You never did think that Creator/AdamSandler could throw out {{Tear Jerker}}s like ''[[Film/{{Click}} this]]'', did you?
----
* Michael gets so pissed over not getting the promotion that he bawls his kids out when they doodle cartoonish designs for new homes and angrily yells at Ben that being a ProfessionalButtKisser is the ''best'' he can aspire to.
* Michael listening to Donna explain to their kids that they have to take their brand new bikes back to the store can tug at one's heartstrings. Especially when Ben and Samantha start crying towards the end.
-->'''Ben:''' No fair! I don't wanna return my bike!\
'''Donna:''' We have to, honey.\
'''Samantha:''' But Daddy gave them to us!\
'''Donna:''' Because he loves you. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up at Daddy's work. We need to bring the bikes back for now.\
'''Ben:''' But I already told [[BrattyHalfPint Kevin O'Doyle]] I got a new bike.\
'''Donna:''' Well... We can paint my old bike and make it look new.\
'''Ben:''' That's a GIRL'S bike! All the kids will make fun of me!
* When Michael realizes that his beloved dog Sundance has passed away. No matter how much of a jerk he was, his dog's death still hit him pretty hard.
* Michael sees himself brush off his father carelessly -- on their last meeting, no less. He's so miserable that he starts crying and, after being terrified by the Angel of Death, Morty, he begs the remote to take him somewhere happy.
** Exactly ''how'' Michael did so deserves mentioning. When his father is trying to get him out of the office for a much-needed break, his trump card is to [[RunningGag show him how the Magic Quarter trick works]]... only for Michael to yell at him that he ''always'' knew how the coin trick worked, [[KickTheDog and to stop bugging him]]. Henry Winkler's disappointed "[[http://youtu.be/48hS20iPDUc#t=1m47s You've always known]]? ...I'm so sorry I barged in. I love you, son." is a true tearjerker, doubled in Michael's reaction at the time (literally ''nothing'', not even acknowledgment of his father), and the reaction of Remote-Michael.
*** After rewinding the scene a bit, Remote-Michael says goodbye to his dad. Then his father tells Michael one last "I love you," and Remote-Michael replays it just to hear it again.
** A subtle moment acts as the lead-in: after Morty tells him he wasn't there when his dad died, Michael quietly remarks [[IHatePastMe "Of course]] [[FutureMeScaresMe I wasn't..."]]
*** It is likely Sandler based this scene on his father’s death three years prior.
** Earlier in that scene, he sees Ben try and show him a design for a mall (a design Remote-Michael likes). After Michael brushes him off, Remote-Michael gets mad:
--->'''Michael:''' Just... let me do my email.\
'''Ben:''' ''(Disappointed)'' Yeah... yeah, you're right, dad-\
'''Remote-Michael:''' ''(Growing angry)'' He ain't right, (to Michael) you're a schmuck! ''Look at him!''
** As his dad starts exiting the office, he starts crying once Michael and Ben can't see his face anymore.
** The film established early on that when Michael skips through time, his body enters into a trance like state called "auto pilot" where he talks like a robot and only does the bare minimum as a functioning human. But in this scene, after the drone in the memory starts emoting it becomes clear that the angry, husk of a man whose blowing off his son and father ''is'' Michael. At this point in the story, the remote is just showing him his future if he continues his life as it is.
* Michael then fast-forwards to his son's wedding, an event that is also somewhat Tearjerking when he realizes that he's missed most of his son growing up, and that he hardly knows his son's wife, and he's realized that he hardly even knows what to say in his speech.
* "I'll race you there, Dad." That line is directed at Donna's new husband, not Michael. The pain on Michael's face when he realizes that he's been replaced in his daughter's heart is indescribable.
* When Michael wakes up in the hospital after a heart-attack that leaves him hooked to an IV and a ventilator, he's so horrified at his son's revelation that he's skipping out on his honeymoon for work that he chases him down even though he knows he will die without his life support. He falls down and dies in the rain, trying in vain to tell his ex-wife he loves her after living only 3 days of his life.
-->'''Michael:''' Fa...fa... family ... comes ... first.\
'''Ben:''' Family comes first...\
'''Michael:''' Honeymoon... honeymoon.\
'''Ben:''' Honeymoon...''(goes to his wife)'' I love you...
** The moment right before when he [[MoodWhiplash pretends to give his ex-wife's new husband the finger]], then mimes that he's only joking, and instead changes it to a "You're OK" symbol.
** As Michael starts storming out of the hospital, Morty calmly tries to talk him out of it. Knowing what happens if he ends up leaving the hospital.
--->'''Morty:''' Michael...those machines were keeping you alive.
** The scene where Michael hands his wife a tissue containing the same words she wrote for him in their first date, right before Michael passes away. And the words on the tissue end up being obscured by the raindrops, symbolizing the seconds before Michael's life ends.
--->''Will you still love me in the morning?''
* [[Music/TheCranberries Dolores O'Riordan]] performing "Linger" at Ben's wedding is this after her death, especially because the scene takes place after 2018 (when she died).
