances to anyone (and anything) he fancies. Of course, he always winds up killed or maimed for his behavior, which is part of the joke with the character.
** The DemonicDummy Prison [=PeeDee=] is basically the new Scrappy for the show among parts of the fandom, due to his obnoxious shrill voice and the fact that [[WordOfGod he would apparently be in season 4 "a lot"]] with Lord Stingray (who's divisive as is). It was not helped by the announcement that season 4 would only be six episodes instead of the usual ten, leading to the pre-emptive impressions of them stealing the spotlight from the rest of the cast.
* ''WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries'': Due to abandoning Superman in his time of need by being willing to let Supergirl die in the GrandFinale and then using Superman's rightful anger at him for stabbing him in the back as an excuse for a FaceHeelTurn in ''Justice League Unlimited'', it's highly doubtful you'll find someone who likes Professor Hamilton ever again. Bruce Timm stated in his Modern Masters book that THEY didn't like Professor Hamilton in the first place. That's why, when debating who Darkseid should kill, they finally came up with [[spoiler:Dan Turpin]], because they weren't allowed to kill Ma and Pa Kent and they felt if they killed Professor Hamilton, it wouldn't have any impact because they never liked him anyway.
* ''WesternAnimation/SuperNoobs'':
** Mr. Wertz for being a KarmaHoudini and for having done things that would have gotten him fired from his job as a science teacher, arrested, and thrown in jail as he once attempted to mind control all of Cornbury and experimented with the virus in a secret lab underneath the school.
** Amy Anderson, as some fans expected her to be a [[SixthRanger Fifth Ranger]] of the Noobs, but she was regulated to being a typical DamselInDistress as well as a poorly made ripoff of superhero girlfriends. She also does not get much screen time and because of this, her romance with Tyler is half-baked.
* ''WesternAnimation/TuffPuppy'': Becky from "Love Bird" isn't well-liked due to her bland personality and ugly design.
* ''WesternAnimation/TaleSpin'':
** There's the [[FatBastard High]] [[{{Jerkass}} Marshall]] of Thembria, who also doubles as an EthnicScrappy. He's so bad that his threats and mistreatment of Colonel Spigot save the colonel from being a Scrappy and push him into JerkassWoobie territory.
** Also Molly Cunningham, for the same reasons as [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987 Webby]]: she doesn't serve any real purpose, she's just ''there''. That said, there was an episode or two in which Webby turned out to be helpful, but the same couldn't be said of Molly.
* ''WesternAnimation/TangledTheSeries'':
** In Season 1 you would be hard-pressed to find many who care for the Captain of the Guards, who seems to be aiming for a record for how many episodes someone can juggle the JerkassBall and IdiotBall. Fortunately, he gets RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap in Season 3.
** Nigel, the royal family's advisor, garnered a fair amount of ire due to him ordering for [[spoiler:Varian]] to be ejected into a blizzard at a time of need, in addition to quickly coming to the incorrect conclusion that he attacked Rapunzel. Besides that, he's seen as too annoying and uptight. Like the Captain, he was somewhat RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap in Season 3 with the episode "Pascal's Dragon" making it at most more understandable why he acts as uptight and strictly cautious as he does ([[spoiler:as the last time he prioritized a friend over the well being of his home and its people, there were disastrous consequences, so he wasn't willing to take the chance of Rapunzel doing the same in regards to Varian.]])
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003'': Mento is by far the least liked member of the Doom Patrol, mainly due to his high strict standards and poor treatment of Beast Boy. He's also disliked for his arrogance in refusing to help the Teen Titans fight the Brotherhood of Evil, which would have gotten his entire team and family killed had it not been for the Titans ignoring his orders. When the character somewhat returns in Season 3 of ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'', he is presented in a considerably less favorable light.
* Some of the introduced engines of ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'', particularly those created during Hit Entertainment's run, tend to be disliked, either due to having limited, more gimmicky personalities, or by fans of the original ''[[Literature/TheRailwaySeries Railway Series]]'' novels who dislike the show's [[SpotlightStealingSquad overuse of]] [[CanonForeigner newly created characters]] over the original cast. Charlie "the Playful Purple Engine" and the Logging Locos seem to get the most flak in particular.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThunderCats1985''
** The unforgivably awful Snarf. Has there ever been a more aggravating "cute" character in a cartoon?
** Snarf's young nephew Snarfer, who is, if anything, even ''more'' annoying.
** Lion-O in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftU5GfORvH8 blooper reel]] ({{N|otSafeForWork}}SFW) says what most of us are thinking:
--->'''Snarf:''' You--you've got to snap out of it, Lion-O! Call the [=ThunderCats=] before--\
'''Lion-O:''' Shut up, you fuck.
** There might just be a ''reason'' that Snarf in ''WesternAnimation/ThunderCats2011'' is [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap retooled into a pet]], who ''doesn't talk''.
** The character probably most deserving of fans' hatred is Captain Bragg, who made the Mutants and Lunataks look like a bunch of chumps (well, more so than usual) and [[PutOnABus put them on a train out of the series]]. He gets away with hypnotizing [=WilyKat=] and tricking him into helping him and [[KarmaHoudini doesn't get punished for it]]. Bragg doesn't even have any real coolness to him to make up for it, he's just an old circus ringleader with a talking crow.
* ''WesternAnimation/TimeSquad'': Buck Tuddrussel has got some hatedom of his own for his jerkassery towards Larry 3000 as well as for constantly making the time squad's missions to repair the timeline more difficult by constantly GoingNative in the historical eras that needed fixing.
* ''Franchise/TomAndJerry'':
** The babysitter who would spend more time talking on the phone, rather than babysitting, while Tom and Jerry have to always watch the baby since it always crawls its way to danger. The babysitter also repeatedly beats Tom with her broom for supposedly "bothering" the baby. [[KarmaHoudini She always got off scot-free for this]].
** Little Quacker, the little duckling who shows up in a few cartoons, partly for its voice (Donald-but-not-quite) but mostly for being irredeemably stupid (thinking Tom is its mother, taking a swim in a pot of soon-to-be-boiling water, etc.), thus acting as a [[TheLoad load]] for Jerry. Quacker would reappear in many Hanna-Barbara televised series (albeit under the moniker ''WesternAnimation/YakkyDoodle'') where his role is practically the same alongside other beleaguered characters such as Chopper the Bulldog and WesternAnimation/YogiBear.
** Tom’s owner from the Creator/GeneDeitch shorts is vehemently loathed by fans, even those who are more forgiving towards Deitch’s other shorts. He isn’t exactly meant to be sympathetic, but his [[HairTriggerTemper tendency to violently lash out at Tom]] [[DisproportionateRetribution for minor infractions that were largely Jerry's fault to begin with]], [[{{Sadist}} his sadistic nature]], the fact that he’s a KarmaHoudini, and being an [[ReplacementScrappy inferior replacement to Mammy Two-Shoes]] (who herself is a BaseBreakingCharacter) make him a very grating addition that wrecks the series’ formula.
* The ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' fandom has several different Scrappies to choose from, both humanoid and robot.
** The most disliked of the robots appear to be Wheelie from [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers the original series]], for his [[RhymesOnADime irritating speech pattern and voice]], even by G1 standards, and [[ReplacementScrappy replacing the more understated Bumblebee]] as resident KidAppealCharacter (though not the version in the comics, who does neither) and Nightscream from ''WesternAnimation/BeastMachines'', for being a mildly overpowering {{Jerkass}} EmoTeen with nothing but disrespect for the protagonists and a ''really'' ugly design.
** Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime also has quite a hatedom to many G1 fans, mainly because he's the guy who got Optimus Prime killed. Ultra Magnus also gets some of this treatment, but to a much lesser degree. The hatedom has mostly softened since then, due to the sections of the fanbase who grew up with season 3, the original movie, and the comics, and it being hard to feel as bad when [[DeathIsCheap Optimus dies once a week]], but you'll still find holdouts who fondly dream of driving the Space Winnebago off a cliff.
** Those PunyEarthlings don't get off much easier, either... Sari of ''[[WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated Animated]]'', on the other hand, seems to have [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap beaten the odds and been accepted by the fanbase]] (or at least a lot more than usual). And amazingly, she managed this even before we found out [[spoiler:she turned out to be a robot]].
*** Of the PunyEarthlings, the least-liked on Western shores seems to be Daniel from ''Franchise/TransformersGeneration1''. Maybe it was the voice. Maybe it was [[FutureSpandex his stupendously dorky outfit.]] Or maybe the crying. How about his tendency to hang around Wheelie? Or was it that [[ReplacementScrappy he replaced his considerably more tolerable father Spike]] as the main human character after the TimeSkip? Or how he decided to stick around for ''Anime/TransformersHeadmasters'', which made him even worse in every regard? Whatever it is, the kindest thing people will generally say for Daniel is that he wasn't ''quite'' as bad as people remember him being, which is a pretty low bar.
* ''[[WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012 Ultimate Spider-Man]]'': Nova. He acts [[LeeroyJenkins hot-headed and aggressive]], has some strong moments of TooDumbToLive, and [[{{Jerkass}} constantly disagrees with Spider-Man and puts him down even when Spidey does have a point]]. The worst part was probably his attitude toward Harry Osborn. On top of that, he's based on Sam Alexander, who in the comics, is a ReplacementScrappy for Richard Rider... and given that Alexander was created by Jeph Loeb, Marvel Head of Television, he might even be a CreatorsPet.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBros'':
** The Murderous Moppets, who the creators planned to keep on the show solely because they're so universally despised by the fans. The Moppets were [[HateSink hated by the characters themselves]], [[spoiler: before being ultimately KilledOffForReal when it was revealed they were behind Henchman 24's murder]]. The creators admitted later on [[CreatorsPest they hated them too because they had little idea what to do with them at first]], but the fandom's sheer hatred of the two gave them ideas.
** Dermott, too, has become something of a Scrappy. He was almost universally hated by fans and many have called for his non-return: he's obnoxious, boastful, and gets Hank in trouble more than a few times. The fans have [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap softened up to Dermott in season 5]] for being more of a true friend to Hank and [[spoiler:becoming stoked over being a Venture brother]].
** JJ, or Jonas Venture Jr. is another Scrappy among fans, because of his increasingly SmugSnake personality, perhaps why he never made an actual appearance in season 4 [[spoiler: before getting KilledOffForReal]].
** Augustus St. Cloud - it's hard to tell if he's meant to be a HateSink or not, but his AlwaysSomeoneBetter nature and SmugSnake-ness seem to rub a lot of people the wrong way, even aside from his voice and his [[FashionVictimVillain looks.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/VoltronLegendaryDefender'': Admiral Sanda is not well-liked by fans, as she is an ObstructiveBureaucrat who stymies Sam Holt at every opportunity, leading to many pointless deaths at the hands of the Galra including Adam, Shiro's ex-boyfriend. Worse, she's a turncoat actively selling Earth out to the Galra. Even if she was genuinely motivated by a desire to protect what's left of Earth, audiences didn't believe her RedemptionEqualsDeath deserved the sympathy and grand funeral the heroes gave her.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheWildThornberrys''
** Tyler, Eliza's annoying and haughty cousin, who becomes a main character for part of season 3. Fortunately, the creators caught on quickly and his appearances became much more sporadic.
** Shane also counts. Not only is he a completely unnecessary SatelliteLoveInterest for Eliza, but the audience is also supposed to like and agree with him despite the fact that he endangered not only himself, but Donnie and Eliza as well, a toddler and a preteen, respectively, and see him as being in the right when his only concern afterward was insulting Eliza, who was understandably furious at his incredibly reckless actions. And that's just his ''first episode''.
* ''WesternAnimation/WinxClub'' has its share:
** She was never liked to begin with, but during season 4, most fans really wanted Mitzi to just disappear already.
** The villain for [[SeasonalRot season 5]], Tritannus, became this ''almost immediately,'' due to being probably the most pathetic villain in the entire show. He's considered one of the absolute ''worst'' things of season 5. Valtor and Darkar had problems, but they still had their fans. ''No one likes Tritannus.''
** Roy, also from season 5, is also this, due to being a complete FlatCharacter and a ReplacementScrappy to [[EnsembleDarkhorse Nabu]]. The fan base rejoiced when he was PutOnABus after Aisha's LoveTriangle ended.
* Blunk from ''WesternAnimation/{{WITCH}}'' is probably the most hated character. Essentially a combination of Slimer, Gollum, and a filthy, dumpster-diving bum, exactly how he fits into a magical girl show was never explained, nor was exactly whom he was intended to please. Also, while the show had many original characters added, most had bit parts; Blunk was essentially a CreatorsPet by the end of it. It really says something when a character voiced by ''Creator/SteveBlum'' receives so much hatred.
* ''WesternAnimation/XiaolinShowdown'': Hannibal Roy Bean [[InformedAbility is made up to be the ultimate villain, but he never succeeds in showing that]]. Also, [[{{Gonk}} he's very unattractive]] compared to the other main villains. Because of his unpopularity, he is the only major villain who doesn't appear in ''Xiaolin Chronicles'' and Chase Young's backstory was retconned as a result.
* ''WesternAnimation/XMenTheAnimatedSeries'': Warlock from the "Phalanx Covenant" story arc. He was just an annoying voice attached to a silly alien belief structure that was reminiscent of nothing moreso than Rolf from ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy''.
* ''WesternAnimation/XMenEvolution'': Spyke was an example of the crew's attempts to bring in a brand new X-Men character for the series who would be the "epitome of cool." This failed ''so'' badly (with almost all of the fans being irritated by his [[TotallyRadical "cool lingo"]] and overall skater persona) that he was PutOnABus halfway through season 3, having experienced further growth of his "spikes" to the point where he looked more like an armadillo than a kid, he ran away to live with the Morlocks in the [[AbsurdlySpaciousSewer underground sewer system]]. It didn't ''really'' help matters that he had basically the same powers as a relatively well-known Morlock from [[ComicBook/XMen the comics]], Marrow, although WordOfGod says this was a complete accident.
-->''Yo, Rogue, why don't you shed them gloves and give K-Girl a tiny tap?"''
%%** Boom-Boom when she first joined The Brotherhood.
* ''WesternAnimation/YinYangYo'': Carl's mother Edna is despised by the fandom for her shrill-attitude and never treating Carl with any sort of respect. Is it any wonder Carl is a JerkassWoobie?
